Good for you moving in spite of not feeling well. Hope you feel better tomorrow. I think you said you live in California, does it cool off much in the fall/winter where you live?@lindamtuck2018 I am going to redecorate some of my rooms in my house and also have my birthday ..i just heard today that my gym buddy has covid so im hoping that doesnt come along for my bday pressy

First of all, thank you for all you do as a nurse. Happy early birthday! Do you have to quarantine? We have really screwy rules on quarantine. There is a flow chart you have to flow. Hope you don’t get that nasty virus.1 -

My weight has been a roller coaster this week. The good news is I ended up with a loss and I am in ONDERLAND. Those of you that have been around for awhile know that my weight hits a weight and fluctuates there for a few weeks. I did see onderland before vacation but the two weeks away didn’t give me a chance to get settled in the 190’s.
Kids came over last night so today I am only going for a quick swim. I still need a 142 zone minutes and it’s very unlikely I will hit it but I feel I put in a great effort this week.

Hello Everybody!!!
Leg day has come and gone once again... I'll level with you guys; I've been having a hard time keeping my eye on the prize lately. Nothing crazy mind you, maybe it's just a week straight worth of rain working on me? Haven't got a decent walk in since last Saturday in fact. (but to be honest that walk beat the crap out of me, which led to me needing 2 rest days this week?)
Anyways... I got problems developing this week. Seems to be getting a little worse each day... So, get this, by around 2pm each day my left glut, or Hamstring, or calf or even my ankle sort of starts to throb in various degrees of pain (ankle was sore enough getting out of the car to my house was difficult). Normally, even at my heaviest I could sit on my *kitten* all day long and not have a sore back from doing it. Walking might have been a problem, and sure as heck sleeping was a problem, but not sitting. It's gotten so bad, I've started pacing back in forth in the office (rain outside doh) stretching, squatting etc... Trying to make it better, it helps but I need to spend more time doing this then I currently am.
So, in my mind I'm wondering why is this starting to happen? Is it just my body and spine realigning and trying to find a new happy medium based on my ongoing weight loss? And if given enough time everyone in back, spine and nerve land will find a happy place? or is my exercise at fault? Could it be the Deadlifts? The Deadlifts i have to do tonight (I thought earlier today with a little dread).
So, I get in the house, start getting ready... Move around, stretch a little. Pull out the trap bar start loading it etc (With Lynn's help, I love her)... All of which is helping me feel better. But the whole time I'm thinking if I'm having nerve or back issues is it wise to do what I'm about to do? I proceed with my warm up set... no Problem.
Then I watch Lynn as she totally goes Beast mode and squats with 75 pounds on her back for 10 reps... way to go babe... Seriously!
Then it's my turn to Deadlift 290 pounds.. Thinking about it makes me gag a few times. I'm thinking will this hurt my back? Will this cause me damage? Then I begin, and the first rep was so easy it literally surprised me. 6 reps no problem at all, and after each set, I feel better than I did the set before.
So, I successfully hit my max rep range of 6 reps in all three working sets... Now I'm forced to move back up to 300 pounds next time round. But judging on how it went, I think I can rule out doing deadlifts is hurting my back or causing issues with my left glute/hamstring/calve? Can I?
Perhaps I just need to stretch more, and do so regularly?
Alright next topic...
We're leaving to Toronto Thursday night... Which means there will be no Leg day on Friday. As a result, it is imperative that we do in-between leg day On Tuesday. I plan to squat my *kitten* off. (just wanted to say it out loud Because I skipped out on this Tuesday passed).
As for me and my head... Some nice weather will be nice right? Also, some weight loss would be nice on Monday? I don't know, the main thing is I'm still doing it. Just a minor rough patch.
Okay so that's it...
Okay for those that care about lifting gear.... If you use grip assistance on Heavy Dumbbell rows, or Deadlifts... I've switched to Cobra Grips (Black Pro Leather, cause Black leather is cool of course)... I'm so shocked at how good these are, it's a real game changer. They work so good in fact, you don't need to wear them tight on your wrist cause the way they work makes your actual grip in your hand boss, so the heavy weights aren't pulling on your wrists cutting your circulation off. IN fact, they are so good you don't even need to tie them up or loosen them between sets. Using the hooks, was really hard with deadlifts, as by the mid-way mark all the weight would transfer to my wrists and I was fighting a battle with my mind thinking about my grip and wrists when I should be thinking about the lift. Using the Cobra grips, I'm literally so comfortable and actually gripping the weight that I don't think about my grip at all. That is amazing. The come in all sorts of colours, and an FIT model for the ladies with smaller wrists. Highly recommended.
New topic... My DAMNED Medicine ball rebounder.
Turns out I'm 98% sure I'm never going to receive it and I got scammed on that one. I should try and do a Charge back, but it's Mastercard isn't as cool about that sort of thing then Visa is... Or I can just kiss 100 bucks away. Which I half expected going in. If it sounds to good to be true it probably is.
And trying to get a decent one is still literally impossible since Covid... Erg I might have to make due with a lesser contraption... Life goes on!
Alright I rambled on Long enough... Good Night. 😄

