@1theresamcvean thank you for stepping into the co-captain shoes. I have enjoyed getting to know you on our team and look forward to your greater role with Team WNM.
Thanks, Nancy. I've learned so much from you, including intermittent fasting in a somewhat more moderate way. I was worried that I couldn't do it at all and then you chronicled the way you approached it and I wasn't afraid to try it out. I'm really happy I did.2 -
@kirsten11872 Amazing loss and for the second week in a row. After all you have been through in your area with the severity of Covid, homeschooling, and everything else, you must feel great!3
-
@sleepymom5 I read your message with my breath held until I saw you were staying with the team - so pleased to hear that! Thank you for all you have done in the leader role, and happy to know you are taking time for yourself and your family. Much love to you x
And @1theresamcvean Yay! Congratulations on the promotion!!!! So glad you have stepped into the role x3 -
Check in for past few days:
Thursday: Food logged and under and a good workout done. After the rain stopped and my working day was over, my daughter and I went for a walk. Found some massive muddy puddles that Violet loved jumping in.... and discovered her wellies had a massive hole!
Friday: Food logged and under (only just!). Hour BodyAttack workout. After Ben had finished his school work we headed to town as he had outgrown his shoes during lockdown. Many of our "non-essential" shops opened this week, but was quite a weird experience. It was myself and both kids and we had quite a successful shop - bought each of them new PJs, trainers, wellies and socks. They were really well behaved whilst shopping (very rare!), so we also went to the toy shop and got them a small thing each. Once home, wellies were donned and kids and I headed back to the puddles - they had shrunk since yesterday, but kids still had great fun! Both drenched by the time we got home!
Dinner was Indian takeaway - had chicken shashlick and naan, so no really high calorie sauces!
Saturday: still happening at the moment, but have gone over my calories by a bottle of wine......5 -
@sleepymom5 I was getting really nervous and scared while reading your post. I thought you were gonna say that you were leaving and I don't think I could handle that cause you're one of the people here that I am most comfortable with. I love everyone here, but I'm such a shy, nervous person with so much anxiety, that it's hard to feel comfortable around almost everyone. 😥 But SO GLAD to hear that you're not leaving the team! Phew!
Also, I LOVE Daisy!! She is beautiful! Is she a Golden Doodle?3 -
@sleepymom5 I am so glad you are staying with the team. I have learned a lot from your posts about weight control and life. Enjoy your time with Jim and the family, you have earned some time off from being team captain.2

@sleepymom5 Thank you for all you have done for this group! I feel like we have a lot in common and you have been a great team captain and friend!
@Cafelelia and @1theresamcvean thank you for stepping up and leading us!
@bburrer30 I feel you frustration and pain! I have been doing everything in my power to keep my parents out of an assisted living place. And your story keeps me going on this crazy and extremely challenging journey. Hang in there! I was telling my friend the other day that we are just stuck in traffic, we know we will eventually get to our destination, it is just taking longer due to traffic. It's a Los Angeles thing, sitting in traffic.
@Cafelelia sorry I am late on the my weigh in.

I've been MIA because I fired the caregiving agency we were using for my parents and went to private hired care. Lots more work up front interviewing, setting up payroll, workers comp and paperwork for the long term health insurance. but it will be worth it because I have better people in the house.
With all the work and stress I did not track this week, I did not walk as much and I ate a lot of junk food. Finished off the week today with a great long walk with my husband, 7 miles on the beach. But since it is his birthday today, I had to indulge in his birthday cake.
I just can't break this cycle of moving up and down within 5 pounds! Any suggestions on how to get motivated to stick to tracking and the plan? Maybe I need to take a break?

