@Kali225 many hugs flying your way. It is a lot of crazy energy going back to work, a new place, snack walls (yikes) and rage quitting a workout that just didn't fit after that is perfect! You didn't binge, and I'll bet that shower felt amazing. You will feel better after some delicious zzzzzzzzzzs
Who's up for Thursday?

Evening folks! Great job on week 5 of July.. it's been a long time since we've had 8 people participating at once!
There is a monthly summary for July still to come!! I promise I'll get it done before August week 1
Brad and I did an awesome 30 minute upper body strength workout together tonight.. the muscles are shaky!! Love it.3 -
@ashleycarole86 I'd like to join the step challenge. I'm back to working from home so hopefully this motivate me to get up and move. Except from my desk to the couch. ππ₯Ί Starting small - 5000 step goal.
Wonderful!! Looking forward to having you for August.

Good morning WaistAways!
You're not going to believe this, but I weighed in at 181.8 this morning. If I can keep even half of this loss for my official weigh in tomorrow, we'll be in excellent shape.
And I'm cancelling the gym for tonight, Whatsisface (what I call my husband online) wanted to play video games together, π₯Ίπ₯Ίπ₯Ί so that's what we're going to do.
I threw dinner together last night to use up some tomatoes and cabbage from the garden, but it ended up being really delicious:
chickpea pasta cavatappi (banza brand, delicious!) with red cabbage, bacon, tomato, shallots, garlic, and pesto. It hit that pasta craving while still being a big bowl of stuff because of the cabbage, and a little pesto went a long way.
I'm just gonna go with posts on this page, and declare bankruptcy before this page, lol.
WAY TO GO:
@AshenMoon, well done on the loss!
@TCathey45 figuring out exercise scheduling before the school year is a very smart and good idea. Once the school year starts, it's hard to add onto that plate.
@conleywoods it's funny you mention your husband wishing on a star- mine told me this morning that he's finding the weight I'm losing. Being consistent with food is a great goal, and one that will make for good and reliable habits.
@DD265 love to see the intentional exercise, and yeah, I could really rough up some tomatoes with just salt and a little oregano. Yummmmm.
@Micki48 glad to hear you're feeling better, and I'm sure like you all, my family is also very relieved to be able to vaccinate my youngest. She's had two, gets her third next month.
@jugar oooh, doing a recording, it all sounds really incredible.
@KellyBgetsfit IF really works for some people to create a deficit, and I know if I could make it through the not-eating times, I could have larger meals, which is the dream,
@Kali225 Sometimes in a workout your body just doesn't want to do it, for whatever reason, and it's good to listen. I hope today's better for you.
@ashleycarole86 I love that you and your husband are working out together. Swole-mates.
I'm gonna go start drinking my water, hopefully hang on to as much of this loss as I can before tomorrow! Have a great day, everyone!3 -

Deep breaths. I really didn't expect it to be that high. Green from here on out!
@CupcakeCrusoe That looks yummy! I have tried several times over the last year to do IF but have failed. I am up 8ish pounds from where I maintained awhile. I get hungry in the morning from my workouts so it's a hard adjustment.

Ok - put me back in coach!! This is actually a 6 pound loss from my high weight after holidays but I probably needed 1-2 more days to get back.
All good - I'd like to get back down to the lower end of my range anyway so let's do this!!3 -
I get a headache about two times a year. Today is one of those days, it's not dehydration as I've been drinking more water this week (thanks to the accountability tracker) than in the past 6 months. However, I haven't had coffee for two days so it could be caffeine, we'll see.
We have thunderstorms today, I woke around 4am to a clap of thunder and it hasn't stopped since. One thing I've found living here in MO, is that we don't have rain on it's own. We have majestic thunderstorms that rage and go quiet and rage again. At least the plants and the fields will have a days respite before it's 91 (33C) degrees and sunny again.
I'm going to try a new workout today, I'll let y'all know how it goes3 -
Happy Thursday!KellyBgetsfit wrote: Β»CW 155.8

@LoraineGB ugh - the caffeine headache. There is no more miserable headache. If that is what you are having, you have my deepest sympathies. I only drink one coffee a day (it's really strong, though!) and without it, that headache can lay me very low. It does pass after a couple of days, but, I'd rather just drink the coffee
I'm off to Montreal today for a play session with my sound artist laptop musician whatever we're calling them these days. It's 3 hours of bus time, but I'll try to walk as much as possible before and after we work. If the thunderstorms aren't too terrible. Tally ho!

