Hi all, I’m the captain for the team as my co-captain is taking a break. If anyone is interested in co-captaining please let me know!
A little bit about myself: my name is Amy and I’ve struggled with my weight my whole life but I started back at healthier eating in mid October and joined my first biggest loser challenge in November -which I won! I started almost 50lbs heavier than I am today! The accountability of logging here every week (or daily when I remember) really helps.
I’m a mom of a 4 year old girl and an 11 month old boy and have just gone back to work full time.
I’m looking forward to getting to know all of the new folks and continuing the journey with the not so new folks -please feel free to introduce yourslef!
One of the optional things we do here for some extra accountability is a daily post where we log how our day went in the following format:
Day of the week
Track: Yes/no
Calories: Under/over
Exercise: yes/no
Day: how you feel about today. Any NSVs, any challenges etc.
Let me know if you have any fun ideas you’d like to see us try out to keep engagement and motivation up!
Now for the “mandatory” part of the challenge. You must weigh in every week, ideally on the weigh day you told us at sign up but definitely before end of day Saturday.
Each week starts on the Sunday, so our first weigh in on this challenge will start on or after Sunday March 1st.
To log your weigh ins please use the following format:
Username
Challenge week you’re logging for
Day you weigh in on
Previous week’s weigh
Current weight
E.g.,
Amyg1982
March Week 1
Friday weigh in
PW: 208.8
CW: 205.4
Let me know if you have questions or issues. This is my first month captaining all by myself so I’m sorry if I’m not as responsive/active on here as you’d like, I’m gonna work on it!!
Good luck everyone!5 -
Hi all! I just want to show the new people what 11 months of doing the Biggest Loser Challenge looks like! I started (I think) in April 2019 but it may have been May.10 -

Yes, your chosen weigh in day is Monday so just weigh in here for your week 1 weigh in on March 2nd.
You actually didn’t need to weigh in today for the Feb challenge either, your Monday one was the last weight needed. I’ll put your final weight in as the weight you logged on Monday and we can just ignore what you’ve logged today lol1 -
I have changed my weigh in to Saturdays, so this is my last weigh in for this February challenge ....😬😂inessliang wrote: »Right....do we right here on Monday ...a bit confused 🙊🙈inessliang wrote: »Name: Inessliang

Hello everyone!! It's a brand new month, a brand new week, a brand new day, a brand new Biggest Loser Challenge! Good luck all - make it fabulous!!!
I'm new to the challenge and, as you may be able to tell, EXCITED!! About me: I'm a 49-year-old married mom (teenage girls ugh) from northern Ohio. I work from home full time. I'm very active on here. Feel free to friend me! I have a lot to lose but so much to gain (har har). I'm looking forward to getting to know everyone and rocking this challenge!
Smooches!3 -
Happy March everyone! Excited for a new month and a new challenge!2

Hello all, I'm brand new to the challenge and brand new to myfitnesspal as well. I was able to lose some weight on my own last year but gained some of it back which brought my very frustrated self here. I work in mental health with an atypical schedule so you'll often find me working out or eating in the middle of the night. Any tips are very welcome I'm excited to get started!4

@AmyG1982, Sorry I missed week 4 weigh-in for February, was really sick. Can I still be a part of the March challenge?1

Welcome! Hopefully logging in here will help you with some of the accountability/consistency -it’s helped me a lot. Having to log gains or when there’s been no change has been great motivation for me to work harder and have a good loss the next week.3 -
Thank you @AmyG19821

Not sure what happened as I only indulged once. I am guessing that I had a lot of salt. I also eyeball my servings when tracking which has worked for me 99% of the time, but I did more guesstimating this week than I usually do. I’m not discouraged at all. This is a good learning experience for the long term.4 -
Daily Post Sunday
Track: Yes
Calories: Over
Exercise: Sort of. 20 minute leisure walk.
Day: Overall good day. I reached my DietBet monthly goal so I over indulged in brownies.1 -
Daily post Sunday
Track: yes
Calories: 150 over
Exercise: none
Day: did good today. Allowed myself to indulge a bit as I often do on the weekends lol but kept it in check and had really healthy meals. Tomorrow starts our fitness challenge at work, gonna start taking the stairs up at least once a day -I’m on the 16th floor 😬 took measurement and will probably take pics to see what kind of changes I can see at the end of the month. Hoping to have a great loss this month with the extra motivation of the challenge!2 -
Daily post Sunday
Tracked: yes
Calories: under
Exercise: not specifically
I did lots of food prep today! Made chicken paprikash without the dumplings, spaghetti squash, and clay pots with shrimp, veggies, rice noodles in a lemongrass coconut sauce!1 -
Daily post Sunday
Tracked: yes
Calories: under
Exercise: Got in 7000 steps
Got a membership for the art museum today. I could walk around in there for hours. It's just strolling, but it's not sitting on my butt in front of the TV. Made healthy chicken fajitas - enough left for tomorrow.3 -

Hi! I'm feeling very good about March even though I am anticipating some seasonal depression which I usually have this time of year (it is still very much winter where I live).
It's been four of five months since I started to examine my relationship with food. I quit eating office treats 12/21.
I discovered the Half Size Me podcast and began to focus on just eating mindfully enough to track every day and I think I have almost tracked every day for about a month even on my birthday dinner and a few days where I wasn't really sure exactly what I ate. I used to not track for two reasons (1) I had no idea what I was eating/had eaten (2) I could not handle seeing a number above 2000 calories apparently.
A big shift came when I went to visit my family for the weekend in mid-February. The trip involves about 14 hours in the car and it's usually my time to eat whatever I want. I did indulge as usual but tracked two out of three days. It was hard to see those 3000 calorie days but guess what? They would have shown up on the scale when I got back whether I had tracked or not.
I think I'm finally ready to focus on hitting my maintenance or target calories every day. I'm focusing on Half Size Me's mandate of incorporating 20-30 grams of protein and 5-6 grams fiber in every meal; I hardly ever noticed macros before so that prompted me to upgrade to premium!
Other goals this month:
* pre track every day
* pre track a treat every day, late in the day so I have something to look forward to
* post to MFP every day
* strength-train 2x/week
* every meal & snack: Butt on Chair, Food on Plate. No grazing, no BLTs (bites, licks, and tastes)!
Thanks for reading if you still are I'll try to stick with weigh ins and daily posts better; thanks for your leadership @AmyG1982 !6 -

Hi Amy, still a bit confused with Dates. So Week-1 is till 7/3 or 13/3 ? My start-up weight I believe was the last weight of Feb taken on 29/2.0
