Hi and welcome to all the new members.

Drews Anna, I hope your hubby is feeling better. I didn’t find anything depressive in your post. I appreciate the honesty in it, most of us will find something that fits us too.

Shmoo, I like this idea of pepper palace. I hesitate in buying new hot sauces, because I don’t want stuck with something that has no flavor only heat. Taste tests would be helpful.

Meg, you and I both will be posting. I promise to not to get sick of it 😊

Congrats Shmoo on your loss posted above

Hi, I'm Lisa, live in Florida, married 31 years, 2 adult children- 1 lives here- looking for that first job. The other is in college. I've been in this group for a couple of years now and really enjoy the camaraderie and support it provides. I've struggled with my weight since college and have taken weight off successfully several times over the years. Now that I'm at a more "mature" age, it's become harder.

2022 wound up being a no loss year for me. I have a bunch of excuses about it. I'm just going to push those aside and get started again. Determined to have some results this year!

    @Katmary71 - hug received! Thank you! Here's one for you {{HUG}}

    Morning everyone!

Ugh. I’m on day 13 of a horrible virus. Can’t wait for this to be over. BUT I did my two squats, 2 push-ups and 2 crunches this morning. Little win!

Today I walked from my bed to my recliner in the living room and that may be just about enough.

Fingers crossed for some relief today! I Hope you all have a great one!

@DrewsAnna excellent goals! I wish you and your hubby a year of peace and good health.

Happy New Year! My name is missy and I live with my bichon and 3 huskies. I work full time going back to school at the end of the month. I started gaining weight when I started my current job about 10 years ago. Went from a very physical job to a sedentary job that consumed my life for years. Getting back to a healthier me this year.

A very quick check in tonight. As is evidenced, by my way, in this week, I had too much food enjoyment over the near year. I am back on track, eating wise. I went to my spin class this morning, and the instructor nearly killed me, she had been gone for two weeks and had a lot of energy.🤣. I then went over to my daughter and son-in-law‘s house, we went tobogganing with the grand kiddos, then they wanted to go play in the playground. We walked across the field, which is about three blocks long, and sank about a foot deep into the snow, the whole way, my legs are killing me, and I can hardly keep my eyes open. Playing in a playground in 1 to 2 feet of snow is a very different experience, I am just ready to drop.
I will catch up more tomorrow, I hope everybody had a very happy new year.

@shaunarlr83 Thank you for sharing that. I will print it.

@Meg I hope you feel better soon. Good job on getting in some exercise.

    Welcome Lisa & Missy 😊

Congratulations @FushiaKat and all those who made the leader board. How exciting!!

@trooworld I applaud your water drinking goals. Im struggling with it. I always forget to add it too my diary too.

@laurelfit57 I’m exhausted just reading that. It must be fun though.

    Welcome to the group Bethany.

@Katmary71 that was some craziness, no lights and fire alarms going off. I would have just beat it with a broom. 😂

    Today’s update

    No zero day(s):

I made brownies and didn’t touch any! If thats not an achievement!

I have a plate of almond (my fave), pistachio, cheese and thyme, untouched by me! Miracles do happen! I just keep saying, it’s not worth it.

I started a once a week course with a friend which also makes me be accountable. The instructor is nice and patient, so will be working on sticking with it.

    Rambling ahead:

I haven’t touched bread or pasta for over a week. Since last Tuesday, I am down 6.6 lbs. I’m not doing any particular exercise besides housework and steps (still under 10k, all rain here, so staying indoors). I have been working on my meals. My zucchini lasagna, yesterday was beef stew with no potatoes. I use cups instead of bowls, so I eat less and tell myself if I am still hungry I can get more.
My breakfast is the same everyday for a week to make it easier to log. My snacks have been greek yogurt or oatmeal, which I never thought I’d enjoy.
No bread and sticking to 1200ish calories is working for me. It’s the bread! As soon as I reintroduced it, weight loss slowed to almost a stop. So far I am not crying from leaving it behind 🫣 slightly grouchy though. Everyone knows I’m off the bread 😂

    Hey everyone!

Just a quick check in. Had a productive day, I helped my son clean his room - he’s 7 - and it was an all day job. It was also the first day I’ve stayed vertical for so many hours so I think that’s a great sign. Having some trouble resting tonight, hence the 1am post. 😛

I’m very happy with my eating today. I didn’t track calories but I just ate like a regular person with a healthy food relationship. You know, there have been a lot of days I wouldn’t want anyone to see what I eat out of embarrassment. Like I could easily eat 12 mini chocolate bars in a day around Halloween because I would have one or two every time I walked past the box, spread over 18 hours) But I would never dream of letting anyone see me eat like that. Today I could have live-streamed my full day and everything I put in my mouth and had nothing to be embarrassed about. So that’s a win! Haha.

