I'm at hour 34 of my 36 hour fast.... this may be be something I try to do every other week!
I had a couple moments last night that I felt the hunger but nothing too bad. I'm feeling pretty good this morning!8 -
@vegan4lyfe2012 - Yes, I started the fast Tuesday night so it will include sleep through Tuesday and Wednesday night and ate nothing Wednesday....I will be eating at ~11am today.
I almost gave up on it yesterday because my daughter called and invited me to Mexican with her and my grandson.... but I opted out of dinner....5 -

@trooworld LOL I’m glad I caught the joke, love that about going with a Dorito in your mouth! Is there somewhere pretty you could walk to and enjoy while you eat or is the time too short? If you could not eat in the building maybe that would help for now? Just an idea.

@ddainiak LOL yep, in winter at the doctor’s with boots and a jacket I can expect an extra 5lbs but last time I was weighed I was in shorts and flip flops, I’m guessing even with big feet my flip flops don’t weight 5lbs.
Hi everyone, love the fun atmosphere here today! I went out for ice cream last night (just got one scoop which is basically two of caramel praline which is yummy) and when my friend started eating the fries she was going to take home I had to leave because they smelled and looked too good to resist for long. Did PT stretches and exercises this morning then I met a different friend I’ve been friends with for over 40 years for lunch for fish and chips and my stomach was real queasy I’m guessing from my anti-inflammatory but the food was good. Got my shopping done and have been getting stuff done around the house but mostly relaxing. Tomorrow I’m helping with seeding at the greenhouse then we’re taking a bunch of seedlings from the greenhouse to the farm so I cleaned out my car and got my walker out of the trunk. I won’t be able to lift the trays but am glad I can help out. My neighbor’s coming to dinner tomorrow so I have a quick store stop after the farm and may not be on tomorrow. Have a great Friday and Saturday if I don’t get on tomorrow!

Just checking in
Today I got outside for an hour in the cactus garden weeding and watering. It felt good. The bracelet is pretty. It's dog bones and paw prints, I'm pretending the bones are cat treats. I bought the bracelet from Zales.
My contest room that won first place was a huge green house, with lots of waterfalls, orange trees, grass and a lawn mower ride. There is a caretaker's house in the back which is hard to see. I didn't have any idea's this year. The prizes for First Place are a gold necklace with a garden them design, it will be a surprise, A gold trophy plus a participation trophy, 2 shirts with the surprise garden theme on them, a new room and to pins. Plus, bragging rights. This Saturday they will open all the contest rooms to for everyone to look if they choose too. This makes my 28th first place win in a row. I don't know of anybody else who can say that. We have 4 contests a year. Garden, Sandcastle, Halloween and Christmas.
I tried to do IF but the longest I can go is from 10pm at night till 2pm the next afternoon or I just run out of energy. Getting a really good night's sleep has the some of the same benefits as IF. Everybody's body is different, you just have to find what works for you, something that you can do for the rest of your life. Somebody here said that you are in the driver's seat just keep your hands on the wheel.
I'm remembering to eat pickles and radishes in between my regular meals when I get hungry. I just cleaned out the kitchen cabinets and threw away all of the stuff that I stopped eating or that was expired.

Sometimes, I think about the option of going back to work and thankfully reality smacks me and I stay home. I’ve had 2 jobs that I truly enjoyed in my life and neither are an option nowadays. I hope things are looking up. Your new plan sounds great.
@ddainiak, that pic is so funny! I take my watch off when I do weigh in. I might even brush my hair and check for a loose eyelash to get rid of. 😂 Possibly exhale 😮💨 real hard.

I’m a bit slow to get posts up. I’m trying to get my house “closed up” for the summer. I have 6 days to get er done. Then off I go to my happy place. I can’t wait to spend my summer outdoors, feeling nature and enjoy it to the fullest.
My meals have been crazy, cleaning out the fridge and living off sandwiches and easy things this week. I hope my WI isn’t a disaster but I am hopeful once I get settled I will be on the move and eating better.

Work is very busy right now, home is a little different with a kid back from school from the other coast (making noise at odd hours), and SO MUCH laundry 😂. Luckily it’s just time for a long weekend with not so bad weather !!!

