@jugar I agree, it starts with the store and I try not to buy it. However, with family to consider, I do have to buy some triggers. For snacks, I usually buy preproportioned items, even thought they are more expensive. I think that's helpful for everyone. For sweets, again, I prefer to buy an ice cream sandwich over a tub of ice cream (this is a rare treat in my house). Typically, I bake sweets so I can control what goes into them. In the event I find myself binging, I can often stop by drinking a glass of water to cleanse my pallette and help me realize I am full.
And as for 99 days - I always start counting down this time of year. I love thinking about how things can be different. I would love to be in the mid 140s by New Years...but I will also be happy if I can maintain (instead of gain) between Thanksgiving and Christmas.
@micki48 Can you turn the news off? I became glued to the news last March. By summer, I was watching it, but not as much. Now that I am back to work, I hardly watch and I realize how much calmer I feel. While I feel it is important to know what is going on, the news can be very one sided, causing additional anxiety. I prefer to read it rather then watch it.5 -
Friday Weigh-in
PW: 195
CW: 190.8
Super happy with this. Very close to touching back into the 180s, as I was in late June. Gotta stick there this time! I had a NSV of sorts this week - in the past, I mostly cut alcohol out except on special occasions when calorie-counting, because it certainly adds up quickly. Plus, when I get a little into my drinks, I am MUCH more likely to think "Oh, I need dessert," and head to the corner store and ruin my week's progress haha. But, I bought a bottle of wine at my fave grocery store on Sunday, and Tues-Thurs I had a single (1!) glass with dinner each night. It was delicious and easy to count, and now I have 2 glasses left to celebrate a good weigh-in! I had also planned to do thai food takeout for dinner if I was happy with my weigh-in. I think I will add to that goal that before I order, I want to hit 15k steps, so 50% extra on my regular step goal. To minimize effects tomorrow
I have a plan to go hiking with friends tomorrow and I love getting steps in, in ways other than a long walk by myself on the weekends!
HAPPY WEEKEND ALL!6 -

I will take 99 days left for sure people. So my district ended up in the news last night for our covid cases. Our principal is in quarantine because her grandson tested positive. Our psychologist is also in quarantine because her daughter was exposed. Yikes we kinda need those people. I brought a bunch of stuff home and will get an office set up. I won't be surprised if we are back home soon. I am hoping my weight continues down for tomorrow. I'm not having much trouble staying in my calories, too busy to eat ha! Well, whatever happens at work I feel like I have done a ton of prep and I have a good foundation for at home or at work. Tomorrow I have my assistant with me and we are ignoring all the paperwork and hanging out with kids in the classrooms!
I am so sorry to hear that. Our district started out working from home and it's actually going OK. They keep talking about going to the hybrid model (kids go into school for half days) by Nov. 2, but when I hear news like this I wonder if it will happen. Good luck! Stay well.0 -
@jugar I had my weigh in day yesterday for a small gain. Today I have a loss. Can you please change it? My new CW is 214.85

I pre-ordered a PS5!!!! I'm just screaming right now omg.
Get ready because when I pick that thing up in November you won't see me again for months lol.5 -

All things considered it could have been much worse. My husband is out of town for 10 days working and I have found myself grazing instead of taking time to prepare proper meals. Makes it way too easy to overeat!
But the last 2 days have been better so maybe I am back in the groove looking to Dec 31!4 -

Haha, what game(s) are you getting?? I'm a gamer too but I'm still hooked on my Nintendo switch at the moment so PS5 can wait for me. I'm just playing Zelda BOTW for the first time0 -
@micki48 So sorry to hear the world is causing you stress. I find these days I have to compartmentalize everything into what is in my sphere of influence, and what is outside. So I focus only on the things where my actions can make a difference and consciously let go of the things I can't do anything about. Not sure if that is helpful but it has been working for me.
@Gidgitgoescrazy Happy camping! That is my happy place as well although sadly there has been very little of it this summer.
@Kali225 Well done, both on the scale and the wine bottle!
@conleywoods So many things being re-invented these days. Good luck on finding what you can make work for the kidlets.
@Terytha Happy PS5 dance!!4 -