Meg, you did great! I know how those candy bars can get you. I had my moments when something I liked was around, I’d keep snacking. I think the group and accountability is helpful.

Troo, I don’t know why getting water in is such a challenge besides cold weather doesn’t make it as appealing. I see I am not alone on the cleaning. I’m doing my closets today and marie kondo would be proud. No joy no joy goodbye 😂

I’m so happy that my eating plan is working. It’s extremely encouraging to see the lbs go. I’m on a medication that first list rapid weight gain and it’s true! It flew on but here I am determined to get it under some type of control. Now to get more steps and water and I’ll be a happy camper.

@lrjogger1 congrats on the loss! I think I was matched with the perfect group, I find so many common points. I’m struggling not to type me too on every post. It’s nice to see.

@19shmoo69 – The hot sauces my son got me were all from a Pepper Palace in Virginia. I’ve only been to the one in Chicago. Good for you for not letting them see you sweat with that Flatliners! That’s crazy you had to sign a waiver! I’m so jealous!
@megnolia82 – Hugs, lady! I’m feeling the same way. And I’m an all-or-nothing person, too. We can work on it and we CAN do this!
@AmbersWay – Anxiety is a you-know-what. Just know we are all in the same boat, rowing in the same direction. Nice job on your No Zero Days and staying off the bread!
@trooworld – Nice job on only one dinner serving! Eating multiple servings is definitely something I’m working on stopping.
@shaunarlr83 – Thanks for the graphic and I love how you’re going to color code it! Stealing your idea!
@Katmary71 & @trooworld – Be glad you don’t live where I do…it’s not fireworks, but shotguns getting fired off!

Like @Cornanda I ended 2022 the same as I started. I have been trying to think long and hard about my 2023 goals, but I have been sidetracked by debilitating anxiety about having to fly to Virginia on Thursday. I have not flown in over 25 years. It’s not the airports or finding my way around. It’s the actual LEAVING THE GROUND that I have an unnatural terror of. I looked at my FitBit this morning. Shows I fell asleep around 3:30am and woke up around 7:30…but I had ZERO deep sleep. I don’t even remember actually getting any dream time, either. All I could think about was flying and trying to keep myself from crying. Ok. Enough about my phobia. Back to 2023 goals. I’m going to ruminate on them today and post them later this evening along with a new mantra for this year.

@bethanie0825 Great job on keeping up with your supplements! I love the No Zero Days too! You had a great last two days as well!

@AmbersWay Great job on not eating the brownies, that would be really hard! Sounds like you're doing great at avoiding food that is setting you back, glad it's helping!

@megnolia82 Sounds like a perfect day, way to go! I'd be embarrassed if people saw me at times too.

@micaroo4 Walking every day is still awesome, keep it up! That is a very long shift!

@trooworld Wow that's some serious decluttering, can you come here next?! Now you got me thinking about the last time I cleaned my blinds and I don't remember doing it in years, thanks a lot! I'll check out YouTube if I decide to rectify that!

@lrjogger1 All your goals sound like things you can do, I hope this is the year you get there AND master maintaining!

@vegan4lyfe2012 Oh no, I'm so sorry to hear about your flying phobia, huge hug to you! Twenty five years is a long time, were you nervous the last time or is your fear new? How long is the flight? I hope you master this and it goes well but I get struggling with sleeping because of it.

@happysquidmuffin Wow that is a big difference, way to go!Those are great results!

Hi Slimpossibles! I just got home from decorating banker boxes to go in stores to collect Valentine's for Seniors in our town, I have a few in the trunk to drop off the next few days. I'm super happy as I've been trying to get my neighbor to go to the charity stuff with me as I knew she'd like it and she cancelled all last year at the last minute because of anxiety (hasn't been out much between COVID and her husband dying) and she finally came and met me there as I was picking up another member, she had a great time and even cried at some of the cool things we do and signed up and is dropping off boxes too so I'm real happy for her. I know how hard that first step is when you haven't been around strangers in a long time. Aside of that worked out and bought supplies for tonight, totally on track with everything.

No Zero Days- did full workout, ate under calories. Didn't go for taco Tuesday and didn't touch the cookies for volunteers and they smelled amazing and were white chocolate chip macadamian which I love!

@vegan4lyfe2012 I hope you have a beautiful, easy and safe flight.

@happysquidmuffin Congrats on that loss and the new position at work.

@Katmary71 I love your charity work and how sweet that your neighbor joined in. I’m sure it will be a huge benefit for her and the charity ❤️. Your post made my heart happy and a smile that almost hurts. I haven’t been out on the town doing any projects since my health issues, so hearing about yours makes me so happy. Keep up the amazing work! Also, way to go on your no zero days!!!!

@megnolia82 well done on another great day!

