A week is behind us now. FIrst week of the the month, AND First week of a whole new year. We tend to over-think / over-apply "emotional value" to this time period.
Maybe you used some (or even all) of your 3 pass days already.
Maybe you were "extra good" ... but the effort is starting to slip as you get back into post NY office (or work-from-home) routine.
Maybe you still feel that last week's effort is at a sustainable level .... but your weekly weigh in after all that wasn't what you expected.
Guess what? YOU'RE HUMAN!!! Life Happens.
I want to remind you that yes, there is a Winner's Circle to strive for - but as @Mrs_Hoffer explained in the Opener of Jan 3, there is also the CHAMPIONS LIST.
The list of those who had 4+ pass days and kept showing up / reporting in anyway.
Truth is ... getting to the Winner's Circle the first time is TOUGH. Most people don't manage it the first or even second month (unless they already have strong logging and activity habits in place)
But that's OK. That's why we have the CHAMPIONS LIST. To celebrate Progress .... Perseverance .... Practicing for NEXT month's Winner's Circle, if you find yourself out of this one.
We will give you all the encouragement, support, strategy suggestions you ask for.....
You just have to ask. Which means you have to show up (and may as well report while you are here anyway).
Your speed DOESN'T matter! Forward is Forward. Trust the system. It WILL get you there, if you let it.
How can we help you move forward next week?

* 30 min jog to beach and back weights & stretch.
*Meditation and journaling
* Under calories. Friday night can be hard as hubby let's his hair down with alcohol and it made me realise I want to let me hair down with food. I made an effort not to go overboard today!!!
* Tracked honestly
* Monitored sugars but slightly over
Night guy's. Xo

Exercise – yes – 30 minute bike ride, gym workout some cardio work
Tracked – yes – so far, breakfast, lunch and snacks
Calories – yes so far
I’m writing this early in the evening before going out. I will be eating but also dancing. I have about 700 calories left now for dinner but anticipate having another 100- 200 calories for the dancing. I have just had a big bowl of fruit with a low fat yogurt – which is my usual dessert – this should help to avoid pigging out at dinner. I find it makes it easier to make sensible choices if I’m not too hungry. I shall not have any roast or fried potatoes, but I will have green veg if available. I know from previous experience of this venue that there is usually very little veg, but there may be some salad greens. And obviously, no dessert!
I haven't been very vocal on here recently - I found Christmas and New Year very hard - our first since my son died in March 2021. That's our last anniversary/celebration before we get round to March 18th. Hoping this gets easier.23 -
Hello UAC friends old and new, sorry I’m late for January but I’ve realised that my plan of eating intuitively in January just wasn’t working out (I seem to intuitively need cake and chocolate!). I’ve always felt great when I’ve been sticking to the UAC rules so I thought I had better return! I dropped out late November dealing with a long covid flare up, then got actual covid again mid December. But, I feel great now (just a bit round after Christmas indulgences).
Just tracking today has made me realise that my holiday eating habits needed checking.
Did I exercise for at least 20 minutes? Yes - two dog walks and 30 mins on elliptical, 20 mins yoga
Did I stay within my calorie budget for the day? Just about!
Did I keep track of everything I ate and drank? Yes
@lesdarts180 enjoy your night out, it sounds like you are very prepared for it. Christmas must have been very tough without your son, hope those grandchildren helped you through a little.

✔️✔️✔️
For some reason I struggled today with exercising, but luckily I have a supportive friend who motivated me and came out with me for a walk in the cold evening air ❄️
Ready to cosy in for the night now and have a better start to the weekend tomorrow ☺️12 -
30 mins cardio workout
Everything logged
Under allocated calories
1 week in already
The next couple of months are going to need me to focus as I am on extended leave from work while my husband has surgery for neck cancer, I need to look after myself so I'm in the best possible shape to look after him.
We all have each others back, so if you are on the struggle bus, don't fret this time will pass ❤️12 -
