Tuesday 1/7 check in
Food: logged and on track
Water:64 oz
Exercise: 30 minute intense session with my trainer
I worked 2 hours overtime yesterday which meant I got to bed later than normal but still got up at my normal time so I could meet with Alex (my trainer). He worked me really hard, which is what I want. I was so tired after that I picked up some dinner, a healthy one.😉 It was grilled chicken, roasted potatoes, broccoli and a side salad. After I ate I napped until it was time to leave for work.
Wednesday 1/8 check in
Food: logged and under
Water: 64 oz
Exercise: 30 minute intense session with my trainer. I'm pretty sure he's making them harder now and I started working with him 3 times per week again starting this week.
30 minute walk with the community walking group
I was asked if I wanted to stay late for overtime this morning. I said it worked better for me to go in early tonight instead but they already had people lined up for that. I wanted to say yes to staying late since I can use the extra pay but I listened to my body and said no so I could go home and get some sleep.
I'm way behind on reading/responding to the many posts. Hopefully I can catch up between now and the weekend.5 -
@Mrsbell8well I have 4 dogs; 2 are Siberian huskys, 1 is an American eskimo and the other a shih tzu. I also have a cat and a guinea pig4

Went to bed at 8:30 last night. Slept hard all through the night. My routine is still out of wack. 2019 my 3 priorities above all else were sleep, nutritious food and exercise. Struggling with all 3 this year. But with last night I can check off sleep. I’m planning 3 nutritious meals today and will start back my yoga tonight!
@Zumba_Luvah do you have a large place for your dogs? Those are big beasts! My goodness! I bet they are a lot of work and a lot of joy!
@sleepymom5 Happy Birthday Pam!!! 🎉❤️🧚🏼♂️
@tryingagain5 I think you made the right decision. Your body’s needs took priority. Good meal choice too!
@amsandos try to get as much rest as you can. It was so hard for me to skip a workout. I finally had to stop and sleep 24 hours. It’s now been 2 weeks but I desperately needed the break. I can’t bear to go any longer with out working out. Starting back today.3 -

@DanielleInProgresss - I am so sorry about your back and really hope that you feel better soon. I will get you moved to the cheer squad for this month. You won’t have to weigh in each week, but please feel free to post with us whenever you would like. We are here for you!2

Wednesday Check In
Food - logged & completed 24 hr fast
Water - 1.5l
Exercise - 12438 steps including 55 minute walk
Yesterday was a good day, even though the weather got colder. Given how difficult the holidays were for us, we decided to take a beach vacation at the end of January. With these freezing temperatures, I am counting down the days...
@mrsbell8well - Illness will definitely throw the routine off. You will get back on track in no time!
@amdsandos - Sorry that you are still not feeling well. Try to take it easy!
@JillyBT - Boxing! That’s amazing! I used to box as part of my workouts and it is such great cardio!
@Zumba_Luvah - You have such a busy life! I am sorry about your mom getting injured and dealing with issues at your kids’ school is challenging I am sure. You have been doing great with your weight loss and fitness, so don’t give up!
@tryingagain5 - Great loss and great day yesterday! Good for you for choosing to have some extra sleep as that was not an easy decision. No doubt your trainer is revving this up this month, and he knows that you are ready for it!
@1theresamcvean - Great job getting yourself out for a walk on Tuesday! It is not easy in the winter. I love winter running, but don’t enjoy the walking as much, although I am trying to do it.
@ljdanny - You are doing great! Hope that your feet feel better, and that those appointments with the specialists go okay.
@timibotkin - Timi, I love your word for 2020! You are so strong and have stuck with this team and F2F despite the many challenges in your life. We are here for you and I really wish you all of the best this year!
@nstephenson01 - Omg, that barn building project really is too much. I hope that you feel better today! When the barn is finished, I think that your husband owes you a spa week or island vacation!

