Daily report for yesterday and today: did some squats while pushing the stroller back and forth our ”entrance hall” (about 10 feet) trying to make baby fall asleep for a nap. It’s so slippery and wet outside that any unnecessary outings feel like a broken bone waiting to happen. Today I had to run some errands and would have slipped and fallen if I didn’t have the stroller for support. For home improvement, yesterday I put away all the boxes from the floor of my walk-in closet, and today I changed fresh sheets into our bed and ran a ton of random errands. I got a burger craving and my husband was immediately convinced that burgers for dinner are a good idea, so he took the bus to the mall and we had burgers for dinner. I’ve been up in weight all week after Monday’s sodium bombs (sushi), with the burgers I think I won’t reach a new low anytime soon.
Plan for tomorrow: walk to the healthcare center for baby’s 3-month check-up. She’s getting a second dose of the rotavirus vaccine, and with her first dose the rest of the day was spent with stuff flying out of both ends. After that experience I’m not planning any extra home improvement or working out for tomorrow, laundry and maintaining will do.5 -

Yay! Under 200# two weeks in a row. Things have really slowed down as far as losing weight goes, but I'm sticking with it. I'm averaging just a little over a pound a week. Yesterday I swam a mile in 69 minutes which is my best time ever. My size 16 pants are still a little tight, but I did wear the jeans I've had in my closet for the last ten years as my "someday" pants. I tore off the tags and proudly wore them out all day. And...I have some safari pants from REI that I got at Goodwill a few weeks ago. They are a size 14 and I zipped them up. What a shock. They are a bit too tight to wear in public...but it's coming!!
Thanks for posting @coblujay !!! I caught my husband's sinus cold and its kicking my butt. After reading your post, I started thinking about the jeans I trying to slim into. Instead of curling up in the recliner, I did a 10 minute walk/circuit video and got energize. Thanks again.6 -
CONFESSION TIME
I was 190.0 this morning... I was 186.8 Tuesday. Since then, I have been on a pure carb binge.
I have been spiraling downward lately. I have not been logging, been eating crap, not exercising... Just living the slug life! I have noticed that my eating habits mirror my alcoholism, very bingy.
I am really trying to get my head back in the game. After a long, hard talk with myself last night, I decided that I need to treat my food addiction as I have my alcoholism - at least for now. My primary problem is with sweets. I cannot control myself if there is anything in the house. This includes semisweet chocolate chips for baking! I will get up in the middle of the night and eat a couple handfuls and not think twice. My house is empty of this now - cause I ate it all!!
My goal for now is to cut out sweets 100% as they are not necessary to sustain life - like alcohol. I will also include 'free range' breads with this, too. Meaning like garlic bread at restaurants, cheezy bread with pizza, random baked breads, etc. I will keep breads that serve as a vehicle for proper nutrients - like sandwich breads, however, this will be in moderation. I have yet to decide how I feel about protein bars that feel and taste like a candy bar, but actually have no or little sugar. I will figure this out as I go... I feel that if I can do this for a month or so, the sugar/carb cravings will stop or significantly diminish and I will be back on my game.
Thank you for being here for me! I appreciate this team and F2F more than you can imagine!11 -

@Beka3695 we have all been there including me.I moved all the sweets to a high cupboard where I couldn't reach them. This is a temporary measure but I know it's about the mindset & having the will power & determination not to give into the cravings.
You have confessed to yourself & the group.Well done we are here for you & I know you can get back on it.You have achieved so much,I have faith in you 😀5 -
I am pleased today as I got my replacement Garmin Vivofit 4 activity tracker back.

Hope to get back to walking more. The steps are lower as only had a health app on my mobile so only works if you have it in your pocket, which I don't have all the time.
It was high yesterday as the builders were making such a racket that I had to getvout of the house !!

Did not workout this morning, my body was screaming for sleep so thats what I did. Not upset about it, only missed 2 days in a week and a half, and Saturdays workout was a double workout day. My diet is doing better, I am working on cutting out processed sugars, and sticking to my calories. I anticipate my weight will now start going down regularly. I feel5 -
@seeless25 I'm sorry to hear that you are not feeling well. Bravo for getting up and moving. Those small choices make a big difference!!
@Beka3695 As Izzy said, we've all done it. If I bring it into the house, I will eat it and even lick the plate. You are still here and that is HUGE! Cheering you on!!!3 -
@jessicakrall8
I would like to be put on the support team until March please. I have tried to avoid having to do this, but I feel I need a little bit of a break. I will finish out reporting my steps for January, skip February and then come back full force in March. I hope I will mentally and physically be a in a better place by then.
Sorry team! I will do my best to hang around here regardless, and share pictures or other news if I have any.
Steps:
Tue 18 Jan - 12.265
Wed 19 Jan - 12.462
Thu 20 Jan - 9.685
I went to the gym for the first time in over a month again on Tuesday. I was advised to only do 2 sets of everything instead of the usual 3, which I did. I somehow still managed to get the worst muscle pain I have had in a loooong time. Tuesday I was still fine, Wednesday I could barely walk, picking stuff up from the floor was nearly impossible and sitting down was the worst. Thursday I was still very sore, though it gradually got better in the evening. I had planned to go to the gym again on Thursday, but with the pain, I decided to skip the rest of the week and take it easy. It is Friday morning now and thankfully I feel much better. I am still not really sure what made it so extreme, but my guess is that I went down too deep during the lunge walks. The pain was all in the back of my legs and my butt. I will go back Monday and be a little more careful. I also asked them to make a cardio plan for me. I do mostly weights on Mon-Wed-Fri and I am considering sometimes going Tue-Thu as well for some more workouts. This really depends on my energy levels though.
Happy Friday everyone

I've started doing a protein smoothie for breakfast and a salad for lunch. I've also been doing a good job of tracking my meals and logging my dinner food before I eat. This has helped me maintain my calories in so that I'm consistently hitting the calorie goal and not snacking because I'm hungry.5 -
Nice loss @KHill875 WTG!
@pupowl I've asked the MODS to move you to Support. I will miss your daily posts a lot...hope you can find a solution to the pain with your back! Also hope you pop in and say "HEY!" on occasion...I so love your posts and pics! But, I understand needing a break too...and you'll be a force when March kicks in (Feb 27th start)!