@1theresamcvean there are several flavors. I belong to a FB group called vegan Costco. Everyone raves about this sauce. I got it at my local market. It really is delicious. I have heard there is a copycat recipe out there if you can’t find the product. I got the chipotle flavor. The other that I mentioned is chili crunch. It’s $19 a bottle from Amazon. I LOVE this stuff! I’m almost done with the bottle. I ordered 3 more last night. It was $38 for 3 so I will give my daughter one.
And for another decadent treat try Sunday Provisions pecan smash. Pricey but oh so delicious! I tried 3 flavors but the pecan Smash was my favorite. I ordered directly from their website.
I like to support small batch vendors.
Let me know if you try any of these
I also love Lava plain plant based yogurt.2 -

Yesterday was a Molly day. My mom had given Molly $ for her May birthday to buy clothes. Molly hates to shop. But we finally made it shopping. Went to Kohls for some amazing deals. She got 2 new bras, pair of really cute moss green shoes, 2 pairs of pants and a large pile of tops and shirts. I also made her breakfast, lunch and dinner. Plus I’m now officially her hair designer. She ordered me clippers. I cut it short on back and sides but striving for some natural curls on the top. She loved it!
Today is first day of pool and Mexican fiesta for Father’s Day. I told dad I would make his favorite dessert. He chose ambrosia salad. He loves that stuff. I made a vegan version yesterday ready to party. Making Spanish rice and 2 pineapple upside down cakes. Mom making salsa and tostados. Dad my favorite pinto beans. Molly pina coladas.
Hope you all enjoy your Sunday.
I’m moving slow this morning but getting ready to start my day.3 -

@xX_PhoenixRising_Xx I hate that you have those migraines. I had them for a LOT of years and took Imitrex injections for a while before switching to the pill form. My headaches would last from a few hours up to several days. The Imitrex was instant relief. the worst headache I had lasted 10 days and nights and was torture. I ended up getting a Demerol injection which knocked me out for a day and a half. There are several new drugs now for migraines. Hopefully one of them will help you.1

A good day yesterday. I got a ton done around the house. I did my PT early since I haven't been consistent with it but never got a walk in. Today the kids are coming over for a barbecue. Jim wants everyone to go on a 5 mile hike with him. It depends how ready I am for the barbecue. The kids got him a TV for Father's day. When he first came home from the hospital, we set up his office on the first floor as his bedroom. Wouldn't you know, the tv died the first day he was home. Danny brought one of his over and set it up. We never replaced it so I suggested that they give him a TV. Danny is going to set it up when Jim goes for his walk. I got him shorts that fit him since he his waist is 4 inches smaller, new sneakers, a new fitbit and a little belt to hold a water bottle that he probably wont use. Lol! Worth a try with the hot weather. It should be a nice day.
Hope everyone has a wonderful Sunday! Happy Father's day to all the fathers in your lives, past and present! xo
@Mrsbell8well Thanks for the kind words. Your deck looks beautiful! Sounds like a good day yesterday. Too bad I didn't know you were going to Kohls, I had Kohl's cash Lol! I ended up giving it to Nicole. Kohl's cash stresses me out, I don't want to waste it. Lol!
@1theresamcvean You have the nicest heart! You seem to help anyone in need. Hugs! Those unicorns are so cute! People have upped their game with creativity! The comment from your husband seriously made me Lol!
@kirsten11872 Nice loss! Doing great!
@annliz23 Little ones can wipe you out! Like I said on the other page, I can't wait but looks like I have a while before I get any grandchildren.
@nstephenson01 Thank you for your kind words. I love this team so I wanted to stay. I just don't have the time to devote to captain.
@Freeglerock Thank you! I do enjoy being here and learn so much so I am not going anywhere! Love the pics of your kids, they are so cute! You are a fun Mom!
@CassieGetsFit2013 Thank you Cassie. I couldn't leave this team! And yes, Daisy is a golden doodle. More poodle than golden we think.
@pacsnc6 Thank you! I do love this team and I have learned so much from all of you. I couldn't leave, I would miss you all too much!
@xX_PhoenixRising_Xx Nice loss! I am glad you are having a better day today.
@timibotkin Just try to reel it in. The sooner the better. You got this girl!!
@JillyBT Thanks you! I feel the same way! I hope all this work you did in the beginning will end up freeing up a lot of time for you once it is in place. I am sorry that it has been so difficult. You would think that this is not an uncommon thing and these agencies would be better equipped to deal with these situations. Glad you are taking it in your own hands and getting a staff together that you are comfortable with. Sending hugs!
@twyla77 Nice loss there!

