@trooworld I hurt my back about half way through the day and we didn't get to go for Chippers pawdicure. I was so disappointed, I was looking forward to it. He was looking forward to it because, I had already put his collar on him so he knew he was going out. He really loves going to stores, lol...... That video sounds so much fun, I used to do zumba and I loved it😀

@Katmary71 I just set a reminder with Alexa to remind me to find that recipe. You are on, I will try some savory oats if you try overnight oats. 😀😀 I hope you and your BF work things out so y'all can have a great weekend.

@Cornanda Are you a reader? There's a few self help books that help you with skills to help with mind set. "The Shift" "You are a Badass" and "Coffee Self Talk" I have started all 3 of them but, I tend to get disturbed a lot. You can get them all on Amazon. Lol, we are watching all the football games also. Hubby is a diehard and I just kind of do whatever through paying attention every now & then except during regular games because I play fantasy football.

    @tammymccrady6278 Congrats on the loss.

    Hey y'all,

Well, I didn't get to take Chipper for his pawdicure because I managed to hurt my back. I helped hubby get all the Christmas bins up in the attic. You need a ladder to get into the attic so, I have to lift them up to him and he puts them away. The bins are heavy. After we finished, I was vacuuming and all of a sudden sharp pain went through my back. Chris helped me to the couch and that was where I stayed for the rest of the day. Today, I took it real easy, I think I got a pinched nerve because it felt better as the went on. Tomorrow, I'm going to clean up the spare play/workout room. The grand beauties and I share it, it's their playroom when they are here and it's my workout room when they aren't. After that, I have to clean the other spare room so I can get to the treadmill.

No Zero Day: Even though I spent yesterday and today on the couch, I still drank all my water. 88 oz per day.

@trooworld - So you didn't feel spicy during the workout either?! I'm not a dancer either- your description of it made me laugh. Good for you getting those workouts in and having a salad and tracking! That is AMAZING about your recipes!

@DrewsAnna - thank you for the book ideas, I will check them out. I hope your back feels better today!

    Hi friends,

I was feeling a lot better yesterday so I decided to give my fitness challenge a try. I took it slow and did the 15 minute beginner workout from day 1 and it went well. I got in my squats and push ups. Im still dizzy so I didn’t do the crunches but hopefully within the next couple days I’ll get back on track with my daily reps!

Catching up for the last couple days

@Cornanda thanks for the information. It has dropped to the 30-40’s. When it goes below 70, I start feeling it. Since I stopped breads, I haven’t had an issue. Today was the first time I checked it but I think it was nerves due to a visit to my surgeon, because it was normal. I will definitely follow the 15-15 rule.

@trooworld, I need to up my activity too. The new dining set is exciting, I was looking for 2 years and finally sent my daughter to choose one. 😂 It’s going to be great for game night and holidays. I’m so excited! It’s much wider than my old table.

    Skinny dipped almonds sound nice!

@shaunarlr83 how sweet of your mom to take you out to celebrate.
I’m so sad to hear the news about Athena.

@tammymccrady6278 congrats on fighting the snacks. It’s a battle, thats for sure.

@Katmary71 so far my favorite thing to grow is basil. I love it! Arugula is second and next is the unexpected watermelons that came out of the compost pile from the kitchen scraps.

Savory oats, It’s nice as a soup. I make it often.

@megnolia82 I hope your treatment has you back on your feet soon.

@DrewsAnna a pawdicure..how cute. I always tell my girls they’re going for spa day. My Gshepard loves it. She comes back all shiny and fluffed. You said Lumpia and my mouth watered, yum! 😂 I hope your back is better now.

CONGRATULATIONS to those who made the leader boards, maintained, lost and are hanging in here.

I’ve been MIA, my youngest has been sick, so I was busy trying to prepare for the worst. Thankfully, it’s only hit her and she’s on the mend.

I had my appointment with my surgeon today and I’ve now been moved to 1 year check up, instead of every 6 months. 6 years of recovery and today he felt I’m doing well enough to be let loose. I’m sure he won’t miss my notebook and a zillion questions. Now onto cardiology Tuesday.

I woke up with a decent loss today, so that was thrilling! I was stuck all week and a surprise today.

    No zeros

I’m doing something daily that makes me happy, laugh and learn something.

    Drinking my water

    Getting my steps in

    Started a journal

@Katmary71 - I love that you asked I like telling this story!!! 😁😁😁 it’s my initials… I was born Shauna Rhea Carpenter, a shared middle name of one of my cousins, pronounced Ray, my dad wasn’t in my life and my mom had been married to my step dad for years, so we always used his last name. When they had my little sister and brother together they were each given two middle names and I was jealous 😂 when I was 15 I had my last name legally changed to his and added my own 2nd middle name. Lyn because my best friends middle name was Jo Lynne and another girl I always loved to pieces had the middle name Lyn. I passed it on to my daughter and my niece is named after me just spelled different, Raelynn. Even with the recent divorce I didn’t want to take back my maiden name so I stayed Shauna Rhea Lyn Richards! You’re correct about the birth year 😉 I’m glad you got the approval to go to the hs during school hours and sorry you snapped at Bill. It had to happen at some point right!? Lol I hope y’all are enjoying your weekend together!

