    Hello Colleen and welcome aboard!
Connie, your diligence and discipline inspire me. You're doing great!
I didn't track today but did eat 3 times, tho veggies were missing from my "meals". I'll do better tomorrow. I did enjoy my rest time today and lounging about.

Staying on plan. Weight hasn't changed but after my no-no weekend it may take a few days for the scale to show anything. I'm ahead of schedule for my mid term goal, so hopefully things will start moving again soon.

Well, since coming to MFP, I have lost about 4 pounds. I am officially under 150 now. I haven't had a cheat day in quite a while. We were trying to eat healthier due to Bill's blood work today. We may splurge this weekend.

    Lunch:
1/2 egg and 1 egg white, 1.3 oz home-made turkey sausage, 1 slice toast, 1/2 oz pretzels
    Dinner:
1/3 cup mashed potatoes, 2/3 cup egg noodles with 2 oz chicken and homemade cream of chicken soup, salad with homemade french dressing.
    Snacks:
chocolate almonds, 3 Hershey hugs, string cheese

I had another one of my omelets yesterday for breakfast. They are so good and so easy. I'll order some more egg beaters. I've been using regular eggs the past week...but don't want to get too happy with them. I could in a hurry!

I still haven't done a real meal plan and need to take a little time to do that. I started on my cabinets yesterday, pulling things down/out so I could see what I have, what I need and what I can release. I can't climb up on my foot stool with the foot pain...so use my grabber. That works great.

Yesterday, I dumped my ham hocks, some onion, green beans and baby gold taters in the slow cooker. I had some for dinner and brought a container for my lunch today. I do wish I had thought to bring a sweet onion with me.

My right foot is acting up again so I will be cautious the next few days. I sure don't want another 2 weeks of agony like I just experienced last month.

I'm going to go do my tracking for the day. Have a good one!

    You baby that foot, Bren!!!

Connie, keeping the saturated fat under 13 or 14 is hard! I find it in things I think shouldn't have it, but if we are able to keep it very close to that I think it will still be beneficial. Congrats on the weight loss. I've been holding steady, no new losses. I'm pretty sure the eight pounds I did lose was mostly water since I was quite swollen. I've been doing my massages and compression (except for today) every day lately, so I'm sure that has had an effect. I bought a pair of compression leggings - aerobic exercise just getting them on, but I found they bunch behind my knees and are tight around my ankles, so I won't wear them often - unfortunately. That is the problem with the socks I've bought, they curl down and then cut off my circulation or bunch at my ankles and strangle me there! I have several pair of legging that aren't strong compression, but they do have some, so I will stick to those and if I swell up again I'll wear the tighter ones. Maybe I'll lose a little more weight and they'll fit a little bit better!

Well, yesterday I did a little bit better than that tracker showed. I didn't eat the string cheese that I had tracked. That got my saturated fats back into range, but calories were a bit low.

Today I am not even posting the numbers because they are terrible. We had Mexican tonight pick-up. It was really good, and I was much more realistic than usual (and didn't have any chips :( , but went way over in all of my numbers. I didn't over-do any other meals or snacks and stayed in my 8 hour eating range. Since it has been a couple of weeks since I really went over, I am not worrying about one day.

Sometimes you just gotta have that day or that treat that is just calling you. We had pizza last weekend. I don't want my husband and my MIL to feel like they can't eat stuff because I "can't" and I know they won't enjoy it unless I enjoy it with them, so I do!

Was two pounds down on the scale this morning - phew! I will try to do my walking this afternoon, but I haven't been feeling well today, just very tired and my allergies are through the roof, so we will see.

My pain levels and instability are giving me a run for my money. I fumbled and stumbled a lot yesterday, just closing the maintenance door so I could go home. I need to work on these things. Since nobody will come in and do my therapy moves on me while I nap...I have work to do. Today is a good day to start.