My vision for 2020:
To find out who I am outside of “mom” since I will be an empty nester in the 5 months.
To love me no matter where I am at in my journey.
To pursue habits and hobbies that I will enjoy and that will enrich my soul.
To focus on total health (mind, body, and soul)
Don’t let any one weigh-in dictate what I do.
Choose to do the work.
Choose to show up & do the actions.
Don’t give up when you get your first bit of resistance.
Stick to your habits no matter what. Ignore your ego and avoid complacency.
Keep a connection with others who understand what this journey. Isolation is not helpful
Don’t hide when weight gain happens. Assume it will. Share your truth, and don’t let your mind tell you no one will understand.
Make up your mind that you are and will be successful.
Accept that this is your struggle, and you will not be fixed. I will need to continuously manage my condition.
WOW! This check-in is the first thing I am reading today, and @mrmcgrath has so much to say that is just SO inspiring.
Key points, for me:- Choose to do the work... YES! There are no shortcuts.
- Don’t give up. YES! Sometimes the work is figuring out which actions even work for us, for our body and environment and personality. Do the actions. Watch the results. Adjust as needed. But never give up!
- Keep a connection with others who understand what this journey. Isolation is not helpful. SO MUCH YES! And Slimpossibles is such a great space for sharing the journey!
- Accept that this is your struggle, and you will not be fixed. YES! And I think this may be the secret to maintenance. The future I at one thought I would find was one in which I lost all the weight and then got to eat what everyone else eats (more accurately, what I think they eat), as much as I want, and exercise as littler as I want (again, my *idea* of that, not anything reality-based. But of course I never get to be anybody else. All I can do is make my own choices about managing my own body and life.

Good day yesterday! I am enjoying my time with William being here but I am still trying to stay on track. Besides Tuesday night I am doing well. Tonight we are just having pizza and salad. I didn't want to go out. It will be so nice to have everyone together. After all those years of having 5 kids running around, it is so funny how we don't have them all together very often. At least the ones who live close we do see. Today I am going to workout and do PT. That is about it. I am off to a late start too. I hope everyone has a nice day!
I forgot to tell you all between the BP and William coming home...I got an instapot/airfryer! I had $60 of Kohls cash that would have expired so I put it towards it. I hope I didn't get in over my head Lol!
@tryingagain5 Sounds like another good day! Dinner sounded delicious and healthy! I think that it was a good idea to listen to your body and get some sleep. I do know that OT pay is tempting but I think you made a smart decision this time.
@Zumba_Luvah Wow! You sure have a lot of pets! All those dog breeds are so beautiful! I had to look up the American eskimo. So beautiful! I love animals but know it is a lot of work along with the joy they bring you. So worth it though!
@JillyBT Another awesome day!! I used to like boxing with my trainer. It is tough but I found it to be fun too. It is nice to switch up the exercise once in a while.
@amsandos It is good that you are still watching what you eat with being ill. I hope you are starting to feel better. Don't push too much. xoxo
@Mrsbell8well I am so out of my routine too. I seriously did better during the holidays than I am doing now. Let's do this girl! Btw-I wish you lived closer for my BD cake too Lol! I just wouldn't be able to choose from all those delicious cakes you bake. (Actually I wish you lived closer for other reasons too, not just so you can cook and bake for me Lol!)
@brown6267 You do great with your daily steps! What is your goal?/
@DanielleInProgresss Oh no! Please rest and take care of yourself. As @Cafelelia said, please still feel free to check in. Sometimes even if you aren't trying to lose you still need some support. Hugs!
@Cafelelia What a good idea to take a beach vacation! Your family certainly could use it after the end of the year you all had. Where do people from Toronto go to the beach? Guess this time of year you have to fly south somewhere. How exciting to have something to look forward to. Thanks for the Birthday wishes too xoxo
@nstephenson01 I know that even though you know that a gain can be a number of things, I know it is still disappointing to see on the scale. Don't let that get you off track. Keep putting one foot in front of the other, the scale will cooperate at some point. Thanks for the Birthday wishes too. It is great having him home.
@jugar Thank you for the Birthday Wishes! I love that post too! Thanks for sharing!
@amytriesww Thank you! I am so excited he is home! It is nice to have everyone together.

