Love your post @jugar... thanks! Maintenance should be celebrated! It continues to slip my grasp but I will reach it soon. It definitely does not mean letting up or resting on your laurels. It takes diligence.

Friday Check In:
Food: 14:10 IF. Food mostly good except for an unplanned beer. After a busy day of outside chores, hubby and I were sitting out on the deck enjoying the sunshine. I planned for 1 beer but was enjoying myself so much I talked myself into another... the bad thing was I didn't even really want it but it seemed like a good idea. Oh well... it was a very nice honey rye micro brew Montana does make some mighty fine beers.
Water: OK
Exercise: 3.5 mile Hike with the fur kids; 14,880 steps
Working to focus on eating more whole foods and meals consisting of protein, healthy fat and fiber. I don't have much of a sweet tooth but I can get down with sodium. The problem is that when I have just one high sodium meal it takes me days to shake the craving for all things salty.
@Cafelelia As far as IF goes, I'm not seeing the weight loss benefit yet (obviously LOL). 14 hour fasts have become pretty automatic. 16 hour fasts are not a problem if I have a busy morning scheduled. I'm going to keep at for a few weeks at least to see what changes may occur.
@GingerPwr I wold like to eventually move away from logging but now isn't the time for me to fly solo either. When I don't log, its like it didn't happen. I'm also focusing on getting a certain amount of fiber and logging helps me track that.
You are having some crazy weather @1theresamcvean!!
Good luck with your test results @sleepymom5.3 -
Friday Check in
Food - off plan
Water - 64 oz
Exercise - rest day plus PT and stretching
Didn't do that great yesterday. I overate dinner and then had some cookies. Today I am just dragging and it is already 6:30pm. I am going to try to salvage the rest of the day and get at least a quick workout in and maybe clean a little. Not sure what is going on tomorrow. Hopefully the weather is a little nicer. It is cold and windy but we don't have the crazy snow and winds some of you got. Ok-off I go. Hope everyone enjoys the weekend
@Mrsbell8well I am glad that the fasting is working for you. Looks like a yummy menu today! Especially the cookies What a great pic of your Mom and Lula Mae. I am so glad you got the day off from work today too. I think you can definitely use a break!
@annliz23 Sounds like you are doing well this week with activity! Great job!
@1theresamcvean Nice loss! I missed you too. I hope you are feeling better. That video of your tree is something! I can't believe it is May. Your poor tree! Hope it warms up soon. It is cold and blowing here but not as cold as you and no snow.
@lenka1 I am glad that you are starting back lifting. I remember you enjoyed it. I agree, with having two little ones it is important to take time for yourself. I don't mind you asking at all. My husband was really sick. He was on a ventilator for 13 days. It was scary. Two of my daughters live with us but weren't in contact with him after he had symptoms. He stayed in our room. I didn't sleep with him after he had symptoms but I did take care of him so I was in pretty close contact. I felt sick but more like I was fighting a cold one day. It lasted less than 24 hours. We won't get our results back until Monday since we went on a Friday unfortunately. I am very curious too. I would be surprised if I don't have antibodies.
@CassieGetsFit2013 I am hoping this works for you. Hang in there. Hugs
@KUMEcyclingteam Look at that loss! What an awesome NSV too! Thanks for the Mother's day wishes and Happy Mother's Day to your lovely mother too. I am glad she is feeling better.
@tryingagain5 I kinda lost steam with the fruit and veggie goals myself. Your posts always reminds me. What do you think is going on with your eating. Are you just tired of being quarantined? Is it from getting back into a work schedule? Maybe make a plan each day so you can get back into your healthy eating habits. You could also maybe pick two or three days to get into your more intense exercise. I think you have been doing great with the walks myself but I know you were used to doing more.
@podperson1 It does seem easier to put the weight on than to take it off. Don't get discouraged though. You stopped and have been doing good since. If you didn't, you would be even higher. Give yourself credit for that. Let's just keep moving forward. You can do this!
@Zumba_Luvah Nice loss! You should be proud! You will be in the 160s before you know it!
@kirsten11872 It is hard with everything that is going on to get workouts in. Have you ever done the Leslie Sansone tapes? You can do a mile in 15 min. I know that it isn't what you are used to but it is a quick way to get some exercise and steps in. Maybe start with that and build from there. I think you should also be proud that you are doing well with eating. That is especially hard being quarantined. Happy Mother's day to you too! xo
@Cafelelia What crazy weather for May! Hope that it settled down a bit for you. Hopefully after the weekend things will be a little better. I was thinking, with being quarantined, you don't even really get a little space. Usually he would be going out to hockey and school so that breaks things up a bit. Hang in there! Enjoy Mother's day xoxo
@lennoncpa I always notice how many food commercials there are lol! You are right, they make it so easy. Although they are not the most exciting or active tasks, you will be happy that you got some things done during the quarantine. I have so many pictures to go through, I don't know where to start.
@jugar Thank you about posting about maintenance and also posting about your story. I think a maintenance thread/team is a good idea. It may be nice for people at that point to talk about what works for them and also get ideas from other members who are maintaining.
@nstephenson01 Sounds like you had a good day, even with the beer. You really go on amazing hikes.3 -

