So happy to read your great news, Maddie!
Relieved that we had no shenanigans in DC today, I was a little nervous with the ‘anniversary’ of 1/6

Geez @MadisonMolly2017, health scares aren’t easy. Glad you’re ok.2

Stayed under got my protein numbers again today hoping this habit sticks. 2.2 miles of spin a little flexibility. Tracked and stayed under.
Any special plans for anyone this weekend? I am hoping to finish Game of Thrones #2 then on to #3. Of course some 🏈 😊maybe a short winter walk in the woods before next weeks frigid cold hits. I guess I should proof read before hitting the post button or at least put my glasses on 😂4 -
@MadisonMolly2017 so glad to hear you are on the path to recovery. Thank you for sharing with us to help all of us realize how fragile life is and how we must make sure to take good care of it. My grandpa used to say “make your choices wisely you go this way only once”. We all need to work on making wise choices or perhaps refining our current choices it’s not easy but…please keep us posted.4

@Winner_in_Life I am sure it's difficult to find happiness or satisfaction in many things right now. You are doing so well, keep on doing whatever you can. I think only a rare few have the inner strength and courage to do much at all just yet. You are on the correct path. I am sure your husband would be so proud of you. God bless!4

@MadisonMolly2017 - I have no suggestions/advice for those symptoms. The chest, first thing that comes to mind is digestion related but doesn't explain the HR/breath, for which I wondered for a moment if a pulmonary embolism could be a possibility, but perhaps one of the scans might have spotted that? I'm certainly not the one to guess though!
Anyway, the biggest thing I wanted to say was CONGRATS on the great cardio news! You have done so well and those results PROVE it!
I also admire how you recognized how hard you worked and came to accept any potential bad results. You don't need any of that negativity on top of any other potential worries!
Just kudos all around, you're pretty amazing, don't you know? Oh wait, I think you got a glimpse today! 😎 Awesome!4 -
Way to go @donna25trinity - I'm not a fan of treadmills AT ALL but if I owned one you can bet I would use it when getting out was bordering on crazy. While I don't mind getting out in the rain or even other weather, some things just don't make sense. I'm actually a little jealous of people who don't mind treadmills that much.
@SummerSkier I see no flaw at all in your illness and injury explanations! 😁
@Geneveremfp as far a exercise goes, a saying I find accurate is, "It doesn't get easier, you just become stronger". I do think that sometimes the rewards you have realized serve as motivation to exercise, but not always!

@MadisonMolly2017 Thanks for sharing your story, interesting awareness you have about yourself (so many people don't) as a result of your exercising.
@snowshoe072 No big plans this weekend - still really cold here. If it warms up a bit we may get out for a winter hike, but we shall see. Not holding my breath. And football here too. Go Bills!
Exercise: 112 minutes indoor cycling, 10 minutes yoga, 5 minutes mild stretching
Calories: under
Tracking: every bite
Totally agree with the openers, the days are long, but the years are short! Sometimes the process feels like a slow one but I'm always amazed when I look back only 1-3 months and see how far I've come!
Even if progress is truly s-l-o-w or completely stalled out, it's great to remind yourself of where you could be (backsliding) if you weren't here. That in itself is an accomplishment!
Or, if the slide happened, and you're climbing back on the horse... well... at least you had that awareness NOW. Perspective is everything. I was so upset I had to lose over 100 pounds because of the "how could I let this happen" and "if only I had started sooner" and "if only I hadn't gained back x lbs" feeling... well that was all fine and dandy but it wasn't changing anything! I can use that as fuel now to not go back there but I think the first step has to be forgiveness of the past and a willingness to use that feeling to drive yourself to a better future.8 -

It has snowed here much of the day but I was ready to get out, so went to swim, indoors of course!
@MadisonMolly2017 Glad you got reassuring news! I was praying this morning for anyone who had to be in a hospital for any reason-- at least around here they are so understaffed and overwhelmed at the moment that just needing care would frighten me.

Well put @ashleycarole86 🌟 I really identified with your post today. I need to remind myself regularly that slow is still progress.
@snowshoe072 no big plans for this weekend but to pray to the weather gods for a break in this extreme cold stretch. It is ridiculous and even more wacky to be complaining about weather (I know). Feels like we have cabin fever here. 🤪
Thanks for this thought provoking opener @WhatMeRunning. The graphic prompted me to look ahead three months to March 31. Spring will have started (and we’ll be on the way out of this winter)! 🌼🌷🌺🌸 And, I’ll be so glad I continued my journey: tracking and walking every day.
For today:
Tracking - 👍🏻
Calories - 👍🏻 On the button for my deficit amount (1,400) and left all 485 exercise surplus calories in the bank.
Exercise - 👍🏻 65 minutes on the treadmill today and like many on here, it isn’t my preference to “walk this way”. But I’d rather be walking than not and the options are so limited here right now with Omicron so rampant, and the cold so brutal.
Between the Apple “Workout” app, Fitness App, Apple Health, and MFP, it thinks I am walking the dog. 😂😂😂 Nope — as much as Beauregard would love to join me on the treadmill…. I know I am working harder than the 12 minute km pace it has me pegged at and am working at keeping my spirits up as this is SOOOO much slower than my outdoor fall pace.
Six for six on my 10,000+ steps each day in January. 12,500+ so far today.