Last night I had broccoli salad, potato salad and 3 small frozen pancakes for dinner. Not balanced at all but it was tasty. My bed time sugar was only 97 so I skipped PM insulin, when I checked at 12:30 AM, it was just 121...yet FBS was 223 this morning. So I will just do a smaller PM dose as needed rather than totally skip it.

I made my MW omelet this morning, had half of it on a low carb tortilla for breakfast. I have the rest of the broccoli salad/potato salad with some ham for lunch. I plan a grilled ham and Swiss grilled sandwich on Italian bread for dinner. I did add some broccoli to my container for lunch. I like more veggies than they used.

You go Kim! My weight has inched back up so I'll work on that too...along with the pain thing and stability/balance.

Lunch: taco salad with a half oz. pretzels.
Dinner was left-over chicken and noodles with some pan-seared chicken breast and a salad with home-made french dressing.
Snacks: almonds and 3 hershey hugs

The numbers weren't bad, but the protein was a bit high with all of the chicken.

Do you have a cane that you can use, Bren, for those rickety days?

Was on point yesterday even though I had a Key Lime Twizzler. I added it into my food list and stayed within on all my numbers. I'd rather have a heartier snack that has some value to it than the wasted calories of a Twizzler though. It wasn't as good as the orange cream on, now that one will give me some trouble! LOL!

I'm going to try another Orange Cream Smoothie today since my organic natural orange extract come yesterday. Yummers.

I do Kim. I have 3 actually! I keep one at home (and a walker), a cane in the car and one here at the office. I used it yesterday to walk down a ways to take a lock off a unit. Doing so is a reminder of what pitiful shape I am in! Rickety is a good term for how I've been feeling! I am making a conscious effort to move more...just need to be sure I am stable when I do so.

Connie...I'd like to see some sodium numbers like yours! It's odd that on my lab work, my sodium can show low, yet I consume way too much?

Marilyn, My GFR improved a bit too...to 47, but the protein levels are ridiculous. Normal is below 30 and mine was 1048. The kidney Dr. said I am beyond improvement stage and must just "manage" at this point. I am supposed to limit potassium, sodium, protein, phosphorus, and for the diabetes...carb consumption. There's diabetes, heart disease, kidney disease, chronic pain, obesity....Ack! All but one ball is on the ground it seems.
    z8pqxl63in0x.jpg

I will do what I can, with what I have for as long as God gives me! I am thankful for each day I get, no matter what it brings. Each is a gift.

Lunch: 2oz taco meat with tomatoes and 0.8oz pretzels
Dinner: 3oz roasted pork loin, 1 small potato and 2/3 cup carrots
Snacks: 1oz cinnamon almonds, Yoplait light yogurt, 3 Hershey hugs

Calories were a bit low. And, I didn't add in the little bit of salt that I used, so don't look closely at the sodium numbers. I cook without any salt, and only use no salt ingredients, so the numbers are very low.

I did take a short walk, but it was HOT.

Paid the Piper for my Pasta Salad I suppose. I was in agony last night with the right elbow and knee out, and for the first time since the recent foot episode....that pain superseded the frozen shoulder. I did hunt down my elbow sleeve thing at 11:00 last night. Neither it nor the Tylenol helped.
The knee was swollen and very stiff, the elbow thing has happened 3 times before and was work related, with hours of posting payments in computer and to tenant card for 3 days straight. I have 4 days for full recovery and will apply my efforts to taking good care of myself and sending the Piper packing.

Bren - be careful, take care, and we are saying a prayer! My husband has kidney and blood pressure issues as well. We got his blood tests back, but haven't had the Dr's appt yet. His A1C came down to 5.9 (had been running at about 6.1-6.3) with no meds, so his weight loss is due to eating healthier and not a diabetic issue!! Whew! His kidney functions are a little worse, but still not as bad as I was afraid. There have been a few meds that they put him on for short times that they were up-front about and said that they were very hard on the kidneys. I know that we need to eliminate some proteins, but that is what he really enjoys.