I really think this speaks to where we are now. There is so much uncertainty in the world. We will get through this. Hang in there everyone and remember we are here for you if you need anything.5 -
@sleepymom5
I'm not really sure what's going on with my eating right now. Probably just from being home more, although working now does help. I do need to get back into a better routine instead of do well one day and not the next. I did go to the grocery store yesterday and got fruits and healthy items so that should help.
I am definitely getting a lot of walking in but I do miss the gym with lifting weights and having equipment to use. I think I'll try to get in a couple of more intense workouts in on the weekend when I'm not working and go from there.
Thank you for the encouragement!5 -
Saturday 5/9
Food: too much
Water: not sure, didn't track
Exercise: 20 minute medium intensity, 45 minute walk, 60 minute walk
I didn't do much with my day except for the exercise. I did stop at Keegstra's, a dollar store in my town to get a few things.
I got in a 20 minute workout before I went to walk.
I walked with a lady from my church this morning at a local park that's about a 10 minute drive from where I live. They have paved and unpaved paths through a wooded area. There are even Eagles and little eaglets there. They weren't in the area we walked so we didn't see them.
I also walked with my neighbor this afternoon where we usually walk near our condo complex. There is an eagle in that area too with little eaglets. I haven't seen them but my neighbor has. Today we saw a little baby bird in a nest on a bridge where we walk. I tried to get a picture but wasn't able to because of where the nest was located. It was really cute though.
Another neighbor/friend stopped by to drop off some brownies and ice cream for an early birthday present for me. She knows how much I love chocolate and peanut butter. The ice cream was triple peanut butter cup. It was wonderful! In the birthday card she had tucked an Aldi gift card. That was so nice of her.3 -
Its crazy to think it is going in to week 2 ! Wow, I am proud of myself.
I normally just decide to stop once the weekend gets here. With my hubby home and the kids I just feel like I could take it off and relax but then I over eat and go back to 0. So I am excited to say I didnt do that this week . I woke up and still dis my daily yoga, this afternoon I was really having a hard time getting motivation for a walk and tried to eat some chocolate but he didn't let me . Lol he said if I went for the walk I could have a peice. 😊 so we dis 1.5 miles and 7 mins of jump roping challenge with the kids . Also In stead of the chocolate, i had a thing of coconut wine that was only 88 calories ♡ so much better of a trade.
Today has been good
Food: I am wanting to eat everything and I mean everything but I haven't. So that's a huge accomplishment.
Workout: I did 7 minutes of jumping rope, and 1.5 miles walk .
Water : I have done pretty good my average is 48 oz ( 3 water bottles a day) which is huge ! So I am proud of myself ♡6 -
Saturday Check in......
I use to weigh myself at the gym therefore it forced me to the gym and I wouldn't be tempted to weigh myself everyday. Now that I am home and had to buy a scale, I find myself jumping on the scale almost everyday. I go up I go down I go up I go down.
So I worked on my sleep and step count this week and I am feeling so much better. I was super motivated because the scale is not moving in the right direction and today is my birthday and tomorrow is mothers day. So lots of treats around. My husband was so sweet, he bought me my favorite cake and since it is just the three of us, I'm worried I will eat it all over the next few days. So I hope these steps this week help balance me out!
Sunday:15,200 steps
Monday: 15,807 steps
Tuesday: 16,377 steps
Wednesday: 16,780 steps
Thursday: 25,918 steps (yep, I took a lot of walks)
Friday: 16,473 steps
I'll post Saturday later or tomorrow morning. I'm off to a zoom birthday party where all my friends can see me eat my cake!
Happy Early Mothers Day to all you Moms out there and those who take care of your Moms!

