Here is your Team chat room for October 2020. This is where you weigh in every week, post your goals and progress, discuss any issues or topics of interest, share ideas, support your teammates, receive help when you need it, and dream big. Try to post every day, and help each other succeed!

We have six great teams. The group and team leaders are as follows:

Our Moderators:
Liselyn - @jugar
Beka - @Beka3695

Megan - @Megan_smartiepants1970

Our Team Captains:
Mission Slimpossibles - @broncobuddee and @TeresaW1020
Trimstones - @mulecanter and @jessicakrall8
Weight No More - @1theresamcvean and @minstrelofsarcasm
Waist Aways - @jugar and @micki48
Shrinking Assets - @Boehle and @beka3695
Downsizers - @lindamtuck2018 and @Megan_smartiepants1970

Our Team Motivators:
Mission Slimpossibles - @AustinRuadhain @katmary71 and @raleighgirl09

Weight No More - @GingerPwr and @KUMEcyclingteam
Waist Aways - @Terytha and @conleywoods
Shrinking Assets - @hipari
Downsizers - @Marigorringo

HOW IT ALL WORKS:
Every challenger weighs in on their chosen day, every week without fail! At the end of each week, the tallies are done to determine the team and individuals with the most weight lost. The best losers are announced with full fanfare every Sunday. The team competition is all in good spirits - may the most losing win!

We also track those small, steady losses with the Green Week count. If you lose, however small an amount, it counts for 1 week in the green. The total will be by month, and cumulative - so you can really rack them up and get to your goal even if you never hit the top of the leaderboard.

In an effort to recognize accomplishments, we are using an optional addition to the weigh in format called LOSS TO DATE or LTD. Please just leave this new line off if you do not want to participate. Here is the new format:

Username
Weigh In Day
PW (Previous Weight):
CW (Current Weight):
LTD (Loss to Date):

If you need a week off, a break, a change of weigh-in day - just ask your Captain here on your team chat page. If you take a break, you are moved to the Support Team. If you miss two weigh-ins in a row without asking for a break, you will be dropped from the team, so be sure to ask if you are travelling, sick, or just needing some time off. You can remain on the Support Team for as long as you need to. You still participate in the discussions and weigh in if you want to, but your weigh-ins will not be counted on the weekly tally.

Once you reach your goal weight, you join the elite Goal Zone! After hitting your goal, you need support to stay there, and you can help your teammates join you. You must continue to weigh in every week, and if you have 2 weeks above your self-defined goal zone, you go back to the regular team to lose that amount before it builds up. You will have a chance to hone those maintenance skills and stick with your team!

In addition to your own team, there are F2F Full Group CHALLENGES. You can do all or none - it's up to you. Participating adds a lot to your success, so we hope to see you there often! These can involve anything fitness, health, or nutrition - and they’ll get you moving, thinking, and learning about this journey. Check the Announcements section for full group challenges.

Let’s show our fellow challengers some F2F love! Introduce yourselves right away, and let the new month begin!!

Hello everyone!!! Welcome to our new members - and welcome back returning members!! I am soooo glad you are all here! :)

I am Teresa one of the Fat2Fit moderators and your Mission Slimpossibles captain along with Mark (@broncobuddee) The Mission Slimpossibles also have three incredible motivators, @AustinRuadhain, @raleighgirl09, and @Katmary71 who work very hard to keep the conversations going and are always willing to give advice and support!

:star: Stuff you need to know! :star:

    1)Weekly Weigh-In
Please read the opening post so that you know how to correctly record your weigh-ins so that @broncobuddee can easily find you every week.

    2) Check-ins
Along with our weekly weigh-ins, we REALLY encourage our team members to participate in regular check-ins. It’s a great way to stay accountable to yourself and it allows the team to cheer you on and offer support as you need it. Remember the purpose of joining a group like this is not only for accountability to a weigh-in but also because working towards our goals helps when we are surrounded by like-minded people. We are stronger together!!

