    Steps 21,450

Met a friend for a walk and coffee. I have done so well this week with alternating my walking days every other day with my strength workouts. I wish I could say I have done as well with my nutrition. I just can’t seem to get in a good groove and it shows on the scale.

    Good Saturday Evening Everyone, 😆

It was a really busy day today, and our guests just left. Whew!

So, confession time.... Yesterday sucked... I didn't react well to Lynn not doing well and it kind of drained me mentally. Like way to be strong for your Honey there Johnny boy. *Yeah, not my best moment*

So, after work, I came home, and instead of getting ready to work out, I crawled straight into bed. Mind was made up, and I wasn't going to be convinced otherwise. 😑

Good news is Lynn is back to old self today, and so am I. *kitten* part is we just had too much to do today, and no time for hike. Which kind of sucks.

But I was determined to make up for my lack of enthusiasm from yesterday.... So, I kind of didn't a different kind of leg workout, along with some chest work to kill 2 birds with one stone. 👍

My plan to Deadlift more weight for less reps, actually worked. I managed 6 reps of 300-pound Hex Bar Deadlifts in the first set. Doing it this way, taxes me muscles to failure before my cardio becomes a factor.

After 3 Sets of deadlifts, I switched up to Dumbbell Bench Presses... Sadly, I didn't quite manage 8 reps at 75 pound and once again got 7 reps, followed by 7 more.... But I followed that by doing 80 pounds for 4 reps, then 3 reps.... Then 82.5 pounds for 2 reps and 2 more reps... I think I'm going to jump up to 80 from the start on Wednesday and I'll be happy if I can get 5 reps. Why not?. 🙂🙂

AND now for the coolest part of the day!

I used our new 12" Pilo box to do Box Squats... 12" is nice and low, definitely sub 90 degrees.... And I DIDN"T USE ANY BANDS TO ASSIST ME. And guess what? I got all the way down to that box each and every time, and did 3 full sets of 12. I finally feel good in the slot. I was balanced. and I could get out of the hole. Just 3 weeks of the assisted band squats seems to have been enough to get me tuned in. This is definitely an NSV, and things only get better from here on out.

So, you know what this means right? I need to start doing legit squats with weight across my back from now on... I'm going to go ahead and do this on Tuesdays... Nothing but squats on Tuesdays. I'm going to start really light mind you, and I'm going to continue to use that 12" Pilo box to make sure I get low. But this is really exciting.

I'm also going to order a Safety Squat Bar... As a reward. lol YAY ME!!! 😁

Between cleaning house getting ready for guests, grocery shopping, and the workout... I managed to burn 1800 calories 😎👍, I would have preferred to get a hike in though.

One of my orders has been delayed for another 3-4 months. The 4 x 45lb plates I have had on order since January which were supposed to arrive this week... Were pushed back to December 30th. This is not good. Since I'm deadlifting 300 pounds, there isn't really any weight left, especially if Lynn is doing squats while I'm Deadlifting. I just have some smaller plates to work with maybe get to 320 or a bit more. So, I have a plan. I'll use whatever small plates I have till I either Run out of plates, or I reach a body weight of 350 pounds. Then I'll switch from using the High Handles on the Hex Bar to using the low handles which is 6 inches lower. Which means I'll have to drop significant amount of weight and start working my way back up.

That extra 6" will be a large part legs, and it will do wonders for my squat as well. It's not going to be easy, but It is the right decision.

And last but not least... I'm going to try to switch up my nutrition a bit around major workout days, Tuesday will probably count even if I'm only doing 4 sets of squats. I kind of put it in action today. I want to boost my protein percentage in effort to see if I can capitalize on more muscle growth. At the expense of Fat Calories, in an effort to see if my body can still reap what it needs from my body fat reserves via ketone production. If it works, I should see an uptick in muscle growth via the Renpho Scale. If it doesn't work, I should see my energy levels drop resulting in fatigue? I think it's worth trying? I figure the best way to do this, is I'm just going to buy some chicken breasts tomorrow, and cook'em up. lol Sadly I will need to drop yummy chocolatey snacks to accommodate these... I could also eat more quest chips and Twin Peak Puffs, but both are expensive options. I guess I could line up some jerky too. 🤓

Okay I've rambled on enough. 😄 Good night! 😎🥰🤗

Hi guys! I am ready to go home and get back to a routine. We survived Friday night’s hurricane. It was only a category 1 but still caused a good bit of damage around the area. Some places are still without power. I can only imagine the damage the recent hurricanes some of our teammates experienced lately.

I have been awake for a few hours because a lovely rooster likes to wake us at 5 am. I am catching up my steps and I read through the team chat.

Hi guys. This has week has been stressful. This cold has really affected my energy levels and is lasting forever, my son has croup, and I've been trying to battle my cold while also finalizing things for the sale all week. Drop off was on Friday though, so that's all done. I ended up with almost 300 hangers worth of baby/toddler clothes and it was just winter items, hung 2 or 3 pieces to a hanger haha. It was a lot of work but hopefully will be very worth it. No intentional exercise this week but my steps weren't terrible for the most part. Largely due to the fact that I still walk my son to and from school every day. He didn't get sick until Friday so he only missed one day of school this week.

@Megan_smartiepants1970 I wasn't sure what day I last reported for, does this catch me up?

Yes you are caught up for week 2 ...Thanks for posting ...I hope you start feeling better soon ....hugs

    Daily Check-in For Saturday 9/11:

    Calories: Over by 600
    Water: 90 Oz
    IF 16/8: Fasted 20 hours
Alcohol Free: No (6/11 days this month)
    Exercise: Full Body Strength Workout
    Sleep: 7.5 Hours (Friday night)

Back to back days being over calories, need to get that back under control. Ended the week with my average calories still in my allotted range but on the higher end. Exercise, water, IF all on track for the past week. Did have alcoholic drinks twice this past week, which is my maximum - looking to reduce that to maybe just once this upcoming week.
