We made it back to the home corral. Here is Coco looking out at the green grass and the sunset.
Rose and I are tired but happy the trip went well.
A lot can go wrong while traveling 1800 miles.
I’ll catch up with the UAC team tomorrow.
Best wishes to you!

Did I exercise for at least 20 minutes? Yes (Walking, 30 mins)
Did I stay within my calorie budget for the day? Yes
Did I keep track of everything I ate and drank? Yes
One thing I like about this group is the accountability. I did not want to go out for a walk today, but also did not want to report that, so I walked.
I found, for me, it is too easy to get competitive on tracking and staying in budget. I had to have dessert just to not be too far in deficit. I know from personal experience (and study) that staying too far in calorie deficit for too long, too quickly can slow my metabolism (which can be a real pain to restore).13 -

Great photos @RangerRickL
So overall are you glad you took the horse with you on this trip south? Did you manage to ride and work with him in spite of the ear injury enough to make the stress worth it? I am guessing since you haven't brought up the mare again that the deal went south with her.

So many well travelled animals in the group! Lovely pics @RangerRickL and @SModa61 those cats look like they like to keep an eye on things!
I’m feeling super pleased with how today went. It’s a bank holiday here today so we headed into London with the kids to meet my sister in law and her girlfriend for the first time since August. We’re not allowed to meet indoors yet so had to eat outside and actually it was windy and freeeezing 🥶🥶. Everyone here is so excited about the restaurants being open again after being shut for so long that it was super busy, the kitchen got overwhelmed and they told us that they were only serving pizza, my plans to go healthy with fish were dashed! But it was ok, I didn’t eat it all, I went for a lovey swim in the evening and had a pretty light dinner and ended up within calories.
So three yeses for me!

@snowshoe072 Peanut butter M&M's are the best! But I will say that I had to read your post several times because I was trying to figure out what "spin the m&m's" was. Then I realized there was a missing "."2 -
Yes x 3 today. 5 miles with the dog and easily within calorie allowance.. Still battling lameness issues with the horse which is worrisome and depressing. Being able to be outside in good weather, though, is very helpful.9

@clutterqueen This is a pic from last year's. I modified it slightly this year and of course this is a pic before I inserted it into the car. It has a litter box, two levels and holds their microchip assigned feeders, though they apparently never eat while on the road.

Yes, yes, yes for today!
You may have noticed that I am trying a simplified version of daily posting. We'll see how this works, though I really like my daily data, so I am going to need to collect that on the side anyhow. We'll see how it goes.
So this morning was first day back at home scale since Feb 13, and, same scale to same scale, I was down 1 lb. As I stated last thursday, Feb 16 florida scale to April 29 florida scale, was net zero. So though I did not like that my weight bounced around a bit during those 10 weeks, all and all I feel that I got through it well enough.
May is now a different lifestyle challenge than sept - Jan (pretty much home), or Feb - April (pretty much florida), I now bounce back and forth between Mass and Maine. This is my usual difficult time of year. But, this will be the first year that I face it with consistent and portable exercise (walking/running/sneakers) so I am hoping that will help. I am also counting on the UAC community and my commitment to help me with my focus. Just as it has in the past.
Goal for the month is to continue to maintain my weight, consistently track, and diversify my exercise activities like I planned for Florida before I met the walking group. I am also going to push to make it back into the winners circle. Here's to a good May!9 -
Did I exercise for at least 20 minutes? Yes, it was 20 plus minutes walking on a treadmill. Pretty good pace though.
Did I stay within my calorie budget for the day? Yes.
Did I keep track of everything I ate and drank? Every bite yes.
This is going to get pretty tough while I'm traveling with friends next week. I will be getting a lot of exercise though. Walking in the vicinity of the Grand canyon.8 -
@katiecan2021 Glad you were able to re-group once the fish was gone. Pizza though can be ok with a little thought and self control.
@whatmerunning Welcome to the UAC. Great first day!3 -
