Loving everyone's 5 Things - @happimess01 What an eclectic taste in music you have!
1. I am NOT a morning person - that's why I workout 1st thing. The dog watches me impassively from her basket.
2. I close my eyes and hold my breath whenever we have to drive through a tunnel (obviously Ben's doing the driving when this happens). I do the same on trains.
3. I chew everything 33 times (even soup!)
4. I love to write - and can easily create pages and pages of nonsense at the drop of a hat!
5. I'm terrified of horror films and can't watch them.8 -

I'm loving reading everyone's 5 things! It's so nice to be part of such a diverse group of people but all working towards to a common goal!
Here are my five things:
1. I'm working on my third degree (but really not enjoying it)
2. I occasionally write fanfic
3. I make quilts - but they're not very complex. I love picking out the colours and patterns and laying out the design
4. I love reading - my husband built me bookshelves when we moved in together (they're now full)
5. I joined Orangetheory (HIIT gym) in July as a way to shake up my workouts and I am loving it7 -

5 things
1. I used to have a Welsh Cob named Daffy, and have always loved horses. One day, I will have another!
2. I don't eat cheese - not allergic but can't stand it. Don't even like looking at the stuff.
3. My husband and I really enjoy building Lego sets
4. I have a degree in business and management
5. I'm arachnophobic
Update
Did a parkrun somewhere new-to-us yesterday and it was pretty brutal. The elevation gain wasn't any more than we'd normally do at home, but I guess the hills were short and sharp. Most people (certainly in the back 2/3 where we were) walked up them; we ran the first and walked the second. Felt like my legs were dragging the whole way round so that's something to address this week before the 10k race on Saturday.
Last night we went to the cinema to see The Eternals, thought it was alright but not as good as many other Marvel films. Today we went shopping because OH wanted to organise his locker better; it's pretty small for the amount of kit he has to keep in it, and the locker room is tight as well so you want to be in and out quickly. I do NOT recommend IKEA on a Sunday lunch time, that's for sure! We got what he wanted though so he's a happy bunny. We went out walking for over an hour when we got back and my left leg started playing up; we went down to the bottom of the valley and back up the other side, then down, so another fairly intensive bit of hill work.
Tonight we're having seasoned belly pork slices. Probably not top of my list of things to eat, but we picked them up a few months ago (along with similar things) with a view to doing them on the firebowl and now just need to use them up. If they're terrible, I bought some crumpets earlier.5 -
Some before and after pictures for the past month. I changed up my routine last month. I started a structured weight lifting program called MAPS Anabolic from Mind Pump. I've lifted on and off since forever so not new to lifting. I wasn't working out and needed a change. My big issue was kids interruptions during exercise and lifting is perfect with the rest breaks between sets. I took a break from weighing in because I also wanted to increase my calories for the Holiday season. I love doing ballet workouts and I love collecting leotards but some shops don't carry my size. One measurement I have been tracking is my torso. I need to be 65 inches or less to fit their stuff. My beginning measurement was 71 inches and today I am 68.5 inches! I'm up about 2-3 lbs so the scale doesn't tell the whole story. I was eating 1350 calories a day and I have been at 2000 for the past 2 weeks. I don't think I will go any higher. Picture is in same brand of pants and top, just different color. Definitely feeling smoother. If anyone wants to see my original start weight pic let me know.

I hate falling behind on these posts! There is so much going on! Not sure I can think of 5 things about myself right now. And I still owe some pictures of the birthday cake and weekend!
As might be evident by the steps below, last week went POORLY for me. I had so many leftovers including cake and candy from the party to wade through, work absolutely hit me in the FACE and still is, I was totally down in the dumps. Almost no movement at all on some days. I know the weight on Tuesday will be a doozy. And I am headed to Virginia this weekend (flight on Thursday afternoon) to go to a football game at my alma mater (UVA) but the group of friends I am going with are all super thin, fit people who don't care about calories and although I love them, spending a weekend with them is usually a death knell for the diet and sends me into a total spiral when someone inevitably posts pictures of the group (and I feel like I stand out in a... wide... way. )
@ashleycarole86 so excited to hear you tried Epic 1! Of course keep us updated. She doesn't play around. Steps below (NO exercise to report)

@YinxFed delayed reaction but I had your exact experience with seeing a photo of myself recently. It was jarring. Not pleasant. And I kind of thought it would be motivating because I know at my recent low (~February), I didn't look that bad (this was also an angle from behind me, which is rarely if ever friendly!) - but it's actually weighed on me quite a bit. Sigh. On we go!6 -
Greetings all on this gorgeous crescent moon night - here it is clear, the moon is huge, the planets resplendent. I started a post earlier and lost it in the shuffle, so starting again!
Before I lose this one, here are my sad steps and all for the week. I hope this endless cold leaves soon!