So freaking excited! As far as inspiration goes, I’m not sure yet. After having 3 children and a span of 30 years since that picture, I don’t think I can ever get back into a size 6. But it IS fun seeing the first car I ever bought

Hunter and I had a serious conversation about weight loss as I need to lose 45 lbs and she has about 30 to lose from baby weight. We are going to be accountability partners. She suggested we write down things in a journal throughout the week – both good and bad – and then when we see each other on Sundays we can go over our journals and encourage each other and brainstorm ideas when we’re having difficulties with something. I love my child. But I know my child. We’ll see how long this lasts…
In the meantime, both Wednesday and Thursday I did a fantastic job of staying under calories and getting in my step goal. I’m going to take my diary on here off private for some added accountability as I transition away from faux meats and cheezes and into more whole foods. Crack the whip on me, guys!
P.S. Sophie & Byron got to meet each other yesterday!

Hey everyone!
I was feeling tired and achy and snacky - so I decided to go to bed (it’s 9:30). I know I would normally go downstairs and grab a snack. They gave me an epiphany …. I don’t recognize any of my different feelings. I basically interpret everything as hunger or a need to eat. Tired, sad, stressed, angry, thirsty, bored… I feel all those things as hunger. I need to stop and really figure out what it is I’m feeling, then work on ways to address those feelings that don’t involve food. Separating true hunger from all the things I know not to be hunger is going to be a big test.

When I first joined MFP I read that we should- Drink when we feel hunger first, then drink some more.
- Weigh but use the scale as a tool, separate emotions from the scale.
- Measure, inches lost are better than pounds.
- Reward Non-Scale Victories
- Don't wait to buy a few new clothes during your journey. Look good at all your weights.
- Maintain accountability.
- Rid the house of junk food if you are able to do so.
- Even small changes are big changes in the long run, don't discount them.
- Find alternate foods. I now use Salsa for salad dressing.
- If you get off track, get back on and don't give up.
- This a lifestyle change, not a diet.
- Find what works for you and keep doing it.
- Every calorie counts.
These are just a few of the things I heard repeated over and over. I adopted a lot of them. And I had to stare my demons in the face and stop rewarding myself with food. Cookies were the hardest thing for me. I loved cookies. Now I can have them in the house and not eat them for months. I had to have a long chat with myself, which I did talking to myself out loud while doing laundry. I can imagine a therapist would charge lots of money for that advice.

@AmbersWay It was an interesting video, it was how to use it for beauty purposes, I think after being 75lbs more and in my 50s it would take more than micro current to lift things on me! Your summer sounds perfect.

honestly haven’t tried seeds in pods that didn’t come with said seeds, I need to give that a go! I can’t plant lettuce until fall so I think I’ll try a few of your lettuce seeds. I discovered one of the spots I used to get morning sun I no longer do so I may be able to get away with planting lettuce there too. LOL do it with Hunter and if nothing else it’ll give you a good new start and maybe help her more than you think. It could be great for bonding too! I’ll check in on your diary, I usually don’t check them because I get cravings but will do it for you! OMG I LOVE Sophie and Byron’s outfits, those are the best! Sophie has a “don’t judge me and don’t mess with my lil cuz” look about her! They’re just too cute!

@megnolia82 I’ve always kind of done that too…sad, happy, etc equals food! Give it a go at figuring out what’s behind it, it’s a hard habit to break and you may not always avoid eating but it’s smart to start learning more. I still have times where I know I want to eat because I feel helpless (usually when pain is awful) but I do it fully knowing I’m eating out of stress and not really hungry. Great tips from @FushiaKat too!
Hi friends! I worked out this morning then went to the greenhouse and started some seeds while the manager loaded the cars with trays of seedlings for the farm (feel lazy not being able to do it but it’s not worth making myself worse). Also did my PT stuff and what I could of strength. I have some stuff to do in the yard tomorrow but am going to go to the farm to get the basil planted and trimmed back so hopefully I’ll still have some energy. There’s a parade through town the charity I’m with will be parking cars for but it’s a standing thing so I’m not helping, it’s going to make going anywhere for me tough so I’m hoping to avoid it. My sugar was 115 this morning as apposed to 130's and 140's. This makes me happy. My water aerobics was cancelled Thursday due to weather and I haven't moved as much "on purpose" as I should have so I understand no loss. I'm making a conscious effort to not eat after 8p.m. and I am feeling a difference in the mornings. I am encouraged.8