Hello all, hope you are doing well! It is very chilly here today, was in the 20's this morning, brrrr!
Check-in for 1/8/20:

Water: not sure
Exercise: DVD home workout with stepper & 8, 10 & 12lb dumbells
Steps: 18,104
I am feeling good! I started getting back on track at the end of December & have continued into the new year. I have not been perfect, but I am happy with how I have been doing. My new attitude is, it does not have to be all or nothing, if I eat a piece of chocolate or cookie, it does not mean my whole day is ruined & I should go completely off-track, it seems to be working. I know I can have something sweet whenever I want it, I do not need to eat it all in one sitting.
The only thing I really wanted to get back to was my workouts which was lacking during the holidays. I ma determined to get back to my daily workouts, it makes such a difference with my weigh-loss results. I did my DVD last night & I'm hitting the elliptical tonight at the gym. I am also back to strict 16:8 IF. In addition to the Stepbet, I also registered for a Biggest Loser challenge through my company. It is $60 to register & you get money weekly for percentage. I feel like this is another motivator. I am very busy, with my Fitbit challenges, the Stepbet, MFP, WW & now the Biggest Loser challenge, lol. If all these things don't get me back to goal, nothing will!
@sleepymom5 once you are WW Lifetime, they give you a code to use to get the Etools for free & the meetings are free, you have to weigh-in once a monthly and be within 2 pounds of your goal weight. I have not been to a meeting since 11/30, I will be back this Saturday, no excuses!!!
@Mrsbell8well your food always looks so good & healthy!
I hope you all have a wonderful day!3 -

@brown6267 You do great with your daily steps! What is your goal?/
———-
I do not have an actual step goal. My goal is 250 exercise calories linked from my Fitbit to MFP with negative calories adjusted.
I do a lot of incline walking (25%) at 2 mph or less on a NordicTrac treadmill so my steps could be low on those days. So I strive for a minimum of 250 exercise calories per day no matter what the activity may be.5 -
Today is going well. I hired 1 new employee and about to make an offer to another. Very excited about my 10 teammates! Good things ahead for 2020.
I was determined to eat well today. I got up and made Molly and I breakfast oatmeal with apples and dates. Molly said it was the best oatmeal she ever ate. I thought it was really good too. It tasted like a candy bar. I usually eat it hot and pour some milk on it. But today I served it and took a bath. I figured I would heat it when I got to work and eat it then. I took a bite to taste it. It was barely warm but was so good I ate the whole thing with no additional milk. I rarely eat the whole serving. As a matter of fact it was so good that I decided to post the recipe I created as a special birthday treat for Pam @sleepymom5. I know your challenged in the kitchen so hopefully this will be easy for you. Lot's of ways to change it up and substitute what you like. Recipe following.
For lunch I made a salad with ruffled green lettuce, dandelion greens, baby turnip green tops, fresh basil, salad turnips (small sweet white turnips), red cabbage, roasted cauliflower, a few black and green olives topped with olive oil and lemon juice.
Molly is making an instapot navy bean soup for dinner that has fire-roasted tomatoes and green chilies. Sounds interesting. I brought a small grapefruit and extra apple for snacks.
Recipe for oatmeal coming up soon.2 -
Angelina's best Oatmeal:
2 cups Almond milk (I use plain unsweetened)
1 cup gluten free oats (regular oats work well too but use Old fashioned not instant)
1 medium apple diced (I used figi)
3 dates diced
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
Mix all of this together and bring to boil. Lower and cook uncovered for about 5 minutes. Stir it occasionally.
Meanwhile place about 1/4 cup pecans on a baking sheet and roast at 375 degrees for about 8 minutes. Stir them around at the 1/2 way point. Hint...if some start getting a little too brown then your doing well. If some get even darker than that...do not throw them out. We learned a long time ago how delicious very toasty pecans can be.
Let them cool a bit then chop and place on top of your served oatmeal.
I like mine topped with a splash of good almond milk. Molly likes hers with a sprinkling of brown sugar.

