I am just crossing my fingers that this week can calm down vs the prior 3-4 weeks. Slowly caught up on reading your posts the last week. Summer is challenging a lot of us I think with social engagements. Ready for some "lonely" fall weekends!!
While I was happy with my last weigh-in, I know this Tuesday is not going to be as pretty. I would simply NOT stop snacking for the last 6 days! Urgh. I just finished a bowl of salad so there is hope.

My weight climb is so awful. I can’t stand it. Not really behaving that differently but I have regained so much since I moved. 🫣😔

Oh wow! Thanks Liselyn. I had no idea. Hopefully I can get my act together and start losing. I do not like this weight. I’m too hot.Glad I sat on the sidelines this month - I wouldn't have helped the team AT ALL. Just hopped on the scale and I've hit that upper 'decade' 170.4....grrrr. I've scanned through the chat and can tell I want to sit later and really read through - good inspirational conversation there - @PlaneMonkey REGRET @jugar ALCOHOL and more... I need to regroup and be ready to hit September seriously. I might even set a goal for Christmas or my January birthday. @micki48 you with me?
And no thanks to the MFP bozo who thought withholding the handy barcode scanner would inspire me to sign up for Premium....makes me dig my heels in even more, not doing it.
@eggfreak I’m right there with you Sylvia. I know it will be a challenge. Tomorrow is my first official day back to school. No kids yet, just meetings and trainings. We can do this. We have before. Goals for Christmas! Yes! Need to think of something manageable.

Sooooooo sorry I've been slacking. I swear it hasn't been intentional. This has been a weird month for me and I got way off my normal routine, so when I'd remember to weigh in and get on here, it's not when I'm ACTUALLY able to, so then I forget and well, the rest is history!
Anywhoo...August has historically been a rough month for me. I'm not sure why, but looking back at my records for the past few years, this month is ALWAYS the one I just start dropping off of everything. I'm not sure if it's burn out? I'm kind of thinking it is in a way, but I don't feel overwhelmed, I just feel blah and unmotivated. I know my Kapha is way high and out of whack right now, so the best thing for me would be to actually get my butt moving again, but even changing into my work out clothes has felt like too much effort. So you know what I've been doing instead? Reading 3 books at a time and learning to juggle. Yeah, that has been my month...
I actually felt so demotived that I reached out to a friend who is also a coach and feeling utterly stupid doing so (because I should know how to do all this stuff) and am thinking about employing her coaching services. Do any of you work with a coach? If so, how's it going?

Not a good week for me last week, my anxiety is full on and I constantly have that sick feeling in the pit of my stomach.
We had a lot of running around in town on Friday and ended up going for Happy Hour. It was a lot of fun but led to us having Happy Days on Sat and Sun too! We basically partied all weekend so now I have to be diligent in trying to recoup something back by Friday weigh in

@jugar Thanks for the encouragement! I think my problem is trying to do too much during the day (workday specifically) and then handle all my home responsibilities in the evening that I just get exhausted without realizing it. I do usually bounce back in September, but I need to draft a solid plan by the end of the week. As for weigh ins, can you switch me to Tuesday? I have my real appeal session I have to weight in for anyways, so then I can do it all at once2

@bobagurl2017 I had a lanky Golden Retriever years back who was so excited by visiting a friend at her apartment that he peed all over a book case. Sheesh!
@eggfreak I laughed when I read about digging in your heels with pressure to sign up for premium! Screw 'em. Yep. I can definitely relate!

I've been nibbling on things that "help" me deal with humid weather...well, probably not so much! Chewy sweet-tart minis are so delicious, though! yeah. they help balance salt & vinegar chips. Actually, I haven't had any of *those* for the entire weekend or today at work, which is when I usually want them 'cause I get so hot and sweaty.
I'm going to keep reading along and will write some more in a little while.3 -

@KellyBgetsfit look at all those steps! Way to go. I'm impressed. Even when I walk to and from work, I barely get to 10,000 steps let alone 12,000+!
@Kali225 that's great you're so close to that park. The small part we were in was quite posh. I can just imagine being on those grounds 100+ years ago. Yowza!