My husband just picked up BOTW too. He's really enjoying it.
As for me, I want Stray on the PS5 because who doesn't want to play as an adventuring cat wearing a tiny little backpack? I also want Final Fantasy 16 and Project Athia because wow, gorgeous.
We have all the consoles except the Xbox One, and most of the handhelds. Between us we've amassed hundreds of games. They have taken over the living room.
So yeah. Any given day involves any games on any platform, and thats the kind of people we are lol.2 -
Steps and exercise update 24th September
Steps - 2625
Exercise - 30 mins Tabata Strong (with weights)
Had an MS crash yesterday, which for me manifests as chronic fatigue. I crashed late morning so at least I got my workout done. Taking it easy today and getting fish and chips delivered for supper tonight (naughty but nice! )
Tomorrow I plan to catch up with some reading and start clearing out my son's old bedroom. And I am ordering a new front door.
I'm almost as excited about that as @Terytha is about her PS5!
And like @CanadianGiraffe , I compartmentalise my news consumption for the sake of my mental health.
Have a great weekend, Friends!
Be happy and stay safe7 -
What a Friday!
It looks like we're doing pretty well, folks - some amazing losses ( @Pearl4686 @KellyBgetsfit @Kali225 WTG!!!), and the joys of solo camping, PS5, new doors, fish and chips delivery, hair colour repair, and artwork. Nice. Of course, then there are the school quarantines, husbands in pain (I am on the exact same page with you @Gidgitgoescrazy - definitely lacking in the sweetness and light approach when it comes to men suffering and making sure we know it), too much news, and an MS episode. I am pleased to know that fish and chips delivery is a helpful treatment, and I know we are all sending many hugs to give you a low-calorie dessert @YinxFed !
I had a blast at a TRX class today - but boy am I going to be sore! I won't keep going to the class, but I have some new ideas for using the TRX more at home. Sometimes it helps just to get some inspiration. I was a bit worried about going to a gym, but the room was very large, only 8 people in the class, and each TRX was far enough apart that it did not feel too scary. I was certainly the oldest person there and it was a heckuva workout! And I kept my control when I had to go buy some food, so I'm feeling a bit more on track today. 97 more and January 1st will be looking good3 -
Hi everyone. Enjoyed reading your news. Some really great losses and great ideas. Thanks for the support. I am concentrating on the things I can do something about, but making a plan for a possible big life change is stressful along with a whole lot of uncertainty. Plus we’ve had three really gloomy days. On top of all that, my daughter was told at work this afternoon that one of her co-workers is positive for Covid19 (there are 15 people in the office, so not a big office). So they were sent home and told to get tested. Her doctor said wait until Monday so she doesn’t get a false negative. So now we wait. We don’t have to get tested unless she is positive. I really feel strongly that she is fine. We shall see.4

So please I have had a loss despite my indulgences last weekend - getting back to the gym definitely paid off!
@Terytha Omg yes the cat game looks amazing - that would be the temptation for me if any! I am also a big Final Fantasy fan (and gamer in general). Loved FF15 on the PS4. Let me know how the PS5 is when it comes! Hope it doesn't affect your MFP presence too much haha.3 -

Ok so I started my day off great FINALLY got a job offer at a pretty large bank down here YAAAY things may actually start to look up for me! Orrrr so I thought.. in my excitement I decided to go out and see if I could find a couple of new outfits before I headed to an appt with my husband. Didn’t find any clothes, but shoes though? I found those (as usual 🤦🏻♀️🤣)...so I do my shopping, then it’s time to head to my husbands work. Sitting at a red light and BAMMMM some lady got rear ended and she T-Boned me. Whole drivers side of my explorer SMASHED! So per my usual I got good news followed by the *kitten* show. I literally can never win. The officer handed me back my license and insurance card and said “Hey, welcome to Georgia, looks like you have a lot of work to do now” 🤦🏻♀️... In this mess we had a 4 car accident and not one person was seriously hurt THANK GOD! the 4th car there was a 7 month old baby and this sweet lil angel slept through the entire thing (that car also only got tapped. Had a scratch otherwise NO damage) I would have gladly taken all the damage to my vehicle to protect the baby though. My kids where at school which I was thankful for at that moment. Ok well anyways today is a new day, I started with coffee and a pumpkin muffin, because I’m a Basic *kitten* and I love ALLLLL things pumpkin!!! Hahaha sorry for the long post y’all even though I don’t post much I’m here every day reading your post, it truly gives me the motivation to keep going. You guys have a great day.8 -

It was lower even, but yesterday was a salt heavy sort of day. I went out for lunch and dinner. =P8 -
And now that I've been out shopping and returned, an NSV: size 10 jeans!!
I did it, I achieved a smaller pant size than I was able to wear even as a teen.
Even better, the jeans were 50% off. XD12 -

@jugar excuse my ignorance but what is TRX?
It's a cool exercise gadget that is basically 2 straps with handles on the ends hanging down from the ceiling (or a door). You get to look silly like this -
Or fabulous like this -
It was invented by some pumped up military guy so that the troops would not get out of shape when out somewhere with no equipment. Luckily, it is really easy to adjust the difficulty down to normal mortals level!

I AM SO IMPRESSED!!! You all are on fire. So many good losses reported today!
I have been avoiding being inside on line today - it is super warm and gorgeous out. It sure feels good after a week of near freezing temperatures and several nights of frost. The colours are at their peak too. This is the view while I am doing dishes.

@Terytha that is so awesome - what a great feeling in the new jeans I'll bet.
@jugar oh, that's a beautiful view - and I'll bet it's quiet too, only birds and wind...I yearn for quiet.
I'm battling the demons tonight but chose lemonade over wine and a satisfying quinoa bowl over potato chips. Now I'd best run to bed before the demons keep whispering in my ears....4 -