I was hoping to lose 1.5 lbs this week, but this is enough to be happy about with the positive habits I've been implementing.
I've been able to exercise early in the morning everyday this week except one day. My family has all been sick the last couple weeks (not Covid, but some form of RSV). I thought I had it and was over it last week, but it's hit me even harder the last couple days. Regardless, I've been able to power through some light lifting sessions and my rowing workouts. Diet has been on point except going a couple hundred calories over on the weekends.6 -

Nice drop @Marni3369 !! Love that new middle number for you!!
@bearchested WTG on your loss this week!
@frankwbrown That little uptick will disappear soon with all the swimming and exercise you do!! Just stay on course! You got this!
@chalmation Good loss this week!! Woohoo!
I'm just sitting here working on my reports for the week, listening to jazz and waiting for the flakes to start flying...truly, I want this week to end so I can finish the current book I'm reading and get into the next one. I'm a crazy voracious reader...and starting a new "escape" is so exciting to me! Also, looking forward to my 5K on January 28th...I am honoring my Mom, who I lost on Jul 1, 2011 with walking on her special day. I know she'll be smiling in heaven! Anyone who might wanna jump on the bandwagon and walk with me virtually, I'd love that! Just let me know and we can check in on each other...I took a vacation day from work that day and will be starting early...
In any case, hope you're all having a fabulous day!! Love ya'll so much!

Glad to get past last week’s blip! I had a tough week at the gym. Quite sore and feel like I’m retaining fluid so hopefully I will make more progress next week.6 -
@jessicakrall8 - I've been contemplating signing up for a 5K that's coming up in March, but I'm not much of a runner and it sounds a bit intimidating. I've read/heard you need to train in advance?. Have you done one before? Let me know how it goes - I could use some inspiration. I romanticize the idea of signing up for myself and my daughter (they have a mini 1k for children before the 5k), but want to be realistic about how much time i could actually devote to a training schedule.

@Yukie_OP This will be my third 5k (equals 3.1 miles)...I'm walking though, not running. I think for a runner you'd probably want to have a little experience...I've read you should start 2-3 weeks in advance to prepare for a 5k. There are many guides online that will lay out a training plan for you. I'm up to 1.5 intentional miles a day currently and my step count is 6500-8k steps a day. With a virtual 5k, you can divide up your walk/run into pieces, but I'm going to try and do this one all in one day if possible. We'll see.
Go ahead and sign up...you have plenty of time to work up to it and doing it with your daughter would be an awesome thing!!! You're welcome to try to walk/run this 5k virtually with me as a practice run if you'd like...let me know!

Nice loss, but I thought you were taking a break from the scale, as we moved you to the support team...did I misunderstand your request from a few weeks ago? Taking a break seems to be working for you!! I need to take lessons from you!!
Enjoy your weekend!

I couldn't put my scales in the usual place as my bathroom is just brick & dust so maybe they are not that accurate but I will take the tiny loss.I managed to get out for a few walks yesterday. So glad to have my garmin watch back.
Hope you all have a great Saturday.
@jessicakrall8 I would love to do your 5k virtual walk with you if I'm free that day.Message me the details please.
@Yukie_OP I did the 5k many years ago.It was for cancer charity called Race for life at my local park.My friend & I trained a bit but just walking a few times a week.We mainly walked & jogged a little. My friend & I always laugh about it as at the time I had lost alot of weight. As I started jogging the shorts I was wearing started falling down !!I had to ask my friend for her jumper to wrap around the waist !!! I still have the shorts,I have got into them again once but hope to again soon.I did the race for my Dad who passed from cancer & my younger sister who thankfully survived it.It was an emotional day but fun aswell.
It would be fun to try especially with your daughter.Go for it 😉6 -
wtbarunner wrote: »@jessicakrall8. Could I join the step challenge for February!!!
@wtbarunner Sure!!! We'd love to compete with ya!! February's stats will begin on Sunday, Jan 30th! I just need to know what you want to set as your daily step goal, your first name (for the chart) and if you don't mind sharing, tell us your favorite place to walk/run! The more the merrier!!!
All: Each month begins a new chance to adjust your step count...bring it down if the previous count was too hard to reach...bring it up if you're pushing yourself a little harder! For that reason, carry over for the step challenge isn't automatic as other things are...you have to sign up each month and answer those same questions. Think of it as "new month/new you" each time!! I'm upping my step goal to 7000 for February...how bout you?!!

Good Morning Shifters!! Thought you might like to see what I awoke to from our snow storm overnight. I'll include the pictures under the Spoiler below. It's pretty to look out at, but I won't be going out until it's all melted. I don't "do" snow! LOL
I've made another discovery...I'm enjoying my walking so much and feeling stronger every day, that's it's literally hard to take a day and "not" walk...you know, just rest and take it easy...I feel like I'm missing out! CRAZY! If you had predicted that a few years ago, I would have laughed and said you were insane...but it's so true now...I'm itching to get up and exercise right this minute...likely will once I finish these posts. Whodathunk it?!
Enjoy the pics below...and your "Caturday"! My Hazel is fascinated with the snow and is racing back and forth between my front and back windows...it's so funny to watch her!
