Just completed my first cardio session this year. It was slow but felt great.
I am really good friends with my ex-husband’s wife. She called to check on me and how I was feeling. She asked if I wanted to go for a walk. Told her I was completely exhausted and felt like I needed to recuperate a bit longer. She said she thought just gettin in the sun would help. I agreed if she would go slow that I would meet her for a walk.
We did +3 miles. She laughed and said even sick I was faster than her 86 yr old dad 🤪. I did a mini strength training session Thursday…. So 7 more cardio’s and 7.5 more strength sessions to meet my goals. I’m well on my way to the 10 lb portion of the goal!
January started out rough, but is looking much better!!!!

I'm not doing so well after the holidays. Struggling to get back in the right mindset. Sorry team.8 -
@CasandraW yay for snow pants! That’s a major win! Also, it reminded me that mine probably don’t fit… well, I don’t have any plans that I’d need them for right now.
Forgot to check in on my daily actions yesterday. For fitness action, I walked with my friend back to the subway station after her visit, and regretted every step of the way. The company was great, but it was raining tiny little ice daggers. Not fun. For home improvement I did plenty of regular chores on top of all-day baby duty as husband had other plans all day, changed fresh sheets to the bed and managed about a third of the Christmas tree.
Today’s fitness plan is to do something light, possibly just a few stretches, and to finish taking down the Christmas tree. My mother-in-law is coming over to see her granddaughter, and after that husband will take care of the baby until tomorrow morning so I get some rest and time off to do whatever I want without having baby responsibilities.3 -

Sorry for the MIAs but I have been either busy or depressed. Alot has to do probably with going to bed later and later each day. I'm in a rut. I am however starting to clean the things that are not a daily chore and checking them off my list. So I've been just living out of laundry bins. They get clean and live in bins well we needed them to put more clean clothes in. So hubby put them in one giant pile. Well or cat decided she did not approve and peed on it. I did not notice or could smell due to being sick proceeded to sort it all and put it away. Mixing it with all the other clothes. Insert face palm here. So long story short I sniffed every article of clothing plus all the clothes in every drawer. I'm almost done. Even the stuff in closets. Hubby's is done. Sons done I just have two drawers left. And one dresser for my daughter. Then onto the linon closet I just realized. I'm not mad just a little amused. This is not all that happened. More to come later.......9 -

Ramblings of the day
Good morning Shape Shifters. I had a pretty nice day. I was meeting my new friend at the start of a nice walk nearby, around 26 minutes from my home. The weather was really nice, cold but sunny. I did bring my camera, but we were too busy chatting so I didn't even take any pictures! Sadly they had to go home a bit sooner than we both would have liked because they felt a migraine coming on. They still had to drive home for almost 2 hours so I was a little worried, but they made it home safely. I was pretty tired the rest of the day so I went to bed on time. Today is going to be fairly lazy, which fits well with a Sunday. Happy Sunday everyone4 -

Sorry I really feel like I’m letting the team down. 😔 I thought last week would be my highest post-holiday weight! I did get my booster this week so I didn’t work out as much. And I ate restaurant food last night so it could be some sodium. I’ll try harder this week!
You are doing amazing!!! You are not letting anyone down!! We all have the same struggle and that is never beat yourself up!! I am the best at this!! I am constantly looking for fault in all my actions!! We get enough people kicking us when we are down gotta stop kicking ourselves!! You are amaz and next week's weigh in will be so amazing big loss huge wins!! I am right there with you!! Holiday weight is coming off and we will see progress!! I am down 4lbs from my weigh in on Monday!! Stay focused and you will shed it so fast!!!4 -

Wahoo!! I am getting closer to wearing size 18!!! I only have 2 pairs of faded (due to wear) and worn black jeans in my current size. Needless to say, they are not much help is this cold weather. The penny pincher in me is refusing to spend money on new pants when I have a big tub of nice jeans (size 18) next to my dresser. Gee, its exciting just thinking about actually having a choice of what to wear every day. Git R Done!!!9 -
@jazzadesigns This is a blame-free zone...I have to second everything Be_theBest_me said...you're trying and that's what counts...remember that your body has to react to every change you make and sometimes that takes time...so if you have a bad meal or a bad day, just dust off and keep going. Share your frustrations because I guarantee there are 2-3 others feeling the VERY SAME WAY! Hang in there...you got this!
@seeless25 Great loss this week!!! You'll be back in those smaller sized pants SOON!!! I'm with that on spending money on new things...I tend to be frugal as well.
Don't forget to pop in on the new group challenge this week...you'll find a whole new source for great recipes and this one is a contest too so you can win a prize with it!! Link is above on this page!