@EvMakesChanges haha, that's what happens when you chase 5 years around all day!!! I also want to start walking ot work 1 day a week when it cools down. The afternoons are brutal here. I can only do 1 maybe 2 days because my personal kids have so many after-school activities.
The honeymoon of the school year has ended. The anxiety has kicked in. I am doing my meditation app in the morning and afternoon. I ate 1 slice of cake and 2 slices of pizza on Sunday for Mabel's birthday. 2 days later, the scale is still up 1.5 lbs. 😭😭😭 I can't even look at bad food without gaining a million pounds. I was so hopeful for a green month. I hate that 1 small cheat can destroy the entire month...I lose weight slowly. Ugh.7 -
I know I've been MIA for a good part of this month. I've had bronchetitis that laid me low. Ugh! My PCP was threatening hospitalization, but was hesitant to do so with the current upswing of Covid. So I agreed to bed rest at home. Anyway I haven't done my Tuesday weigh-ins and posting.

Not great, but not disastrous. I had a really solid Monday and this morning is going almost exactly to plan. Woke up on time, had my walk, breakfast, put my lunch together, put an actual outfit together including one of my new pairs of shoes, and caught the train to work right on time. can't believe it's only Tuesday though!! My big goal/hurdle this afternoon: Can I motivate to do my 20 min lower body workout right when I get home from work? (trying to find my inner football coach. I imagine she takes after denzel washington in Remember the Titans. "This is not a democracy. It is a dictatorship.")
I am potentially going to NY for Labor Day Weekend (monday holiday in the US) which would be fun to see some family but also means another weekend of somewhat splurge-y eating. oy.5 -
I signed up for the lose it app and they give you a free week of the premium version (which I have opted out of) so I will see what it's really like once that free trial expires. So far it's fairly similar to the interface with MFP but as I'm not really in a very dedicated place for logging food, I can't really speak to it yet.
I did cancel my premium MFP membership effective the end of September and barcode scanning is one of my favourite parts of logging when I do so I can see that being a factor.
We've run through our entire reno budget and then some, so this fall will hopefully be quieter with more time to focus on food choices and intentional exercise.
One can always hope. 😉

Hello,
I've been reading posts but not finding much time to respond. We are busy getting the school year going. I completed the school clothes/supplies shopping. I have all my school lunch making stuff ready. My husband went to work yesterday for his first day. He has been on edge for weeks after last year was such a disaster. He felt cautiously optimistic after yesterday so I feel like I can relax a little. Tonight is open house. Tomorrow and Thursday I get to pack everyone up and send them out the door. My mother in law and I have 2 fun days planned all to ourselves! Woo-hoo I have been sewing for my fall guinea pig cage stuff and ran out of supplies. Fedex comes today with a new fabric delivery for the second cage set.
This week I'm working on working out in the morning. Once my school year starts in a week I will go back to morning workouts. I quit mornings because my youngest would get up too. Then he would get up earlier and earlier. 4:30 is too early! I'm hoping having my gym set up in it's own room will help with this! But seriously, wish me luck!

You have no idea how glad I am to hear from you! I was worried that something might have happened, and bronchitis with threats of hospitalisation are right up there with the difficult stuff!
YES. You absolutely can participate this coming month. Let me know your starting weight (from today if you want to keep Tuesday weigh-ins). If you still need some weeks off, all you have to do is let me know. The most important thing is to get strong and well.

Your plate is SO full. I remember those times, and was always so thrilled with how much I could get done after having kids. I thought was already doing all that was possible, and then suddenly I was doing the impossible. That's you. Doing the impossible.
Know one thing - it does not last forever. You are a parent forever, but the intense part calms down eventually.5