    3) Habit Tracker & Challenges
For added help in your health journey make sure to take advantage of our Habit Tracker and Challenges that you will find on our Home Page. Tracking our habits and doing the challenges will keep you mindful of your choices and help keep you motivated. “You’ll never change your life until you change something you do daily. The secret of your success is found in your daily routine.” ―John C. Maxwell

:star:Finally, let's get to know each other! Please share your name, where you live, and what brought you here to The Fat 2 Fit Challenge Group. If you have specific goals for this year, please share those as well. We are here to support and cheer you on! :)

I’ll go ahead with my introduction

As I said above, my name is Teresa! I'm 54-years-old and live in Georgia with my incredible husband, my mom, and our fur baby Maggie Mae. For the last four years I have been beyond blessed to be the ministry assistant at my small church. I also co-lead women’s ministry and am a teacher for our children’s church and a helper with our Wednesday night kids ministry, Awana. My favorite things to do are working jigsaw puzzles while listening to podcasts, searching Pinterest for yummy recipes, hanging out with my husband, playing with my dog, shopping, and going to church. I also love to workout and use Beachbody on Demand programs along with walking on my treadmill.
I’ve struggled with my weight most of my life with lots of ups and downs along the way. In 2018, when my weight was at its highest, I vowed that no matter how many times I stumbled I would NEVER give up on my goal to be at a healthy weight. In 2019, I learned about intermittent fasting and have fully embraced the IF lifestyle. I often tweak my eating plans and have done Weight Watchers, Keto, and currently, I’m doing carb cycling with a focus on low carb eating. I have lost over 60 lbs. and am determined to get the last 50 lbs off in 2021.

If you are interested in IF, I highly recommend Gin Stephen’s new book, “Fast, Feast, Repeat” and her podcast Intermittent Fasting Stories. I also think everyone should read Dr. Jason Fung’s, “Obesity Code.” It was lifechanging for me! I am passionate about this way of L*IF*E and am happy to talk with you at any time. Just drop me a message! 😉

As your captain, I promise to remain available and supportive! This group means so much to me as does the success of each one of you. <3

    OK…your turn to share! :)

@adhmrh Welcome Denise! :) Sounds like we have several things in common with us both working for our churches, having awesome husbands, parents in our home, dog lovers, and we are both doing IF and carb cycling! Several of us on here like a workout to videos. Some use YouTube. I have a Beachbody on Demand account and love all the different programs I can do. Have you looked into doing something like that?

@apple852hk You have done amazing with your weight loss and I’m so excited for you getting to go into maintenance. Yes, you may continue to lose and that will be great but now is the time to listen to your body and let it adjust to all the hard work you have done for it. You are NOT allowed to leave the Slimpossibles!! You are a part of our community and would be missed. Plus, those of us who are working towards our own weight loss goals need voices like yours to inspire us. However, did you know that F2F has its own Maintenance Discussion Thread? You might want to check it out. ;) To answer your question about tearing down puzzles. I don’t find it a waste at all and actually think it’s fun to break apart all the pieces from each other. By the time I’m almost finished with a puzzle, I am already thinking about the next one.

@emj90210 As I already told you, quitting smoking is incredible and you will never regret it. But I get that you want to lose the weight that you have gained. Especially since you are dealing with health issues. Giving up refined sugar is the best thing you can do next to stopping smoking. They really are two of the worst addictions we do to ourselves. I look forward to watching your progress and getting to know you! :)

Hi everyone, my name is Gabi, I’m 48 and leave in Northern Virginia. I’ve been married half my life (24y last week 😁) and have 2 girls, one in college and a teenager.
I did not have weight issues until my second pregnancy, so obviously I tried to solve it the wrong way. Yo-yo dieted for 14 years, and got so tired of all that negative feelings and the constant sensation of impending doom. I found this group 2 months ago, and the community chats, and it’s been an eye opener. So I’m going for my last 15lb with patience and slow and small steps, and hopefully with minimal self negative talk.
Welcome to all new members and let’s dive into October together!

