Good evening, everyone - or whatever it may be by you. I hope those of you in Europe are sleeping like cats.
...I have felt a bit down today because my injured left glutes are very unhappy today and I decided to take it easy on long walking...
So sorry to hear about your pain and feeing down! Must’ve been in the same wavelength this weekend. Please do take it easier than you think necessary so your poor butt can heal.
I know it seems endless-take time to smell those lovely floweez, especially the Lillies of the valley. They’re my fave.
Be well, dear sis. Love you tons & tons.
We’ll get to visit one of these days.
STEPS today: 8,345
(I hope these get to our Steps Goddess)

Here are some of the lovely flowers right outside the house - everywhere else are violets, ferns, trilliums, and many other wonderful fragrant plants. I'm glad last week's heat is over!
And I am very jealous of your trilliums. That was an aunt's nickname for me when I was little and we can't grow them out west. She had grown up in the east and they were one of her favourites as a child.

Hi @jugar - January 18th was picked because it's your birthday. Also because I figured I could lose 2 pounds a week if I stayed focused and when I set the weight loss goal of 154 I put down a 1 pound loss on each Friday and Monday for a total of 2 pounds a week and did that until I reached my goal and that happened to be January 18th. But the main reason was so I could celebrate on your birthday. June 18th was picked because it was a month from when I set my monthly goal on May 18th. I wish I could have a much more interesting earth shaking reason but I don't but I imagine it is someone's birthday somewhere so I will celebrate someones birthday on June 18th too. You are welcome to celebrate with me on June 18th as well. Everyone is invited to celebrate someones birthday on June 18th. Let's make it a real shindig. Substitute the birthday cake and bubbly with whatever is on your diet that you enjoy the most. I think I will celebrate with keto waffles of my own recipe and strawberry infused water.
My 2 number challenge for today:
GKI number needs to be less than 6 = It is 4.2
exercise 1 hour. - I didn't do my exercises today but I still have 1 hour and 15 minutes left in the day and I will severely reprimand myself if I don't take the last hour of the day and do them. (not really, just kidding)
I didn't post my biometrics yesterday since I got really busy so I will post them now
Here are my current bio-metrics 6/2/2020
age:66
Weight 221
Blood pressure 124/67 pulse 50 (I always take my blood pressure 4 times and use the average. Found out that the average I have been using is of the last 3 readings, not the average of the 4 readings. I will continue to take blood pressure and recording it the same way for consistency of data)
Glucose 98 (I want this below 100)
Ketones 1.3 (I want this above 1.0.)
Glucose Ketone Index (GKI) 4.19 (I want this below 6 for weight loss)
Here are my previous Bio-metrics.
5/25/2020
age:66
Weight 224
Blood pressure 126/70/ pulse 57 (I always take my blood pressure 4 times and use the average)

Ketones 1.1 (happy with this being above 1.0. Last week it was only .3)
Glucose Ketone Index (GKI) 5.0 (I am in moderate ketosis which is good for weight loss)
5/18/2020
age - 66
weight 225.5
blood pressure 125/68 pulse 62
glucose - 110
ketones .3
glucose ketone index (GKI) - 20.37 (not in ketosis)

age - 65
weight 225.5
Blood Pressure 128/65 pulse 55
blood glucose 99
ketone level 1.0
GKI 5.5 in ketosis
April 25th when my weight was 234.5:

