Went over a bit on calories but im trying a new thing for May with the advice of my fellow Uac peeps. This month ill be focusing on my weekly calories instead of daily. Im also no longer seeing days as pass days as for me personally this results in a whole heap of overeating as i hve the i can go all out mentality. So long story short im hoping that through the week i can make up the 200 extra calories i ate yest which will mean its not a pass day. 🤞 Ill let u guys know how it goes. Congrats to all the winners and champions u guys are truly amazing and inspirational! Looking forward to another great month with you all. Xox

Here we are in a new month, new beginning. I weighed myself this morning and saw a spike up to just under 50kg. I lost weight in the first two/three months of the year, dropping below my preferred maintenance range. My DIL was worried about me but I told her it was only temporary, caused by stress. I have been gaining weight through April, and am happy where I am now.
I am devastated by the loss of my son but the stress of knowing he was sick and watching him deteriorate is over now. Grief has different effects and I am working at dealing with it.

I’ve had a tough time recently and it will take a long time to get back to some approximation of normality but I can try to focus on the three rules of UAC.

My goals for May include exercise, nutrition, and contacting friends.

Today I had a good bike ride and a walk outside – time to appreciate nature.
I logged all my food and drinks.
I am below my calorie allowance.

    Yes, yes, yes.

Congratulations to all those in the Winners Circle!

I'm so sorry for your loss.

Lots of food but also lots of exercise
For some reason though MFP hasn't let me close my diary the last two nights-- either in the app or on the web. Oh well.

It’s almost 10 pm and we have just gotten to the hotel.
    Amazingly
It’s a 3 yes day. Got my walking in very early in the morning. After 6 months living in the desert, it was lovely to see & feel a morning fog.
This was day 3 of 4 on the road home from Phoenix to near Chicago

    Excited for the new month!

    Exercise:✅
    Tracked:✅
    Under:✅

Saw a new chiropractor today( the second one I’ve seen since we moved to TN. Didn’t care for the first one and have gone back to see my chiropractor in NC on a few visits back) and she suggested I take 2 weeks off from exercise as my hip area is inflamed. I must’ve looked at her like she had 2 heads. I told her I only jog 3-4 days a week and do my spin bike the other days so it’s not too much stress on my body. She says it still would be. It doesn’t even hurt when I jog, I just feel more of an “awareness” of my hip the last mile or so. It bothers me when I sleep at night. Or try to sleep; it wakes me up when I turn over while sleeping. I’m thinking about wearing a mask and going back to the fitness center where I live ( there’s usually no one even there) and use the elliptical. Or find another chiropractor! Maintaining weight loss aside, exercise is the only thing that lets me get rid of stress and keep my sanity.

    Tracked:✅
    Under:✅

@clutterqueen, I understand. I sometimes have bursitis in one hip after steep (up & down) hikes. I know it’s hard to really rest it. I use an Ultravolt (deep massager) when my hip acts up (my theory is other tight muscles aggravate the bursitis. I also make sure to ice the hip.

I keep walking, but choose flat trails & walk more slowly. Usually I’m ok in 1-2 days of doing that.

My SIL was told to stop riding her Peleton for a few weeks for the same reason as you. she still does her pretty fast walks & Her hips have healed. So perhaps skip the spin bike & do gentle walks instead of the jogs for the 2 weeks? Or really rest & focus on upper body? Swim?
