@trooworld No wonder I liked you off the bat, you're a libra! I'm kidding, my birthday is the 30th, let's throw a joint party!
@MommaGemz Nice loss, way to go!
@TeresaW1020 That yogurt sounds awesome! Sounds like you had a great day, wtg!
@raleighgirl09 Sounds like you're getting it back together! Go for that walk, tell yourself you only have to go for a couple minutes and if you're done at that point then hey, you at least did a few minutes so you DID it! If you keep going even better! I trick myself with that all the time, just one song, one chapter of a book, or 5 minutes and aside of this pain/limitation crap I usually get excited and keep going.
Thursday check-in
Calories- under
Exercise- arm cardio, resistance band stretching/yoga, earth energy/kundalini/chakra meditation
Today's worse than yesterday, I'm not sure why as I'm dialing back exercise and stopped as soon as my legs worsened and am laying around constantly (I'm going stir-crazy!). I'm on the second day of the Medrol dose pack. I have Norco but it doesn't really do anything for nerve pain so I'll probably save it for a rainy day. I thought I was doing so-so trying to hang in there for school but it turns out I ended up getting the old edition of the book I need for a class. I feel like less of a moron now, I've been slamming my professor with messages trying to figure out why nothing matched up, the scary part is I turned in two assignments and they were probably nonsense tables (database management). I won't be able to get the book on time so it's a bust, my assignment was late already so it would be starting the semester two week's behind if I tried to catch up in a week. Ironically my other class is one that builds on database management so hopefully I'll be able to tough it out, concentrating is tough and I have to sit on the couch with my legs elevated so it's hard to read the books and work on my laptop at the same time.
I DID get callbacks regarding my healthcare, just that my grievance forms were filed and then a woman from a managed healthcare company is taking my case and going after my insurance company. She's especially angry about the abnormal blood cells not being followed up on since it's the most dangerous issue to leave hanging (aside of my sanity dealing with pain!). If I keep getting worse I'm probably going to just keep going to the ER, that's the only thing that's helped calm my body down though I hate to use that as healthcare when supposedly I have insurance. I hate asking for help but I'm not getting it and there's not much I can do, my doctor's appointment is still two weeks away.5 -
Reading the various posts make something very clear to me. We are spread all over the world. Our backgrounds, circumstances, etc are as varied as the number of flowers in the world, but yet we all have a few things in common. We all struggle with our weight. If we didn't, we wouldn't be on this forum. We all need help. The way we need it may vary from one week to the next, but we all need each other. Be it in silent form by just clicking on like or hug, or actually passing a comment in response to a note. We all learn from each other. Some posts I have read here might as well have been written by me. Some I read, and I silently say I am so glad that is not me that wrote that note. Thanks for the support you all give me and each other. Today I am thankful that I have a roof over my head, food in my cupboards, loving family and friends. Also, it is warm and sunny outside. Spring is in the air and hopefully I can get lots of natural vitamin D.8

I am having a great week so far. I have been exercising daily (missed on Tuesday), but other than that I have been good calorie wise as well.3

@raleighgirl09 Drive safely!
@Katmary71 I am indeed a libra! Woo hoo, one joint birthday party coming up!!! I'm sorry you had the wrong book, that must have been really frustrating to find out (but also somewhat relieving). I hope you get the other one in time to catch up. I'm glad that you now have an ally re: your healthcare. Do what you have to do to get the help that you need.
@petrocoetsee Very insightful post. I hope you continue to have a good week.
Hello all. Today is a good day: pain-free (a little stiff, but that should get better as the day goes on) and I have the day off! I'm going to enjoy it. I don't have anything in particular planned, I may go get groceries today so that I can do more "things" tomorrow. I also plan on doing a YouTube dance video at some point today. Taking a hot bubble bath and relaxing. Enjoy the day!

