Find Keto friendly alternatives. The Rebel ice creams are really pretty good, or find recipes to make your own at home. I will caution that you will REALLY need to pay attention to serving sizes with all of these. A lot of them have great macros, until you look at the serving size, and then it's like really? A teaspoon? What's the point (at least for me). I have a huge sweet tooth. I find that planning out my day of eating and logging everything in the morning, gives me time to adjust portions or choices, so that I can still fit a dessert in if I am having a craving.

I'm aggravated with myself because I will do phenomenal all week, and then the weekend comes and BAM I spiral. I've had success before with Keto, but this time I just can't seem to consistently stay focused. I don't know what it's going to take this time to get my butt in gear.

Really excited about this week! I worked really hard and found some recipes that my whole family enjoyed so that’s a plus😊 And I’m down
9 lbs 🤩 187 down to 178 From what I’ve read...when starting Keto, it’s all water weight but I’ll take it!
Any ideas on how long this dry mouth/ excessive thirst will last?

@tinafortenberry just keep drinking the water, it's good for you and water is flowing from your body currently!
The "whoosh' is when you seem to be stuck at a weight or just bouncing about between a half pound or so, you know the now I'm 196.2 today 196.4 oh and now it's 196.2 again grrrrrr! For some people but not everyone there is a sudden weight loss overnight of a pound or two. Then if they are like me, there is a bounce about stage again!

Our county here in eastern Washington State, USA has just entered phase 2 of the stay at home restrictions imposed here. For us that means we can now have small groups of 5 or less gather for things like exercise. So, my daily exercise group is meeting again :)

I am really tired of this pandemic and all the restrictions that come with it. Mostly I hate wearing masks. I don’t like wearing them and I really miss seeing people smile. Seeing people smile makes me feel good. I think I could live without handshakes or hugs, but the absence of smiles alters my mood.

I hope some day soon, just like my exercise group, smiles will come back too.

First time poster, new to keto - I am one week in.. So far I'm enjoying this very different way of eating. I'm not a meat lover and probably have a carb addiction - not sweets just bread/rice/potato based. I've been enjoying the bacon, eggs, charcuterie boards etc.

    I’m making progress😍
    5/10 - 187
    5/17 - 178
    5/25 - 175.4

I’m not a fan of calliflower but found a recipe to replace mashed potatoes and I’m truly addicted to it now😳
I didn’t tell my husband that they were made from calliflower and he LOVED them and thought I had fell off the wagon so to speak😂

Me neither but I make a mean gravy and never have anything keto friendly to put it on. I'd be very interested in a substitute for mashed potatoes if I couldn't tell it was really cauliflower.

Not as great of a week as I had hoped, but progress is progress. I got my hair cut finally, and that 1.6 pound loss could have been my hair lol.

Hey guys, question. Do any of you get yearly blood work done? And, if so, have any of you seen an increase in fasting glucose levels? I have PCOS,that combined with my weight was put on metformin for pre-diabetes. I just got this years blood work back, and am super confused. Last year, while eating like a total trash panda, my fasting glucose was at 96 (only 6 points over normal), this year after over 3 months on strict keto (not to mention down almost 40 pounds) it was at 113. Now how in the world does ones glucose level go UP when I haven't eaten carbs or sugar in over 3 months?

@Sarag78 Hi I just have one question are you still taking the Metformin? Would that do it?
I don't know enough about this to comment but I'd suggest posting in the main Keto part below the announcements and someone like Sunny Bunny should pick it up who has a lot more knowledge.

@abardin87 I've copied your post from the spreadsheet to here, again welcome to the Monthly Challenge.

'Hi! I just joined the challenge on the spreadsheet; so I thought I would post here to introduce myself.

    SW: 193?
    CW: 150
    GW: 115
    Female/32/5'1"

Around the end of 2016 I realized I had a weight problem. At that time I weighed somewhere around 200lbs but refused to step on the scale. Over the next 12-18 months I tried a few approaches to losing the weight and made a soft commitment to keto. I lost about 25 pounds, went on vacation, and never got back on track. March of 2018 brought me to a serious commitment to lose the weight, my starting weight was 193 (gained back all those pre-vaca LBs I lost in 2017), and by May 2019 I was down to 133; with only 18 pounds to go to my goal weight of 115. I stalled here and decided to commit to maintenance. Fast forward from May 2019 to now and I am back up to 150 ( insert sad face) due to what I believe is a slow progression of forgetting my healthy eating habits (quarantine and drinking my feelings over my rescheduled wedding and honeymoon didn't help) and not taking my daily walks. The sad reality of the 17 pounds I've gained back, is that when I return to work (in a week; full on panic mode here) NONE of my clothes will fit me. I have ballooned from a 2/4 petite to a 6/8 petite and rather than buy new clothes and make excuses; I decided to recommit to the keto lifestyle and find an accountability/support system. So, here I am. I am hoping to report a few pounds lost on the 31st. Thank you for being here and doing all of this as a group.'

@Sarag78 I'll admit that I am not well versed in fasting glucose ect. I did some research online and this article looks pretty comprehensive. Hopefully it gives you some reassurance. 😊