Good evening everyone. Hope you had a good friday.
Check in for 9/24:
Steps - 9445. Got in a walk today. Hooray.
Calories 1815. Snacked to much. Peanuts, small cookie, popcorn, peach, apple candy. Way to much.
Exercise - 3.59 mile walk in 70 minutes. I got to nervous to hit the gym by myself due to back.
@Poobah1972 just spitballing here, but maybe take a week off from all lifting to let your body settle in some and become used to your weight? Then see how your glute is. Have a wonderful trip and enjoy the game.

Just wanted to let you all know I’m home. I’m struggling a bit with pain and feeling a little sorry for myself but I know I’ll get there. Thank you for all your well wishes and kind messages ♥️
@lindamtuck2018 I’m going to have to roll over last weeks weight. I’m home but in bed and extremely swollen from my surgery. Won’t be able to give you an accurate read on the scale.
@Megan_smartiepants1970 i won’t have anymore steps for this week.
Thanks ladies ♥️5 -
@rlaskey2
It was your first week back to work so things will get into a routine.
@Poobah1972
I am leaning toward what Roger said. I don’t know if that will screw up your weight lifting routine if you took a weeks rest. Could it be arthritis setting in? With the damp weather we had last week it wouldn’t help. I know one thing that was adding a layer to my back pain was really tight hamstrings. Massage and lots of stretching has helped that. My physiotherapist said it was important for me to stretch before and after exercise. Are you doing much stretching?
@Aqualang26
Nice loss Laura! You are four weeks in the green. 😀🎉
@rwood566
Snacking is something I do too much of. My granddaughters were eating chips last night. Luckily they were stale or I would have finished the entire bag. What is apple candy?
@Bluetail6
Wow! 249 intensity minutes. You are on fire!
@mari_moulin
Weight carried over. Get better fast and stay off the scales until the swelling goes down.

I have suspected for a few days that I had an ear infection. The doctor confirmed it yesterday. I thought it might be water in my ears but I was wrong. My left ear has been paining and I am very lightheaded. I have to stay out of the pool until it feels better. I started the antibiotics yesterday so I figure by Monday I will be swimming again. If not I will use the exercise bike. Today will be a rest day.
Have a super Saturday!3 -

Ouch I hope it feels better soon ... I get ear infections often ... it was very bad when I was a kid ... they suggested I get tubes put down my ears as a child but it never happened1 -

Not much of a loss, but not a gain either. I’ll take it.
Steps for the last week:
9/18: 1,946
9/19: 4,256
9/20: 6,804
9/21: 11,060
9/22: 8,532
9/23: 10,562
9/24: 3,653
This week (and last week, too) were so busy at work with dissections that I had to take a mental health day yesterday. I made sure to get some rest, but I also made sure to be somewhat productive and run errands. While I didn’t reach my step goal everyday, I did get some rest in there, which is just as important for me.
I hope everybody is having a good week. Eventually I’ll get back to responding to people’s posts, and checking in more frequently! ❤️3 -

Hello all!
I got back from the hospital with a power line in my chest for daily antibiotic infusions and a fuzzy boot which they tell me is a SITTING cast so no walking or driving. Will be on antibiotics for the next 6 weeks then see if doctors want to amputate toe. Am hoping for recovery and no more surgery but it is what it is.
Spent the last couple of days sleeping so not many calories. Am awake today so calories are up. Its been in 70 degrees here since I got home. Am looking forward to next week when it warms up and I can sit outside again. So jealous of all of your workouts. This sitting and laying around is getting really old. Love reading about what everyone is doing. Spent the past couple of days catching up on everyone’s posts while waiting for ivs at my local hospital. Hospitals here are getting swamped with Covid and have placed surgery restrictions to essential surgeries only. Not sure what that is as they were making cardiac patients wait last year.
@lindamtuck2018 Congratulations on no more insulin and reaching onederland. That is fantastic!
@mari_moulin hugs to you and wishing you a speedy recovery.
@tahm42 hoping you feel better soon. Covid is so unpredictable in the ways it affects different people. Wishing you a full recovery.5 -

Thank you! You made me giggle with your "on fire" comment. I'm glad you are able to stay within your calories. You are doing very well yourself😊! It is good to take a rest day, for sure. I'm sorry it is because of your ear, though. It is great you have the option of the bike when swimming is off the table.1 -
