Still a bit up from the holidays!
Happy birthday to everyone who was celebrating a birthday!
These triumphs have been very inspiring!5 -
1/13 exercise:
11,562 steps + 60 minutes of Orangetheory (approx 25 minutes of treadmill and 35 weightlifting and rowing - Fitbit gave me 4558 steps for the class)
It felt really good to get back to the gym! My weight is up from last week and I'm trying to not let it get to me.3 -

This week has been interesting with starting a new job. I haven't had a good routine with my lunches - if any. I haven't focused too much on fitness just trying to integrate a new job into my life. I have to say that I don't have the best habits for balancing work and focus on my fitness. I think things usually turn to making sure everything gets done in whatever time remains. Next week I need to focus more on better nutrition and some basic fitness.5 -

gym getting back = weight up to build muscle. no worries.

food always comes first. exercise is great to keep your spirits up, but cut the calories a bit (not crazy!) first. You've got this! Go!4 -
This is a tough week, but we are doing amazingly well! We have lost more than last week so far. The little blips are being dealt with.
Try a new seasoning. I know that sounds kind of useless, but sometimes a different flavour slows us down, makes things taste interesting and different, and keeps us away from those triggers. I'm inspired after receiving an order of peppercorns from Cambodia - both red and black. The red peppercorns are really different - sweeter and more complex than black ones. It is fun to try them in different combinations of tastes. I can't recommend enough the flavours that make just plain old ingredients taste amazing without tons of fats and starches.
Have you checked out the recipe tsunami happening on F2F yet? I find some of them way too high calorie for me, but there are great idea. Have a look -

My taller half and I were gushing over some fresh roasted almonds in the kitchen a few minutes ago. I find that raw nuts are good, but just lightly roasted are even better - but I have to be careful not to dive onto them too fast! Instead of eating them, I was bragging about the team - @happimess01 in Austria looking amazing and going skiing, all our Alberta people putting up with the severe cold and still burning the calories and eating so well, you fabulous people everywhere working and still endeavoring to keep healthy - and every single one of you, just being amazing. So yeah - I'll bet your ears were burning.6

Hey everyone. Looks like everyone is hanging in there. I'm finally feeling like my old self and back at work once again. My weight has started dropping again and I am super happy about that. Going to take a trip out of town next week for some rest and relaxation. I'm counting down the days.6

@evangsimmons170 Sorry to hear you were sick. Your results are truly amazing - sounds like you found a way to find a positive in the illness and I wish you good success in the second half of the month as well!
@Steph1498 Big adjustment time for you.. a green weigh-in is a great thing! Sounds like you know exactly where you want to refocus.
@micki48 Same for you... big week in your world and your loss and reminder to Onederland that you are back for it is a fantastic achievement!
@bonnie_red Turning out a green week after hitting the leaderboard the week prior is no small feat... way to go!
@jugar I get you.. I talk about "my group" too. You are my people! Also your quote about "Enjoy hitting the end of Friday, those of you working folks - I love the Friday energy combining relief, pride at a work week gotten through, excitement about the weekend and its possibilities, tiredness, dread of the chores ignored all week. It has all the things! Don't party too high on the calorie scale, folks! " is SOOOOO hitting for me today... I was euphoric when the workday ended!!
Enjoy the weekend everyone4 -

Grrr, 2 nights in a row of take out. Nice that my in laws want to give me a break from cooking but I will have to give them my weigh in calendar! It will come off and I was lower earlier in the week. I definitely increased my vegetables this week and I do feel kind of bloated. Kind of a different week. Lots of students and staff out sick at work and some of the districts in our area are closing. We had some late start days due to so much ice on the roads. I am all signed up for my masters degree program and I should get to start February 1st. Definitely a little nervous. It's self paced so you can finish faster. Can't wait to see what my productivity rate will be so I have a better idea how quickly I can do it.
@micki48 Glad your daughter got the job. Sorry you have to pack, moving is hard work!
@DD265 and @Veronica1975 Happy Birthday!
@bowens1973 Thank you for loosing so much weight this week so I didn't impact the teams spread sheet as much! 😆
@jugar You have been doing great with the work outs! Nice job
My goal for this week end is exercise and look at my fiber. The second I reduce my calories I get constipated. Added more veggies this week but it's not enough. I have been preparing a lot more veggies lately. The guinea pigs need daily vegetables and they get super excited when I chop vegetables. If I touch the fridge, go near the cutting board or crinkle a ziploc bag they go nuts. It's pretty reinforcing to see those fuzzy little guys jumping around and squeaking. Who knew?6 -

Cuteness overload!
Exciting about the Masters program. You have a full plate, to say the least!
Glad you're making it through this difficult time at work.
Brad and I are off to the Red Deer area today to get our dog groomed. We'll have brunch at a cute tea house (it's become a bit of a tradition we look forward to!) Then, we'll likely hit one of their parks for a walk... the nice weather is here for a couple more days.
Bills playoff game tonight so that's what we'll be watching!
Have a great Saturday.

