HOW IT ALL WORKS: The June challenge runs for 4 weeks, from June 4 - July 1. F2F months always start on a Sunday and end on a Saturday, so adjust your calendars!
Everyone weighs in weekly on their chosen day right here in the team chat thread. At the end of each week, the tallies are done to determine the team and individuals with the most weight lost. The best losers are announced with full fanfare every Sunday. The team competition is all in good spirits - may the most losing win!
We also celebrate those small, steady losses. If you lose, however small an amount, you are in the green! At the end of the month, we celebrate everyone who lost at least a bit every week. You are heading steadily towards your goal even if you aren't at the top of the weight loss leaderboard.
To make your weigh-in easy to find for your team Captains, please put it right at the top of a message, and use this format:
Weigh In Day:
PW (Previous Weight):
CW (Current Weight):
If you miss two weigh-ins in a row without asking for a break, you will be dropped from the team, so be sure to inform your team captain if you are traveling, sick, or just need some time off. If you want a break, you can be excused for a week or two, or are moved to the Support Team for as long as you need to. You still participate in the discussions, you can weigh in if you want to, but it will not count in the weekly tally. Don't worry! You can always come back even if you get dropped.
Once you reach your goal weight, you join the Goal Zone. You continue to weigh in every week. If you have 2 weeks above your self-defined goal zone, you go back to the regular team to lose that amount before it builds up. You will have a chance to hone those maintenance skills and stick with your team.
In addition to your own team, there are weekly F2F Full Group CHALLENGES. You can do all or none - it's up to you. Participating adds a lot to your success, so we hope to see you there often! These can involve anything fitness, health, or nutrition - and they’ll get you moving, thinking, and learning about this journey. Check the Announcements section for full group challenges.
Let’s show our fellow challengers some F2F love! Introduce yourselves right away, and let the new month begin!!

Welcome old and new friends! I'm Kathy and I'm the Mission Slimpossibles team motivator, the incredible @trooworld and @broncobuddee are our amazing team captains. This month we're working toward one goal for the 4th of July challenge, have a No Zero Days challenge going for the year, and doing our best to reach our personal goals. Don't forget there's Fat2Fit challenges too, so
mehow the amazing @jessicakrall8 manages to come up challenges every week for us to participate in.
I'm 51 and live in the Sacramento area in CA with my two cats Jasper and Asher. I've been on this team for going on 4.5 years now and love the family we have here and the support we can give each other. Having felt alone for a long time due to chronic pain issues being in this group sharing and on MFP has helped me grow tremendously and let me know I'm not the only one going through certain things. Obviously we're all trying to improve our health but we're at different places plus have more than just health in common and a have desire to be our best selves and support others doing the same.
I'm still figuring out what I'm able to do with my health challenges but I'm 75lbs down from my highest and eat low-moderate carb as I have my diabetes in remission with diet and exercise. I do chair workouts, strength training, and stretching plus gardening. I volunteer at the food bank farm and greenhouse then have my own garden. I do some part-time work online and am on the board of a local charity and my HOA and love reading, watching movies, and cooking.
Let's have a great June!3 -
@AmbersWay Thank you and you’re welcome! I’m glad to hear the scale is budging, yay! Gentle hugs and congratulations on your son’s award, he sounds like he’s amazing and anyone would be lucky to have him for his/her doctor. You’ve obviously been through hell, I’m sure it hasn’t been easy on your family as well but it does sound like a silver lining that he’ll be such a great doctor because of it.
@Cornanda Way to go on tracking, staying under calories, and adding back exercise, sounds to me you’re doing better than you thought! Yay for two days under, woot woot!
@Bemybestby60 If only it was as easy to lose it as it is to gain it! I’m an emotional eater too, honestly even though I’m a lot more aware of triggers it does make me feel better sometimes. Usually I feel bad the next day but there are times where I really needed it. Wow what a beautiful lake!
@trooworld Woot woot so glad you got to hang out! I love you still tracking your food despite eating “goodies”, way to go! Great job on the loss, tracking is paying off!
@tfelts147 Way to go, you’re doing great!
@laurelfit57 Oh no, pain and no sleep really stinks! Does anything help the pain? Maybe Epsom salt soaks or something topical could help it. Time for an awesome June, you got this!
@FushiaKat I like your challenge, a little sun and Vitamin D helps so much but when you’re laying in bed or in the couch you don’t always want to do it so I like it being a challenge.
@vegan4lyfe2012 I hope Byron is here sooner than later but he’ll definitely be an awesome Aquarius!
@DrewsAnna Remember how strong you are, let’s turn this around now, you got this! New month to shine! Oh my goodness your cat had kittens? What an adorable scene!
@sleepygirl79 You survived the birthdays, woot woot! I hope you’re able to shake that cold soon, I’d imagine if it’s humid there the combo of those with running would be awful. You’re still the cool mom!
@Micaroo4 Great job on the 4th of July challenge!
@txcritter69 Hi my friend! Happy early anniversary to you! Reboot time sounds perfect, I hope you have the best time ever.
@ddainiak Welcome, glad it’s straightened out!
Hi team, not much to report, did strength training and stretching plus a little time at the greenhouse thinning the seedlings and picking out tomato plants to take to the garden club tomorrow. Been resting as I’m not feeling too good. Tomorrow’s the meeting then my nephew’s piano recital then we’ll probably go for ice cream. Have a great weekend everyone!
No Zero Days
- Under and healthy food
- Good water/tea
- Arm strength, stretching, greenhouse/garden

