Happy Monday! I have a busy week with conferences before and after school everyday.
Today's Zero
✔logged everything and came in under calories
✔ Did 15 minutes on the elliptical after work even though I was exhausted. I can't wait for the time change and evening walks7 -

Happy Monday and welcome everyone. Look forward to get to know you7 -
Sorry, I have been super busy last weekend. Missed my weigh in. Now, feeling like I am fighting off a cold. Itchy throat😒.
Steps:
Sun - 16531
Mon- 9616
Tues- 8164
Weds- 11230
Thurs- 8802
Fri- 7535
Sat- 10981
The cold rainy weather is making it difficult getting the activity in.
I stepped on my scale and I am a couple of pounds heavier than my last weigh in. Hoping it levels out by end of week.

As soon as I got home I hopped on the Peloton tonight while Brad made dinner. Then, I cleaned up while he rode. There was a bit of work in between as we had an after hours issue to deal with, but all in all in was a productive night.
It's bedtime now so I can do it again tomorrow! Hoping to follow a similar pattern if we can make it happen.7 -
My friend in AZ sent me a gift from Fortnum & Mason in the UK. She thought I would like some foods from home. Yes I would, thank you very much. But my oh my since they were delivered, they are all I can think about. I’ve disposed of the packaging, put the chocolates in the back of the fridge and the biscuits on the storage shelf in the pantry. The jams aren’t a binge food for me, I can be around jams without going nuts.
Friday me will be very happy that Monday me distributed the goodies around the house and out of sight. Now all I have to do is wrangle Tues, Wed and Thu me.

Hi, I'm Kristi and I live near Spokane Washington in the US. I'm 40, married, 3 kids and I work 4 days a week as an occupational therapist at a preschool center. I have 2 dogs and 2 guinea pigs. I have been really stuck with weight loss and have been doing some investigating. I recently had The Dutch hormone test done and found some interesting things that need work. I'm addressing my very high cortisol levels and I'm also not absorbing things like healthy fats, b vitamins and a few other things. Right now I'm not entirely focused on weight loss but trying to get these things in order for future weight loss. I am thinking I will not try to actively loose weight until my masters is done in June. @jugar let me know if you think I should go on support. I still want to weigh in just because I don't want to let everything go.
I'm making progress on my stress! I feel less stress but I'm just using food to cope. That's not what I want. My lumen shows very poor readings for my metabolism. One thing I have learned is after poor choices it takes a lot of days eating right before my body actually catches up. A few days of bad eating has more like a weeks worth of negative impact on my body. Stopping that right now.
I tried restorative yoga and really liked it! I liked it so much I sewed a yoga bolster this weekend. Then I sewed a matching cover with extra padding for my pilates reformer. I was really into sewing this weekend and made a blanket too. The guinea pigs are offended I didn't sew a single thing for them. Giving the piggies extra snuggles at night. Helps me relax and stay out of the kitchen. The piggies live in my workout room so I'm more likely to work out and watch them.