So I blew it yesterday, the day started off pretty well, but I got home, and had a nutty bar, a Hershey bar, a bowl of broccoli salad, I made turkey quesadillas for dinner (they were yummy)... Oh and pistachios, I ate a big ole bowl of them too.... My steps for the day was a whopping 3,028
Today is a new day, I got up at 5.30am did my 2 miles, got ready for work, made my lunch, and I am here ready to stay on the path...
It's going to be in the 90's today, so no dog jog, but I will get on the treadmill...
I need to find a good resistance band schedule to follow 3 times a week, something I can print out and follow would be awesome, or a video would work too... I don't have a large variety of weights, but I do have resistance bands, so if you have any suggestions, please let me have em...
I think the balance of my week will be as follows:
Weds - 2 mile video, 45 min treadmill, 20 min yoga
Thurs - 3 mile video, 30 min treadmill , 30 pilates
Friday - 2 mile video, 45 min treadmill, 20 min yoga
Saturday - 3 mile walk outside, move furniture, walk dogs
Sunday - 4 mile walk outside, walk dogs, relax.....
Weather will be hot, humid & rainy until Saturday. Hubby wants to start running in the mornings on the weekends, so I will walk jog, but not run, I think I will even leave the doggos home for those walks, I can take them on shorter ones later in the day...

Because you were one of the awesome 12 people (out of 140!) who had four consecutive weeks in the Green! You, in a tiara, on your new deck, doing the happy dance. Yes!4 -
It's Wednesday! Rainy and indoory here today, but that is probably good. I have time to look for some very old scores (music) for a friend (I promised to find them days ago...), work on clearing out my daughter's old room to start its transformation in earnest, and set up my new cell phone which hopefully arrives in the mail today. For the first time in my many years of cell phone ownership, I dropped it on a rock last week and the screen cracked. It was getting really old anyhow, so good excuse to replace it. I hate setting up a new one, but at least I won't feel like I'm wasting a beautiful day to do it!
@unevano challenge accepted! We WILL all party on June 18th, and again in January. Or maybe more often! So everyone try to have all green weigh-ins to celebrate on the 18th, and good exercise numbers, and anything else your heart desires. We'll party.
@Gidgitgoescrazy - here is one collection that has some good resistance band exercises - https://greatist.com/fitness/resistance-band-exercises Don't skip the Russian twists whatever you do! I love the bands for travel or just when I don't feel like dragging out the weights. The mini bands are also really fun to shoot at people like a giant rubber band. They don't go very fast but it's fun anyhow. You could also use them as slingshots to shoot your pistachios and candy off into the nearest pond... Keep up the good work and the slip-up will slip into the past!
@CanadianGiraffe - I agree, the trilliums are the most amazing flowers around. It is a huge compliment that your aunt called you that! I try hard to encourage the wild flowers to inhabit the zone right around the house. I prefer the native flowers and ferns to any neat looking garden. We're really in the woods here, so a manicured garden looks wrong, but just letting the ferns and blackberries take over isn't so good either. The trilliums, jack-in-the-pulpit, bee balm, and lilies of the valley are here to stay, though.
Have a good one everybody!4 -

Hi everyone. Sorry I've been quiet, I'm on day 4 of a migraine that just won't quit.
I'm also feeling pretty bleak and depressed about humanity and the world and myself and my job and... everything I guess.
Here's an unrelated picture of my cat giving me heart eyes:

Hump Day is here, looking forward to the weekend. Have been doing very good watching carbs. Very happy with the loss of weight so far. Weigh in is Friday, I know it will be good. Temptation was all around me this week with chocolate covered strawberries this morning, donuts earlier in the week, I have the will power to resist as I have weight loss in my sights.
I am in Tn.6 -
I forgot to say...
I'm 46, and I've managed to stay under 165 for the past 18 years. Those years are probably split even between 130s, 140s or 150s. Even when I creep up, I think, "I still weigh less than I did in high school!" I'm the opposite of the people who grew up knowing what it was like to be thinner.
For all of us, today is a new day!5 -
This pic is of me...when i started my weight loss attempts... i knew i crossed 100kgs at some point of time....but had no courage to step on the scale to confirm it......

