What is everyone using for their step counting? Thanks!
@bradkcrew I have a Fitbit Versa 2, but when I first started I used my phone...not quite as accurate, but it was all I had at the time...been through several Fitbit upgrades since then.

Hi everyone! I check in and see what everyone is up to most days but struggle to post. It’s been a hard summer, honestly it’s been hard for so long. I’m trying to make myself a priority and take care of my health.
My middle child just moved in to a residential treatment facility for her mental health. Her unstable health has created so much stress and tension in the home for the past couple years. Between hospital stays and suicide attempts. I feel sad that we couldn’t make it work for her at home, and also relieved to have the respite. It’s very conflicting.
My home is under renovations since late May, should have been done mid July but probably won’t be done until early September at this rate.
My dad starts Chemotherapy tomorrow, he had surgery in June to remove a tumour from his lung. My mom was diagnosed with congestive heart failure in the winter. She is doing ok, I’m there a lot helping the two of them. I have a sister, but she can hardly take care of herself due to her untreated mental health issues.
I like to come and read about your travels and life to forget about mine for a time.
I have often made better choices through the week because of this group. I want to have a good weigh in.
I’m working on being ok. I’m starting to be ok more often than not. I’m deciding I’m worth the effort.
I really like this group and try to keep my interactions positive. I don’t want to bring people down with my troubles.
I have lots of positives in my life, the negatives have just been weighing heavily. Sorry for the very long ramblings.
You have an empathetic heart like mine...I can feel your pain as I read your story...I took care of my mom for the last 16 years of her life (lost her in 2011) so I know how hard it is being a care giver.
You're right to prioritize yourself because you can't help anyone if you're not ok too. Very proud that you're taking steps to help your children, your parents and definitely yourself!! Walking really helps to clear your head, help you breathe and of course, work out any negative thoughts, energy, bad moods, etc...with the positive effect of burning calories too! Pray that your Dad's chemo goes well and that your mom continues to handle her condition and get better and that the rest of your family finds healing and peace. Some days all we can do is just breathe and carry on...I know that feeling well.
Keep working on your health...we're here for you and just typing how you're feeling helps to release any hopelessness you feel...it's good to talk about it...keep us in the loop. Take care!

@bradkcrew I use a Garmin Vivosmart 5 wristband for steps, exercise, sleep & it even tells me when I'm stressed.I love it.
So sorry that some team members are having such a hard time at the moment.@bradkcrew
@Waifer003 @CassandraW having family going through such bad health problems & mental health struggles is super stressful.I am glad that you can share your thoughts on here.Do not feel bad about bringing us down.I doubt there's more than a few of us who have experienced something similar.
I have lived with dementia & cancer has taken many of my loved ones.
Its wonderful that you all can see the positives. Also in these situations taking care of one's own needs is very important so don't feel guilty if you do.3 -

Thought I’d share some positive news after my outpouring of emotion the other day. Spoke to my doctor about my cardiac CT scan results and I “have a healthier heart than 93% of people my age.” Terrific news. Doesn’t explain the chest pain and heart pounding, but she thinks that could be attributed to me dealing with the stresses in my life. Happy to know I’m on the right path health-wise.5

Lost my last message & then had to leave for dental appts!
@CasandraW sending hugs 🤗 & prayers 🙏. It' really tough coping with 2 ill parents. Similar but slightly different issues with my Pops & Hub's Dad several years ago. Renovations too- it's a lot to contend with. Hopefully that will be great when finished.called in2 -
