    Sunday check in...

The weekend was busy but pretty good. Usually I go way overboard on the weekends but this weekend I indulged but didn’t go overboard as I usually do and I’m so happy about that.

Unfortunately the *kitten* has hit the fan once again just as things were getting under control for me and I have a rough week ahead. So much illness in my daycare this year and I feel like I just can’t keep up. Long story short is that I don’t have much in the tank so I am going to focus on drinking my water, tracking my food, not getting sick and not losing my mind. Lol. I don’t know how much I will be checking in but I will be with you all spirit.

@vegan4lyfe2012 @Jactop @TeraBbreakingFree congratulations on being on the leaderboard! Great losses team!

@its_cleo way to go on getting under 155, your hard work is paying off! I love that you're looking at ways to explore fitness outside of your comfort zone. I tend to be the same way about isolating and having to fight through anxiousness but it's rarely not been worth it to try something new.

@raleighgirl09 I'm so happy dress shopping was fun for you! It's such a different experience when you can see how different you look from all the changes you've been making. I know what you mean about feeling like you're in a fishbowl around people, that helps me not overdo it as well. That and not wanting to eat more than everyone else, unfortunately doesn't mean that I'm being mindful!

@sunshineplace It's amazing to be able to say you didn't overdo it but were able to eat in a healthy manner. Do the best you can this week, good luck with everything.

@vegan4lyfe2012 I'm sorry to hear about your daughter and hope she's doing better. Tomorrow is a new day, you'll get through this.

    @apple852hk nice loss!

@mlhopp93 I hope you're feeling better! Sounds like a tough week, hang in there.

    Sunday check-in
    Calories- under
    Exercise- bike, walking, strength, yoga

    Habits
    Weights 3xs a week- tomorrow's day 1
Cardio 30 minutes a day- done
    Strength/Yoga- done
    Decluttering/cleaning- none today
Recipe- made red lentil chili, it came out really good! She uses a lot of spices in her recipes which I like, plus I love the medium-hot chili powder I used with beans. I really like the blog, there's a bunch of recipes I saved and I want to get her cookbooks at the library.

Aside of a few minutes before bed I don't let myself read novels unless working out (mostly on the bike but I'll dance at the same time or march in place too). I was on my last minute on the bike and the chapter ended with the main character's husband dying so I had to work out more to find out what happened! I don't know how many times I've stayed on the bike for extra long to finish a book.

Good morning team! I am sorry that I have been absent for the last few days. I came down with tonsillitis (something I haven’t had since I was a kid!) and I’ve been laying low and being really lazy trying to feel better. I have no pain this morning and I’m ready to tackle the week! B)

@Katmary71, I think that it is great that you stayed on your bike to finish your book! What a perfect way to get in extra time. ;)

@sunshineplace, ((Hugs))) I hope that things settle down soon and those kiddos start getting better. You just take care of yourself and pop in and say hi when you can! <3

@vegan4lyfe2012, I am so sorry that you have had such a tough time. I hope you DD is OK! It is a new day so just move forward. <3

@its_cleo, wahooooo congrats on being under 155 lbs!! I know that made you do the happy dance! :D I think it’s fantastic that you are willing to get out of your comfort zone and push yourself to do things that will help you meet new people and not be so isolated. I think you will have a blast doing both the 5K and the kickball! :)

@raleighgirl09, that 73 year old woman is amazing!! :o What an inspiration to us all that it’s NEVER too late. I’m about to redo my workouts and made my own hybrid calendar that mixes different BOD programs and my treadmill. Two days a week I’m doing a booty program. So maybe one day I too will have an awesome butt. :D

I didn't even realize I was in the top 3 - nice! Even with yesterday's hiccup, I am back on track and expect to win this race. Daughter is doing ok. Her college class was cancelled today, so she's at work with me. I don't want her being alone. Luckily my office has a secondary desk, so she takes that spot and is doing some creative drawing.

I hope everyone has a fantastic week! Don't forget to drink your water

@Jactop - Great weigh-in! Congratulations! 🥳 You took a big step closer to Onederland!