Hi MS.... You have another new joining your wonderful team for June ... Please welcome @mkksemail4
-
@mkksemail welcome to the group 👋🏻
@Katmary71 I hope you’re feeling better. Piano recital sounds like so much fun. Thanks for the kind words. I truly hope everything I’m going through helps him. I’m now sharing pages I find on FB of those who share their stories of caretakers for a family member. I want him to see both sides for different illnesses. I really want him to have an understanding and compassion for family members who come in and have a million inquiries. They live these diagnoses also. Ok off from my mom rambling. I hope you have a beautiful day!

Re Introduction
I’m a mother of 3, teen and 2 adults. Married for almost 30 years, I may have said 30 last year, if I did oops. 😂 I’m 18 though and holding strong. We have 3 rescue dogs who are the best, a German Shepard, Saluki and Canaan. They’re my girls! Ive been living the expat life abroad (although I’m from the midwest) for quite some time. I have Hungarian/Belgian roots through my dad and quite the mix from my mom (I’ll come back with that European list and a %age of blackfoot). I studied CIS and have no interest in it. I thought over the years and have definitely retired now, that should be obvious by the mess of my posts 😂😩.
I’m 43.3lbs down from my highest, 22 of those lbs since joining this group. I appreciate the accountability, challenges and support that I have received here. Thank you all.
I don’t follow a particular diet, been there done that and failed repeatedly. Now I have cut my breads, pastas and most dessert foods. I try to drink at least 2 ltr of water. I work on 10k steps a day, a half hour of cycling and a session strength training with some stretching daily. If I mess up or have lazy times, I just focus on getting back on track, even if it’s slow. I’m losing slowly (started here Dec 20 ish) and I’m at peace for a first (most days).
Joining the steps challenges/exercise have been really helpful.
July 4th goal is to drink more and log it.
Updated No Zeros
-self care (taking time for myself)
-back to working out (after being sick)
Need to work on some more.

Introduction:
I am 67 years old, I live in New Hampshire with my partner Rich and my cat Earl. I work as a bookkeeper in a plastics factory 3 days a week. My highest weight was 220 pounds; I'm now maintaining at my goal weight of 130. My goal weight range is 127-133. Currently I am slightly under the low end of my goal range, so I'm trying to gain a bit without setting off a runaway train of gain. It's a delicate balance. I originally achieved my goal weight in 2003, and there have been a lot of ups and downs, but I've been successfully maintaining within my stated range (or lower) since 2019. I walk every day as my main exercise, and I also bicycle outdoors in season and in nice weather, and for those not so nice days and winter, I have a stationary bike and an elliptical. I really don't like to do strength training, so that's my focus for the July 4th challenge. I also don't do much stretching; I'll save that challenge for another time.

Weigh In Day: Saturday
PW (Previous Weight): 126.2
CW (Current Weight): 125.6
I have a loss this week because I was doing some fasting. The fasting was not for the purpose of weight loss, but to reduce some inflammation.
I'm having a lot of problems lately with arthritis and tendonitis in my feet and ankles, so my goal for June is to do whatever I can to reduce that pain and maintain my mobility.