Shaky muscles are a great feeling @ashleycarole86 - like you are uncomfortable but you earned it so it's all good
@LoraineGB I know a few people who get headaches when there are particularly bad storms (the pressure, I guess) so hopefully it passes soon.
We had a new side dish of lemon rice with tea yesterday which was nice and fresh, but they wanted 200g rice (dry weight) for two people; I reduced it down to 140g but there was still far too much so will do 100g in future. It's a common issue I have with recipes but I feel like I need to try what the book says before making adjustments. As we have our recipes stored as online notes, it's easy to amend them without writing in the book so we make all kinds of tweaks as we go.
I am craving chocolate and have asked OH to buy me some on the way home, so I can avoid going to the shop myself and buying All. The. Things. I am feeling that way out, but last time I just binge-shopped and this week I've delegated. Let's see if it's an effective strategy.4 -
Hello! Taking it easy today after trapesing around Toronto yesterday. We went to see 'Harry Potter and the Cursed Child'. This was my youngest first time in T.O. Her take was that it smelled like cigarettes and Walmart. Tracking and water intake did not happen. Back on track today.
Steps as follows;

Hello! Yesterday was a perfect day with exercise and all the right food! Today has been a different story πͺ Things got a little stressful really fast. I've been trying to take a final exam for one of my masters courses but the internet won't support my Webcam. I finally decided to just go into work this morning to take my test. My husband noticed a job opening last night in his old building. We are just waiting around to find out if he officially gets the job. I did pass my test which is awesome. Unfortunately I brought home burgers, fries and milkshakes π I will just have to be good for dinner!8

@KellyBgetsfit I did IF in 2020 and had great success with it until I got covid in Aug '21 and haven't been able to get in the groove with it since
@Kali225 I really like the idea of a perfect day to get back on track, it sounds achievable although after a period of being off track, I really struggle to get back on
@ashleycarole86 I would like to join the step challenge with a daily goal of >5,000, Steps for this week are Su 9,411, Mo 5,205, Tu 8,509, We 5,029, Th 9,880
@CupcakeCrusoe Great weigh in today. Your pasta dish looks so amazing!
@jugar Hope you had an good day recording and your bus journey's weren't too bad
@DD265 I haven't heard about pressure headaches so I will do some research and find out more. I am not a natural cook so I follow a recipe to a tee, I do my mis en place and put them in a row so I know what is next on the recipe, lol. Do you have Orchard Valley Harvest where you live, I get the Dark Chocolate Cherries, they are individually wrapped and are 120 calories a bag and I find they satisfy my chocolate cravings
@MsMcClane your post made me laugh, out of the mouth of babes ' cigarettes and walmart'

Hi team, sorry I'm late to the intro party. Insert home reno based excuse here:....
I'm Courtney, and I live near Ottawa, Canada and work from home as a policy writer in aviation. My home is where all my time and energy is spent, mostly moving rocks around the property as we change our minds on where they should be stacked! the latest project has been focused on creating a level pad for a hot tub to ease the aches after all the renovations are done.
My weight loss story involves me losing and regaining the same 60lbs in different increments over and over for the past 20 years. Due to the support of this team, I have maintained my current 55lb loss for over a year. I would like to lose a bit more and tone up my lower body, but I'm in a pretty happy place (you sure get killer biceps from hauling rocks).
@jugar, I'm learning to play the banjo!! I borrowed it from my local library. They have several musical instruments they loan out to citizens. Such a great program! Who knew?!?
I missed my weigh in this morning as I wasn't feeling well and had to skip out on hockey this week as a result. π I think I was also a victim of a pressure headache but it seems to have passed now. 2 games scheduled for next week, not going to miss it this time.

