Hello everyone!
Sunday morning here and I am ready to start a new month of improving myself. My name is Laura, I am 33 years old and I live in a lovely town in the Netherlands with my cat. There is a National Park fairly close to my home where I love to walk and take pictures. I also enjoy reading, singing, gaming, jigsaw puzzles and drinking piles of tea. I go to the gym 3 times a week and I try to get in walks if I have the energy. My diary is open (and very boring) and I am also happy to accept friend requests.
Review October goals:
- Protein is better than it was, but still needs work
- Vitamins were taken every day
- Steps were way over my planned 8.500 every day
- Knee push-ups were a fail. My wrists are very weak, so this was actually a bit painful so eventually I stopped doing them.
- Goal weight 201lbs -> this was a miscalculation when I looked up kg to lbs. It was supposed to be 202.2 lbs. This morning I came in at 202.4 lbs so I did not quite make it. In kilo's I wanted to be 91.7 and made it to 91.8
November goals:
Steps 10.000 minimum a day
Goal weight 197.9
I don't really have anything extra to track this month. I think I get plenty of movement in, my water is fine and my steps are really solid so I will just keep doing what I am doing.
So today is a little special for me. My highest weight was 112 kg (247lbs) and today I dropped under 92 kg for the first time, which means I have officially lost a solid 20 kg. This is also halfway to my intitial goal of losing 40 kg, though I am not sure if I will be happy there. I took new full body pictures in my underwear which I haven't done since my highest weight. While I do see a difference, I also see there is a lot of work left. I will take a new set of pictures when I am below 82 kg. If all goes well this month, I will have something to celebrate in lbs by making it to onederland and in kilograms by making it out of the 90's, fun!
I hope everyone will have a great November with a lot of small victories and healthy changes.
Good luck team!
Congratulations on the weight loss! A tip for your wrist: Mine would hurt whenever I tried doing pushups also. I would suggest bending your wrist back and forth anytime out of the day that you remember to do so. It's a good wrist exercise. Once I started back weight training, this wrist weakness went away.2 -

Her dementia was due to mini-strokes, so I was fortunate to never have a day when she didn't know/recognize me. It is VERY tiring and it's vital that you practice good self-care. I'm glad you're getting those weekly walks/runs in on your treadmill...gives you time to clear out your mental cobwebs, reflect on your week and get your head on straight for the week ahead. Glad to hear that you're taking are of you and planning...BRAVO!

Wow, Jessica. Sixteen years of caring for your mom is absolutely amazing. Maybe you already said this, but I'm just blown away by it. My dad was diagnosed just four years ago but with all his falls recently we've had to wonder how much more of this his body can take. His facility arranged for a hopsice nurse to come out and do an assessment last week but she said, "no, I don't think he's going anywhere anytime soon. He eats very well and is moving very well given his age and condition." So anyway, I will think of you when our journey seems long. I need strength for this! Thank you.

But even before that, I was starting to slide off the wagon, and during my evacuation and after I got home (no major damage, just some missing roof shingles), the wagon ran over me a few times.
But I got my head back in the game and am ready to do this again. Of course, I gained most of my lost weight back, so I have to re-lose those pounds now. Very frustrating, because if I had stayed on course, I would already be at my goal weight.
Welcome back, @Chalmation ! You're Cindy and I'm Cynthia, but I was Cindy when I was in school!
I just wanted to comment that I know that feeling of having the wagon run over me! Thankfully, you've dusted yourself off and you're back on the road. The important thing is to get there. Doesn't matter how long it takes us. anyway, welcome and glad you are here.2 -

So today is Monday, and the first day of November. Taking the time now to look at what I have done over the past month and to see how I can improve and start losing the extra weight for good.
Last month I decided that I wanted to try to be serious again at losing weight. The last 13 months working from home hasn't helped me much in that category. So as a success, I have started to run again. I made it out a couple of times in the last week of October, which isn't bad since I had to get new shoes to start this endeavor again. I hope to increase the frequency in November.
My biggest challenge has been that I am not consistent about actually getting out and doing it. I start strong but have troubles making it a habit and doing it consistently. This goes for both exercise and eating.
This leads to my November goal which is to try and be more consistent, especially when it comes to the running. I would like to get outside and run at least twice a week. Preferable 3.6 -
@kcpond Hi Kevin, love your thoughts for Nov...it's hard to stay motivated, but hopefully we are all helping you a little bit with that! I am missing your steps for 10/27 please. Fill in my gap. I did go back and check the log for October but that date was skipped when you reported in. Let me know. Thanks! Stick with your running...also helps to clear your head...I love how my walking makes me feel invigorated too!