    Brunch:
Chicken (pan seared), carrots, about 1/2 small potato, salad w/watered down french dressing
    Dinner:
1/4 hamburger bun, small spoon pulled pork (about a tablespoon), 1 oz pretzels, string cheese
    Snacks:
Chocolate almonds, 3 hersey hugs, yoplait light yogurt.

    Calories - 979 Carbs - 91 Cholesterol - 121 Sat Fat - 12

Nope - no walk today. It was just too hot. If it cools off a little, I may still take one. I feel so much better if I do.

Having a good relaxing day. Started off with a good online Church service. Then we went and had our 2nd jab for covid - had to take an allergic med before going and when I got home took one more so all is well. They told us that we should lay low for 14 days to make sure the vaccine get fully into the body - when that happens we will get to go in person to the new church we will be attending. Really looking forward to that.

The Pastor from the church we are leaving is wanting to meet with us on Friday with one of the other elders. Will be glad when that is over - I know of others meetings they have had with those that are leaving and these members all called and gave us the heads up that he might want to control the meeting taking it away from why we are leaving. But that is not going to happen - we have agreed with 1 hour meeting - and that we will only discuss what we wrote about in the letter we sent him. We asked him to give us a letter acknowledging that we were members in good standing and have left with no unresolved issues - so we feel it is now up to them to answer us the questions posted to them. We are praying for that church and will always pray for them - but we just cannot continue to meet with them due to some issues we see that are disturbing us - should these issues be addressed and we see that they will admit that there is a problem (to date they are not willing that they have done anything wrong though 162 people have shared concerning issues) then after we see that things are changing for preaching / teaching / caring for the members we would reconsider but at this time there is no step in that direction. And truthfully the church we have decided to reach out to have stepped up and are making sure we are being fed spiritually.

Day 29 of logging on to MFP and really do like this website - love love love the food tracker.

    Isaiah 58:13-14
If you turn back your foot from the Sabbath, from doing your pleasure on my holy day, and call the Sabbath a delight and the holy day of the Lord honorable; if you honor it, not going your own ways, or seeking your own pleasure, or talking idly, then you shall take delight in the Lord, and I will make you ride on the heights of the earth; I will feed you with the heritage of Jacob your father, for the mouth of the Lord has spoken.

Stayed on plan today. I had my Protein drink snack (180 cals) for breakfast, and another with a bag of Veggie Straws for lunch. I had a bison burger (plain) and a small smoothie for dinner. Not sure what my snack will be tonight, maybe some cashews. I had another bag of veggie straws for my afternoon snack - just easy! I did get five laps for my walk today, but just to wobbly and sore to keep on going.

    Monday:
Brunch: 1 slice wheat bread, one slice American Cheese, 1 oz pretzels
Dinner: 3.5oz grilled pork loin, low fat/low sodium cole slaw, low salt/no sugar baked beans (turned out pretty good - will try again), corn on the cob, SF jello (while the guys had cherry pie)
Snacks: chocolate almonds, 3 hershey hugs, light Greek Yogurt.

    Calories - 1030 Carbs - 118 Sat Fat - 10 Cholesterol - 97

A bit high on carbs, but not bad considering. Got a short walk in after it cooled a bit for the day. Very refreshing.

Stayed on plan yesterday. Will do the same today. Weight is holding steady so my weekend was too detrimental. I have been finding that the "treats" aren't really all that wonderful after all! Is this worth the calories? Probably not!

Will try to walk again today. My legs hurt when I walk with my sandals, but my feet are too swollen to get my tennis shoes on comfortably. Ugh.

Staying fairly well within my goals. I would love to further reduce carbs, but right now that just isn't happening. I know how to cut them, but between my husband's diet and the fats involved in my old low carb diet, I am just pretty much following Bill's diet for dinner, and eating a light brunch. Staying in my 8 hour time frame.