@kirsten11872 wish I could make you a cake too. Thanks for the compliments!
@sleepymom5 ahhhh thanks for the kind words. We would make great neighbors! I laughed when I saw the icons I sent you from my phone. It is supposed to be a celebration, a heart and a fairy! lol I am so glad your getting to enjoy your family time. I know that is your favorite gift.
And ladies I LOVE garnets!!! You can give me all of yours.
@jugar you are posting from my favorite mentor @AustinRuadhain helped turn me on to new ways of eating! She hit her goal right before I did.
@nstephenson01 I see that number you posted but I also see how very very close it is to your goal! You are a maintenance poster girl. You will get there! a day will come when you plow through just like you did to lose all those other pounds before this! Hang in there.

@sleepymom5 Happy Birthday! Glad you are enjoying your day.
The scale moved down, shocker! Hopefully stays that way. Didn't get to workout today. When I got home my carbon monoxide detector was going off. I called my husband he said not to panic that it just might be the battery. He was on his way home he would bring batteries. Well I panicked and left with the dog. I was going to call the fire dept but I figure I would wait the few minutes. Well ended up we needed a whole new detector. Glad I waited the few minutes. By the time everything was done I just was done with this day. I think I'm going to sit with my book and relax.6 -
@Mrsbell8well They aren't too big lol. One husky weighs 50 pounds, the other 42. And the american eskimo is about 21 pounds. And sometimes all 4 of my dogs plus the cat sleep with me and my boyfriend lol
@Cafelelia Hopefully things settle back down soon. I have a free weekend this coming weekend and I can't wait to spend the whole weekend just relaxing! lol
@sleepymom5 I attached a picture of my pups I do have a lot of pets lol. I did growing up as well. When i was a kid I used to say that when I grew up, I wanted to live in a house in the woods with animals. Well I got my wish lol. I have a super long driveway and my house is surrounded by woods.
7 -
@ljdanny nice being back in the 180’s! Scary about the carbon monoxide.
@Zumba_Luvah oh I love those puppies! Thanks for posting. Molly reminded me that we also have 6 pets lol. 1 doggie, 2 orange cats, 3 gold fish.2 -
Good evening team. What a good start to 2020.
- I have now been to three yoga classes at the super close "2 blocks" away studio. I love it! And they have very helpful class times. I am quite excited. Have now done 10 yoga classes in 10 days. I will end my streak today because of heavy work load next three days (12-14 hour days), but my shoulders and right hip could use a break
- Today as I was cooking Butternut Squash Black Bean Enchiladas I noted how easy it was for me to use 90% of the can of enchilada sauce, 85% of the butternut squash, and 3/4 of the onion. A year ago I would have had to add those last bits to the recipe. Seems simple but to me points out my change in thinking to allow me to see food as fuel and "think thin" in allowing myself the freedom to throw things away. I also tried a square of a darker chocolate bar yesterday. Hated it. SPIT IT IN THE TRASH. No reason to have those calories. Threw the rest of the bar away too. I am in love with the power and freedom of not having to finish all food. I am a box checker, a completer, and a people pleaser. This is a hard earned skill.
- How are you all thinking thinner? I do think it starts with the thought processes. At least for me as they guide my decisions so often mindlessly.
@mrsbell8well - Yum on the oatmeal. I just ate some as my bedtime snack after reading your post. Mine is instant higher fiber cranberry almond and I add 100-120grams of blueberries or raspberries to it. Love oatmeal on a cold day. Thanks for sharing the recipes. I love to see them.
@zumbah_luvah - Thanks for sharing that photo of your dogs. I love it! I am a dog lover and this made me smile for sure.3