First question for a newbie - what are No Zero days?
Weigh in Day: Wednesday
Starting Weight - 194.2
Hi I'm Darlene, 62, married, one adult daughter (29). We have one rescue pup, Monty - who you will probably hear alot about. My walking partner and love of our household. Hubby returned to work in January which left me a lot of alone and downtime, so decided that it would be a great time for me to focus on me. Down 33 pounds since January. Started my journey my announcing on my facebook page that I would be completing the Airline Trail - a linear railtrail in my backyard. Since I announced it, I couldn't not do it. I did a little at a time, completing the 62 mile in-and-out trail in February. Also started a year long goal to track 2,023 fitbit miles in 2023. I need structure in my life to keep accountable and on track, and found the challenges on MFP; which lead me to here. Hoping it keeps me on track.
I am just a calorie counter, no particular diet plan. My goal is average a pound a week weight loss. I exercise daily, getting about 16,000 steps (reaching that fitbit mile goal). I allow myself to use about 1/2 of the calories gained by exercise in my calorie goal.
My hobbies include reading, knitting, gardening, cooking, and boating. I am currently teaching myself how to crochet. I am on a trivia team with my sister and her hubby. We get together every other week for dinner and trivia - lots of laughs - not very good. My sisters and I also go to Bingo every Monday with my 85 year old Mom and 92 year old Aunt.
My June Goals:
Lose 4 pounds (hope to get in the 180s)
Track 175 miles on Fitbit
Drink 48 oz of clear water daily
Try a new recipe every week

Houston we have a problem!!!9 -
Good Morning!
Welcome to all the new folks! This is an amazing group of people.
I'm Sandy from Copperas Cove, Tx. I am a mom of 2 humans and 2 furbabies. A Grandma of 5 grandsons. I am married to my husband 27 yrs this month.
I have been struggling for 10 yrs trying to lose the weight (40 lbs) that I gained when I had to quit smoking. I started at 186 and lost roughly 16 lbs. The rest has been impossible to lose which I call the roller coaster. This month I really has no plan as what measures I plan to take except learning to except me for who I am.
This up coming week we are going out of town but when I return I want to focus on going to bed at 10pm and getting up a 5am. Our summer is fast approaching and morning walks will have to be earlier in the morning.
I am not going to focuse on losing weight so much, I want to focus on strength training. I will do my measurements again and with toning I am hoping to lose inches as opposed to weight.
I do want to continue to change my eating habbits and drink more water. I am up to over 60 oz a day. That is a lot for me.😂
My hobbies include crafting, playing in my garden, spending time with my Diesel and long rides down the back roads in either our 99 Trans Am or 13 Camaro.
I hope everyone has a wonderful month of June.3 -
Hello, and wow, some superstars on this team! WTG katmary, ambersway, and micaroo, on your weight losses!
And hello! to ddianiak (who directed me to this challenge, from the main challenge forum 🙋♀️), and ty! for the No Zero Days and Three You'd explanation, trooworld! Txcritter, congrats on your accomplishments! I think I need to add strength training, too.
Hello all 🙋♀️, I'm MaryK/MK, from Maine (well originally from NY, with a stopover in Boston, but have been here in Maine for 29 yrs). I've been on a Fitbit step goal streak (10k/day) for over 17 mos now. I started on Fitbit in July '31 - took about 18 mos to lose 30 lbs (half of my 60 lbs goal), then about 3 mos this fall and winter to gain it all back, plus another ~5 lbs.
Sigh.
Starting again! I haven't broken my steps goal streak, but stopped paying attention to what I was eating (obvs), so I've recommitted to food logging. I did it daily for almost 6 mos, when I first started Fitbit. I struggled to pick the habit back up after letting it go - I did a couple weeks a few times, here and there, but couldn't maintain the habit again, for whatever reason.
I signed up for MyFitnessPal awhile ago, bc I'd heard the food logging tools here were superior to Fitbit's (they totally are!), but still ... I wasn't doing it. So I signed up for MFP premium - figured if I paid for it, I'd do it.
Heh. So yea ... so far, so good - been logging daily since May 1.
Haven't really lost anything (well, I lost almost 5 lbs the first 10 days or so, but then I went out of town for 3 wks (mmmmmm NY pizza!), and gained back a few of those. I got home Thursday morning. I kept logging the whole time, and yea, there's a friggin good reason why I didn't continue losing weight!!
So easy for good habits to slip away, little by little, without really noticing the cumulative impact. I think I came in under my calorie goal on only about 30-40% of the days, in May. Maybe fewer!
Oh yes, demographic biographical details - 56f, married 33 yrs,1 daughter 32, currently 3 rescue cats - fat Ralphie, about 8 yo (who isn't so fat any more - was 22 lbs when my daughter rescued him, and deposited him with us bc her fur pack didn't think they wanted another furbrother lol), and two formerly feral brothers, about 2 yo, also rescued by daughter and deposited here, who are highly entertaining and social, but still also skittish and cautious.
Not currently employed - we sold husband's 7-Eleven franchise in April '21 - but starting to think about beginning to look for a job. We'll see how it goes - quite nervous about that endeavor!
Cheers!
- mk(Maine)

