@ashleycarole86 - Thursday, October 12th - 7,979 steps - 1 hour of CrossFit
@kali225 - It is so great that your foot is doing better! And, kudos to you for listening to your body and taking it a little easier when you need to. This seems like one of the hardest things when trying to lose weight and get in shape. I hope your foot continues to heal.3 -
I had a non-weight milestone to celebrate today. For years, my sports bras have been XL. I've purchased a few larges just to see if they work yet, but they ALWAYS hurt too much. However, over the last two weeks or so, I realized the few large sports bras no longer hurt. But, more than that, they actually work better. So, over prime days, I bought a few more large. When I get home today, I will do my laundry and separate out all the XL to donate.6

@MaddawgMadsen giving away XL stuff! Wonderful. It's such a good feeling!
@Kali225 nice whoosh! I like that you are determined to hang onto it instead of "celebrating" and possibly bouncing back up. I also really like your spreadsheet tracking % towards a goal rather than pure weight numbers. Even if the goal is approximate at this point, it is a great way to track your progress. I always found it helpful to aim for a % of bodyweight loss each week instead of actual poundage. That automatically adjusts for the diminishing amount that % represents, and makes it easier to stay within a consistent loss rate. Even at something like 0.8% per week, it all adds up nicely.3 -

Starting to feel a bit more like myself overall. Thanks for the speedy recovery wishes!
This newer Covid has hit me differently than last January, including increased shortness of breath and lack of energy. I’ve been doing short bursts of projects in between naps and mealtime with a few walks sprinkled in for good measure. Tomorrow, I plan to take a slightly longer walk to start increasing my stamina. Wish me luck!

COVID this time around wasn't as bad for me. I felt like I had a really bad cold for two days, but otherwise the recovery time was faster. It’s a shame because I was supposed to get my booster this week, but I had to cancel - they don’t advise that you get it after you’ve recently had COVID.
I didn’t work out at all this week because I was still in the 10-day period, but I did track all of my food and my average calorie intake was around 2000.
Today, it’s getting back to normal after a splurge of dining out at a Portuguese tapas place. The food was absolutely amazing and I can’t wait to go back. They are always booked so I made these reservations weeks ago.
For dinner tonight, we’re making vegan butter “chicken” tonight using tofu instead of chicken. Yum!
For next week, I have already planned my workouts and put together our meal plan: I’m going to make tiramisu protein overnight oats for breakfast, we’ll have two different soups for lunch (pizza soup, and unstuffed cabbage roll soup), and for dinner we’ll make chicken and butternut squash enchiladas, and then a cassoulet with white beans and garlicky healthy breadcrumbs.4 -

I'll take a half pound per week. It's still a loss, right?
I'm back in the swing of things now. Work is manageable.
It's been cooler and rainy the past few days here. I can't get a lot of farm chores accomplished in the rain, so that has to be on hold. I'm off all next week—a much-needed vacation.
Right now, the sun is out. On tap for today is to get the pigeon in his - her - its new habitat outside. Since its rescue, it has been living in the house. I have no idea how you tell the gender of a pigeon. Then we have a new cat apartment to install on the front porch, so the whole porch will get a makeover to accommodate some of our new arrivals from the spring. They are learning where the food and water are located. I had 7 lined up at the bottom of the stairs last night.
On Tuesday, at work, one of the assistant managers walked outside. He nearly stepped on a parakeet. I now have that bird in the house as well. My supervisor wants it, so it will go to a good home.
I actually have my fitbit stats to post!

My weekly goal is 91000. I fell short by 3072.
My fitbit is at 12% right now, so those Saturday steps next week are going to suck. I put it on charge, so hopefully, I remember to put it back on before get super motivated to do more today.

I'm late posting but really happy with another loss this week. Work has been stressful and my building is in a bad state right now. I asked to be moved to another building and found out I wasn't the only one. I was asked to please stay and our building is getting serious administrative intervention. We will see how that goes. I'm also in the middle of negotiating going full time after being 4 days a week for the past 7 years. I have a lot of mixed feelings about it. It's good for my retirement and my oldest goes to college in 5 years. A big part of me is really sad about it.
Home life is good and a much needed break from work. The kids are just finishing up cross country with finals on Tuesday. My daughter made varsity and is super excited! My son was one away from making varsity but luckily he could care less. He's just there to have a good time. We cleaned up most of the garden and just need to get carrots and pumpkins out. Food and exercise are just squeezed in here and there. Hope things slow down as the kids fall sports wrap up.5 -

