My weight was good this week, but I did what others talk about. Weighing in several times because I didn't believe it. The beginning part of the week was not good eating by any means, but I did turn it around after a couple days.

I love reading what everyone is up to, but I don't post too much myself. I should start getting a little better at that part 😊
Fantastic 2 weeks in a row, 1.4 lbs each, that's 2.8 pounds GONE - woohoo! And don't worry about posting a lot - every little update is totally welcome and gives everyone more to talk about

After I posted yesterday, my mind went into overdrive and I had a full out crying meltdown before putting myself to bed.
Before that, I finished the day about 500 calories over thanks to a donut and wine and the exercise I thought I'd do but didn't.
Moving on. That's all I can do!

Will be back next with our week 1 step report!

Slowly drink a big glass of water. Really really slowly. Good cure for onset of meltdown and mind overdrive! Putting yourself to bed was an excellent decision - you'll get through the hard parts

Middle of the week check in.

So far, so good. I love when my head is in the game, it makes it so much easier to make good choices for my mind and body. And bear in mind I am coming off 6 months of poor decisions and lazyitis as my dad used to call it :D

@ashleycarole86 Steps so far this week:

    Su 3,883
    Mo 11,567
    Tu 7,302
    We 8,069

This evening we finished all the preparations for tomorrow's rock delivery so hubby decided we would begin staining the wall by the waterfront.... That lead to sanding and staining railings, stairs and a retaining wall. We only stopped because we ran out of daylight (so glad it's August and not the summer solstice!!)
Arms are jello, let's see what tomorrow brings.

Can't wait to see the photos and it sounds like you have a great day planned for your birthday, will you be using your shiny red cement mixer??

I'm sitting here laughing as I picture @PlaneMonkey with the shiny red cement mixer, but arms of jello. Red jello? Yellow jello? Help! I can't stop!

So the Thursday lineup - let's see how those jello arms and jello legs are doing

It was great putting together the step report this week. 12 participants - love it!!
Over three quarters of a million steps earned... way to go team!!!

Here is my exercise for week 2 thus far:
    8/7: 13038 steps + 10 minutes strength + 30 minutes yoga
    8/8: 12009 steps + 30 minutes yoga + 12 minutes Peloton
8/9: 6293 steps (wait, does crying add extra??? Oh boy...)

Thanks for the kind words all. Nice to have here to come and speak about my troubles. They're not major, but they're the kind of thing that can make treating my body right difficult. We all know making poor choices doesn't HELP the bad situation, but it's good to come here and remind myself of that.

I definitely have a lot of urge to eat right now. I have been keeping that in check for the most part - no big binge sessions or anything, but I do have hankerings for things and less give a crap to say a strict no. I ate 625 calories more this week than I planned, BUT my plan was at a 10% deficit from maintenance, so even with that overage factored in, I was still in a minor deficit.

Having said that, my TOM is here too (maybe that is also part of the crying eh...), and that always brings my weight up for a few days. So, may be up tomorrow again.

No changes planned for the week ahead - still working the plan the same as ever. Just hoping I get a bit more time / energy with this in flux work situation to give back to my exercise.

Anyway, see you in the morning for weigh in! Night friends.

@KellyBgetsfit Woo-hoo for being in the green! You are on a roll for sure 👍

@PlaneMonkey Happy early birthday 🎂 Can't wait to see the hot tub project come together! You have really accomplished a ton of projects this summer.

@ashleycarole86 You know the TOM can really throw things off and skew your perspective. I spend a lot of time talking about this with my 13 year old daughter lately. It really can make annoying things feel like the end of the world that can only be solved with cupcakes. Hang in there. You were also just on a nice relaxing long vacation and work stress can be a bit of a shock after such a nice break. It's not fair but you can do this!

So far I have my third day in a row of meeting my macro goals! I am super happy about this. I have been trying to remind myself that it is my choice what I eat. This is helping me stay focused and not say "who care". I'm also changing my internal self talk from "I need to be more ridged with my macros " to " I am devoted to my macro goals ". I feel this shifts my thinking from punishment to self love.

I got a new scale. My wellness coach just started selling the home version of her inbody scanner at cost. I am getting ready to move to seeing her less often so it was important to me to have this tool. It doesn't measure nearly as many things as her scanner but it does look at weight, body fat percentage and how many pounds of muscle you have. I compared my scales measurements to the scan she did on me the previous day. They were very close and I have 2 more scans with her in the next 4 weeks. This will help me get use to my scale and how it compares to the clinical version. My last 2 scans I basically weighed the same overall. The last one I really wasn't meeting my macros and I lost over a pound of muscle and gained over a pound of body fat. Just shows how important it is to meet my macros. Pounds just doesn't show the whole picture. I guess you can't argue with the data.

Team, I barely slept last night with all the excitement that today will bring! Work has a crazy bunch of new projects I want to dive into, there's all the excitement for the rock delivery and moving vehicles around to accommodate it, and then there's my last round-robin hockey playoff game tonight, that's a do-or-die situation against the team everyone hates.... It's going to be an ugly showdown....

So with all that, I also set my alarm wrong and woke up with 12 minutes to spare before work so I was dressed and at the keyboard before I realized I forgot to weigh in. Even with clothes on I'm back in the 'proper' decade so when I weigh in tomorrow, first thing (I promise!) it will hopefully be good.

Random side note, a friend asked me to be her guarantor for her passport and it made me dig mine out. It was from 2016 when I had reached my highest weight ever.... There were definitely some extra chins in that photo. It makes me realize that I will just have to ensure I maintain this loss until 2026 when it expires to make sure I have a great photo on the next one. 😉

    Hey Team
I'm going to have to step back from this challenge. My sister has been in the hospital since Monday and things aren't looking good.
I'm so sorry to hear this - I will put you on the support team and you can drop in any time if you need to. When you are ready, you can go back onto the regular team, no matter how long it takes. Hugs to you - take care of yourself as well as your sister

    I know this exact feeling!
I almost worry when they're checking my ID they'll question it.. it's a very different version of me.
Brad is in the same boat.
Great idea to use that as motivation so our next ID photos are at our lower weights! Same with my driver's license.

    Greetings Friends!

Sorry that I've been out of the loop this week - it's been a little bit manic!

I've just finished a 4-day training stint and even though I delivered the training online (I had participants from Texas, Indiana, Delamere, Ottawa, Dublin and Hamburg), it's exhausting! Fortunately I have tomorrow free, so I'm planning a lie-in and a slow day.

@PlaneMonkey you're very kind - my workouts are my happy place! I too am anxious to see more pictures of your new shiny red cement mixer! Happy birthday too!

@Tcathey45 - my thoughts are with you, your sister and the rest of your family.

False start/Jumped the gun - that's what I did last week - turns out I wasn't really ready to begin again. Thank you all for your nice comments regarding my mum.
Hoping that a new schedule/routine settles in quick 'cause it'll be easier to manage my food intake and maybe even get a walk in now and then. The ridiculously prolonged heatwave FINALLY broke...that really was the worst (@jugar laughed at the vision of you laying on cold cellar floor - I totally get that!). Spent time in the veg garden yesterday - tearing out what died and encouraging along what didn't - please give me some tomatoes.
So a routine will help but also cutting out the wine would help too. I'm going to put that on my habit-tracker...in Sept.
@Tcathey45 hope things turn around and improve for your sister.
@ashleycarole86 sounds like you've a few stressors piling on all at the same time; hang in there.
