@ashleycarole86 - WOW - congratulations on your weight loss. You are truly awesome!
It seems the older I get, the more I need outdoor exercise to feel “good.” I just don’t get the same soul-satisfyingly contentment from the treadmill or other indoor workouts. If it’s cold, I focus on how good the fresh air feels on my face. That said, I’m headed into several months when outdoor exercise can be difficult. When the roads are covered in ice or snow or slush, I know I can’t risk a fall. I am, however, in the process of buying the correct gear so I can ride outside once in awhile (thanks to @lesdarts180 for the hint on shoe covers - one detail I hadn’t considered). When I get cranky, my husband will usually say “you need to go for a bike ride, you’re getting twitchy” and he’s absolutely right!7 -
Yes, yes and yes
Nice list of benefits from exercise. It really is great for you. I made the mental switch from working out on the treadmill to walking outside in the cold this weekend. I think I am better off getting directly acclimated to the cold and that it will help me get through the winter with a better attitude.4 -

I never thought about indoor vs outdoor exercise. I always thought I felt especially great on vacation because of the R&R but I also spend many hours outdoors during vacations so maybe that also plays a part.2

Congratulations @ashleycarole86!! I haven't been in the different challenges for that long (10-day rounds, UAC, etc.), but you are one of the folks that always motivates me. I love how you push on and stay disciplined even when you have minor upticks on the scale. It is really something I'm having to focus on, especially during the next couple of months.3 -

Great opening post @LazyBlondeChef and contributions from so many - thank you!
Happy 11th Anniversary @LazyBlondeChef and congratulations on reaching 100 pounds gone @ashleycarole86 💯
Posting on the 15th as I fell asleep before I could get into MFP and post last night. Had a super hot epsom bath (and drank lots of water as it is so dehydrating, I know) and woke this morning after a great sleep and much less sore than I was sure I would be. Thank goodness!
Three falls on the ice and many more “catch yourself” almost falls yesterday and I am sworn to indoor exercise until the surfaces are consistent enough to use my IcyTrax (IT) outside. When the pavement is a mix of icy and dry, the IT are of no use. They are like a death wish on dry pavement. We have a blizzard on the way in today so I should be good from this point forward. I hate falling on the ice (and the almost falls are just as bad on my shoulders and back). Onwards.
I love to do my walking outside and really believe the exposure to sunlight and nature is a positive benefit to our mental health. 🥰
For Sunday November 14 ✅✅✅
My monthly weigh in is tomorrow at my doctor’s/Nutritionist’s office and I am, like always, terribly anxious. It is irrational, I know, but it is there. I keep working on this in the hope that I will, some day, be able to create some relief for myself from this anxiety. Onwards.
