I am still symptomatic so it is going to take a minute to turn those ❌’s to ✅’s. I moved a lot yesterday but it took a toll on me. Today my main goal is to track my food. Like a few of you talked about in your check ins: one thing at a time.

I read most of you but too much to reply to at this point. I will start replying as of today.
I’m back “on it” as of last Saturday. I was so disappointed in my weigh in as it just showed I had an 8.2 lb gain for the whole of 2020. I’m so disappointed about this but I know I can come back from it. So I’ve worked out everyday since then. Started the C25K program again and plan on getting back on my virtual Zumba classes.
I’ve tried logging my food and start off ok but then completely lose track and stop logging. I figure it’s ok. One step at a time. I’m getting my workouts in again and next I’ll focus on water habits again then food logging. I have cut back on my intake and started making healthier choices again I’m just not good at logging it all.
Sorry for my late step count. @Megan_smartiepants1970 here are my steps. It’s ok if they don’t count toward the tally.

Its exciting to start the New Year knowing we can do it and we have the tools, like you, I just have to use them and ....I will!!!1 -
Advice, I have a very sedentary job, hard to get in breaks/lunches really not a normal schedule and can be 16 hour days. I say this because I do not move much which is my big opportunity. My goal is to use the elliptical in the am for 30 min and use weights/stretches while working. Does anyone have any good leg strengthening exercise recommendations while sitting? My desk does not go up. that being said, I can stand for short periods of time if I am just watching or speaking.....so will take all ideas.
Have you checked out the under the desk mini elliptical1 -

1/3: 8,901 steps
I initially went to work this morning but we were surprisingly slow and properly staffed so they allowed me to leave early. It worked out great because I had a massive headache which I am trying to solve. I have been getting them the last 3 days and I think it is because a) caffeine withdrawal (lowering soda intake), b) lowering carbs, or c) my blood sugar getting too low because of fasting. I came home and lounged around trying to get rid of it and I did feel a little bit better after eating my yummy lunch (pictured below)!
I did a quick Fitbit guided workout and then decided to go for a walk/jog even though I really didn't want to. I am so glad that I did. I had the opportunity to think about a lot of things. A lot of those things being why I keep getting off track. I listen to all these motivational and self-improvement podcasts and things and I know what I am supposed to do but I struggle with doing those things. So I set some serious (but small) goals for myself as well as rewards and have them written down on my wall.
Goals:
1. Wake up on the first alarm
2. No more social media scrolling
3. Do something to get my heart pumping
4. Work out after work on hospital days (I found that my job offers a 24-hour gym and as long as you use it 3x per week minimum, they don't charge you for it. (Healthy team goal incentive)
5. 7,000 steps per day
6. Increase water intake
Rewards:
1. Self-care day once weekly (bubble bath, nail day, hair day, etc.)
2. When 20 pounds down (from today's weight) Victoria's Secret Shopping spree
3. When 50 pounds down (from today's weight) Tattoo
4. When goal met (Destination vacation, probably Gatlinburg!)
I am so pumped up and I think when I see those rewards it will keep me motivated. I may also take a pic and post it as my phone screen saver so that I see it constantly. Let's see how this goes!
That food looks super yum! What is it?
Great goals and rewards!!! I need to think about what I do for myself when I get to certain targets. Probably a new tattoo as well.... and I would love to go to the guy who did all my others, but he is a 7 hour plane ride away so..... that's a commitment haha
I love your ideas, thanks for posting them, they have given me some good ideas!!
[/quote]
Hey if you have a good artist, gotta support them lol. Maybe make that the reward for your end goal! And that is "spinach pizza" on whole wheat pita bread with garlic basil alfredo, spinach, and egg.1 -

As I sit here and think about my weight issues and how I feel in the different seasons, there is something about winter that just doesn't help with my mood or my enthusiasm to get up and move.
I guess it could be the lack of sunny days, the cold, I'm like a bear and just want to hibernate.
I find that I am much more energetic and seem to be more on target during the spring and summer, which is odd because those are my least favorite seasons. I'm personally an autumn girl and love autumn.
Has anyone else ever realized or recognize a certain time of the year you are able to focus better on your health/weight goals then other times?4 -

1/4: 9,152 steps
Worked at my desk job today so I am pretty happy with those steps. Came home and got the kids all ready and fresh for school restarting tomorrow and also made some more yummy meal prep. I left the house kinda frustrated so I left without bringing any food with me. I ended up ordering from this brand new restaurant that serves bowls so I ordered one with teriyaki chicken, buffalo cauliflower, roasted sweet potato, and served over a bed of basmati rice. (I did take a bite of the rice and throw it out lol) It got me thinking, I can make those at home with the multitude of things that I have. Sooooo...that's what I did!
I can mix and match the proteins with the sides and incorporate so many tasty options into it. I am LOVING this idea! Pictured above is some parmesan zucchini, roasted sweet potato chips, and I put it with some air fried chicken tenderloin over a bed of homemade rice. I am thinking of making a "mayochup" sauce for dipping the chicken in or maybe I will use the basil garlic alfredo from yesterday's pizza? The possibilities are endless!
Hope everyone had a great day! I got my walk in and now getting ready for bed! Morning comes early and I have one super excited and one not so excited kid returning to school tomorrow plus tomorrow is a hospital day for me! I will let you know how lunch goes!6 -
Hello all. I am sorry I haven't posted in for a bit. I am on a weird sorta vacation. I did not want to go anywhere due to Covid, but my husband said he would go alone. That made me very nervous because a few years ago he passed out while driving (vasal vagal issue.) So now I am in a rental condo doing my job where it's warmer. We are not doing anything that's dangerous. We have worked during the last 2 days and then biked or walked. I feel like it's somewhat safe. I have eaten well because I am trying not to eat sugar or gluten because they are inflammatory. I have had a lot of hip issues and this is what a doctor told me to try. I love gluten and sugar, but I've been doing well avoiding them. I'm feeling better, so all is well. Now that I have been eating well, I can't even weigh myself. Today is my weigh-in day, but I don't have a scale. That's rather sad because I feel like I have lost weight. I think it's a Murphy's Law situation - lol. I am glad to read everyone's posts as they keep me motivated. I hope to post more this week. Cheers to a good week.6

Food logged.
Under calorie budget.
Drank 128 oz. water.
Slept for 10 hours.
No exercise today.
Went to the doctors office today and had a CT and labs. I have a concussion. Will be halving my BP meds then check results in two weeks. Taking a break from exercise until the headache and nausea go away. Now to be strict about the diet since not moving much. Will probably maintain until I get moving again.
@draby2011 , that looks positively scrumptious! Your descriptions and photos make me wish that I liked to cook. Do you have an air fryer? If so, what do you make in it and do you like it?5