@raleighgirl09 Yeah girl!! You got that number on the scale going back down and that is awesome! Now go celebrate by taking a really long walk. I’m the same with pumpkin flavor. I don’t go all crazy for it but I do love it and that Greek yogurt is sooo good and worth the carb splurge a couple of times a week. Plus, it’s only 80 calories.
@Katmary71 Yikes getting the wrong book is not a good start for you! I hope you will be able to get the new book and get back on track. That is great that you have someone going after the insurance company now.
@petrocoetsee I am so happy that you are having a great week and the post you wrote about our team was truly wonderful! I was just talking yesterday to the other two moderators of Fat2Fit and I was saying something very similar about how I see the teams. It’s so much more than a challenge group. We truly are a community and I am thankful to have you on my team!
@trooworld Enjoy your day off! Any weekend plans?
Hi Team! Well, I was super happy to lose a pound this week and I only need to lose 2.1 lbs. to be in Onderland. I am going to make it happen and soon!! I looked over my weight log for this year and January thru May were not good and I gained almost 10 lbs. Then on June 1st, I made a vow to myself to change my actions and finish the rest of the year strong. I saw the quote posted below this morning and I thought it fit perfectly. It really is about the daily choices that will get us all to the goals we want to achieve. That doesn’t mean we don’t have planned indulgence along the way. Tomorrow, I will be at a wedding and I will eat the food and enjoy a piece of cake. But I will also do those things that I know are working for me, like working out and fasting.

I’ve been a bit absent on here this week, sorry. I’ve been having issues accessing MFP Community on my browser all week, which is how I normally access. I don’t often use Community on the app as it’s not as good, but I’ve been reading all your posts, just not commenting much!
I’ve had a kind of average week. I have done exercise most days and been under on calories most days. Had a bit of work stress but have arranged a few days off starting next Thursday so I have that to look forward to!5 -

How do you make sure you get your exercise in?
I so sympathize with feeling flat out on time commitments as the school year starts!
On getting exercise in -- something that is working well for me is creating social pressure. My husband knows he needs to walk, too, so we have made an outdoor walk -- generally at least 45 minutes, longer if one of us is low on steps -- a daily thing. We walk in the evenings rather than the mornings, as the streets are quieter then. And we have made it kind of a stress-relieving treat. Our favorite walk takes us over a creek bridge, so we stop to check out the wildlife (currently owl and frog songs). Anyway, if one of us doesn't 'feel like' walking, the other nudges them into at least a walk around the block, which almost invariably turns into a full regular walk.
What are you doing? Share your great ideas & strategies!
Also, adding this, in case it offers some useful ideas:

Happy Saturday!
I have been absent, too, though thinking of people here. A combo of issues getting on, juggling extra family stuff, start of school year and just generally pulling things back together after the Big Project. And this is a great conversation, and I am thrilled to get to check in here, and read all your different stories.
@TwistedSassette
Great weigh-in! Congratulations!
Hurray to both exercise and calories under most days! Keep up the great work!
@jazzagirl30
Hurray! Great weigh-in! And despite the time crunch around school -- impressive!
@TeresaW1020
HUGE congratulations on this week's weight loss! Onederland is just around the corner! We are getting the virtual confetti ready!
I hope you are enjoying the wedding today!
Your story about looking at your weight log for the first half of the year, deciding to finish the year strong, and focusing on daily choices is super inspiring!
I have to skip yogurt, but am definitely feeling like it's time for something pumpkin flavored!
@trooworld
Yay to the relaxing and the hot bubble bath. Hot baths are the best. I have lived without indoor plumbing, and every so often I remember to feel grateful! I was feeling it last night -- hot Epsom salts bath.
What dance video did you end up doing? (I should add to my list!)
@petrocoetsee
Your check-in note was so lovely.
A big yes to the power of this conversation. We are all in so many places, and it is always great to catch up, even when we are not chiming in.
" a roof over my head, food in my cupboards, loving family and friends" - What a great reminder. I have had points in my life where I was short on most of these things, and it is great not to take them for granted.
Also -- it is so fun getting the reminder of seasons differing throughout the world. It is starting to think about being fall where I am. We had a cold snap for a few days -- temperatures down to 24C/75F. Now it's back up to 33C/90F, but that is still a drop from the high summer heat of a couple of weeks ago.
Which reminds me that the first Halloween decorations in our neighborhood on last night's walk. I have never seen anyone put up Halloween decorations this early, so I am thinking someone's feeling extra restless with all the staying home?
@Katmary71 - Oh, my. I am so sorry about the class and health issues all at the same time. It is super great that you have help in working on your health care. It is so great you have a great ally. You deserve it, and it so great you too the action to get that assistance. You always give back so much in the ways that you can.
I hope things are being manageable today.
@raleighgirl09
Did you get out and walk a bit? Even if you aren't hitting the step numbers you want, every step counts!
And, reflecting more on @petrocoetsee's check-in note and the idea of steps and supporting my husband around mobility and getting things done, I am reminded to be grateful for all that is working about my body. It's not the young pretty body I want when I look at magazines, but here I am. able to walk (which was a big problem for me in 2018).
@Cornanda
You are a super awesome encourager as well!
A big yes -- I agree with you on @petrocoetsee's check-in note being so powerful.
You are the most inspiringly determined person. Here's to that better week you are creating for yourself!2 -