Weigh in week 2
PW: 256.8 (116.5 kg)
CW: 256.1 (116.2 kg)
- 0.7 lbs, (300 grams). I'll accept that, my muscles are sore from workouts in the past few days. I did the HIIT running on the treadmill (and I woke up without any extra nerve pain, or migraine hooray!) but then I did an hour of hard cardio yesterday, plus a weights workout. I am determined that my body will not control me, I am in charge here. It's that determination that's let me do as much as I can now, six months ago it was all "bad" days. Slow progress still gets me to my goal.
Happy Mother's day to all you mamas out there, and thanks for the advice about handling my determined ones (I wonder where they get that from? ) It seems my daughter may also have a potential boyfriend on the horizon - they're certainly texting all day every day, but we're still in lockdown so they can't physically see each other. This is also uncharted waters with her - give me strength!
Happy birthday to you @JillyBT I hope you enjoyed your cake and your party. With those impressive steps I wouldn't worry about eating the cake, just track it!
@bburrer30 7 minutes of jumping rope is impressive! (and fun!) I often find that I'll want chocolate or something and then I divert myself and decide I don't want it afterwards. Good for you!
@tryingagain5 - When is your birthday? Seeing the baby eagles sounds awesome, or the adults for that matter. We don't get eagles here in NZ (I don't think anyway), but we do have hawks which I used to see out in the country. I always thought that seeing an eagle would be cool.
@CassieGetsFit2013 I am intrigued by your treatment, I hope it gets easier for you.
@KUMEcyclingteam Your mother is such a sweetheart, and nice loss this week. Thanks for sharing your photos, they always make me smile!
@Zumba_Luvah Go you! The 160s are lurking!
@Mrsbell8well I bought an actual cook book this week, and your food pics look just like the amazing photos in the book. I can't look in this group when I'm hungry!
@1theresamcvean That is so cute that you kept reading to your son. It reminds me of the book "Love you Forever." My kids loved that book, but I will totally still read them that when they're adults lol.
@sleepymom5 I'm interested in what your results are too. And I'm trying to get my son to consider all states, but he's quite head strong! You are such a sweetheart, it's actually quite nice to know that if he winds up in the states then there is someone closer than the bottom of the world! He's a reasonably good player and getting better, he has good coaches here and a lot of the kids from the program he's in pick up scholarships to Div 1 or Div 2 colleges. He's also going to be tall, so that helps!
@Cafelelia Rest up and take it easy. We have weird weather here too. It's a few weeks off Winter and we still have sun and 20 degrees C / 68 F.
I hope everyone enjoys the rest of the weekend

@jugar yes to the maintenance group!
Happy Mother’s Day Moms!!!
I always appreciate everyone’s comments to me. Thanks for all the love and support. I feel blessed to have so many friends.
@Cafelelia I was so envious of your clean house. We spent yesterday cleaning ours and it looks so nice
It was such a lovely day at home. Playing with my new jigsaw puzzle, listening to music, fireplace going, just a happy vibe. My back is still sore. Realizing it’s aggravated from Friday’s side planks in yoga. Oh well.
Molly’s out shopping. Getting ready to make my shortcakes.
Something fun my daughter and her boyfriend turned us on to is taking turns picking songs to listen to. It’s a lovely way to share and enjoy music memories.
I really like what @hope002 wrote about IF. I’m really becoming a fan my clock started at 1:30pm yesterday. I really enjoyed all my food before then and felt satisfied to wait till today to eat more. It’s true that it gets easier. I believe I’m at 3 weeks. The first week I didn’t lose much at all but I started mentally feeling better about my relationship with food. Eliminated mindless eating. Now my gut is working better as well. And when I do eat I’m very picky about what I eat. I was sipping a glass of wine the other day. After 2 sips I realized I didn’t like it so I stopped. In the past I would have drank it anyway.
Learning daily.
Have a lovely Sunday everyone!3 -

I did it!!!!!! My goal was to hit 100,000
Next week's goal.... log my food
I decided each week I would work on getting back my routine and make a real effort to loose weight.

Saturday 5/9
Food: not good
Water: not enough
Exercise: none
I was so tired yesterday. I did nothing. Got into bed early and feeling much better today. I guess some days you just need to rest. I am already back on track and having a good morning. I am not sure what plans we have for Mother's day but that won't throw me. Hope everyone has a wonderful day! Happy Mother's day to all the Mom's! xoxo
@tryingagain5 Glad you were able to get a workout in before you went for your walk. Did your trainer ever send you a body weight workout you can do at home? Maybe get back to that and then see if he send anything to advance it. How cool to be able to see eagles during your walk! I hope you can share a pic if you ever can get one. Happy early BD too! How nice of your friend to surprise you.
@bburrer30 You should be proud! Awesome job keeping it going through the weekend! I love your trade with the wine, I have never heard of coconut wine. Keep up the good work!
@JillyBT Happy Birthday! What amazing steps you had this week! Great job! I like the idea of focusing on something to get you back into your routine! Glad that you did well with your steps and sleeping this week and can see a difference in how you feel. Enjoy your Birthday and Mother's day celebrations! xo
@timibotkin Hope all is going well with you. If you were doing good and expected a loss, just keep doing what you are doing. Sometimes the scale isn't always the most accurate picture of what is going on. Have a great week!
@xX_PhoenixRising_Xx Nice loss. I guess you really do have to take things one day at a time. It is good to look back at how far you have come instead of being frustrated about your medical condition. I think you do wonderfully managing it and are realistic of your limitations on some days. Ahhh, dating is starting. Not to scare you but my daughter married the guy she was dating at 15. Lol! Have your son look up Villanova, they have an excellent basketball program. I can even send a little swag his way . Hope you had a nice Mother's day. xo
@Mrsbell8well Enjoy your day!5 -

Happy Mothers' Day! My family brought a picnic lunch and stayed for a long visit. Yes we stayed outside away from each other - I wanted to hug all of them but .... Mid afternoon we had a ZOOM call with my 8 brothers and sisters and my Mom. It was really nice to "see" all of them and the babies (their grandkids). Of course I ate too much and still feel full so will probably not eat any supper.
Thursday is my next (4th of 6) chemo treatment and I can hardly wait for Friday to get here as it will be over! I am doing very well with the treatments with almost no side effects still.