Can confirm that banana sandwich was dream-worthy. I'm going to have another one shortly I think as it's my hungry day. But I'll have a yoghurt alongside for protein.
@CarolAnnM2 I don't know what the dream meant, but I do really love a banana sandwich - they were a staple of my diet growing up. I've had them a lot less recently as my dietician feels they aren't well balanced, so maybe it was just a craving.
@ashleycarole86 you are an inspiration! Even with the work stress and a hectic life, you make time for the Peloton.
@conleywoods taking a bit of a break from trying to lose weight was really helpful for me. I'm not saying weight loss is now easy, but I feel less pressure in a healthy way. I hope you get things sorted.
I've been to see my personal trainer this morning and we worked on deep squats with kettlebells (increasing strength at the bottom of the squat range) and muscle snatches, which is taking the bar from mid-shin (or ground, if it had full size plates on) to overhead using arms/shoulders/back in a slow and controlled way; so strength at the top of the range of movement. We got up to 25kg then did some reps at that weight. It was a comfortable challenge for what we were doing today and I wouldn't have managed as many reps if we'd increased the weight further.
The aim for today is to stick within the guidelines from my dietician as best I can - I did well on that yesterday. I may not do any more exercise as my legs are already aching from this morning, but we'll see. We're having the slow cooked pork and sweet potato stew for tea which I started off before work. It has carrots and onions in the recipe but I thought it needed more veg so I rummaged around in the fridge and threw in some sugar snap peas too - unfortunately the green beans were past it! I got paid today so I will update the budget and do some other admin this evening, and we were also planning a trip to IKEA for a new lightbulb. It will never just be a lightbulb.7 -
So it's my second month in team WA, I was really proud to have every week in the green during February and am hoping for a repeat performance!
As of a couple of weeks ago, I have been strength training 5 days a week, as well as really trying to keep my steps up. Some days I'm totally exhausted, some days totally energised, so I guess I'm just getting used to the new normal. I don't know if strength training is going to temporarily slow down my weight loss through water retention but I need to make sure I don't get discouraged if it does.
Had a bit of a bummer of a day yesterday as I found out I didn't get the job I had interviewed for. It was a straight forward shelf stacking job but I was really hoping to get it as I want some financial independence and this role would have kept me fit, given me a chance to meet people, and be flexible around my lifestyle. But they didn't want me, wah wah. Trying not to beat myself up over it, it just wasn't meant to be.
I'll be posting my weight on Thursdays as it helps keep me focused through the week.7 -
Good morning everyone! Checking in to say I hope you all have a great day, I've read all your posts but don't have time to tag!7
-
@39flavours
bummer about the job
I get what you mean about excitement over a job that keeps you fit
I sit at a desk 8.5 hours a day and as of late I've thought i should have trained in nursing or something active.
Hope the job that IS meant to be comes around for you!
@DD265
Yes, IKEA and Costco are both like that.. even if you're just going in for one thing you can dare bet there will be more coming out!6 -
@DD265 @ashleycarole86 I have challenged myself a few times and won by entering both a Costco and IKEA and actually coming back out with only the one item I went in for in less than 15 minutes. It's rare and definitely less fun. 😉
Hi team, I'm Courtney, 42 a government office worker in Canada. I've been losing and regaining the same 40lbs my whole adult life. I've managed to maintain the latest loss for over a year now but I would like to lose the final 10-15 to make movement easier and just feel better about myself. I've surrounded myself with athletic women from my team sports and I really see the long term health benefits through their examples of exercise and good food choices. It still leaves room for the occasional drink out with the girls which can be just as therapeutic as a good workout.
I'm in a very negative place right now emotionally with my job, financial and family stress so I'm hoping to stay focused on cleaner eating and portion sizes to lessen my feelings of being overwhelmed and not in control. This team is key for me to know there are others out there with similar stories. Thank you team!!8 -

I *love* that image of wrangling your future self on those days! I had a flash of strong-arming myself (similar to my sister's "Bullying-Babe" reminder photo...I know she's got a real name but darned if I can recall it right now. Perhaps @jugar will tell us!)...I felt obligated to eat a whole sleeve of Girl Scout cookies so future me wouldn't have to suffer them sitting there yelling for attention. I drank a cup of tisane and ate 2 individual cookies (which is actually 1/2 of a serving) instead and went onto a zoom meeting for 45 minutes. Ha! Quite effective strategy, actually. I don't *have* to dismiss the month with overeating sweets. I can eat a reasonable supper with a small dessert (like, the other 2 cookies, perhaps?). I'm going to welcome March in like a lamb not a lion and see how Wednesday me likes it.
I, too enjoy hiding things from "today me", although when future me remembers them, it's usually a crazed fest of overeating. Time for a new plan! The insanity of repeating that behavior expecting slimming results is, as they say, INSANE!6 -
Future self wrangling!! What a great concept. It is some difficult sport, for sure (when's the World Cup?). Then there's future self wooing, future self a** kicking, future self wheedling... They're nothing but trouble, those future selves! I think I'd be individually wrapping stuff in a very fussy way and then putting them into the freezer @LoraineGB - those look seriously scary. Good job on hiding them!
Today self did a good one for Wednesday self - I had a late afternoon appointment and hit the grocery afterwards. I needed things from my fave bulk store, and right next door is a place that carries absolutely fabulous gluten-free almond cookies. I bought some (for the tall guy, y'know). I was really hungry and going to make supper the minute I got home. I bravely put the bag with the cookies in the back seat so that I would not dive into them on the way home. I still have not had one! I did have a handful of pecans and raisins for dessert and tomorrow I'll leave room in the plan for one of those gorgeous cookies. I like the way the same cookie can be avoided today (as a gift to tomorrow self), and then can be eaten tomorrow (as a gift to tomorrow self). Go tomorrow self!
@PlaneMonkey I am so sorry you are feeling overwhelmed and negative about things. When I read you describing yourself as a "government office worker" I knew already that you were feeling bad. It is great to see you reaching towards your fellow athletes and inspiring friends - a community like that can make all the difference when life gets discouraging. Hang onto them! And us!
@EvMakesChanges the "born to nag" lady is Gert Boyle. She was the CEO of Columbia Sportswear and ran a campaign called "One Tough Mother" - she and her tattoo were on all the ads. She had quite an amazing life (died at 95 in 2019). One of my heroes! My kids want me to get that tattoo...7 -
