Do you mean like this?
I wanted to reply to your post, on the bottom of your post you have word: flag quote insightful inspiring like hug
I pressed quote. It displays your wording on top, and I could write mine below.
That's all and just press blue POST REPLY.
You can practice on mine 😁2 -
@lauren_989 Where were you in RI? I was just there! I went to Middletown High and still have family in Tiverton & Foster. My daughter and I took the train from Providence to Baltimore to see the other side of the family.
I've been using my treadmill under my desk for 2 hours each day. I'm plan is to work up to 4 hours a day. Tues I did a workout video then went on a walk, Wed took an evening walk with my daughter and today I went to the gym. Yay, me! I've seen some travel water weight drop already this week so I'm feeling very motivated right now.5 -
@adrimango small world! I am from the small town of Richmond in the Southern part of RI. I went to Chariho High School. My parents and sister (with 2 nieces) still live there along with some friends I like to visit from high school. My brother lives outside Boston in Winchester, so I visited him and my 2 nieces there as well.
Today was a good day food wise, however I didn't meet my steps. Work was crazy and then we ended up taking my MIL to dinner for her birthday. I got a strawberry salad which was delicious! I am exhausted and heading to bed super early tonight. Hopefully I can wake up early and go to the gym!4 -
You go @adrimango !! You are on the moveAntonia2050 wrote: »Ok basic chat question - how do I respond to a post in this forum? Is there a reply button?
In any case, I'm sure you'll figure it all out over time! It can be confusing at first.

Sorry I haven't been around much! I'm really enjoying my summer vacation and the whole family is having a great time. I'm trying to drop some pounds but I'm not super focused. Really relaxed and happy at the moment. Mostly doing intermittent fasting and staying active with swimming and gardening. This week I made a big effort to reduce night time eating. It was a bad habit that showed up on my vacation and just kept hanging on after I got home. The scale is down so it had an impact.8 -

@Antonia2050 you welcome 😊
I did it, I've signed up to the gym. I have 3 month membership at discounted price. So in all I lose £80 UK pounds, if I don't go, but I will go. They do 5 different classes a day. So if I only go to 3 classes a week I will get my money back 😊
Goid thing is you have to book yourself into the classes, so that gives me motivation to go. My first one is on Monday at 9.30 Legs, Bums and Tums 😁
On that note, Liselyn @jugar can I please change my weigh in day to Monday 😊
Have a lovely day everyone 😊7 -

Progress! I guess decreasing intake helps after all!
I’m catching up with everyone’s updates. Ive been slow to get on here but do appreciate you all for plugging away with me along this path. I’ll be back on soon. Time to go to work a bit early.

Weigh in day: Friday
PW:222.8
CW:222
Back to the same number I’ve been stuck at it seems like forever, but I’m optimistic that it will start to go back down again.
Whoever recommended Heather Robertson andHalfSizeMe months ago…thank you… I’m really enjoying her podcasts about how your thinking leads to eating and using what she calls a “paper pencil journal” for tracking instead of calories the
same day.
Lastly, also months ago someone was going to start using a technology that uses checking your metabolism throughout the day.. might it have been Ashley? How is it going?3 -
Friday Weigh-In

Small gain but I'm actually taking that as a win because I tend to have 1 solid week, feel like I did things right, and then coast the next week and totally undo it. I think that is basically what I did in July so the fact that I kept consistent with logging (even on days when I was over calories) and movement this week feels good.
My sister landed in Boston late last night and we will drive to the Catskills in NY tonight. Probably going to be a semi-heavy weekend for eating but also lots og movement - swimming for sure, maybe some hiking, and I believe my bike is in the garage up there so I could also take a spin! Good reminder to buy a bike rack at some point because I really do love it.
TGIF Waistaways! Love reading your posts and I am pushing myself to read up each day so I don't miss out on any wins/losses/thoughts/reflections.
@conleywoods so happy you are just enjoying some real vacay!!7 -
No exercise for me yesterday, I got home, let the dogs out, went to my facial appointment, got home and my neighbor was outside, she called me over, asked me to take a package over to the other neighbors because they delivered it to the wrong house... ( she is elderly and has health issues) Anyway, she was having a hard week and started crying, so I chatted with her for quite a while, then thought I was free and went home, not even 10 minutes later she knocked on my door and wanted to talk more..... By then it was 8pm, and I go to bed at 9, so I didn't bother, never got dinner either. In my book, no dinner, makes up for no exercise !
Today is a good day, just super busy !

I know it's only been a few days, but I forgot how great it was to have a community to share with. The Habit Tracker is my new favorite tool - I used to keep track on paper, but this is so much nicer and it's fun to see others mark off their accomplishments as well.
Weekends are normally where I fall off a bit, but I'm hopeful I'll stay on track this weekend as most of my houseguests are gone and I'm slowly getting back to my regular schedule. I seem to be losing quite a bit of water weight this week, but its nice to see the scale moving again. Looking forward to my weigh in on Monday.4 -
OK, it seems like I've been so busily distracted that we ticked over into August without me realising. I automatically went into the July discussion to post my weigh in result and was surprised to find you'd all moved on 🤣
Weigh In Day: Saturday (in the land down under 🦘)
PW: 78.3

