Happy Friday MFP!!! Hope every9ne had a great week! The cat came home from the vet on Tuesday. She's doing really good and obviously thankful to be alive. My daughter was sick on Tuesday so I had to call out of work at home with her, but we're sure staff there that I ended up being called in in the evening after my husband got home anyways. Then I had the last two days off spend it hanging with the cat and finishing up some Christmas stuff and being lazy obviously LOL

@CasandraW - Thanks for the encouragement! I’m determined to get out of this funk when my son returns! My husband has been traveling for most of December so my eating routine and exercise have both been off kilter. With my sons home, I’ll likely cook more balanced meals at regular times, instead of eating leftovers at odd times. 🙄

@Nataliewr0403 - I appreciate the laugh — such a funny story! I’m glad you didn’t just ditch the exercise, 45 minutes is better than nothing!

@pedal__power - I hope you feel better soon!

@Pupowl - I always enjoy seeing the pictures you share.

Thanks to everyone who posts inspiring photos. I’d like to improve in this area.

I’m also impressed with all the step numbers and walking reports. I should probably walk more while recovering from my sciatica. I definitely need to add more yoga to stretch out, since I don’t do that enough on my own without a structured class. I think I’ll also look into the recommendations on how much to walk. I’m guessing some movement is helpful but I can push myself too much sometimes so I’m not sure if rest is better.

I’m trying to figure out the right balance! I hope everyone is doing well!

    Saturday weigh in
    PW 225.8
    CW 227

Last weeks weight gives me a loss of 7.4lbs for the year, and a new 10+ year low. The biggest achievement for me this year is a better sense of self and well being. I’m in a much better place mentally than I’ve been in years. Thank you all for listening and offering advise and comfort over the past year.
My goal is to get to 35% body fat, I’m currently sitting right at 40%. I think this will happen around the 200lb mark if I can maintain my muscle mass. I put my current states in spoiler just for reference

Time to flip on a Christmas movie and walk around the room or in place! Works wonders!

    Hey ya'll:

Sounds like everyone has had a pretty good week this week. I'm still dealing with grief from the loss of my fur baby, so I'm not pushing myself to do much "holiday" anything...treating each day just like another day, but it will be nice to have time off from work...next week will be a four day weekend due to Friday off for Christmas Eve and Monday off for Christmas, so I'm looking forward to lots of holiday movies and reading.

Love reading and seeing everyone else's decorations and pet pictures @SavageMrsMoose and @Pupowl all festive in red and green...who doesn't love cat and dog pics?! Lots of walking this week...did my steps every day and ate fairly well...drank lots of water, so no issues there. All in all, it's been a good week. My big NSV was not eating out...I cooked every day...love my air fryer, that's for sure...sometime this weekend, I'm doing another big batch of baked chicken so I'll have lot of leftovers for dinners next week, with only some steamed veggies to prepare to finish the meals. For Christmas Eve and Day, I'll likely have Chinese food...since it's my favorite, but even there I'm watching what I order...teriyaki chicken on a stick (pure protein) and probably chicken and broccoli...veggie egg rolls.

OK, back to some walking and my Christmas book I'm reading...a Very Nantucket Christmas...hope you all have a wonderful weekend!

I'll pop back in later to post next week's challenge. Any ideas or requests?!! Let me know...
    Jessica

Tinus is a persian cat. I believe the coloring mentioned in his vet book is silver tabby. While he does look pretty, I am personally very against breeding persians like Tinus. His face is really extreme which can cause a lot of issues with eyes, teeth and airway. I got him from the shelter, but he looks like a pure breed to me.

Congratulations on the losses at a difficult time of year @SavageMrsMoose, @Pupowl, and @mulecanter! 👏👏🎉👏👏

Do you have any tips to share?

@LaurieWrobo - Stay warm! 🥶 I was thinking about taking a family trip to Boston early in the new year, but it’s been cold enough here in northern Virginia.

My ‘southern son’ - who is studying in South Carolina - spent the summer in Boston and lived at my mother’s house. So, he likes the idea of visiting during the warmer season instead of our traditional holiday visit just after Christmas through the first week of January. I suspect his first New Year’s Eve as a 21-year-old (now allowed to drink alcohol as an adult) is influencing his decision to spend the holidays with his local friends, too. He’s looking forward to attending a surprise party for one of his friends tonight, which he’s been helping to plan with his friend’s family.

My ‘northern son’ enjoys the different seasons, and he’ll be returning to Boston on January 4th. His classes don’t start until later in the month but he’s working to build some healthier habits and wants to practice his new sleep routine, cook more at home instead of ordering meals and having them delivered, etc. He also wants to renew his Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) license so he can work as an EMT during the summer break this year. I’ll probably take a short trip to Boston before his classes start and spend a bit more time with him while visiting my mom, siblings, extended family, and friends. My husband is there now, taking his Dad on local excursions from his senior care facility and attending a holiday celebration with the staff and other residents.
