I thought I would have a bigger loss since I haven't been eating much. Oh well. Poor Jonas got my stomach bug yesterday morning during a staff meeting.🤦♀️ I was sitting in the front row with him we I could tell he was about to puke. I picked him and ran, but we didn't make to the trash. He pukes all over me and himself.
Here's to a healthier March...in so many ways!!!6 -

So sorry for the gain guys.. this week I know I didn’t make the best choices.. but it’s still upsetting
I’m noticing a trend where I always gain the last week of the month! How annoying!4 -

Hi @jugar! I can’t weigh-in this week because my scale is packed away and we are moving this weekend. I should be ready to go next week in the March chat thread.3

Hi team,
Well, back to real life this week after 3 weeks in paradise (Costa Rica) - truly the best trip of my life. It was absolute bliss to be able to spend 3 solid weeks with my BFF @ashleycarole86.
When I weighed myself on Monday, I hadn't put my glasses on for the day and I swore the scale read "24..." I was shocked. I thought I'd gained close to 50 pounds while we were gone. I knew I ate more than usual and my clothes were feeling tighter, but this was too much. I stepped off the scale and got closer to the screen and realized it read 214 not 24?. Not great, but much better.
This morning I weighed myself again and I was down 4 pounds already to 210.8.
So, here's my wrigh-in for the week:
Username: Bowens1973
PW: N/A - Didn't weigh in over our holiday.
CW: 210.8
Should be fun to see how quickly I can break the 200's and get back on track to be in the 160s.
Have a great week all!

Good morning WaistAways!
PW: 176.8
CW: 175.0
It's been a long time since I've done a proper update, so I'll do that now! I've got my egg white and ham wrap and my coffee, let's do this.
Starting most recently, I've been practicing my splits almost-daily, and I'm starting to see progress, which is very exciting. I'm also seeing progress in dancing ability with video I took from recent routines and comparing them to the same routines months ago. All very exciting. And all this working out (at least 4 hours every week) has me feeling, I think the kids these days say, snatched. I can feel the muscles working as I move, even as I walk, like a panther or something. Great feeling.
The whole fam had a stomach bug last weekend, and so my weight dropped instantly because of that, and then I've been staying around there all week, which is honestly nice.
Because of the bug, I started this week on mostly carbs, not much fat or protein. That got me back to feeling 100%, but also, I found I had a lot more energy with the increase in carbs. Which makes sense from an academic perspective, that's what carbs do, but I'd forgotten about the magic mood and energy ability of carbs, haha.
So! I've decided this week to try to be a little more vegetarian, get my protein from not-meat a little more, to see how that makes me feel, and so my work food is going to be:
Pre-work coffee and 25g of a zucchini cake I made and froze a while back (I've found life is so much better with a little sweet thing with my coffee)
Breakfast: Casey Johnson's swoalts using barley instead of oatmeal, because I've got a lot of barley (pandemic prepping), and pescience cookies and cream protein powder
Lunch: Chickpea salad with za'atar (I've got some cabbage from the garden to use up, and lots of dried chickpeas from pandemic prepping, haha) and an apple
I think all of this, pre-dinner, ends up being somewhere around 800-850 calories, leaving me a good allowance for dinner and dessert cals.
Tag party time!
@bowens1973 extremely cute almost-sitcom like scenario, haha
@wishfuljune I hope the move goes well!
@DianaGetsFit512 I mean, higher end of the month weight means that you get a little whoosh beginning of the next month, I say.
@KellyBgetsfit oh no! I am the worst about that kind of thing, whenever someone's throwing up even in my general area I feel nauseous, I hope he's feeling better now.
@PlaneMonkey I SO feel you on commutes, meal preparing, and gym hours! Between my gym (half an hour away, so I always go for at least two hours at a time), the commute to/from, work, kid's activities, and making food as opposed to getting takeaway or fast food, I'm barely ever at home and relaxing anymore. Longer days at least feel better, haha, and I hope that you come to a place in your schedule where you feel more balanced.
@DD265 oooh, fruit tree grafting! That sounds like great fun.
@ashleycarole86 I really feel this about going back to work. I definitely appreciated, in 2020, when we were all at home, rolling out of bed and getting to work at 4am, and being done with work by noon. Nowadays, I get up at the same time, but leave for work at 0545 to start work at 0620, and don't get home until 3 or 4 in the afternoon. My whole day is gone, and then gym takes the rest of it 3 days a week. Ugh.
@jugar I'm going to try my best at five weeks in the green, although my weight loss is currently so slow that I might not make green with all the noise. I'm going to try!
@micki48 I find, when I increase activity, that the new muscle use causes me to retain water for a while after. So, just keep trucking. I hope your house can sell soon, so you can get to the fun part.
@BrownMargaret3021 Hi! One thing I find myself saying a lot is that "future me is going to thank me for this." So when I'm batch cooking when I really just want to be sitting down watching a show, I tell myself, "future me is going to love this food she doesn't have to make." "Future me is going to love having a clean floor tomorrow morning." Maybe you could take care of yourself as a gift to your future self?
I think that's all the time I've got for tags this morning, everyone, have a great Saturday!5 -
Friday weigh in (on Saturday again lol)
PW 209.1
CW 207.9
I am really confused about what is going on. I was up this week. One day at 211, then yesterday down to 209.8, so I waited a day to see if I could be green. Today 207.9. I got on THREE different times because I didn’t believe it. I am not logging 😕 and I don’t feel like I’m doing much different than when I was gaining, gaining, and gaining. 🤷🏻♀️
I’m not complaining. I will take these losses. My steps are good but intentional exercise is almost nonexistent. In fact, I laid down for a minute last night at 8:30 and ended up asleep for the night.
I have been trying to get more potassium like my dietitian suggested but find it difficult to get 4300 mg. (I think that’s what it was).@micki48 we were on the same wavelength this morning, I think! For once, I got my exercise in before noon, and you wrote to us while at work. Good move! I'm so glad your daughter and her OH are closing on a house, and all my wishes are with you for your son to find the job of his dreams and that you'll be able to sell your house soon. That kind of stress is rough, and certainly does not help with your resting heart rate. Keep checking off those little things that
you CAN do and slowly the list will shrink, I hope!
@jugar Thank you so much for this. I am so grateful to have had you all with me this last crazy year. You are a constant. ❤️
More houses to look at today that I probably can’t buy. We do it to see what’s out there. Soon. Soon things will move forward and I will be able to find my house and get settled.
@DD265 Your meals and gardening classes sound wonderful.
@PlaneMonkey and @ashleycarole86 So sorry to hear you feel your self care being crunched by job pressures. Hugs.
@LoraineGB You are doing fantastic. On a roll. Keep up the great work.
@MoonlitMuse Id be game. Need to know more about it.