@vegan4lyfe2012 - How great that your office has a second desk, so your daughter can join you.

Hurray, Slimpossibles! #3 on the team leaderboard last week!
@vegan4lyfe2012 , @Jactop , @TeraBbreakingFree - Congratulations for being our three loss leaders for the week!

@TeraBbreakingFree and @vegan4lyfe2012 -- What a great reminder this is of how well you are doing overall!

@wrknonmedaily - You are only up 0.6! Just get back in the game, and this will be a little blip in the noise.

@TeresaW1020 - How great to see you online! So glad you are feeling better!

@KatMary71 - This is a super great idea! I do this, too -- have things I only get to listen or watch to while I am working out. This is a super easy way to get yourself to work out more. Someone actually did a research study and confirmed that this is a very effective strategy!!

Congrats to Slimpossibles and especially to @vegan4lyfe2012 @Jactop @TeraBbreakingFree !!!! Excellent work you guys, way to keep it green! @vegan4lyfe2012 and @TeraBbreakingFree, don't let a slippery day worry you - consistency is working!
@AustinRuadhain I hope your big project plans have gone well and good luck tomorrow!! And thanks so much to you and @TeresaW1020 for leading the FitRokr, it's pretty awesome to just have my steps logged and I don't have to think about it! =>
@its_cleo way to go on the weigh in, congrats! => I know a milestone like that feels really amazing! Keep us posted on the possible race plans, that sounds exciting - do you have a local race you are thinking of joining? Between that and a kickball team, there seems a lot of opportunity for training with like minded folks.

Hella buncha congrats and shoutouts to @vegan4lyfe2012 @wrknonmedaily and @Jactop - this week's weigh in is screamin' good, you guys are doing a really great job!

@sunshineplace oh goodness, take care and get plenty of rest and water! Sick is no fun and I hope you stay well!
@TeresaW1020 so glad you are feeling better and I hope the warmth has also found you, too! => I know if I want a great granny butt, I too would have to make plans and carry out actions but I'm not quite there yet. Looks like I have 15 years to get on it! Ok, ok, JK...=> I have been thinking about being more focused on the exercise.

@AustinRuadhain and @Katmary71 I love listening to my podcast on the treadmill. Are you listening to a Kindle or do you have an app on the phone for books? Wondering if there is a really small and portable way to add audio books to the mix. I don't think an actual book would be as convenient but maybe you guys do that, too?
  • AustinRuadhain
    AustinRuadhain Posts: 2,595 Member
@raleighgirl09 - Apps on my phone are Libby and Overdrive, based on what my public library supports. Audible also has an app that several people I know seem to get lots of mileage out of.

@sunshineplace - SO sorry you are sick! Get well soon!

@raleighgirl09 I'm trying to get through the physical books in the house so I read those on the recumbent bike, I do it 4 days a week. If I want to read other times I'll march in place or around the room. I've used a Kindle too, I just put in on the console. I'm not coordinated enough to read on the stair treadmill or elliptical! I prefer reading over listening, I've never been able to get into audiobooks and prefer the written word over videos.

    Calories- under
Exercise- stair treadmill, weights, core, yoga, walking
    Water- over

    Habits
    Weights 3xs a week- done
Cardio at least 30 minutes a day- done
    Yoga/strength- done
Decluttering/cleaning- kind of, cleaned off the grow table, planted the seedlings, and recycled what dirt I could
    Recipe- lentil chili
    10,000 steps- done

CONGRATULATIONS TO OUR TOP THREE STEPPERS!!! B) Who will win next week? Maybe me!!! But if not me then I at least know that I am challenging myself to walk a little more often and those steps add up to better health and loser fitting clothes. ;)

    Tuesday check in:
My WW points are wayyy up today. Mom and I went out to eat for lunch and then I made my most amazing enchiladas for dinner. I did at least do a workout and drank all my water for the day. :)

    Tuesday check in

Meal Planning: all done and in advance 24 or more hours, choices are from food prepped over the weekend and my staple breakfast and lunch choices
    Food: on plan
    Hunger: low and manageable
    Water: more than 8 cups
Sleep: very good of late, a bit slim last night at only 7 hours which is my minimum

Been an interesting week. On the one hand, I feel pretty solid with the paper planner and moving from calorie counting to hunger cues and sensible eating; it's not a lot unlike what I was doing without the numbers adding up. On the other hand, I find myself hoping that I don't slip and fall or trip up or wake up and it was all a dream....? Truthfully - I'm having anxiety over being successful with beginning this and with seeing the scale go down some this week.