So much for lack of appetite…. I have snacked all day today. I haven’t gone terribly overboard, but definitely overboard.
Hopefully being at work tomorrow, although from home, will be a distraction.5 -

Ramblings of the day
Good morning team. I cleaned the rest of my house on Sunday since my mom is coming to sleep over today. I really hope having her here will be a bit of a food reset for me because I am not doing well at all. I considered being put on the support team for the rest of the month because I just don't want to look at the scale. But I don't think that would be very honest or accountable. Sometimes poop happens. I have still lost a lot of weight, even if I gain something back. So I will just put on my big girl panties and deal with it and move on. There is still plenty of time left this month to get some work done so I will focus on that instead of on all the food I ate the past few weeks. I am going to try really hard this week and hope that on Saturday the scales will be kind.
Happy Monday everyone9 -
@Pupowl admitting the situation and deciding to deal with it is a major win! Hopefully you’ll feel better soon.
@jennifersusanmcdougall the laundry episode sounds like one of those situations where you just have to laugh about it. Glad to hear you’re almost done with it!3 -
Daily check in for yesterday and today: yesterday was more of a self-care day fitness wise, took a long hot shower and did a couple of stretches, but otherwise just rested and started a new puzzle. I ordered it during quarantine but it wasn’t delivered until after. Today I did a mom-baby pilates class, so baby got her first group fitness class in! She fell asleep halfway through, but that’s ok. Then I walked with a friend to get lunch and dessert, and walked back. It’s freezing cold, but gorgeously sunny.
Yesterday I finally took rest of the Christmas tree decorations down, and today I’ll take down the tree itself. Plenty of everyday chores with constant laundry, dishes and cleaning the kitchen are still happening on a daily basis, though, so I definitely feel like I’m constantly doing something.
Tomorrow I plan on maybe doing another one of those mom-baby livestream classes, and then walking to the subway station instead of just taking the bus. I’m going to the mall to return the too-big snowsuit I bought for the baby (I already have one in that size so no point in waiting for her to grow into it) and do some sale shopping. My grandpa’s apartment is near the mall and the family is cleaning it up now that he’s moved to a nursing home, so my home improvement action tomorrow will be taking care of the tasks I’ve been allocated in that process. Not improving my own home (except reducing clutter by returning the snowsuit), but I think it still counts.3 -

No workout yesterday or today. I did something to my neck and upper back and could not move my head Saturday evening and Sunday morning. I had to work my 2nd job Sunday, and a coworker had a Tens Machine, which is an electric muscle stimulator, and all I can say is I am ordering that sucker. Im still sore but after an hour of that, I could move my head from side to side and bend over which I also couldnt do before. Im feeling good enough today that I feel I should have no issues working out tomorrow.
Now Im just trying to not get sick. My sister in law moved in with us and has brought home Covid, and at my main job I am one of the Covid testers for staff, and that crap is making its rounds really bad. I rarely mask up at work, but I am now until this stuff runs its course here.4 -
@Be_theBest_Me and @jessicakrall8 thanks for your comments! I know weight loss is not linear, but I just didn’t want to let the team down. 🙂2

Ramblings of the day
Good morning Shape Shifters. I had a nice first day with my mom. She liked all her presents. One of the things I got was a book about Happy Stones. I think people everywhere are doing it, but for those unfamiliar with it: you paint a rock, leave it somewhere during a walk where it is easy to spot, someone else will find it and they can bring it along and leave it somewhere else. A lot of people also put a Facebook group or other name on the back so you can share with them where you found it. So it basically becomes a travelling rock. My mom had mentioned this a few times before, so I got her everything to get started (besides the book, some paints, markers, varnish etc as well). We went for a 6km walk and found some pretty good stones that should work well. We will try out painting sometime this afternoon, with our nonexistent skills, so that is going to be fun.
In the late afternoon we went out again for a short time because she wanted to take pictures of the sunset. It wasn't the most spectecular one, but still pretty. The rest of the evening we played a lot of Rummikub which is our go to game.
Some sunset pictures under the spoiler.
Happy Tuesday everyone<310 -
Morning team, hope you are all doing great ?
I've been on a sugar binge since the weekend 😩 You know when you gain & think what the hell I may aswell eat what I like !! Well I haven't stopped snacking, there is still stuff in the house I don’t normally buy, left over from Xmas.Normally I can show self control & just eat I piece of chocolate or 1 biscuit. No I ate nearly half a tin of Quality Street & pringles last night as I was alone in the house all evening,I don’t even like crisps ??
So this morning I got my husband to put them on top of my kitchen cupboard.I can't reach them even with my step stool.
So maybe the sugar devil 😈 will leave me alone.
@Pupowl your sunset photos look pretty spectacular to me.The colours are amazing.
There is a line of pebbles in my local park that people have put there. Its mainly positive messages on them,eg Be kind.Such a good idea,& something creative to do with your Mum.
@angmarie28 I hope your neck gets easier to move.I used a tens machine in labour,it certainly helped.Omicron numbers are so high here in the UK. I continue to be careful who I mix with & masks are compulsory in shops & public transport but not everyone complies.