@eggfreak I am so sorry for the loss of your father. I'm happy to hear he went so peacefully. You were such a dedicated caregiver to your mom and dad over all these years. I hope you take as good of care of yourself during this healing time. Hugs!
@cleaneater80 I can relate to moving kids from the city to the country. My husband use to teach in town and our kids went to school with him. He later got a job at our local school (in the country) so our kids moved with him there. Any move for kids is an adjustment. Girls definitely deal with drama a bit earlier than boys. I'm guessing your daughter is in 3rd or 4th grade. Getting moved and settled before middle school would be helpful. Middle School were I live starts in 6th grade. Having time to form relationships in 5th grade prior to middle school is a good idea. FYI, it seems the first year of middle school is universally rough regardless of a move. I work with over 100 women so lots of mommy wisdom is shared at work. There were some adjustments going from the city to the county school. This is going to obviously be specific to your area. We moved to a less diverse population and maybe some families aren't as open minded or accepting of differences. I wasn't really thrilled to have to discuss what the N word means with my kids after the first week of school and other similar issues. Arranging play dates can include a lot of driving as well. We love were we live and wouldn't change it for anything. My husband and I definitely spend time talking with our kids and having conversations about how different families have different views. We talk about how to handle a variety of situations and problems. Our kids will be better for it when they are adults.6 -
Week was a whirlwind, had a work event, therapy, and dinner with friends.
I will be doing a lot of exercise this weekend to make progress towards my green week!
Brad joined a curling league and had his first draw last night.. he had fun! It doesn't sound like the most active thing but he got a lot of steps and felt sore.3 -
So, not surprising, I couldn’t get the weekly 7 minute challenge done. I’m an excuse machine. There was more than a bit of watching baseball here as are beloved Phillies won their division and advance to league playoffs for a spot in the World Series. It’s good to be back in the area.
I didn’t move my kids when they were in school, but I can tell you, moving when you are older and have all the stuff is NOT fun. Two moves in the last year and a half really did a number on me. But I’m settling. I don’t know why it is taking sooooo long to feel normal again. I did clean up my hutch today. 😂 Shoved so many things in there never unwrapped when we first moved in in May. Found a few things. Every little bit helps me settle in and feel like this is my house more.
Went to a new primary dr this week in my new town. Like her so another thing checked off. I’m going to have my hip and back X-ray done to figure out what the pain is. Also going to a foot dr (well when I make an appointment) to find out what is going on with the foot pain. Another reason I am making excuses about exercise. Even though I KNOW exercise and dropping weights will certainly help with the pain somewhat.
I have logged my food and water so far today. If I could only keep it up. I used to log religiously. Don’t know why I’m so stubborn lazy about it now. I need something fresh/novel to wake me up to do it.
Great loss Kali and Kristi and all the great losers. Hope to join that team next week. At the drs I was 6 pounds more than my official weigh in this week. Wow!!
Got to get moving. Have a great day.3 -

@jugar yes, I think the percent is really helpful for me, and thinking of the goal as "100%" as opposed to "losing 120+ lbs". The latter feels really daunting at times.
@EvMakesChanges and @wishfuljune glad you are both feeling better!
I had a lovely little movie night for myself last night - I watched Practical Magic for the first time and I loved it. Perfect for the season. And I got some candy corn but only had a handful after dinner. Now I am back from my real final kayak of the season, and sitting down to a late lunch with Mona Lisa Smile, which I have also never seen before.
I did an AMRAP (as many rounds as possible) workout last night in my challenge - I am pretty sore all over today but it feels good! I think I could start this challenge over again when it's done. I haven't gotten off track yet which is pretty unheard of for me and I definitely don't want to lose any muscle I might be building, since I am starting to feel a bit stronger. A stretch goal could be trying to repeat it through the end of the year. [I was about to rewrite that to say "until the holidays" but honestly I don't think my job will be busy around Christmas and I know my office goes remote the last 2 weeks of December so it should be very possible to keep up regular exercise - no chance if I start making excuses in October!]1 -

The excuse machine. It is so real. Listen to some Dave van Ronk. He can really make those blues do their thing. It is hard. We have to get it - and can. We don't want to...
So love this frustration - even though it is not a lot of fun to go through. Coming out the other side. Go for it.

This is the thing. Today I rode 2 horses, after running around after them, and giving them carrots! The exercise did not feel like the most active thing, but so many muscles were used.
I know I'm getting home on Monday with some catching up to do! I have been active, but not increasing strength and health. I have eaten more of the things that are not ideal, and done fewer of the strength-building things, but it is OK as long as it does not keep going on. Not looking forward to the travel time, but to the return to home and taking control again.
I have been asked to serve in a consulting / investigative role at my former university, and not sure I'll take it or that I'm the right person for the role. A meeting on Monday morning will tell! After an overnight flight... hope I am coherent!2 -