I didn't know that was my thought and what I would write until I did it. I'm not going to run from the thought or brush it aside, I'm going to just allow it to be here with me and tell myself (what I do know), that I don't have to believe it or allow it to create bad choices - I don't have to buy into that mindset or thought pattern.

It's been a great many years since I have been as close to a goal weight as I am now - maybe 15 pounds left or 20, but I'm not sure and will have to see, but it is close. I didn't stop to examine all of this the first time I accomplished losing so much weight and now I am somewhat hyper vigilant. But a pendulum swings wide in both directions before it settles to the middle - and I am looking at it that way. I think I just need this discomfort so that I can get to a place of being comfortable.

That's what I think today - and I'll just continue thinking about it.

Going to see my sweetest of baby sweethearts tomorrow after work, the granddaughter. <3 Then on Thursday and Friday, I'm spending time with my two besties - my tri-friendship. They knew one another for 15 years before I met them and then we all fell in love and we've got a pretty neat thing going for about 20 years at this point. We have a wedding for one of the daughters we're prepping for and it's going to be a fun few days and then the wedding on Saturday and the weekend at the coast. I have an eating plan and I'll take some things so I have food that I know fits in my plan and I also am planning some off-plan eating. I'll have someone take a picture in the dress I shopped for and I'll share it here with all of you - my MFP besties. =>

@raleighgirl09 I'd imagine going from counting to calories to a new way of doing things will be stressful at first but remember you don't have to stick with it if it doesn't work, you can always change things so it works better for you. Sounds like you have a wonderful week planned, enjoy everything and have a great time! I'd love to see you in your dress!

@AustinRuadhain Great day! How is the tiny habits class going?

I am trying not to be angry with myself. I went over by 1,200 calories yesterday. Is it the leftover stress from my daughter? I don't know. I haven't figured it out yet. I was so disciplined up until Sunday. Went over that day. Went over Monday, but that was only over by 165 (not worried about that). But what IS stressing me is how depressed I'll be if I step on the scale Sunday morning for my weekly weigh-in and I don't see any (even tiny) loss. It's time for me to get into the Word and pray and listen to what I need to change. I have to stop living for the "what ifs". Hugs to everyone. Thanks for listening...

I've been examining my habits and I have found that when I eat a lot, I skip tracking. BAD MOVE. Yesterday, I forced myself to track all the junk I ate and it was shocking- a good wake up call. Denial is definitely a technique I use to make excuses for myself. Today, I am using gum to keep my mouth busy instead of food. Hubby has been asking to go for walks with me in the evening and it's so nice to add some exercise and get in a nice talk with him. Still trying to get this all put together and going in the right direction.

    Wednesday check in

Meal Planning: all done for tomorrow and for Thur/Fri. It will be ok to change as I discover what the layout of the land is but I believe the plans I have are good and reasonable. I'll tell my friends what I'm doing and they are not food pushers so that is good. I am having cake at the wedding and I'm planning on having something my master baker friend has made - I just don't know what it is yet. But trust me - there'll be something. =>
Food: on plan, good use of my breakfast and lunch staples and pre-prepped food I made on the weekend
    Hunger: low and manageable
    Water: 10 cups
Sleep: I hopped into bed at 11 and set the alarm for 6; technically 8 =>