Drumroll please.... our final July results! GREAT PARTICIPATION! Everyone should be very proud.. July is a busy month (was one of my craziest!) so I'm so happy to see so many reporting in and being accountable.
Looking forward to August!

Also.. MEGA consistency gold star to @Kali225 .... you met your pledge all 35 days of July! WOW!4

Made it home - we had a really fun afternoon experimenting with all kinds of things. We even had snippets of Julia Child's voice from her old television shows talking about sharp knives and explaining a recipe. It fit into our improvisation brilliantly - and we had a good laugh!
Food was not great today - a sandwich for lunch, soft ice cream for "supper", veggie crisps, hummus and raw carrots when I got home because the ice cream happened at 4 pm and I was hungry! Hopefully my weigh-in won't be too weird tomorrow. On the plus side, I got plenty of steps, lots of stairs, and even some running in.
Here's the Friday line-up - lots of new people in there - good luck!!

Step team for July - over 2 MILLION steps! Wow. I love it.1 -
Now that I've got July off my plate, time to catch up with my exercise stats for August week 1:
July 31: 5416 steps
Aug 1: 9450 steps + 46 minutes Peloton
Aug 2: 10024 steps
Aug 3: 9520 steps + 30 minutes strength

@conleywoods congratulations on your test!
I thought I was having a great day until I logged in my last meal, dinner. +250 cal. π Still trying to familiarize myself with the app. Anyone know if there is a way to search recipes by ingredients? E.g., "show recipes with sweet potato."
Tomorrow is another day plus a pool day!
My tomatoes are turning! π π π π π3 -
NSV: today was the 1 mile benchmark at orange theory fitness. The past 2 times I did it as a power walker, which is 1/2 the distance. Today I decided to jog the full mile. I did it in 12 minutes and 36 seconds! Sounds slow compared to others, but I think that's the fastest mile I've done in my life! π6

Considering when we got back home on Sunday and I was in the 190's, I'll take it! We had SUCH a good time and visited all of my favourite spots. Thankfully, having the skills and commitment to get back on track leaves me confident that I'll be back to pre-trip weight either next week or the week after.
I see that @ashleycarole86 has switched back to the regular team from Maintenance. First, I'm proud of her that she also allowed herself to have fun, while still making mostly good choices - it's truly no fun to go on vacation and not allow yourself to experience some fun - I know you'll be back in Maintenance very soon as you're the fiercest and most determined person I know. Secondly, GREAT to have you back with us on the regular team! We missed you!!! Feel free to stick around a while eh? ππ€5 -