@TeresaW1020 Thanks! No, no weekend plans, just trying to keep safe and healthy (the usual post-COVID weekend plans lol). About the only time I ever do anything is when I go over to my brother-in-law's apartment for a small family event (4 people). We'll probably do that for my birthday in a few weeks, so I'm looking forward to that. I've been pretty isolated other than that! You are soooo close to Onederland, it's totally possible you will get there in September! I hope you had fun at the wedding today.
@AustinRuadhain Yeah about that bubble bath...didn't happen yet! BUT I'm going to have one tonight. It's just been too hot. I'm so grateful the bathroom is almost done (just need lights!)! Yes to Epsom salts. I bought some lavender Epsom salts to add to my bath. I didn't end up doing the dance video either. Just been one of those weeks...
Hi all! Yesterday I had such good intentions. I ended up going to 3 different grocery stores to get groceries which took more out of me than I thought. Then I made these "Everything Cheese Coins" which are like thick cheese crackers. I *should* have started my day with exercise but the logistics didn't work out. By the time I got all of this done, I was too tired to exercise and it was too hot for a bubble bath. It was veg-on-the-couch city time. Today hasn't been much better.

Exercise- I do it first thing when I wake up which is something I thought I'd never do! I used to do it before dinner when I rode my exercise bike then started going late afternoon to the gym a few times a week. Last summer on vacation I'd have to get up super early if I wanted to hit my uncle's gym and I found I actually liked it, I wake up pretty fast and as soon as I listen to a favorite song or two I'm fired up. These days of YouTube workouts I get my coffee, check on MFP to see what's up in my feed, then drink my iced coffee while doing arm cardio, strength, and yoga. I then go outside and meditate and garden. It's a great way to start the day. And I was a night owl before I changed my diet and exercise!
Hilogirl, I can't remember if I posted my entire arm cardio playlist originally, here's that followed by seated cardio followed by dance then all my low impact exercises. Feel free to ask specifics! KymNonStop is my favorite as far as seated workouts go plus she's not as annoying as the rest of them. It's not organized for the most part, sorry about that!

Steps- 6,770 (I'm trying not to let it being under 10,000 bug me!)
Went to my brother's house for my Dad's birthday, talk about tough! DO I want wine? Sure! Cake, chocolate cupcakes, onion dip, ice cream? Heck yeah! And pass those fries too! I stayed strong because I'm on a diet for pain yet my pain is worse. Hm, make any sense to you? Me neither! But I stayed strong and ate fruit for dessert. I just channeled all my pain anxiety into being a dork with my nephews and making sure my dad had a good night while I sat like a bum with my legs elevated in the corner. It was great to see everyone and I love my family but it takes a lot of energy to deal with people, it's hard to explain, but it feels good to be back home.4 -

