I have a mother that is 86 and in-laws in there late 80's also that I help with and take to Dr appts. They keep me busy! I was on the March challenge and enjoyed it very much. I didn't reach my step goal alot of the time because of just sitting with my mother she had her knee cap removed from a fall. Now she is doing better I don't have to be with her as much. I feel the challenge helped me but my weight didn't change much. I yoyo back and forth with the same 3 lbs the month of March, hopefully April will show more weight loss. I am excited for Spring. I have several large flower beds that I keep up. Put me down for 5000 steps for now and hopefully when the weather gets better I can walk outside more and up my steps to 10,000, for right now baby steps.
I am glad you stuck around even though you didn’t have much of a weight change. So many give up so you did well. I find the fact that I stay in this group even if I am stalled or I have gained it has helped me from gaining all my weight back. Here’s to a great April.MSWarrior7088 wrote: »Hello Team,
My name is Joyce. I'm married (soon to be 28 years this month) to a wonderful man. I suffer from multiple sclerosis and battled it for almost 18 years. I'm on disability because I loss the use of my right side...my right hand is useless so I became left handed. I walk with a horrible limp and use a cane.
I have three kids, Sarah is my oldest and is finishing her last semester in Law School... hooray 🤣, Jake is my middle child and works for CAT as a mechanic on those huge pieces of equipment. He has a serious girlfriend and I think very soon he will pop the question ⁉️ My youngest son, Zach will be graduating in May of this year...he has been doing high school and college classes.... hopefully he will graduate from both 🙏! He is going to college in the fall and we will be EMPTY NESTERS!!! YAY 🎉🎉
I am on a new journey this past month with fasting. I use to IF but I read a mind blowing book called Fast Like a Girl!!! I have already seen some positive results and can't wait to continue my fasting journey. My goal to heal my body and the damage the MS has caused. I eat low carb and try to stay under calories.
I do 5000 steps or more a day to keep moving. They are not the prettiest steps but I'm still walking and not in a wheelchair!!
We plan to go camping a lot with our two dogs. My husband is on this fasting journey with me begrudgingly...lol
He is going to give a month and he better see results...lol
Glad to meet all of you and good luck on your own journeys!!!
Please add me if you want... always looking for like-minded people to share the ups and downs 😊
Joyce, you are an inspiration. The way you are battling this illness and continue to work on your mobility encourages me to try harder. You are a rock star.
Thanks so Linda 🧡1 -

Hello everyone and welcome new members.
Last week I followed a high protein diet, that helped me to shed some pounds. It was another stressful week too, so I don't know how much it interfered with my metabolism.
I wish a good week for everyone.
Wow what a great loss!4 -

Good Morning Downsizers!
I used to have this all or nothing mindset. If I ate a package of cookies on Tuesday the whole week was blown and I’d continue to eat all I could until starting fresh again on Monday. Now each morning I set the intention to do my best. My best isn’t necessarily perfection but knowing I’m doing my best to make good choices throughout the day. It’s also okay to have a cookie or two. They aren’t evil and can be worked into your plan. The longer I’m on this journey I’m finding it’s much more mental for me. Hope you all have an amazing week!

Hello Downsizers, my name is Jim (54) and live in St. Louis, Missouri with my wife Susan and our son who's a high school junior. We have another son in college and two adult daughters. We're big travelers and have taken the kids to all 50 states and DC to visit the capitals and National Parks (45+) along with a few Canadian provinces and Caribbean islands. I've travelled a lot for work - many times overseas but now work for a company where I do almost no travel.
I've been overweight for probably 20 years as I have a very demanding job and being a workaholic, I've prioritized my career over my health. I eat relatively healthy but just don't exercise enough. Anyway, last year I had dropped to 205 lbs but regained most of it back with the cold weather and work sapping my desire to work out - I know it's holding me back and now that Spring is around the corner, the weather is getting nicer and I'll look forward to more walking outside, biking, etc.
I'm glad to be a part of this team and am looking forward to sharing in our collective success (1 week at a time).5 -

It’s beer awhile since I got this many steps on a non pool day. I did some mini walks. It was also laundry day so I put one piece of clothes away at a time and took a lap around the apartment. It adds up. My back and leg are really complaining today so I will take it easy.
Have a great Monday.

I use to do that very same thing!!! I would start on Monday and if I screwed up I would then the week would be blown.
I'm learning... definitely a mindset!!!
Best of luck on your journey 🧡2 -

What's up squad? Happy Monday!
Super inspirational reading through everyones posts. Even when yall have a "low day" with your steps, its still remarkable to me. I am not really mobile right now, but feel like that is going to change as I continue with physical therapy and shed some lbs.. I currently can make it from one room to another, so I have chairs strategically placed in each room.
That said, I would like to start keeping track of my steps, but am not sure what to buy. Is anyone familiar with a myfitnesspal compatible tracker that has an option to purchase larger wrist bands? From what I have read fitbit no longer makes xl bands.1