Here's a quick update - I saw the surgeon and physio on Wednesday for my post op follow-up. Everyone, including me, is happy with the result. When the physio removed the dressings from my knee you could hardly even see the two little scars left by the keyhole surgery. I have the all clear to gradually resume exercising and sport, although my running career is over (that's a joke - I've never been a runner) and, thankfully, deep squats and lunges are also off the menu (phew!!)
My Dad has settled into his new home in aged care fairly smoothly, which takes a lot of pressure off me. I've been able to sell some of the furniture from his previous condo directly, which has saved me moving it. The are lots of boxes of stuff that I am bringing home and plan to have a garage sale. Whatever doesn't sell will either be donated or dumped.
People told me that when I retire I'd be busier than ever. Well, that's true but I'm looking forward to when I get the chance to start working my way through the list of things I actually want to spend time doing.
Happy weekend everyone. I hope you're doing well wherever you are in the world xx6 -

Friday already?!!! The week went fast.
PW: 215

A little gain but considering I’m at my aunties’ house eating delicious homemade filipino food, I’m not too worried.
Next week I’m back home and can settle back into my routines.

Not bad for a week’s worth of dinners out and ice cream from local shops while on vacation.
I’ll share more updates soon but wanted to get my weight in before I passed out from a busy day!4 -
The week has gone fast indeed. It has been a good one for the most part - and it sounds like many of us are having a mellow and positive time.
@wdalzell5401 I am so glad to hear your dad is settling in well and your post-surgery reports are good. I think the days when you get to do what you want in retirement are coming along soon!
@littlemzkitty it is good to hear that the community connection is helping. I think having other peoples' voices in your head is great - the team is there even if we are not together in physical life!
@strong_fit_ells so good that you got the 3 month membership at the gym! That is not too long, and the classes sound like a great option. I often find I work harder in a class than when I am just working out alone. Keep us posted!
I had a long rehearsal today for an upcoming concert, so not much other exercise. Tomorrow will be riding and walking and being outside all day5 -
It's time to finish up Week 1 of August already!

Sorry for the weight red weigh-in!
CW 196.
No clue how that happened. Hopefully it's just water weight and will disappear by next week. I can't pinpoint anything exceptional I did this week to gain 4 lbs but lots of salty foods were consumed at random points in the week so even my increased fibre wasn't enough.
Starting on next week's success today!4 -
I promise that after the next weekend, I'll be back on my game.
This wedding is going to be what does me in. This past year has been exhausting, but the past 6-8 months have drained me... mentally and financially. I have no idea whether I am coming or going, but I do know that after August 13th, I will be able to breathe ... and buy stuff.
Anyway, I'm pretty sure I missed weigh in last week. I don't really know anymore.
I don't even know what my last previous weight was, but since I've been in this yo-yo mode with these 10 (+ -) pounds, I'll just be glad to be stress-free for a bit.
Current weight: 135.4
I'm really working on it, be gentle with me. LOL6 -

What a wonderful day it's been. Just the right combination of breezy warmth with a touch of coolness now that the sun is setting. I love Vermont when it starts to be autumn. I know. It's not *that* close but I can tell it's slowly coming around the bend!
I managed to attend an encouraging speaker meeting at 7:30 a.m. and take the full hour to let the antacid pill do its magic prior to eating brekky with OH. While they went to a horse trial in a town 1 hour north for the day, I got laundry washed and hung out (yes, I still use my beloved clothes-line as often as possible, even in winter!); some pesky vacuuming of high places in the kitchen (cupboard tops and a mostly hidden window); washed the collection of gross, greasy bottles and vases and put into the now open (as in no closed blinds) window sill; ate a decent lunch of freshly cut and cooked tomatoes; protein, and corn-elbows (gluten free has some good choices); rescued the drowning re-potted "prayer plant" from the huge rain storm we had last night, and then did 15 minutes of practice on my new-to-me 3/4 sized guitar (a Baby Taylor 2 for those who may be familiar). I decided to take an online class because I never had the basics and figure it's never too late to catch up on those things I missed the first time around! I talked with a few friends in between these activities, including my wonderful sister, Liselyn.
After typing all that, I realize I'm a bit worn out! OH is back from the horse farm events and cooking some delicious supper including a big batch of kale. Yay! I'll go supervise so it doesn't become "southern kale". For those who don't know, Southern cooking is famous for cooking tougher greens in vats of boiling water with salt pork...for too long to maintain much "green" at all. I prefer bright green kale, thanks!
Enjoy your evening, y'all. (got to practice my Southernese as we're going to visit mom in Matthews from the 17th-21st or so. She turns 93 on the 17th (she kindly shared her natal day with my nephew, Paul.)
"See" you soon.

Well! I need to clean up my eating act over the next week for sure. I have been indulging in all kinds of things, and the only way that will work is not to have them anywhere available - so I'm back to a grain free week, which will easily eliminate the things that mix with grains to trip me up. I'm not really sure what has pushed me towards more of the things that get into frantic eating, but usually getting grains out of the picture helps them go away. Sugar all by itself is not usually an issue, but as soon as grain and fat mix in there, hooo boy! Control out the window. Even having whole almonds with raisins or something equally indulgent does not spiral out of control, but if the same ingredients are in a cookie, I'm doomed. So yeah. Back on the rails please. I'm adding it to the habit tracker.4