Just popping in to say yesterday was a very good day. I ate decent. I'm going back to tracking my food, but I entered half the day on the app and then it all disappeared, so I quit and will try again today. I bought myself a new aerobic step that's much larger and I used it yesterday, plus took two walks.

@trooworld - your clothing forest made me laugh.

@vegan4lyfe2012 - sending you a hug that the plane ride goes well for you.

That's all I've got time for. Thanks for the inspiration I'm getting from everyone's posts!

@AmbersWay - I hope you had a great Anniversay, what a fun day to celebrate! I still feel so young myself 😂 hope this doesn’t change for a good long while! Your welcome for that chart and I’m glad people liked it, and bread is my arch enemy too! I love it! All kinds and it hates me so much! I noticed a few years ago it also gives me joint pain. But I still love it! If I don’t have bread then I want sweets so now you have me craving brownies, so awesome you walked away from them.

@vegan4lyfe2012 - A very very late and heartfelt “Thank you” for my card!!! I only received 2 cards this year and both were from my Jennifer friends 😂 I’m gonna send you something special one day!

@happysquidmuffin - I’m wanting to go see it so bad, was waiting until I could rewatch the first one and my brother just told me he has the DVD. I’m so glad you’re loving the gym! Amazing loss!!! You are doing so great and are absolutely right about doors opening!!! I’m happy for you!

@trooworld - love the new phrase!! Thank you for all you do for this group!

    @Jen_967 - it’s lovely to meet you!!!

@megnolia82 - never gonna get sick of you and I hope all your sickness leaves and stays away! Great win with the food and I loved how you worded that!! I feel ya!

@DrewsAnna - I love how much thought you put into your goals! Hope hubby is getting better and y’all get a makeup dinner soon!

@Cornanda - this is our year!!!

@gemwolf110 - I’m finding work, of any kind can get in the way. I’m trying my best to prioritize myself before all other things in my day.

@laurelfit57 - I’ve been having too much fun with the food too! 😂 my gain a surprise for sure. What a fun and exhausting workout!!

@Katmary71 - sorry your evening was a busy! Is it normal to have so many heavy storms there!?

@bethanie0825 - my daughter has been work nights and it’s really messing up my gym time 😂😂😂 I was wanting and overnight shift but now I’m wondering if I would have much of a life.

@micaroo4 - you sound as super busy as me, I’m going going going but still feel I’m not making time for the things I want to do first!

@lrjogger1 - great goals! I too have been successful several times before but have never maintained!!! We got this!

And last but definitely not least @19shmoo69 - I think I speak for everyone when I say! You’re sense of humor is not that awkward, you’re actually pretty much like most people I know, we love when you chime in and your coffee, now spicy, talk! You make us laugh and I think we all need that!!! All meat sounds rough!!! I love my meats but I have to have add ins. Are you craving other things!?

Okay I’m all caught up…whew!!! Last night was first time in over a week that I got more than 5 or 6 hours of sleep! I have been going and doing and my schedule has been crammed but I feel great and I’m getting all sorts of things done.

Our schedules aren’t aligning right now so my daughter has been going to the gym without me, I’m so proud of her for finding her confidence! Hopefully I get to go with her today as I have a slow day of obligations but it will be her 3rd 13 hour overnight shift in a row so she may be pooped.

My son has now moved back in here with my mom and I, he’s never here so not much has changed other than I actually get to see him almost everyday! My brother was trying to spend more time with his girlfriend and needed his space more to himself, totally understandable.

Mom and I finally packed up Christmas decorations last night. Im trying to help her stay on top of cleaning here at home but I’ve also been thoroughly deep cleaning my aunts house. She has a horrible hip and can’t ever have a replacement so she’s pretty much confined to a wheel chair. I’m loving the time I get to spend with her, I’m grateful for the work and extra money, but I’m so over house cleaning 😂 It was kinda the only work I was allowed to do when I was married and I’m grateful for the connections it has given me to special people in my life but it’s just not something I want to do unless it’s my own house!

I haven’t had a zero day yet!!! 🥳🥳🥳 just haven’t had time to nite them. My goals are all the same as usual and I’m hitting them aside from logging my food because my mom has been making dinner before I get home and my aunt has been feeding me lunch. Luckily both are pretty health conscience so I’m not stressing over food options right now. I was so busy Monday night I didn’t eat anything until 10:30 and my aunt had an early lunch ready so I missed my IF window by about 2 hours….not horrible!

My new approach to keeping up here will be to first prioritize it, I like catching up in the evenings, so during the day I will make notes of all I do and hopefully that will keep my personal postings from becoming novels and I’ll stay more closely connected to y’all!!!