Nice waistline coming along @conleywoods !! It is amazing how just a few weeks of strengthening the muscles can make everything look smoother. WTG!
@Kali225
You'll get through your time in Virginia - enjoy the people, the fun, and plan ahead as possible to simply say no to extra food that "they" can go ahead and enjoy. You can just say you don't eat that anymore. Or you've been feeling a bit iffy and need to take it easy - whatever works! It feels better than the bad "after" feeling that comes from overdoing it. You're there for the people, not the food, right? The photos will show your wide SMILE!5 -
November Week 2 Challenge is UP!
Come enjoy playing the numbers this week:

I'm trying to come up with my 5 things. These are just a random grab from the pile:
- I want to spend a year in the Arctic, especially to experience the dark winter. I used to want to live there, but I'll settle for a year.
- I have been to India 14 times, for work, but always fit in time for extras. I loved staying with people, finding odd little B&Bs, and I went horseback riding in all kinds of places (thanks to a retired Army Colonel!). My daughter came with me one time when she was 17 and we spent a week on horseback in the Thar Desert, riding 7 hours a day and sleeping in tents. It was magic. Then I had to go to work...
- I am completely deaf in my left ear since birth, and I am a musician.
- I love spiders and dislike chocolate. My mother thinks I have more birth defects than just my ear!
- I am terrified of home decorating and go into complete tailspins if I have to so much as choose paint. Furniture gives me the vapours, and I am currently in the process of choosing a sectional sofa. I may have a nervous breakdown soon.

My final post for tonight - it's reminder time!
Weigh-ins due for Sunday - Monday:
@deniners2
@Terytha
@DD265
@kdblpn
@tasoconnor
@bootilicious
@holymanhibbard
The good, the bad, the interesting, the meh - send them on in and we'll deal with it. If you need some extra accountability to track a couple of key numbers this week, go on over to the group challenge for week 2. I'm certainly going to use it to get out of suffering-with-a-cold mode and back into get-some-exercise-so-you-don't-get-stuck mode!4 -
@happimess01
Three that come to mind that I'm really enjoying right now are:
Wasted Daylight - Stars
Heat Waves - Glass Animals
Tessellate - Alt-J
None of them are new or anything, just loving them at the moment!
Loving all the additional 5 things updates, @conleywoods progress pics (I'd be interested in the original start pic you mentioned, love to see people's changes), and those step reports rolling in.
@sljjjembeca Glad to see you reporting in your steps. Just need Saturday the 6th from you and I can close your stats for the week
@micki48 @evangsimmons170 @eggfreak if you have your week 1 by end of day tomorrow that would be great
Well, just waiting for Brad to get to the airport.. his flight was a bit delayed so it'll be a later night. So excited to see him! He isn't the biggest fan of long walks in the city like I am, so I took advantage this morning and went for a 9KM walk this morning. Later on I needed a couple groceries and took off on foot for that too. I do really love walking as exercise. Also did a recovery ride on the Peloton bike and got a flu shot, so the day was full.
I'll report today's exercise tomorrow as I still have steps to get yet tonight. Talk to everyone tomorrow!3 -
Also shout out to one of our dynamic duo sister pairs @EvMakesChanges and @jugar for the leaderboard time this week. And new member @kdblpn - way to go on the great week too

I either refractured or just aggravated my old pelvic fracture. I think my short running season is over this year. If it’s not my pelvis, it’s me slamming my foot into a door frame… 🤪 Silly me.7 -
Five things about me:
1. I married my husband 38 years ago when I was 19. (He was was newly 29) We were engaged after knowing each other 2 months!!!
2. I was in a movie with Paul Dano and Rosario Dawson called Explicit Ills that takes place in Philadelphia.
3. I’ve helped organize many bus trips to anti-war protests in the early part of 2000s.
4. I threw shot put and discus in high school.
5. I spent the summer in Hawaii when I was 16. (My sister lived there)6 -
@conleywoods WOW! What a difference a month makes with some good lifting. Your progress really is quite incredible. I think I need to go pick up my weights.
Great work girlie! Your hard work pays off. Love to see the before again. 🎉👏🏼🎉👏🏼❤️❤️❤️4 -
@ashleycarole86 uggh forgot my watxh saturday so its anyones guess for steps, keeping better track this week.
Also to all thise lifters out there, any tips on where to go to find proper form and what to do for each body zone? I just kInd of wing it but id love something more instructional.
5 things..
1. I met my husband of 22 years in elementary school and besides a short stint in highschool we have been together ever since ❤
2. I grew up in my families restaurant started in 1980, which my brother and i took over 10 years ago.. burn out is real 😆
3. My husband runs his family dairy farm so we find ourselves milking 200+ as well.
4. My kiddos are products of invitro so i thank God for science everyday!
5. Playing basketball and volleyball in school i didnt really find a love for running until later on. I am slowly able to get back into it after having sugery this summer..7 -
@conleywoods that's some really great progress!
@sljjjembeca my approach is to get a trainer - either a physio or sports injury therapist - rather than try to go it alone or with a PT. There are good PTs out there but they're harder to find in my experience. A pure lifting gym could be a good place to start.2 -
PW: 80.2 kg
CW: 79.1 kg
Just need to keep the trend heading in that direction now.
I've to go for a walk at lunch time (sold another item on eBay) but won't manage a long one due to meetings. I still need to have my breakfast, which is supposed to be cereal, and had best get a move on because it's after 10am. Time flies when you're having fun, I guess?6 -