Here's a hug from me to everyone being overwhelmed. Work, house purchases, unsettled stuff - all of it. Be sure to do ONE thing for tomorrow you. Today. Then be grateful to today's action tomorrow. It feels pretty good, even though it is really simple.6 -
@ jugar sorry have not posted for a few days but my husband surprised me on my birthday with a short holiday to Gdansk at a Hotel spa. I had a wonderful time and ate very well there and feel like I have lost some inches walking around so much there and swimming every day.

@zankash23 We live in the real world and sometimes its just not possible to do what we want to do. Hope things get better for you and you get more time to concentrate on yourself again.1

@eggfreak Do you find the fitbit helpful? My husband and a friend have been telling me to buy one and say that it really helps them stay active. I tend to get obsessive about things and worried that I would challenge myself too much if I bought one ..1

Happy Saturday with my new CW of 184.6
My clothes are a bit snug but my core feels stronger, especially when working with other older people who have let their muscles take unapproved holidays, like mine!
When I remember to engage my core before reaching for a spoon in the drawer, for example, it brings my spine into better alignment and I then move more intentionally. Every bit helps.
Good grief…it’s almost March already!
I’m trying to pare down some of the furniture and “stuff” in our apartment. I looked at suggestions online and laughed when the first idea recommended taking everything outside then bring in only the things you want. That could be dangerous on those days when I’m ready to give it all a “good coat o’ fah-ir (“fire”, for those of you who may need an interpreter).
Time to get some exercise so the tomorrow me will feel like a queen when getting up.
Hugs all around.

@micki48 Congratulations on your weight loss! I would not worry too much about the gain and loss. I am an ex-weight-watcher and was told once "if you eat less for a while the body thinks that you are in a famine and holds onto calories and stores it as fat - that means that sometimes you don't lose weight or even gain weight for a while .. if you continue to eat less the body eventually has to use the fat stores and you lose weight". Maybe thats what happened to you2

@conleywoods Am sorry to read that you are having such a hard time just now and hope you can get your health problems sorted out soon. I have been going through something similar with horrible stress at work and am off sick just now. My blood pressure too high, sleeping badly and have a work-related injury! Life sucks! I don't know how you are feeling just now but I am finding it really hard .. need to reduce stress and change my habits and do healthy things like drink less coffee .. and go to bed before midnight ..3
