I have a house guest! I am doggie sitting my Pastor and family’s chocolate lab, Ruby while they are away for a week visiting their family in Mississippi. She is outside all day with no one to really play with and sleeps in their enclosed porch which is their home school room by day. This has been quite an adventure for her as she is pretty isolated. She is loving the attention, walks, runs in a fenced in yard off leash and lots of dog training. It is so nice having a dog around again, even for just a week. Makes me realize how much I miss mine. And she is helping me get lots of walk miles in too.

Sounds like some cheering and coaching are in order! C'mon, @BELLE_74 and @ANACONDA469!! It's not out of reach...you can still make it! Give it your best shot!!
And yes, I too, have issues when I don't get my exercise fix...my sweetie notices my foulness and gently nudges me toward the treadmill or bike...for both of our sakes.

Yep, I think we are all suffering our own battle fatigue. The less I exercise, the more my body is rusting. Everything hurts anymore. Even playing tug of war with my visiting pup aggravated a pinched nerve. No more of that for me.1

Oops...I got sidetracked earlier! That's GOAL for @CLEPANT!!! Sorry you aggravated a nerve playing with the pup! You're right though, aging is not for wimps. Hang in there!

That's awesome! I know it probably doesn't feel like very long since you lost yours, but it's amazing how good dogs can make us feel. Even while we still grieve the dog we lost, a dog can be a great comfort and friend.1 -

sufferlandrian wrote: »@Sue - I hear you on that struggling to get miles leading to worsening mental health issues. The folks at work know when I haven’t been on my bike. When your wife says, “You need to go get on your bike.” You know it’s a real thing. Hopefully with the increased vaccinations in Portland you will be able to get outside soon. Hang in there.
Sadly Oregon has re-prioritized how the vaccines will be distributed. School Teachers have taken the place of senior citizens on the list. So I am told my age group had been moved to October. Unless the new administration comes up with a huge load of vaccines for the states. School teachers/instructors definitely need the vaccines so being moved way down the priority list is ok. It just means that I will be locked up for 2021 as well and living alone just makes it worse and more lonely.0 -

And that's GOAL for @GRANDMAJACKIE and @LIBI_KK!! Sorry I missed updating yesterday.
@SUFFERLANDRIAN - Sorry to hear you're getting bumped down the list. At least it doesn't sound like it's for a bad reason. Hopefully it won't take until October for you to get yours.
Have a great weekend, everyone!
