@tahm42, how terrible and scary! Of course it's not my place to say, but if a dog attacks like that I think you are right it should be put down. The bite sounds bad enough, but yes, the emotional scars can be worse. ((Hugs))

I totally agree with mindset.
I've always fallen into a "well I'm over on calories today may as well just eat what I like." "This weekend isn't going well might as well start again on Monday" etc etc...
One thing I've been doing that I think helps is internally thinking "well I'm only one extra meal away from my goal. Let's keep it to just one meal." "It's been a bad day but I'm only making my goal one day further. Better than two days."
I know that's not exactly how it works but as a mentality it's helped me.8 -

Pass days so far - something like 9?
I think this is my first success day in a week.
Proud of myself!
Yeah, I started UAC without the expectation of ever making it to winner's circle, but with a commitment to check in every day and learn. Then I did make it to winner's circle one month and every other month I have hoped. I had high hopes this month but I did not take into account how much this covid booster would knock me out.
I did really prioritize getting back to the UAC habits as soon as I possibly could, though, so I'm proud of myself for that.
I think I also did a good job of not using these necessary pass days as an excuse to go off the rails with my eating. My weight reflects that - more or less maintenance for the last week. Which puts me in a good place to begin again.6 -

2/3 pass days
I’m one of those who don’t worry too much about “pass days”, but I do try to keep to the 3 rules as much as possible and I have made at least the Champions Circle every month since I joined my first UAC in January 2021.
I have been maintaining for well over 2 years so I know that a day or two (or even a whole fortnight when I’m on holiday!) without careful tracking will not impact on my long term weight management.
My pass days are almost always a result of being away from home and not able to accurately estimate the calorie content of my meals, but I am aware of the basic principles – avoiding high fat and sugar and watching portion sizes.

yes to all three today.
2/3 pass days so far.
I've been reading/watching Pahla B, who talks about fitness for post menopausal and older women.
I'm trying a whole new approach to calorie goals. ,,,,,,, What she says on the subject makes a lot of sense, so I'm experimenting for the next month to see how I feel on the new plan.
I hope everybody's doing okay! I'm cheering you all on!
Where would I go to read / watch for information (not doing her exercise sessions myself yet)? I definitely have to start educating myself and my approach for that demographic myself.0 -
Yes x 3

I was just thinking the same thing when I read @tahm42 's post. I agree that YOUR safety needs to come first.
@Revlish I couldn't find rolled rye at our local grocery store.... (didn't think I would), so I've ordered some from Amazon. It should come today! I'm excited! Lol.0 -

I get it at our local co-op, sells it in bulk. Nice to know that other places can deliver it! I hope you like it. I'm ready to add some variations into my oats breakfast.