Welcome to the new Slimpossibles!!! :D I live in Southern California with my husband and my dog. I'm on WW (the Green plan for those that are on WW too) and have been off and on WW for many, many years. I was always a healthy weight until in my early 20s when I went on certain medications and also developed some unhealthy eating habits. Now I have a significant weight problem! I'm in my 50s and need to lose about 77 lbs or so. Like Katmary71, I love to read. I also love to do artsy and craftsy things. That's me! :)

@apple852hk Your mother-in-law must be exhausting to be around. You must have to walk on eggshells. Ugh. My mother-in-law is a bit judgy and picky and critical and she's a germaphobe so I kind of have to deal with a little of that, but probably not on the level you are talking about. I'm glad you were able to unwind a bit with friends and your sister.

    Saturday:
    Calories: over/under: under
    Water: over/under: under
    Exercise: ----
    - track 90% of food intake - 100% accomplished
    - get at least 7 hours of sleep every night - 100% accomplished
    - drink 2 (26 oz) bottles of water a day - 50% accomplished
    - meditate for at least 15 minutes a day - 100% accomplished
    - put my utensil down between bites (CARRYOVER GOAL) - not accomplished
    - ask myself if I'm really hungry before eating anything (CARRYOVER GOAL) - 100% accomplished
    - leave at least 3 bites of food on my plate at each meal (CARRYOVER GOAL) - 100% accomplished
    _____________________________________________
    Goals or Improvements for tomorrow:
    - track 90% of food intake
    - get at least 7 hours of sleep every night
    - drink 2 (26 oz) bottles of water a day
    - meditate for at least 15 minutes a day
    - get up from my desk every hour and stretch
    - put my utensil down between bites (CARRYOVER GOAL)
    - ask myself if I'm really hungry before eating anything (CARRYOVER GOAL)
    - leave at least 3 bites of food on my plate at each meal (CARRYOVER GOAL)

Good Morning, I’m new to Slimpossibles. I have been on MFP for awhile but have never really committed to a group/exercise/food plan. Yes, I have commitment issues! 😜 But that is behind me....I turned 60 this year and it’s now or never! I have lost a little dabbling in IF. I would like to make a commitment to that. I have read Dr Jason Fung’s book The Obesity Code.

    Judikay4
Weigh in - Thursday (I changed that from when I originally signed up....is that ok?)
    PW - 250
    CW- 239.5
    LTD - 10.5

:star:The Green Challenge :star: Percentage of people who lost weight this week. No matter how small the loss the weights are recorded in green. Remember that even if your team doesn’t rank the highest in weight loss for the week you can still be the Green Percentage winner by having the most losses in your team! So keep it up!! B)

@GabiV125 Yayyy for continuing with the 100 Day Challenge! We have 89 days left and I encourage anyone who wants to jump on it with their goals and daily accountability. We are going to finish this year strong!! B)

@davidji82 Welcome David!! Please feel free to jump right in and make yourself at home. :)

@trooworld Have I told you how happy I am that you are on this team? If I haven’t you now know! <3 Keep up with those goals!

@judi_kay_4 I am so happy to have you join the group and look forward to getting to know you. If you read my opening post you will see that I am an avid believer in IF and have been doing it for almost two years. I also LOVE Dr. Jason Fung and his book was a total eye-opener. :)

Hello everyone! Today was pretty relaxed compared to my super busy day of planting 10 containers with flowers and greenery for my new screened-in porch. It’s now a very nice place to hang out. I did well on my goals today and have them posted below. Tomorrow morning I have to go get a root canal so I will appreciate your prayers and well wishes that all goes well and that I can finally be out of pain.

    100-Day Challenge Goals: Day 12
    1. Fast clean for 19+ hours, with 2 days at 23+ hours. Fasted 20 1/2 hours
    2. Workout six days a week (either BOD program, treadmill, or deep cleaning). I started a new BOD program called Little Obsessed. Gearing up for 80 Day Obsession.
    3. Eat at least 90% on plan, which means mostly low carb with one or two days of high-carbs. I ate mostly on plan but I did have a thick slice of some very delicious homemade bread my friend gave us.
    4. Have quiet time with God through prayer and reading. Went to church but didn’t do any Bible studying today.

Thanks for the workout ideas @TeresaW1020! We do have a lot in common! I am using some cardio that streams with Real Appeal, a program my insurance company gives me. Just not the same as working out in the water. But that is ok, I will still figure it out and get it done.