Well yesterday I broke my No sweets May, it was June 2nd after all. We walked 3 miles round trip to get an ice cream!!!! It was so worth the wait and I didn’t feel as guilty about it because the hubby and I walked to get it. Well now to start again. No sweets the rest of the month for this lady.9

@Terytha I have been there with the depression but not a migraine for 4 days. Just hang in there - It will get better. I have recently started doing meditation. It has been very relaxing and refreshing. I found Dr Joe Dispenza on you tube and he has had interviews that explain a little bit of the science.
It is hard, can't control others, just yourself. I have had to let go of a lot of stuff and work on the things I can control.
Love the cat.

@Stefbomb2020 WOW! That is an impressive transformation. Spectacular
And more big "WELL DONE"s to @offitgoes and @ELENA01 , the sweet-shunning @SMcFall0215 (I'll bet that ice cream was good, though!), and the long term success of @deniners2. You have stayed in the good zones for a long time, and we're glad you're here. @Terytha - enjoy the comfort of your cat and the good things that are still happening in this mixed up world of ours. Including you. Except not the migraine. Hope it passes off soon!
I had a great chat with @micki48 this morning - she is putting a lot of energy into family right now. She'll be back with us as soon as possible! Best co-captain ever
take care out there everyone6 -

Aargh, I wrote a long post and tried to add an image and neither have worked so I'll just be quick this time.
@Terytha your cat is gorgeous. The world is a very overwhelming place just now so be kind to yourself until it feels a bit better. It will. x
@Stefbomb2020 you look incredible!
It was a good goal day here.
I took 12378 steps which was over target.
I drank 1.5l of water.
I resisted snacks after 7pm.
I am still hopeful you'll see a photo of my walk today. I'm very thankful to have this on my doorstep.8 -
@CanadianGiraffe That is awesome to be able to celebrate your husband's birthday on June 18th! I am looking forward to it and it gives me even more incentive to reach those goals that I set for myself and are due on June 18th so I can celebrate without reserve.3

Perfect! We will add it to the reasons to get silly that day.2 -
Steps: 2,100
Yep, it was a slow kind of day. Our multiple walks didn't happen for a few reasons - mostly inertia, I think.
Tomorrow will be a new day. I plan to set the alarm, make coffee, and walk to the PO while it brews. I've got a package to mail to mom in NC so, that'll inspire me to get moving. We did get some yard and garden work done so, it wasn't a complete waste of time.
I'll do my weigh in first thing tomorrow...sorry I didn't get it in for today.
Is it too late for Sarah to sign up for this month? I keep sending her invites but she's yet to respond.
OK...more tomorrow.
Sleep well everyone.
Mwah!

Hello Everyone! Wow. So many great things going on in our group. I read them all and am loving all the updates. @stephbomb2020 super transformation for sure.
I have been working on swapping out some medium density foods for high density foods. I already eat a lot of low density foods. Oh my, it has made such a huge difference in feeling fuller and not snacking. Some things I have added are lentils, sourdough bread, air popped popcorn, eggs, chicken and pulled pork. I ate some of these before but now they are more regular. The scale is already dropping and I think I saw my collar bone today!
I am getting lots of exercise in this week too. Lots of walks and bike rides. Did some weights too. Today was a really productive paperwork day. I finished 6 reports and entered Learning logs for all 30 of my students. Its about 20 entries per kid so lots of typing. Glad that is done. I just have a few more parents to contact and end of year report cards to do.
Tomorrow is another busy day and beautiful weather. I'm really getting in the mood for summer!6 -
My 2 number challenge for today:
GKI number needs to be less than 6 = It is 5.5 (whew, just made it. I had a bowl full of cherries and a big watermelon slice which nearly kicked me me above 6)
exercise 1 hour. - Did it.3 -
@conleywoods gotta love when that collar bone shows up!! That's always been one of my favorite NSV's 😁
@Stefbomb2020 so inspiring! Thank you for sharing your amazing progress.
Well I had a good calorie deficit for the first half of the week. Wednesday not so much, ended up giving in and had some cake with family at a birthday celebration. Our family is so large (I'm one of 5 siblings plus spouses & 6 nieces/nephews) we have at least 1 birthday per month and I really struggle to not have cake and ice cream. I did decline the ice cream part today so that's something.
I'm still expecting to have a deficit for the week. Tomorrow will be a better day, I can feel it.5 -

