Thank you, but this week I swear it is just good luck! Or payback from weeks in January where I was walking a lot, eating with such discipline and nothing was happening. I was thinking that it was just going to be hell for the last 20 or 30 pounds. But maybe not? Maybe just different?
I'm thinking that your March 1 weight in is maybe going to have you dancing on the ceiling!
I hope I will be doing cartwheels lol...your whoosh did probably catch up with you from last month...it’s crazy how it does that!1 -
My trip was a great success. I needed that time alone to recharge. It however was not a weight loss success. I had no expectations that I would have lost weight while I was there. I ate what I wanted when I wanted. I tried all the Mardi Gras samples from different countries. I weighed in at +7lbs yesterday. I know I didn’t gain 7 lbs in three days. I know airplane and heat play a part in retaining water. I was down a whole lb this morning so it is coming off. Even if I gained a lb or two it was so worth it!!6

Glad you enjoyed your trip!0

I did it! I'm finally under 300 pounds, ahhhhh! I almost cried this morning when I saw it on the scales!
I'm worried about losing too much too fast, though. I'm trying to force myself to eat more, unfortunately I'm on a pretty strict low FODMAP diet, so, it's hard to find things I'm able to eat that allow me to get up in my calories. Or, well, I should say, it's hard for me to find "healthy" liver/diabetic friendly things to eat that I can build up my calories I could eat plenty of plain potato chips and stuff, easily, on this diet. But, not exactly friendly for my liver issues and diabetes.
(Also had to edit... I kinda forgot I had a birthday recently and am now 38... :P)8 -
@_inHisGrace Terrific progress, congratulations!!
@rieraclaelin We have to get a word like "onederland" for beating the 300 mark. We have to, it's a great milestone! Also, happy birthday!
On the Balkan front, good progress this week. Needed that.

@Dante_80 , I agree, we need something to call getting into the 200's! I was so excited to see it, I haven't seen those numbers in over ten years
Congrats on yours so far! ♥️3 -

Congratulations - what a great accomplishment you have gifted yourself!
I love words and will put a beanie on for the onederland equivalent. Maybe you can start a new thread and people can chime in with ideas???

I have a few other trigger dates. I had surgery last March and didn't weigh in a lot, when I did I found I lost weight without really doing much work (wasn't that well and at home didn't snack a lot). Gained 6 pounds at the end of last year and started a contest with the boyfriend. From Jan 21 until May 28 we set goals (18 weeks, me 25 pounds). At each 5 pound loss you get a prize (non-food) and at 50% of goal you get another prize. If you hit goal 2 weeks before the end you get another prize. Helps keep things interesting. So for that contest I started at 204 and clocked in today at 190.2, down 13.8 pounds so I get my half-way prize! Woot. Oh, we each put up $500 so if we don't hit goal the money goes to the local food bank and if we hit goal it goes to a vacation when we get vaccinated.
Here is my full story in spreadsheet form if you're interested.

I just cut and paste this from my last "share your numbers" and forgot to delete "Lost since last Monday: 5.4 lbs!!!" - that is not the case! I've only managed to lose just over 2 pounds in the last 2 1/2 weeks.1 -
That is still a great loss...my body seems to love the weight i am presently at...I weigh 2 lbs less than I did after the holidays!...at least I lost the gain from the binge episode but now I want it to start going down again faster!...hopefully I can swim the next four or five days, but then I eat more because of exercising I am hungrier!...maybe I should strive for a 300 calorie burn instead of 900 and then I wouldn’t be as hungry?...lol1

@conniewilkins56 here is hoping you have a big woosh coming?
Thanks for the uplifting words - but honestly, losing just over 2 lbs in 2 1/2 weeks of struggling and managing to maintain a high deficit (except for my son's birthday) didn't feel like a great loss. This morning's breakthrough was all the sweeter for it though and I was really happy when I realized that I had crossed over to a new BMI category. That put a dent in yesterday's disappointment after recording a skimpy 1/2 pound difference from 17 days ago!2 -
Many congrats @lauriekallis , that is indeed a great milestone!
Little progress this week. In more hopeful news though, I now have less than 10kg remaining to move away from the Class III Obesity category.

Thank you, @Dante_80.
I've suddenly stopped dismissing BMI categories...lol. But that is mainly because I have so much less muscle than I used to have at 190lbs (working in construction/landscaping). "Back then" that weight felt right and the BMI score of 28 with its classification of "overweight" felt wrong. BMI has no capacity for taking body composition into account.
This new BMI score will make the doctors happier though.
And it is so nice to have something to aim for in this quite isolated world of weight loss. Thank goodness for MFP and this group.4 -
I know I don't post here very often but I do usually read your posts daily. I appreciate all the support and sharing of successes and struggles. For us "larger losers", this is a long process. (Never-ending really if we include maintenance.)
Anyway, I just had to share. I reached my original goal weight today. My impossible, pie-in-the-sky, miracle if it ever happens, goal weight. I started this time on 4/17/19 at 415.8 pounds with my highest weight ever at 435 on 11/1/18. I set my goal weight at 160, thinking it would be a miracle to get below 300, let alone to onederland. Today, about 22.5 months later, I weighed in at 158.6. I now know 160 is not my final goal weight. I'm technically still at an "overweight" BMI and have more fat to lose. I think my final goal will be somewhere between 130 and 150 but I don't know for sure. I hope to know it when I see it--a healthy but sustainable weight. Right now, though, I'm doing a happy dance. I probably haven't seen the 150s on the scale in about 40 years.
Hope you all have (or had) a great rest of your Sunday!9