    @Katmary71 thanks for the welcome!!

Hello my new teammates! I have been on MFP off and on since, hmmmm, I think 2013. Been gaining and losing the same 12-15 lbs. My problem is I’ve never been able to master maintenance, so I lose weight and it creeps up slowly until I notice my pants are tight 😫

I’m trying some things different this time
    - engaging more with the community (Thank you, Mission Slimpossibles!) because I don’t need to do this alone and I think the accountability will help me a lot.
    - doing IF. I am usually done eating by 7pm and I don’t eat again till noon. And I’m trying to keep calories under 1400

I love to exercise, so that’s not my problem. I was going to OrangeTheory almost daily before gyms shut down but I ended buying a Peloton spin bike and I look forward to working out every day. My daily struggle really is my sweet tooth.

It’s been great to join y’all and reading all your stories!

I hope you all had a great Sunday!

I treated myself to a day of NOTHING! I've been working an insane amount of hours lately and I needed a day of doing nothing but watching tv to just reset. I did stay within (and under) my calories for the day - ate according to plan - and, drank plenty of water today. So it wasn't a total loss of a day!

With work being so busy I'm still going to try and check in here every day and be more engaged. I'm enjoying getting to know you guys already. And being part of a group is something that could be really helpful for me - but this is new for me.

So here's to a great first week! ;)

@apple852hk Don't be embarrassed to post, still do it! I don't like admitting when I'm over but it keeps me accountable. I think we've all gone through ups and downs enough not to judge each other but support one another. I love broccoli but I made a recipe last year with broccoli tossed in sesame oil and seasonings for the side and it was awesome, I usually use sesame oil for broccoli now.

@emj90210 how did day 5 of no sugar go? It's hard, isn't it!? I went two months without any sweetener then my birthday came, I swore it would never happen to me because I'm that person that scoops up leftover icing off people's plates and eats side salads to leave room for fat desserts but everything's super sweet now! Nothing tastes right anymore, I don't know if I should be happy everything tastes weird or upset that I screwed up my taste buds! I'm probably going to have a little honey or maple syrup but I'm even drinking my coffee without sweetener now. Anyhow, best of luck, you're almost through the worst of it.

    @marmar1977 welcome to the group!

@Davidji82 Welcome to the gang! Gamer? Wondering because of your avatar.

@trooworld How do you do your meditation? I'm really missing being outside on the grass but between the smoke and sitting being hard it's usually on the couch which isn't as grounding for me. I didn't have a weight issue until my 20s with medications as well.

@judi_kay_4 Welcome to the gang! You've already lost a good amount, way to go!

    @mariammuhindi Welcome to Slimpossibles!

@TeresaW1020 Prayers for your root canal surgery tomorrow and healing light! If you get nervous picture golden light around you, a teacher taught me that in high school, it's up to you how you interpret it from there but it's always calmed me and made me feel safe.

@Megan_smartiepants1970 Hi Megan, I recognize your name from my friend's feed, let's knock it out of the park this month, woot woot!

@itsmegina Welcome to the group! Wow, I think just about everyone is doing IF right now! I'll have to consider trying it again. Can't wait to get to know you.

    @vegan4lyfe2012 Great job staying accountable!

@FIrefly743 Sounds like you spent the day doing exactly what you should've done, I hope you're regenerated for the week.

@buniphuphu Great idea on the wetsuit, you're killing it in the water! No more snakes?

    Sunday check-in
    Calories- under
Exercise- chair cardio, dance, abs, 5 Tibetans, Kundalini yoga, chakra/earth meditation

The steroids are finally kicking in which is helping my mood a lot, being worse than ever last week was a tough week to feel that way with being a year older especially when the year before I'd just hit maintenance and was on top of the world was tough but there are good things that've happened this last year despite all this craziness. Still real smoky here, it's been difficult to sit but it's worse than before so I've been skipping sitting on the lawn and just stand for about a minute then meditate inside which isn't the same, I like feeling one with nature but it's the only way to do it. Making some headway on my homework, I was pulling my hair out because my professor in the class I'm behind in takes forever to answer emails but I'm almost caught up.