So one of the things on my daily goals was to make and complete a to-do list each day - improve efficiency, keep me focused, etc. Today one of the things on the list was to clean all the flotsam and jetsam off my computer desk. Except in the process the list disappeared and then I wasted way too much time looking for the wretched thing. So much for efficiency!
Hence I accomplished all my goals but that one today. The one I am happiest about is my goal of going for a walk every day. I told my husband about it and so he has been going with me, even asked me this afternoon when I planned on going. So that will be a good influence to keep me on track.4 -
@jugar PW 158 CW 158.5
grrrr....
I know it's only half a pound but I knew my eating/drinking choices and habits this past week weren't great. Tried to think of what was triggering me as I ate a second helping of box carrot cake yesterday and I'm pretty sure I've identified it and need to come up with a replacement activity. I think the thing is ..when I have so many things to do and being pulled in all directions at the same time, I am getting overwhelmed and that's when I don't care anymore and just reach for easy and not great food.
So I'm going to do a few things to combat - try to clarify what hours are going to what task, instead of trying to do all of them at once; and, if I feel that feeling coming on, either go for a walk in the garden or weed for 15 minutes and recalibrate my brain as to what to focus on; and finally, at least have healthy easy snacks available.
Everyone do a rain dance for New England....garden dry as a bone and I can't plant the tomatoes in it like that. TY5 -
@stefbomb2020 - What a fantastic job, You are beautiful...
@eponymoose I would love to have that on my doorstep, Good Job on staying on track !
@conleywoods Way to go finding out what foods are helping to keep you full longer, It's probably time I do that, I seem to get in ruts, and need to change things up every now and again...
@Terytha This moment in history is alot to take, there is so much going on, and none of it is positive.. I hope you can find a slice of hope to hold on to.
We have some positivity in Baltimore, 5 years ago our city was out of control with riots and such, this time is different.. The people who are trying to incite the violence and mayhem are being squashed quickly by the peaceful protesters, not the police, they learned that they will be heard, and they have been heard, but that the mayhem helps no one, and it's just not welcome here, The police are also joining with the protesters in lieu facing against them, quite a good change for our city...
Some sad news, there was a murder/suicide of 2 Airmen at my sons base, this saddens me so much, and as a mom whose youngest son is there, by himself, and yeah... it's tough... It's to normal of an occurrence in our military...
So I checked off all my goals yesterday, and did 3 miles this morning. The scale will probably not go back down quickly enough for me to show a loss on Saturday, but it's okay, I'm just glad I got back into the swing of things and didn't linger too long in " ehhh it's fine" land...
My steps for 6/3 ( I can't believe it's JUNE already ! ) are 12,061 & 15 min of yoga
Have a great day !

It's Thursday!
As always, it is a pleasure reading your news, even when some of it is really tough. I understand the pain of suicides in the military, @Gidgitgoescrazy - my daughter (in the Canadian Army) has lost a few colleagues and every one of those deaths pains all service members everywhere. It is an intense environment, and the people who go into the military are sometimes lost and troubled to begin with. For many, it is an amazing turn around where they learn the meaning of a team, they take responsibility, and they find their way through all kinds of difficulties. For some it can be overwhelming. Send your son some hugs from my family.
@evelynladams527 - sistah mine! You are back from your walk before coffee? You are making another walk later? The answer is yes, right??? OK, enough from the mean big sis. Yes, Sarah can squeak in for this month but best if her weigh-in is Friday or Saturday, and even better if she has a weight from last Friday or Saturday as a starting weight. It will be lovely to have one more with us! Get her on it!
I have to get out there and find more exercise today or I'm going to spontaneously combust!
Two weigh-ins still due today:
@conleywoods
@mhariankhatibau12
Here's to the collarbone - and to a good Thursday -