Loss: 4.4 lbs!!!!! this is a big ol' anomaly, a whoosh after ovulation, but it is a new low for me and I will take it!
Good morning WaistAways!
Do I have to tag you when I do this, @jugar?
So I kept the loss from yesterday! Very pleased. Gaming was stressful yesterday (lol, I know, I know), and the baby woke me up at quarter to three this morning and fussed for an hour. I get up at 4. So I expected my weight to be higher, but this is great.
Whatsisface tempted me with pizza yesterday (Fridays are our pizza days, not Thursdays, but I didn't feel like cooking), and I managed to push back and made some potato/red cabbage hash (both from our garden!) with an egg on top. So much less calorific than pizza, that I was able to make myself a small ice cream cone and it fit my calories. Gotta love that.
It's Friday, I'm in love (with tags)
@KellyBgetsfit I can only imagine exercise in the middle of your fasting window would be so hard. Maybe too hard? Could you exercise not in that time, or is that the only time you have? I am personally a bear if I have to exercise on an empty stomach, and my performance suffers.
@ashleycarole86 I love this attitude about losing again.
@LoraineGB I hope the not-as-hot period stretches a little for you. Where I live, it storms and then it's even hotter and muggier, lol.
@jugar 3 hours of bus time! I mean, that's great knitting or reading time!
@DD265 I think it's a great idea to have your husband bring you a thing you want from the store. Maybe I'm weird, but Whatsisface buying me even little things, even ones I told him to get, feels just a little like a present? Lemon rice sounds interesting.
@MsMcClane I'm the WORST about water intake when I'm on the go. Even when I'm at home on the weekend, because I'm so busy I forget to drink water. I'm only good about it at work, where I'm chained to my desk (figuratively, lol)
@conleywoods I hate IT issues when you have a big deadline, very stressful. I'm sure you did mitigate burger/fries/shake a little!
@PlaneMonkey oooh, hot tub! And banjo! Moving rocks... Sounds busy, in a good way!
@KayLRZ I'm not sure about MFP recipes, but I can tell you about a website I use for utilizing weird bits of produce: foodcombo.com. When I don't know what to do with a thing, I type it in there and it gives me some ideas. Welcome to the Tomato Club.
@lauren_989 way to go! The only competition should be the person in the mirror, after all.
@bowens1973 I love a trip where you hit all the good stuff you wanted to. I'm sure you'll be back on track in no time.
Have a great Friday, everyone!

Have a lovely weekend everyone π₯°10 -
@loraineGB I've not heard of that store, but there are various options out there. I have chocolate mousses which are about 90 calories each and because they're eaten with a spoon, it feels like you've had quite a lot. I've also got 10 calorie jellies that are good if it's a general sweetness craving. Sometimes they hit the spot and sometimes only the 'real thing' will do.I am craving chocolate and have asked OH to buy me some on the way home, so I can avoid going to the shop myself and buying All. The. Things. I am feeling that way out, but last time I just binge-shopped and this week I've delegated. Let's see if it's an effective strategy.
Not an effective strategy - he forgot!
I walked down to the shop, bought a 2-serving bar, and we did share it. I walked back via the allotment just to check on it, and spent over an hour talking to our plot neighbours, who'd made a start on clearing their plot today. Maybe it's a good thing I'm normally there on my own lol.3 -
@ashleycarole86
My steps this week will only be from Wednesday because my Fitbit wasn't charged before.
Wednesday 15,201 steps
Thursday 25,483 steps π±π
My husband, youngest boy Ben and I went for a walk yesterday. It supposed to be short walk but ended up being 6 mile! π Busy work evening after and my legs are really aching

Not impressed with myself but there is also still some food in transit after my 'too sick to play hockey' pity-party with the cookie box. I heard all of your voices telling me I didn't need another as I reached into the cupboard, but I'm a victim of my success and I fluffed it off with 'I can lose it again, I've done it before' which is the slippery slope I've tumbled down on each of my major weight-loss life events. I will not let it get that far! We are turning this wagon around. Back to the lower decade by next week or else I will have to think of some serious consequences.... Like no cake on my birthday next week... Or having to do burpees... Or something equally horrible!
Feel free to brainstorm team!6 -
Happy Friday!
You all are seriously fun today. The COOKIES @PlaneMonkey ! You put it perfectly about the "fluffing it off" slippery slope. Burpees might be a bit extreme, though. I cannot think of any exercise I hate more. I'll do pushups until I drop, but burpees - nope. But I'm sure you can come up with some other sweat-inducing circuit or HIIT thing to get those cookies kicked on out. Of course hockey Rack up a few perfect days before your birthday, though. You need cake - one piece! Give away the rest.
@bowens1973 I split up your gain by backdating last week's excused weigh-in. Couldn't let a 2-week result just sit there like that.
@CupcakeCrusoe and anyone else - no you do not need to tag me when you weigh in. I never pay attention to notifications and never search by tags. Just as long as your weigh-in is at the top of your message, nice and obvious, no tag needed!
Back later - I have to run out to pick lettuces before the deluges begin.2