I think I’ll reintroduce myself as well
I’m Casandra, 38 yrs old from Ontario Canada
I have three kids, 17,15,9 I work from home with my husband and have for about 5 years now. We have a 1yr old large mixed breed dog that is a bit of a handful, and is improving every day. He finally likes walking farther from home so we are getting in two 1.75 km walks a day with him.
My goal is to be at a healthy weight again, I will have lots of loose abdominal skin once I reach goal and that is ok. I will have tummy tuck3 -
@suziieq56, @FoolishJoy, @Chalmation and @princessdimplz - Welcome all the new members!! I hope I didn't miss anyone.
@pupowl Hi Laura. I love reading about you and your progress. Losing 20kg is so awesome! If you keep on as you have, your daily check-in and awareness of your goals will take you where you want to be! Congratulations and Good Luck! :-)
@Waifer003 *hugs* I hope this week goes better for you!
@napattack9558 Your body must have needed the additional calories, especially since you lost pounds at your weigh-in. Congrats on the loss!

Considering a three night stint in Vegas (just returned) with that BUFFET at the Wynn I'm relieved to stay steady. @jessicakrall8 if you don't win our bet in 2021 I'll be shocked. One of these days I'm going to get serious.4 -
Monday, November 01
- Exercise: gym
- Net calories: 1033
- Steps: 12.756 / 10.000
Good morning team. I had a nice gym workout on Monday. The rest of the day was very uneventful. I think I will clean up in my shed a bit and varnish a table. I would like to bring it inside so I have a place to do jigsaw puzzles on. I have a very big table inside already, but my cat kind of claimed that one. It has his waterfountain and a blanket so he often uses it to nap on. Yes, I am aware he is spoiled.
I gained 0.4 kg overnight which is a little weird because my eating was pretty decent. I will take it easy today and see what tomorrow morning is like. I have a new weigh in at the gym Wednesday so I would like a good loss. I planned to cook for the first time in over a year today, but I will move that to Wednesday instead. I loosely checked the calories last night and it's quite a mountain of food so I rather do that after the gym.
Happy Tuesday everyone
@princessdimplz
Thank you! I ruined my wrist with gaming too much when I was younger, and I think I developed RSI. Ever since I got a new desk/chair/mouse, it has improved, but it remains a weak spot. I already do several stretches a day for my wrist, so I am not sure there is much more I can do, but thank you for thinking with me.
@Arc130
Thanks so much for the encouragement, I appreciate it!3 -
Captains challenge week 6
I know I'm a bit late recording but I did start Sunday.
My challenge this week is to increase my exercise apart from walking.
I aim to swim 2x & visit gym 3x
I went for an ultrasound scan on my shoulder which I dislocated in Sept.Thankfully the tendons are still intact so hopefully I won't need an operation.However there is damage to the bone,I will know more when I see the consultant at the hospital.
Week 5 I did struggle with no snacking.However as I had some healthy snacks prepped in my fridge as was able to bypass the chocolate & biscuits.
My focus is also on trying to pre log my food diary.Will do this by planning meals in advance .My mini goal is to look at some new workouts on utube eg walking ones if the weather is bad.
I hope to have another good week where I feel in control of what I am eating & drinking.I am hoping to have zero alcohol this week & only at weekend.So hopefully no meals out like last week!
I hope to stay focused & not give into temptation.4 -

I am so incredibly sorry. This baby has been kicking my *kitten* and we are not friends🤣 Plus my toddler thinks acting like a psycho is cool now too. So this last week has been a nightmare for me.
My weight for last week was 224 with a gain of 3lbs. 😭 This will be my final weigh in, I don't want to drag the team down since I'm steadily gaining. But I do want to try to be there more to cheer everyone on.3 -

@ewilhelm2487 Would you like me to move you to the support team for a while? I wouldn't really worry about your gains affecting team, but really think about what's best for you! Let me know dear...and hang in there!!