Angelina, I just went down the crunchy chili sauce rabbit hole The one you showed in a pic a while back isn't available in Canada. I found a small batch maker locally in my own neighbourhood and am buying a jar from her.
Here's the best part. The legendary Lao Gan Ma (Old Godmother) Spicy Chili Crisp Chili and Oil Hot Sauce is available everywhere, BUT after you watch this video, you're going to want to make your own. So, get out your gloves because, as the woman in this video says, "If you touch your face, you'll die." She also says she has the same haircut as the 'Old Godmother' on the jar. She's a super fan. I have gloves (mainly for when I deal with fresh turmeric), the Arbols, Japones, some Thai chilis, star anise, and most of the other ingredients. I'd really like to get some of the Kashmiri peppers, which are supposed to be fruity and not as hot. I'm going to take the heat down a notch with Guajillo and Pasillos. This is a great way to use up a wide variety of dried chilis and it's more of an inspiration than a recipe.
Even if you don't want to make your own, this is more entertaining than Netflix: https://www.seriouseats.com/recipes/2018/04/homemade-spicy-chili-crisp.html

Well, I'm so confused. So I lose 4lbs, then 2.8lbs, get to 200.2 then go up to 206 last week, now back to 200.6lbs. 🤷♀️ HOPEFULLY next week I'll see a 1 at the front instead of a 2!
@sleepymom5 I love Daisy and she does look like she has more Poodle than Golden from her curls, but I haven't seen what she looks like with it grown out. 😋 ADORABLE either way! 🥰 I hope to have one some day! I've seen mini ones and gah, they are precious!! Then again, there are SO MANY other breeds I want to have some day too! I just need to win the lottery so I can have more at one time! 😁4 -

Low on steps again this week, but I was super busy at work going up and down ladders. I was also on the order picker for About three hours Friday morning slinging five gallon buckets of paint around. When I was finished with that I only had around 3k steps in but I had closed my activity ring for the day!
@sleepymom5 I’m glad that you are staying with the group. I’ve always been amazed at
Your ability to keep up with all the post with everything else that you have had going on! Thank you for all that you have done. Here lately it seems like I can barely find time to check in on Saturday and Sunday for steps!4 -
@1theresamcvean oh how fortunate to find something local! I will check out your link. When I had a stall at the farmers market I used to make jalapeño popper muffins. My poor daughter was in charge of dicing the chili’s. Poor girl suffered the burn. Nothing works to soothe it but time.
I love both those chilies you mentioned. Guajillo for pozole and pasillos for pasta. Mom made chili rellenos with pasillos. A mild chili but I somehow ended up with an extremely hot one.1 -
Hello and happy Sunday everyone. I just popped in to say hello4

Not true...rinse all the areas of skin that touched the chile flesh/ribs/ seeds with white vinegar (I think apple cider would work, too). I'm no stranger to chile burns...3 -
Saturday check in
Food - on target
Water - 1.8l
Exercise - 30 minute run, 30 minute HIIT
Hurray, I managed to do a 3 km run yesterday! My leg held up pretty well, so I am happy about that. It is so hot here, but I am not complaining. I am having a busy day for Father’s Day. My husband had breakfast in bed, we gave him a Yeti cooler full of gifts, and we had a bbq. First time making beer can chicken, which turned out pretty well. My kids have hockey tonight and for my husband, that is something he wanted on Father’s Day, so I get a couple of hours to clean up and rest.
Happy Father’s Day to all of the fathers and father figures out there!
Theresa - Here is you COVID news for the day. Word has it that our government will announce tomorrow that Toronto and Peel will move to Phase 2 on Friday of this week. Our cases have been dropping for over 7 days and I think we had something like only 15 yesterday (and that is with massive amounts of testing). BUT, the teens & college kids had a huge dance party at Cherry Beach yesterday. I hope we don’t get “punished” more for that. Apparently, public health did not trace any COVID cases to the Trinity-Bellwoods mass gathering a few weeks ago, so maybe we will be ok. Get ready to go the salon and have a glass of wine on a restaurant patio!!3
