A few thoughts... Firstly, I was up 5 pounds the week before, so I did not "really" lose 10 this week. Secondly, thank you for ALL the encouragement this past week. I was not feeling very good about having such a change week/week and I knew a lot of it was not having a plan for the long road trips to see family and not being careful in terms of overall consumption. This group is critical to my success - your likes to my workouts are the equivalent of a high five from a good friend (,especially in COVID). Third, I am nervous as hell that I will have another tough week this week given this number - I didn't do anything special or different to hit this so is it real or will the pendulum swing back to something more realistic for a week? Time will tell and fingers crossed. Fourthly, a new "decade" baby! Woot! Less than 30 to go!6 -
Well happy birthday to you too @veronica1359 .. how fun!! Enjoy your day4

@veronica1359 happy birthday! So fun to have some birthday buddies in the group. I share a birthday with my boss and I always think that's fun.2

I'm finally back at the plant today, so I should be able to go to the gym on the way home (unless this project time crunch makes me stay late) and I am so excited about that!
Also, first set of zero-drop shoes came last night and I am loving them. Debating about wearing them at the gym but I'm worried about the treadmill block as I need to consciously adjust my stride to accommodate barefoot style running. I'll see how my feet feel at the end of the day!5 -
Thanks for all the birthday wishes, and happy birthday to my date-twin @veronica13595

The Thursday energy is strong! And all of us Capricorns on the team make everything fabulous, of course Great job on some strong well-earned losses this week.
@bowens1973 I'm so glad you find the group helpful and that you got past your travel/holiday madness so brilliantly. It is true, you'll have to be careful this week since your body just experienced such a big change - talk to it like a nervous horse, calm it down, and don't worry if you don't have a loss to report next Thursday. Stick to the plan, but don't try to keep losing this week. Can't have that horse bolting on us
I had a mad baking morning - gluten free bread and carrot-apple muffins. I don't like this bread (good thing!) but apparently it makes good sandwiches. The muffins are buckwheat and almond flour, so they actually taste good and are nice and small if a snack happens. But right now I'm off to eat some delicious leftover chickpea curry over a bed of kale. Team Crucifer!
@happimess01 Have a great time in Austria! I have had some wonderful times there - and if you can get your weigh in done fairly early Sunday I'll catch it in time for tallies, otherwise don't worry - we'll just carry you over for tally purposes and update it afterwards.
Keep well all - I'll be back for reminders tonight. My tiny triumphs today and yesterday were some good tough exercises that I actually could do! Today's were not quite as fabulous, but there is good progress after a long period of maintaining same old same old. It is fun to feel changes happening.5 -

I've been sick all week since I got back to TX from my mother-in-law's funeral over the weekend. Today is the best I've felt all week, although not 100% yet. But I'm determined to get there. Sparing everyone the details, being sick has given me a total "reset" to eating healthier. Plus, I've been drinking lots of water. I hope today finds everyone well.7 -
@evangsimmons170 I'm glad you're feeling better - and that you are experiencing a "reset" that will have you feeling LOTS better soon. Keep the water and the good foods flowing

My tiny triumph -20 min Barre. My eating was meh. Not a lot of calories. But there were a lot of carbs. This weekend I hope to to take some time regroup and get it together next week.
Thanks for all the kind wishes. This year has been very challenging....and I was not expecting it to be harder then last year.8 -
@KellyBgetsfit Wishing you the time you need this weekend to reset and recharge as best you can.
1/13 exercise - 46 minutes indoor cycling, 9675 steps

Two take out meals yesterday, so that loss is good considering.
I’ll check back in later to read posts. Happy birthday to the birthday people! Great loss Brad @bowens1973 and glad to see you post Rhonda @evangsimmons170. I really just scanned and that’s what caught my eye. Wishing everyone well.

I didn't get a chance to hop back in here last night. My tiny triumph for yesterday is that I bought a bag of dark chocolate sea salt caramels and I wanted to eat the whole bag but instead I took out a serving and left them on my desk instead of bringing the bag to my room with me while I watched a movie.
I have been having a great week calorie counting wise and have gotten steps in every day except Sunday. I think the thing that helped the most is that I've been obsessively scouring the internet for yummy but not super high calorie recipes and I planned out meals and cooked every night so far this week (Sunday through Thursday). And then I took leftovers to work for lunch the following day which stopped me from ordering takeout or fast food. A lot of weeks I only cooked about 3-4 nights, we do takeout one night and then I usually go out with my bf to dinner at least once a week. I think cooking at home most nights has really helped so I am going to show my son some of the other recipes I've saved and let him help plan at least 4-5 nights of cooked at home.dinnwrs for next week so I can go shopping on Sunday.8 -
@MandiSaysHey your tiny triumphs are inspiring - the serving size thing takes a firm decision before eating that first bite, but it is so worth it.
My tiny triumph this morning is doing my strength workout right after getting home from having my 3rd covid jab. I figure my arm will be sore later, so I got it done first! I find that helps it be a bit less sore anyhow, but today was a good challenge with kettlebell cleans, rows, overhead press, loaded squats. Hopefully later a good outing in the snow before the super cold returns. I need one - my weigh-in this morning was somewhat alarming. I'm blaming it on renewed strength workouts... and the bread I bought on Tuesday from the bakery
Enjoy hitting the end of Friday, those of you working folks - I love the Friday energy combining relief, pride at a work week gotten through, excitement about the weekend and its possibilities, tiredness, dread of the chores ignored all week. It has all the things! Don't party too high on the calorie scale, folks!4