@micaroo4 - take the win. No matter what…you were the one who had to go through those few days to get there and if you don’t see that number again for a few weeks it doesn’t mean you won’t ever see it again!

@Cornanda - I got as far as shopping for material for my daughters curtains she wants but didn’t get around to actually making them yet. I’m doing about the same with tracking right now, trying to be more diligent with it.

@tammymccrady6278 - great weigh in and I agree with you! This group is the best!

@trooworld - I’m going to have to try that dance workout!!! I used to have a video that I used until it was worn out!!! Maybe I can find it online now 🤔 That’s my favorite way to exercise!

@Becoming_A_Butterfly - Don’t be discouraged, progress comes so slowly, be patient it will pay off in the end! I’m so happy hubby is stepping up to be your partner!! Hugs!!! You’ve got this!

@DrewsAnna - I’m so sorry about your back, that’s no fun!

@megnolia82 - great weigh in and update! I’m so happy you had a great day!

@laurelfit57 - I hope you get some rest, I’m sure next week you will rock that weigh in for sure!!

Last night my brother setup a family movie night at his house, we searched for all healthy snacks and I got so full I skipped dinner completely. We went walking pretty late 2.6 miles. Today I finally got that workout in with the nieces and then walked some more with my brother, he wanted to hit that 2 miles so bad and he did!!! Mom, brother, and I are seeing results from our healthy changes.

I’m prepping for a day trip to Arkansas with my hiking friend. There’s an exhibit at the museum she wants to see. I’m so freakin excited!!! Probably won’t get much sleep lol.

    Things I'm doing successfully:
    Intermittent fasting, 14 hours
Tracking food and staying in range
Early morning workout, either strength training or cardio on the bike or elliptical
Sleeping (or at least staying in the bed) 8 hours
    Meditation 10 minutes every morning
Stopping caffeine by 2:00pm (usually by noon)
Having some kind of active time outdoors (usually a walk, but today it might be just the shoveling)
    Journal every day

Things I'm working on doing better
Cutting down on Diet Coke to less than 3 bottles/day (please don't judge, I'm trying)
Drinking more water (replacing that diet coke with water)
    Stretching at least 5 minutes/day
Getting more servings of fruits/veggies daily (currently getting 4 to 6; aiming for 10)

Quick check in. I did have a great NSV last week:). My clothes are no longer tight, they are snug and I am able to fit in to all of my work out clothes again!
Last night was another non sleeping night (I really wish I could get my act together). I am here at the gym, I will do my spin class, go home take the food for a walk, have lunch and have an afternoon nap (I typically try really hard not to do that as it can mess with my nighttime sleeping), I seriously need to get caught up on some sleep today I seriously need to get caught up on some sleep today.
    Have a great day, everyone!

@Katmary71 – Yup! 49 years old and no gray hair yet! My dad and 2 of his sisters all had black hair well into their 60’s, so I’m hoping I’ll take after them, even though mine is dark brown. I’ve been making my oatmeal using Cinnamon Apple Spice tea from Celestial Seasonings. Just add a pink of a sweetner, if you need it. So yummy!
@lrjogger1 – When I was little, we had to go to a laundromat once a week. The coffee machine there had chicken broth and I used to love having that as my good-girl treat.
@trooworld – Those Skinnydipped treats look so yummy! I think I’m going to have to look for the Super Dark Sea Salt ones as their website lists those as vegan! Yay! Nice work on your Tonal – I wouldn’t consider 100K shabby at all – definitely not a ZERO!
@shaunarlr83 – Maybe I missed it along the way, but what type of crafting do you enjoy?
@DrewsAnna – I am so sorry about your back. Hope you feel better soon!
@megnolia82 – I’m so happy to hear you’re feeling better!