@conleywoods good for you working on that fiber intake and making the guinea pigs happy and getting their exercise dashing about begging for more! I find the effect of fiber to be fantastic both for digestion and losing some pounds. Legumes are great too - lentils, especially the red ones, don't seem to cause bloating and gas too much, and they are so delicious. In general, though, the bloating will go away once your system is used to more fiber. Persevere!
I have always made my family laugh about my relationship with eggs. As I get older, I like them less and less, except in baking where you can't really taste them. But once in a while, I get a craving for an omelette. It has to have spinach or some other green thing in it, cheese, sometimes mushrooms if they are cooked right and not watery, and there has to be sliced tomato laid over the top of it when it is done. Sometimes arugula strewn about as well. My kids called it my annual omelette. The reason I bring it up is how I know I'm going to eat one soon. It is almost always when reading a book and one of the characters makes or eats one. Usually, I think "Ugh". But when it is time to have one, it sounds downright yummy. That happened yesterday, so soon I'll be having an omelette.
You know your life is dull when that becomes an exciting event!
Have a great weekend, everyone - hopefully more thrilling than mine! I'll be out snowshoeing in the bitter cold. At least the sun is super bright!3 -
My son unexpectedly went out last night with a friend's family to a nature walk thing and then dinner so my boyfriend offered to come pick me up and go out for dinner. We went for Mexican and I'm sure I went over my calories but it was delicious and I don't feel guilty because I logged every single thing I have eaten and was under my calorie goal for 8 consecutive days prior so I think I deserved a cheat meal.
Today may be another over day, but I'm going to try to get a walk in. My son is having 2 friends sleep over in celebration of his birthday last week and has asked to order pizza. I will do my best to limit how much pizza I eat but I can make no promises. Will be back on track 100% tomorrow though.5 -

Was hoping for a bit more but happy with this loss. It has been a pretty crazy week with the family taking turns having covid. I haven't caught it yet which is a miracle considering i've had nightly visits from feverish kids who end up in my bed till morning. I'm bracing myself for when it hits me and how I will manage. 1 day at a time....4 -
I hope everyone has had/is having a good Saturday.
We had a lovely meal but I am stuffed now! A company converted a Landrover Defender by adding a pizza oven to it, and they used to visit the office monthly pre-pandemic. Whilst I don't like cheese, they were happy to make a marinara pizza (the base & tomato sauce) and got me on to adding honey and a few chilli flakes; yummy! They opened a pizzeria just before Covid struck and we finally went this evening. I had my marinara, then a couple of scoops of ice cream with Nutella for dessert. I am slightly over my calorie goal (including exercise calories!) for the day but it's a one off, plus tracking takeaways/meals out is complete guesswork anyway.
I did a lot of scrubbing of walls today so hoping to counter it a little - will have lots more to do tomorrow and potentially a run or walk if I can find the time.6 -

Wew! What a week! So many ups and downs emotionally. I'm happy I had a slight loss and that I didn't go off the rails. My logging hasn't been great because I haven't been on much, but food is ok. I got pilates done 3 days this week. All the move stuff is time consuming. This is the most complicated move we have ever made because the housing market is ridiculous. Apparently, contingency sales are not a thing right now. A realtor told me I need to sell my house first, find a temporary place to stay, then look for a house and put in an offer ready to go. You either have to have cash or a pre-approved offer. This terrified me. I'd essentially be homeless. I don't like it. I have had more emotional swings than I can ever remember. Thankfully, I have a wonderful husband who understands and is supportive. Each time I have a breakdown, we talk it out and come up with some plan. Not going to lie, this stuff is so hard. We need to be brave and bold. We have gotten too comfortable and conservative in our actions.
Hard or not, I cannot bear to not be near my sweet little granddaughter. (I know double negative--it's been that kind of week.). We've found cute houses I apparently can't make offers on and still have not found a place to go temporarily while we wait to pounce on a new home. SMH. I talk to my realtor here on Tuesday about putting my house on the market. Did I mention how much I love my house? Anyway, I do feel great about heading back to the Philadelphia area and being around "my people" and family.
Nice to read about everyone's week and read those tiny triumphs. Tiny triumph for me today was having my best step day this week at over 11K. How did I do that?! We are expecting a "big storm" Izzy over the next 24-48 hours. People in NC are so funny! They are losing their minds over 5 inches of snow. There was literally no food on the shelves in the grocery. My daughter and her family are having a sleepover in case they lose power with the ice. We have a generator and heat.

@micki48 I understand your situation. Moving right now is really crazy. Our neighbors listed their house for sale and then took it off the market because it was just too overwhelming at the moment. We are also considered selling ours and moving to a different state and the idea is daunting during this time, to say the least. Give yourself some compassion, for sure.