Brunch: 1 slice wheat bread, 1 piece American Cheese, 1oz pretzel
Dinner: 3.5oz grilled pork loin (left-over), 1/2 serving cole slaw, southern style hash browns, SF jello
Snacks: light greek yogurt, cinnamon almonds, 2 hershey hugs

    Calories: 900 - Carbs: 99 - Sat. Fat: 10 - Cholesterol: 95
Outdoor walk this morning before the heat of the day.

Marilyn - We have changed to a lot of fresh/frozen items, too. I do buy some no salt added canned veggies and tomatoes though. I have become a huge label reader for my hubby. So far he has lost over 40 pounds, so it is working well for him.

    Great goals, Rhonda!

Today, I missed my walk. It has been a busy day and about the time it slowed down, it started pouring rain. I could use the dreaded treadmill, but I hate that thing! It is so boring.

lunch: 1 slice wheat bread, 1 slice colby jack cheese, 1oz pretzels
dinner: chicken fajitas (home-made no salt) with onions and peppers, 1/4 cup chili beans, 1oz pretzels, 1 Tbs sour cream.
Snacks: chocolate almonds, string cheese, 3 hershey hugs

    Calories: 979 - Carbs: 98 - Sat fat: 14 (one over) - Cholesterol: 120
All in all, not a bad day.

Weigh in this morning: 225.2. BP 135/81... been high several days now..thinking the extreme pain of the past 5 days has had an effect plus I am out of the Amlodopine, waiting for a refill. FBS was an awesome 87....I need to make that a habit. Yesterday was 106.
I've not been tracking since Saturday I think, with all the pain issues but since I have to be back on the computer for work today, I may as well do that up as well. I'll take my elbow sleeve with me.

Missed my walk yesterday, just forgot about it! Scary!

Am on plan again and if I can get over the extreme fatigue from my migraine meds I will try to walk this afternoon. Waiting for Elsa to go through too, but I think we are going to be on the outer edge of it so shouldn't be too bad.

Rhonda, great goals. Doable and specific! God bless you as you work to achieve them!

Amazing, Connie. You get some candy and still keep your calories down! Woohoo for you!

    First week in July:
Fitness Goal 270 ---- actual 253 (missed it by 17)
    Steps Goal 37,800 --- actual 62,047
    Calories Goal 9,100 or 1300 daily --- actual 14,581 2083 avg daily :-(

This week I felt in a slump. Couldn't get out of it!!
    Better luck this week!!!

Today we had our cheat day. I wasn't too bad. We got take out from Cheddar's so was able to keep it fairly healthy. Grilled chicken on rice, green beans, broccoli and (CHEAT) a honey butter croissant! Anyway, I cut the almonds out of my evening snack and it almost paid for the croissant in calories.
    Calories:1213
Carbs: 101 (my goal is less than 100)
    Sat Fat: 19 (goal 13)
Cholesterol: 301 (high goal 300) Whew 220 of that was in the chicken breast over rice according to Cheddars and our tracker here.

Down to 148 now. I am getting there. I lose very slowly, but that is okay. I should easily make my October goal of 146.6 (last October's physical's weight). I don't want to show a gain.

Weighed in gained 0.2 pound. That's the wrong way!!
Last night I did it again and overate. After going to bed I got hungry and consumed another 700 calories. Bringing the total to about 2500. :'(
    Today's another day!

Ronda, what if you tracked your food at the beginning of the day. I know that helps me. I know exactly how many calories I am going to eat for the day and if I have room for an "extra" snack or something extra for a meal. That way I don't go over my count. It helps to rein me in!

On goal so far today. Hopefully will feel well enough to walk this afternoon. I need it!

    Down half a pound.

Connie, My husband has to lay low on the sodium too because of his high blood pressure, which in the long run helps me not to take in too much sodium. I do lightly salt some of my food. I can read your tracker. Notice you don’t eat breakfast?

Restfinder, I do the same thing. Look it up on amazon or just google the food to get an accurate nutrient count and then look at MFP food to match the nutrients, even if it’s not the same brand.