Oh my peeps! This weekend was a whirlwind again. Daughter #1 called me distraught again last Thursday night (she’s leaving her husband) so we made plans to have dinner on Friday. Daughter #2 and I went to eye appts on Friday, then met up with #1. Most of you know, but for those that don’t, daughter #2 is bipolar and pregnant, so can’t take her meds right now. #2 proceeded to have a horrible manic episode at the restaurant. It was the most embarrassing thing. If you have ever seen a 22 year old act like a toddler, just pray for the family. It’s not normal and we don’t need to be judged for their behavior. I had to have the waitress bring to-go boxes not even 5 minutes after she had brought our food. Dropped #1 off at her place. Proceeded to take #2 home, but she wouldn’t get out of my car. I finally talked her down. She’s decided to sign a Durable Healthcare POA so I can make appts for her and help find a new therapist (hers retired and she hadn’t found a new one yet). And I’m thankful for the message she sent me the next day…that she’s changed her mind on breastfeeding. She will bottle feed when she has her baby so she can get back on her meds as soon as possible.
Saturday I took my mom to go see my son’s new house and we spent the day there. Sunday consisted of church, then the final couple trips of moving things for #2. I’m finally done helping all my children move!
I was really scared to weigh in yesterday because I had so many restaurant trips and had eaten a lot over my allotted “bites” for the week (15!), but the week was filled with much more movement than usual, so that must’ve helped. Tiny loss, but at least it wasn’t a gain! I've been doing a great job of stopping eating when I am full. Overeating has always been an issue. I am refocused and ready for a new week.
    No Zero Days logging:
    1. Cook bean/grain: :)
    2. Weigh all food: B)
    3. Log all food: B)
    4. 30 minutes activity: :)
    5. Restaurants 2x: :s
    6. Stop eating when pleasantly full: B)

    Hey everyone!
I went back to work today for the first time in a month. It was not an easy day, but I got through. I think I stayed about 20 minutes past my threshold because I was feeling quite unwell by the time I drove home. I’ll have to be more strict with myself tomorrow and truly walk out the door when the work day is done.

The work day did me in so I didn’t attempt my reps and I didn’t do the wellness challenge which was a 35 minute cardio workout. I’m just not ready for that. But I got almost 7000 steps. Nowhere near my usual but mountains more than I’ve done in quite a few weeks.

    Should have gone to sleep
An hour ago so I’m going to try to fall asleep
    Right now!

    Good Morning everyone!

@megnolia82 congrats on getting back to work. I hope you find balance and regain your energy to help keep you going there.

@Katmary71 I sent a friend invite. How funny, a worm woman. I want to be that cool. I should pick up more gardening tasks from hubby and be the gardening gal. I don’t see a big gardening venture this year due to traveling. I also need to find some good ways to keep our youngest rescue doggy out of the raised beds. She likes to nap right on top of the greens. We put up polls with netting and she laughed at that. My rescues are the best but not garden friendly. My G shepherd bites the heads off the watering systems and makes herself a swimming pool. Thankfully, I can laugh it off because she’s such a big bear and deserves all the water fun.

Holidays and a birthday dinner is a challenge. I’m avoiding restaurants as much as possible. I hope you’re feeling great today.

@micaroo4 stay safe on those roads and around the trees.

@laurelfit57 congrats on getting back into your gym clothes. That she exciting. I hope you got that sleep you needed.

@vegan4lyfe2012 sending big hugs for your daughters. I wish them both the best. With all that you have going on, you’re doing well with you no zeros.

    @shaunarlr83 CONGRATULATIONS 🎉

If anyone would like an Extra Friend, please send me an invite. I think I need to start using my newsfeed, keep up with others, post some journal entries…I know the support helps a lot. Years ago I was on here, I found it helpful to keep
in touch with others. I definitely feel it helped me stay on track to losing.

    Random question

I woke up to a friend on my list. JulianaCrispo, who doesn’t sound familiar at all. I’ve only sent out one invite prior to seeing this.

I had friends on here years ago, but when I came back they were inactive for ages, so I removed them.

Anyone else experience this? I know I had to click a few clicks to invite Kat and Troo.

Hey everyone. I’ve been keeping up with y’all this week but just now getting the opportunity to post.

@shaunarlr83 - hooray for the weight loss!! You’re rocking it!

@laurelfit57 - Great non scale victory. It’s always a happy day when I feel comfortable in my clothes.

@vegan4lyfe2012 - great job with all your no-zero days. Proud of your daughter #2 making the good choices for her health and for her baby.

@micaroo4 - that storm sounds scary, glad you got your power back!

@Katmary71 - dang it! I also find it challenging when others want to go eat in restaurants that are tempting for me and hard to stay on track. But like you said “Back to it now!!” Sorry to hear your sleep hasn’t been the best. Hope it gets better for you.

@megnolia82 - glad you are feeling a little better and are able to get back to work. Don’t overdo it and take care of YOU!!

@trooworld - nice job getting in the workouts. I could probably use a reminder, like you use, however, I realize my classes, homework and work schedule take up most of my schedule.

With the school semester now in full swing I’m quickly finding it challenging to prioritize exercise. I’m not going to beat myself up though, as I need to be honest with myself in figuring out what’s realistic for exercising. The good thing is I have continued to track my food, stay under calories and drink my water. WIN!

Summary of no-zero days (Thursday - Monday)

Water: got in 6 glasses or more every day
    Tracking food: complete every day
    Under calories: everyday
    Vegetables: everyday
Exercise: only 1 time, however I’m also counting my 2 work days as exercise because I generally get between 15,000 - 18,000 steps working in the ER
    Journal: everyday

Glad to be part of this group! You all are making a difference in my life and in each others life!!
