Everything had gone well today, and I was -32 calories after dinner. Then I had a virtual happy hour with my friend. A couple of glasses of chardonnay, my resistance down, I found myself binge-eating granola bars and bread. I need to have some protein-high, ready-made items in case this happens again. I still have a lot of time to make up for this bad day. I am tracking every day and my goal is to finish the month under calories for the 30 days. Lesson learned: always have some protein-high, easy to grab items for when the need to snack is overwhelming.
@richmondwriter
That is awesome that you and your friend are still able to enjoy a happy hour together, even if it is virtually. Maybe having a nice cheese and turkey snack with your wine would hit the spot?2 -

I can’t make this story up. After admitting I don’t have my motivation lately, I talked myself into going to walk a few miles to start the week right. I’m finishing up the last lap around the neighborhood I walk at. Even over the music in my noise cancelling headphones I hear the ice cream truck pulling up towards me and I swear he just went the same speed as me for a minute 😂 like he was thinking “there’s a fat guy, he probably wants ice cream”
The universe is not with me right now
I did NOT buy ice cream just for anyone curious, haha
That is funny. I can imagine you giving him the shake of the fist or the finger in your mind.
If that had been me it would have been a good thing that I don't keep cash on me when I am out for a walk, I would have given in, especially with this heat. @erikNJ1 -

@DaffyGirl88 I hope you made it through the storm alright!
We ended up getting hit much harder than predicted. Apparently, over 675,000 people are out of power, including us. We were pretty nervous with all the trees surrounding the house, but a few branches broke off for the most part. Our neighbors weren't so lucky with more trees down. It looks crazy outside this morning... I hope everyone ca get their power back soon!

Oh no. I hope you get your power back soon. Especially if it’s going to get hot again.
Over a million people in NJ lost power and won’t have it for days. We got lucky and didn’t lose ours2 -

@erikNJ I am glad you lucked out! This was a pretty intense storm! Shockingly, this storm brought more outages than Sandy and Gloria!1 -
@cmhubbard92 thanks for asking! Apparently 3 tornadoes touched down near our house and roads are washed out in several places. We're still on vacation so will see what it's like tomorrow when we head home. According to the fog sitter our neighborhood is unharmed but several roads are washed out so will probably have to take a few detours.3

I had a brownie 😬 it was soooo worth it! Hopefully not that bad of a reaction on the scale! I am hoping the power comes back on soon! So much food has to be thrown out, I hope we can save the frozen food! It's getting hot again 😬

@DaffygirI88 I am glad your neighborhood has been left unharmed. I'm sure it was scary for the people around. And for you, not knowing what was going to happen.1 -
