Stayed within budgeted calories.
Entered all food and exercise.
Happy with day 1🥳7 -
Returning after a long absence. Due to life circumstances it feels like I am starting over from scratch. More of my story will be in Introductions.
Did I exercise for at least 20 minutes? Yes (Walking, 30 mins)
Did I stay within my calorie budget for the day? Yes
Did I keep track of everything I ate and drank? Yes
Was prepared to start this month with a pass, but when all calories for the day were totalled they came in under budget.
Last note is congratulations to all who finished with UAC last month (especially those who made circle). UAC is the hardest challenge on MFP. Those who make it to the end of the month are winners in my book.13 -

@craigo3154 so glad to see you back! I’ll head to introductions to learn mire!2 -
An ok day. I used some exercise calories which I don’t normally do. Morning beachfront run and a busy day at work kept me active, but I also did fit in my 10 minute yoga session which I’ve been skipping.
Fairly decent food choices overall but logged it all.
At least no pass required.5 -
Welcome back to you @craigo3154!
Today I did the Cooper Test. Back in NOV2020, I was "AVERAGE" for my age and gender according to the Cooper Test (I jogged 1.5 miles in 16:15 and could only do 21 modified push-ups).
The Dream
Once upon a time (also known as yesterday), I typed, "Ideally, I'll be sub-14 min for the running portion and able to do a substantial number of traditional push-ups instead of modified ones."
The Reality
I ran 1.5 miles in 14:02 and did 25 modified pushups (the 25th one was poor form and therefore HIGHLY questionable). Despite all that, I am now "EXCELLENT" for my age and gender according to the Cooper Test.
But as life would have it, I remain unsatisfied and will do better when I try this again in NOV2021. So,the New Dream is to run 1.5 miles in 13:00 and do 25 traditional push-ups instead of modified ones.
I'm posting early today because I logged my meals in advance and wanna go out shopping then tuck in early...
---|---|---|--
Did I exercise for at least 20 minutes? YES | Cooper Test (15), Stretching (20) TOTAL: 35
Did I stay within my calorie budget for the day? YES | *Base + 276
Did I keep track of everything I ate and drank? YES
---|---|---|---
*NOTE: Stretching counted as half the calories
Personal Bonus: Did I meet my protein macro for the day (40%)? YES |40%
Pass Days Used:
Finally, as I've done on the first of every month thus far, I'll list my accomplishments. With the help of UAC participation over the past month, I've been able to:
* Average over 35g of fiber daily
* Trend comfortably under 22% body fat percentage
* Go swimsuit shopping (the last time I was swimming was in a Mommy & Me class...15 years ago). I'm returning to the store today to go see if the orange swimsuit I liked is still there 🤞🏿
And, since joining UAC in October 2020, I've lost a total of 4.9% body fat and gained 2.0% in lean body mass. I'm trying to figure out how to improve this ratio so as to pack on more lean muscle faster.
Other goals for May...
* Resume Gyrotronic sessions with my instructor, Take 2 (our pandemic lockdown got reinstated)
* Continue my splits training/stretching program (by Leap Fitness Group)
* Do traditional pushups as per Cooper Test criteria5 -

Oh @craigo3154 !!! I have missed you SO MUCH! Thrilled to see your message this morning. I’m beginning my 38th month in here & you & @RangerRickL have been invaluable to my successes!! Using much of what I learned from you both, I reached goal weight & have now maintained for 2-2/3 YEARS. Thank you for helping create a MIRACLE!

Here we are in a new month, new beginning. I weighed myself this morning and saw a spike up to just under 50kg. I lost weight in the first two/three months of the year, dropping below my preferred maintenance range. My DIL was worried about me but I told her it was only temporary, caused by stress. I have been gaining weight through April, and am happy where I am now.
I am devastated by the loss of my son but the stress of knowing he was sick and watching him deteriorate is over now. Grief has different effects and I am working at dealing with it.
I’ve had a tough time recently and it will take a long time to get back to some approximation of normality but I can try to focus on the three rules of UAC.
My goals for May include exercise, nutrition, and contacting friends.
Today I had a good bike ride and a walk outside – time to appreciate nature.
I logged all my food and drinks.
I am below my calorie allowance.
Yes, yes, yes.
Congratulations to all those in the Winners Circle!12 -

Exercise - yes 20 mins yoga, 15 mins stair climber and a bit of walking.

Thanks Jan! aka @jan110144
I decided I’d do whatever it takes. I was also very envious of you and *everyone else* who lost so quickly. I took the long, slow route LOL glad you are here! There are many horse lovers in here!

Congrats to all the April winners! 🎉🤗
Exercise: ✅ 45 min walk
Calories: ✅
Tracking: ✅
Seems I’m having some side effects from my second dose of Moderna yesterday. Boo 👎🏻. Got a slow 45 min walk in when I was feeling up to it today. Cancelled class tomorrow as my temp started to creep up this evening (figured I’d open the spot for someone on the wait list who could get more out of it than me). I plan on getting at least a 30 min walk in tomorrow when I can, hoping the side effects don’t get too bad. Mainly I’m just exhausted and my body aches. Gonna rest as much as I can though to move past it quickly and shift into high gear for May.
@MaltedTea - great job on the improvement on the Coopers Test. I am intrigued by it and may need to check it out myself. 😊8 -
All three but barely second covid shot and feeling rather useless maybe tomorrow a better day good luck to all this month just remember we are all winners no matter where we end up on 5/31.

Off to a good start for May. Still trying to determine a new calorie goal as I transition into maintenance, but for now I'm just going to focus on eating back my exercise calories.6 -
Congrats to all the winners for April! Also, @MaltedTea that's pretty awesome!
I did a 30 minute yoga class today. My goals for the month are to get back into my daily yoga and to be more consistent about strength training. As of this morning, though, I am 8.5 lbs from a healthy BMI, which I am very excited about.

Saw a new chiropractor today( the second one I’ve seen since we moved to TN. Didn’t care for the first one and have gone back to see my chiropractor in NC on a few visits back) and she suggested I take 2 weeks off from exercise as my hip area is inflamed. I must’ve looked at her like she had 2 heads. I told her I only jog 3-4 days a week and do my spin bike the other days so it’s not too much stress on my body. She says it still would be. It doesn’t even hurt when I jog, I just feel more of an “awareness” of my hip the last mile or so. It bothers me when I sleep at night. Or try to sleep; it wakes me up when I turn over while sleeping. I’m thinking about wearing a mask and going back to the fitness center where I live ( there’s usually no one even there) and use the elliptical. Or find another chiropractor! Maintaining weight loss aside, exercise is the only thing that lets me get rid of stress and keep my sanity.

@Bovaryoo - 8.5lbs is so close and is very exciting! 🤗
@clutterqueen - Have you thought about giving swimming a go if your fitness center has a pool? Way less impact, and having been a swimmer for years I can attest to the fact that it’s one hell of a cardio workout. Plus, from a stress relief perspective, the “silence” of being underwater is possibly the most peaceful sound on the planet. 🏊🏻♀️8 -
Did I exercise for at least 20 minutes?
Did I stay within my calorie budget for the day?
Did I keep track of everything I ate and drank? Yes to all three. Nice day here with temps in the mid sixties. Worked in my garden and yard all day. Lots of good exercise. happy May Day!4