@Katmary71 – I have had an unnatural fear of heights for as long as I can remember. It was rough flying 25 years ago. And before that, I had only flown 2 other times. I much prefer road-tripping. I have 2 short flights to deal with – Indiana to North Carolina is 2 hours, then North Carolina to Virginia is about 90 minutes. That was so thoughtful of you to take your neighbor with you. I’m glad she finally agreed.
@AmbersWay – I am so sorry about your botched surgery. Hopefully you have or are seeing a therapist for that trauma. Hugs. And super congrats on your son going into Med school!
@Cornanda – Woot Woot on the decent eating yesterday! How tall is your new step?
@trooworld – The baby isn’t due until April 20th. My son got new orders to be a recruiter in Indiana, so I am flying down to drive the U-Haul back up because his wife doesn’t have a driver’s license. It’s going to be a whirlwind trip. But at least when it’s all said and done, they will be 2 ½ hours from me instead of 12. And I am so proud of you for drinking more water!
@micaroo4 – How extremely frustrating! Situations like that make me cuss. I hope they get it figured out for you!
@shaunarlr83 – You are welcome :) I am out of breath just reading about all your activities! Whew! And it’s nice to read your aunt and mom are health conscious. I’m sure it helps a lot!

So I ended up dozing on and off on the couch last night and figured I should just take my butt to bed. Got about 9 hours of sleep! I really needed it. I have been listening to my Healthi podcasts and thinking about what goals I want to set for myself. My goals are starting off small, but I know myself and if I have grandiose goals, I will quit. One of the main things I want to get back into the habit of is making my bean-of-the-week and grain-of-the-week. I don’t like meal prepping actual meals, but having ingredients at the ready really helps me. This was a habit I was in when I initially lost 60 pounds. For instance, yesterday for dinner I had brown rice, pinto beans, potato “cheeze” sauce, tofu sour cream and guacamole salsa. My other goals are pretty basic, but they are crucial building blocks for me. So here they are in all their plain-jane glory:
    1. Cook a bean and grain for the week
    2. Weigh all food
    3. Log all food
    4. 30 minutes of daily activity
    5. Restaurants only twice per week
    6. Stop eating when pleasantly full

Oh – forgot to mention my No Zero Days successes:
Sunday – Went to Hacienda for dinner and got the black beans, cilantro rice and salsa with guacamole. Only ate half (stopped when I was full) and took the rest home for Monday’s lunch. (I’m from the Clean Plate Generation, so I usually eat it all…even if it makes me want to urp.)
Monday – Almost stopped at BK for an Impossible Whopper. BUT I DIDN’T! Ate the leftover Hacienda instead.
Tuesday – Didn’t pick up pizza like I REALLY wanted. Instead, went home and ate the beans/rice/cheeze meal.
As you can guess, picking up restaurant food is one thing that I have gotten into a really bad habit of. I’m not going to eliminate it altogether, but I am going to limit it to twice per week. We usually go out for dinner on Sundays after church, so I’m going to continue that. Don’t want to take it all away :)

@vegan4lyfe2012 - so proud of you for eating healthy and avoiding too much take out!! Eating at restaurants also gets me in trouble because I overeat.

@shaunarlr83 - yes! We got this. 2023 is going to be the year to finally break the cycle!! That’s so cool that you and your daughter work out together. Hope the “stars align” for you two to get there together soon.

@micaroo4 - ugh! I despise dealing with cable problems. I hope they figure it out once and for all tomorrow. And I hope your able to get your morning workouts in the rest of the week.

@trooworld - daily weighing keeps me focused too! Thanks for the encouragement.

@Cornanda - curious, with your aerobic step do you follow along with a video or make up your own routines? I’ve been to a step class before and had a great workout/ calorie burn, just never thought of doing it at home.

@happysquidmuffin - nice loss this week. And body fat down to 23% too - those are amazing results. Congrats!! I used to be a gym rat in the early 2000’s but then I let myself go. Your mention of being a gym rat and working out like a boss is inspiring me to want to get back to that level of fitness. I remember how awesome I felt and the great group of friends I had at the gym.

@Katmary71 - nice job on your no zero days win. cookies are a weakness for me. Kudos to you for resisting and staying under your calories!!

@megnolia82 - great win in continuing with the squats, push ups and crunches! Way to go! Your story of your son is an inspiration to me - to keep going when things are tough.

    My no-zero days wins:

    Jan 3:
    -ate my vegetables
-30 min @ home strength workout (body weight and some kettlebell)
    -drank 7 glasses of water
-tracked my food and stayed under my calories

    Jan 4:
    -ate my vegetables
    -drank 6 glasses water
    -journaled
-tracked my food and stayed under calories
-2.2 mile walk with my dog

Related to the vegetables I’ve never been much of a vegetable eater and haven’t made many vegetable dishes. This new goal is forcing me to try some new things but would love to hear about vegetable dishes that y’all like that are tasty but not too high in calories.