Lost - only a pound lost but considering this was my birthday week, I could have over indulged. I ate a birthday cake slice every day until Friday. So not bad.
Thankfully I've not been feeling like I hungry. I've had lasagne 3 days in a row at the beginning of the week but I practised portion control so not big portions.
Started eating rice, small portions but I need to walk over 1 hour a day to not gain weight.
Went for a long walk on Friday for 8.8 miles not the usual 10miles.
Brought some fresh fudge for my birthday but not devoured it yet. Meaning I don't have cravings. Maybe as I'm eating such had such high fat food like cheese I'm not hungry as much.
Started eating mackerel for the past two meals. It is so tasty.
Only managed to walk in the afternoon before dinner meal on Wed, Thu and Fri. Need to try and walk every evening.
GOALS
1. Eat mackerel and broccoli every dinner
2. Walk every afternoon for 30 mins before dinner
Have a good week ahead🥰

@Cornanda Glad you were finally able to get on MFP. I think many people are having an issue. I’m determined to have a good week to so let’s make it happen together!!
@AustinRuadhain Glad to see you checking in. You are missed when we don’t have your uplifting and encouraging posts. Yes, I am getting closer to that magical Onderland and it is going to happen! So get that confetti ready to fly!
@Hilogirl2018 Great weight loss this week! Keep up your awesome effort and you will get to that goal!
@trooworld I think I need that recipe for cheese crackers!
@Katymary71 That video dancing to the Pussycat Dolls song is so fun to watch! The girl Deja who is in the 30-minute dance video is one of the girls in my 10 Rounds program. She is the one I watch for keeping up with the moves. Great job on staying strong at your brother’s house and I really hope your new plan will start giving you some real results for your pain management.
@apple852hk Losing a pound on your birthday week is amazing and you should be super happy!
Good morning! Hubby and I went to the wedding of one of my co-workers yesterday. It was a sweet ceremony and we had a really good time. My weight did bounce up this morning, but I expected that with the higher carbs that I ate and all the sweet tea that I drank. Today, I am planning to eat really low carb and drink a ton of water. OK, I gotta go ready for church!

As a team we are doing pretty good. As a member, I need to pull my weight , excuse the pun, a little better. This week I coasted, with uneven exercises , better eating (than before) and some weird and time/nerves consuming work projects.
Tonight I’ll have a drink, it’s neighborhood happy hour, draw a line under this week and start fresh tomorrow.2 -
Congrats to all the losers this week! Keep it up, we're all doing so well. 70% recording a loss this week is amazing!
I had a little personal victory this morning. I weigh myself each morning for tracking purposes and I've been hovering just above 300lbs for a little while. But this morning, I finally went under! 299.8! Here's hoping it keeps dropping throughout the week since I officially weigh in on Fridays!
It's Monday morning here in Australia. I am unprepared for the week ahead, but did manage to scrounge up some food to bring to work so I won't go for a takeout lunch. I am working a short week, only 3 days, then taking a little leave until Wednesday next week - I'm looking forward to visiting my parents on their farm and spending a lot of time with my toddler who is in the middle of a language surge. Here's to a healthy, happy week for everyone!6 -

I wasn't even going to come on here. My depression has been out of control and so has my eating (obviously). I think TOM is probably about to visit soon, too. My son turned 25 today and I couldn't physically be there in Virginia with him. Thankfully several shipmates threw him a party yesterday and he and I linked PS4s today and spent 8 hours together virtually. I'm glad we can do that, but I just want to bust out in tears that I can't hug and kiss him and have him here. I have been eating crap nonstop. Like I am constantly feeling like I'm going to urp, but keep shoving crap in. I go to sleep and have nightmares. I wake up still full. I am really hating myself right now. I'm telling you all this for any sympathy. It's just my reality. I know I need to see my therapist. And my dietician, but she hasn't been meeting since COVID hit. I've gotta figure something out soon, tho.7