@vegan4lyfe2012 and @leonadixon - Been there, have also eaten tons of calories off-plan, one day nearly 3,000 calories extra EXTRA so on top of my 1300. It can be painful and embarrassing and shameful but it can teach you things about yourself. The mistakes are a necessary part of the process and I urge you to not let the hamster in the wheel that's getting sweaty in your head rule the day. You can get past this with some knowledge about what works for you - what doesn't. Triggers and what to avoid - what to be aware of when something is getting close to a situation that resembles the one that ended up in a way you didn't want. @Cornanda hit a key point, if it's not already happening - track it all. Good, bad and ugly. Especially the ugly. The ugly is where the problems are and how to figure out targeted solutions. The ugly is the key to unlocking the problems - then go back and revisit and look at the tracking for clues and patters. It really does help. But what helps the most is to maintain the perspective that a day or a couple of days doesn't undo everything. You can get back on track and even if there is a gain, you can take that off and be back where you want to be.

@vegan4lyfe2012 There are always going to be bad days, all we can do is reflect on it and move on. I hope your weigh-in goes well! I'm not sure how much you're in a deficit with but chances are i you're at calories the other days it will balance out.

@Cornanda Between walking with your husband and logging no matter what it sounds like you're doing great! It's surprising how much one can learn from logging even the bad days.

@raleighgirl09 great advice. One of my aunts is a baker and used to work in a bakery, there's no way I'm passing up her desserts when she's around!

Thursday weigh in week 2 (12Mar2020) earliest weigh in logging in my F2F history! =>
    Previous weight: 183.9
    Current weight: 181.2

@Katmary71 - oh my gosh, chana masala is one of my favorites but I have never made it! Would you share the recipe and let us know how that goes? My son made a lentil curry in the instant pot last night - I was too tired to stay for dinner but it smelled heavenly and I need that recipe from him. I can share if that sounds like something you might like to add to your adventures!

Well, I am off today and leaving soon for my fun times with friends! => Way excited and feel good about my plans for healthful eating and for the reflection of how I want my eating life to always be. I do have some trepidation, some worry about going off the rails. When the thoughts trail in, I am working to just let them float by; I mind my business and let them pass.

One of the things about working the plan is the paper journal and it has a question on the daily template: What is one thought I want to believe about myself? My answer to that, every day since starting it, has been "I can maintain the weight I've lost without fear" or some variation of that sentence. I may need to write that sentence everyday for months - for years. I'll say on the surface I believe it, and some will see outward success and be shocked that I don't just believe it but I know how incredibly often it is that I have knee-jerk and automatic thoughts that scream I don't believe it. I feel the nagging in the background, the doubts and sometimes the belief that anything I do is short-lived because it has been that way so many times. I am sharing this here because I think this is the work for me as I approach my goal weight, much more than the food choices.

@raleighgirl09, I think anytime we change our plans it is stressful. In the span of a few months I have gone from low carb, Keto, calorie counting, not counting anything, to Weight Watchers. I still don’t have a handle on what I’m really doing but I sure as heck am not giving up on reaching my goal weight. And...I know you aren't either!! Have a wonderful time this weekend with your besties at the wedding. I can’t wait to see you in your dress!! B)

@vegan4lyfe2012, I am so sorry that you are under so much stress but you wrote the exact right thing that you need to do for you. Get in the Word and pray!! The scale doesn’t define you and all that you are. You got this and we are always here for you! <3

@Cornada, I do the exact same thing and often won’t track when I’ve overeaten. I am trying hard to change that because like you said it does no good to live in denial. Taking ownership of our behavior is the only way we will see the changes we want. Now get to tracking!! :p

@bethanie0825, ohhhhhh no!! I am so sorry that you have been sick!! Sounds like you’re at the end of it so that is good news. Take care of yourself! ((Hugs)) <3

Good morning! My weight hasn’t budged this week but drinking two glasses of wine last night at dinner probably didn’t help! ;) Tonight, I’m making my yummy balsamic pork chops and roasted Brussels sprouts so my points will be much more where they should be. I get 30 points a day and it drives me nuts when women on my FB groups come on and complain that they can’t get all their points in during the day. What!!!! That doesn’t even compute with me. :D I’m liking the new workout routine that I created for myself. Right now my biceps and glutes are in so much pain I can hardly move. But at least I’m balanced!! Today is a rest day and I need it! Have a good day everyone! :)
