Yes, I think I had better. I'm disappointed, that's for sure. I thought this might just be a day or two like it was for my husband when he had Covid, but it doesn't look like that'll be the case for me. Thank you!
Thank you to everyone for the well-wishes! I'll be back!
You know what? I think I'll just give you and EXC (excused) notation for the next 1 or 2 weeks, and that way you can let us know how it is going and get back to your Sunday weigh-ins as soon as possible. If it really takes more than that amount of time, it is always possible to move into the support team. Keep it positive! You come back when you can, drop by any time.4 -
@jugar CW: 179.8 If there was a way to put in a "sharp", I would have. Suffice it to say that I'm too close to that previous "decade" than I want to be. This too shall pass. I believe I need to add to my water consumption, decrease added salt (again), and add 2 more servings of veggies each day. I'll let you know how it goes!
It was good to catch up about family things today. There are so many things going on including my son-in-law's grandmother died on Wednesday night. She was 97.
Tomorrow will be a bonfire for my younger daughter's birthday (a few days early) with just 1 or 2 additional people for the celebration. We'll have a "charcuterie tray" as well as fruit, olives, and veggies. Beef hotdogs are available for those who want to roast them on the open fire. Easier than chestnuts, for sure!
Have a lovely weekend. Sending positive energy for all with health issues and general "snags" in their nets. Tomorrow is a new day!

Nothing is going as I planned, it is too hard drink water, but I know it is necessary. I have to do at least 30 minutes of physical activities, the only one i do more than 30 min is with the mouth 🍽🍽4 -

I was down weigh more yesterday but TOM hit me last night coupled with a day of not awesome eating. But it's still a loss! Hopefully it starts a good trend for this year3 -

Yesterday was tough for me. Working from home is an adjustment and I don't have the gym on my way home now. I miss my gym friends and the atmosphere but it's difficult to justify the 30-45 minute drive there and back, especially in the cold with these road conditions. I'm going to make today better for the exercise to combat the SAD that's been hitting me4 -
Hello, I have had a long weekend which was a welcome surprise! Thursday and Friday were snow days for the whole family. We didn't get a huge amount of snow(8-12 inches) but we then ended up with freezing rain. Yesterday I had a doctor's appointment but had to cancel because we couldn't get off the road. It was a sheet of ice and one of the new neighbors was stuck blocking the road. So I went home and did some meal prep. I finished with 10 dinners in the freezer. Just trying to be more prepared like @DD265 !
Felt good to have that done. Just hanging out at home and getting outside a bit in the snow ❄5 -

Thank you! Today, I feel like I had a break-through. The fever and cold sweats are gone, and I had a decent night's sleep last night! Ibuprofen is helping with the headaches now, and I feel as if I have a serious sinus infection instead of a fever/flu. I want back in! I won't do any exercise today, but I'm shooting for tomorrow, even if it's just walking a mile on the treadmill. I will do my regular weigh-in tomorrow, and I will begin tracking my steps again as well.
My fingers were crossed that Covid would make me lose my appetite, but instead, I ate like a horse. My family kept buying me treats, and I certainly indulged. A lot. I don't think illness has ever made my appetite disappear.
Thank you again for keeping up with my drama! Here's to the rest of the month!5 -

How did you lose one kg? You really did! You are doing great! Even if your plan got a bit chaotic, something must be working. You don't "have to" do 30 minutes of physical activity. You have to do maybe 5 minutes. Commit to that. Getting started is always the hardest, but if you just say 5 minutes, no workout clothes needed, I'm going to move - get a short routine you know you can do no matter what, and start there. Once the routine is in place, it is easier to get more elaborate later. There are also some great videos to follow along, that can make it fun.
What is too hard about drinking water? What do you drink?kellie_erin wrote: »1/7 steps: 4712

Missing the gym is annoying. But not driving in bad conditions is pretty good, eh? Videos. There are some really fun ones. Go for it! Getting some of the endorphin effect from exercise makes SAD ever so much better. And some good lights - my sister @EvMakesChanges might have some good ideas about that. They can really help. Hugs to you4 -

So far, exercise is going well, although I did not get out for a snowshoe or walk today. I have stuck to the strength program I committed to for 30 days - day 8 done today, and it is starting to feel better. Playing music every day is the thing I am slacking on, weirdly enough. I am so used to having upcoming concerts, recordings, etc. to work on that just playing to keep it up is hard to get excited about. I'm kind of doing it, but not enough. Need to find a better routine around that. It isn't food or fitness-related, but it is a big part of what keeps me going. This pandemic has blown all the ensemble possibilities away, and I am not doing well adapting to that...4 -

We had snow and ice on Thursday/Friday, plus I didn't make my run Friday evening as the plasterers were finishing up and OH wasn't guaranteed to be home in time for them needing to leave.
I'm helping out at the vaccine centre this afternoon, and though I've spent a few hours cleaning this morning my steps are still very low, so I'll try to get a walk in this evening.4 -
Wonderful week 1, team!
We had good, reasonable losses, a total of 25.3 pounds for the team. Great job! Other teams may have topped us on the leaderboard, but I think our losses are sustainable and won't lead to big bounce-backs. That is always a danger when diving in too enthusiastically and losing a ton in one week. So congratulations! The announcements will be posted in a bit. Be sure to follow the link to see the full results page - @minstrelofsarcasm always posts all kinds of great information and you can see how we stack up with other teams.
Let's aim for another 20 pounds this week. We can do it even if a few people have a small gain - 20 pounds is less than 1 pound per person, so go for it! Green is the colour of the week!
I'd love to hear people's Tiny Triumphs this week. What did you stop eating instead of mindlessly munching? What did you say no to? Did you get off the couch and do a few minutes of exercise when you did NOT want to? Did you dig in to a big plate of veggies instead of a burger?
I had one yesterday, which is my free eating day. Usually I really go for it, but I left the last 2 pieces of Christmas bread (cardamom coffee ring, full of butter and...) in the freezer. I'll probably drag them out on another free day, but this week they are safe from harm.
Try to post one every day. Impress your teammates!3 -

I have had an especially busy week. Kids all went back to school and my husband went back to work after the holidays. My daughter had her 14th birthday and a weekend of parties. Tomorrow I am starting a new job. and my masters degree classes start again tomorrow as well. I am happy to get back into a routine. But whoa. Thankfully we are all feeling good and healthy.6 -

I exercised a lot M-F of this week and felt great. I was trying to alternate running and biking. Just a little of each I said to myself and then once I was started I tried to enjoy myself more than just go through the motions. I want to reevaluate my consumption of carbs and intermittent fasting. I played with both last year a little and I like not eating in the morning and lesser carbs make me feel less heavy. If I would be consistent about my food tracking it would be better for me in both these areas.
@conleywoods 8-10 inches of snow is more than I have ever seen.3 -