Hello everyone!
I've been here twice prior and love the people on this team: very kind and fun.
I'm married to a wonderful man and have a rescue dog who we spoil. I'm trying to keep consistent with my diet. If I don't food journal I tend to overeat. I've put back the weight I lost last time. Right now, I weigh 142 pounds which is too heavy for my frame.
Hope to get down to 135 lbs, eat heathy and keep the weight off.
My dream weight is 125 lbs, I don't think that's realistic but you never know!5 -
July 4th challenge: today I did a full strength training workout.
It's raining again today. I plan on getting a walk, but it probably won't be my usual 5 miles. I'll try to get 30 minutes at least.
We had temps in the 90s for a few days, but now it's down in the 40s. Yesterday it hovered right around 50 all day. I woke up cold at 1:30am and turned on the heat in the house, just enough to drive the chill out.

Good Morning folks!
Welcome to all the newcomers, this is an amazing group of people!
CONGRATULATIONS to all that lost weigth this week.
Thank you @Katmary71 and @trooworld
Spent all week cleaning house and get things ready for our little run away this week. I am ready to leave today! Just a few things left to pack.
Even though we are road tripping over the next 4 days, I plan to stay focused on eating healthy. We bought snack and drinks to take with us, so stopping for gas won't be a junk food run (just a restroom run).😂 I will checking as I can.
I hope everyone has a great day!

Raining ..... Day 2.5 🌧️☔, 49°F / 9°C
Oh my, the heat on in June, mica! Raining here too
.. oh, wait! You're the NH gal, right? *waves to you from Maine*. Yea, the temp swing this week has been a trip. I just got back in townn Thu am, in time for the late July temps, then boom! season switch on Fri night, rolled in with the t-storms.
And you are just headed out of town, txcritter. Nice job planning! Shoot, I wasn't ready to leave on my road trip until 3 hrs after planned departure time 😴.
trooworld, how amazing you have a friend of 47 yrs! Good job resolving silly fight! But isn't it only those people that you know for that long that you even have silly fights with? 🥰 Ahhh, ty! on steps streak! Yes, I'm very proud of that ☺️.
I snapped the sweetest pic of the formerly feral bonded pair of brother kitties this am, will come back on chrome site to add it in 🐈🐈

Good morning all. Yesterday was a nice day, took a walk with Hubby and Monty, then stopped at a local hamburger stand for lunch (nice that they allow dogs). Came back home, worked on the garden a little, then caught up on Blacklist and a cookout in the evening. It was super cool in Connecticut too; the same today.
Staking the tomatoes this morning, then out for a short boat ride this afternoon. Also cool today, will need to wear a sweatshirt!
Here's Monty, my love.!

So cute, dd! And ahhhh ... lovely weekend! ☺️0

Well, here's a headline!
Maine Could See a Month’s Worth of Rain Over the Next Few Days
Joey
Published: June 2, 2023
(snip ... )
Shared on Twitter by Mike Haggett, a pair of forecast models are promising a harsh few days of the New England region. After a pair of lethally hot days, Maine will settle in to a weekend that will feature plenty of rain, including substantial downpours in some areas.
What the forecast models are calling for after that initial rain burst is a potential nor'easter. Spring and summer nor'easters are the same as winter nor'easters, minus the snowfall. If the storm develops as the models suggest, it could dump a ton of rain across the majority of Maine, leading to a litany of problems.
