@wishfuljune thanks for the tips! I do have some stretches that I am doing right now. I went to my strength class and I think the squats and pushups (from my knees) made it worse. I wore a brace today and have taken it easy.
I did well on my food today and stayed within calories. For some reason I have been craving sweets recently. And not just anything sweet...crumbl cookies 😕 I have not caved yet but oh my goodness. I have a frozen yogurt to eat tonight which will hopefully satisfy this sweet tooth.6 -

The funk, the emotions, the attitude - this is stuff that all comes out when those super dopamine-inducing items go away from our diet. Cut out the sugar, alcohol, white flour, and all the triggery foods, and yep. It can happen. Hang in there! You're going to get through it - and you'll feel so much better. I hope you feel great today!Boy my weight is bouncing up and down two pounds at a time. We’ll see how this ends up. I may use an average. I feel bloated today. It was my daughter’s birthday today. So I did have a tiny piece of vanilla cake from Trader Joe’s. Had a quarter of a chicken cheesesteak. I feel stuffed now. But I did log my food and close my diary, I’m over my 7k step goal so that’s good.
I am falling asleep and dropping my phone writing this. 😂

Fellow rowing machine person! I love those things. It is one of my sadnesses now that I don't work - there was a gym with a whole row of them there. I'll get over it! A friend of mine has one, and sometimes I ask to go over and have a sweatfest at her house. Sometimes just steps doesn't do it - you're right! I have been working on cutting out added sugar this month, and it's feeling good. I am enjoying snacks of nuts and seeds with raisins, and clementines or other nice sweet fruit. Or as I have recommended in the past, when the sweet craving gets bad, eat a pickle! Sometimes the sour taste can cut the craving right down. Good luck!

This is a weird transition week for me -off Mon, worked some Tues (but no meetings), back to work yesterday, half day today, full day tomorrow. My 8th grader returned to school today. No one at my house knows what day it is still, LOL! My wife teaches at the local university and doesn't go back until the 17th.I've been focusing on water, making sure each meal is high in protein, and limiting processed carbs including alcohol. I feel less bloated and sluggish. The scale hasn't moved an ounce since Mon BUT I had a 3lb loss last week (water) so I'm no surprised or discouraged. I prepped some meals on Sun to help ease into this weird week and that has worked well.

@wishfuljune it IS Sunday River! Sugarloaf is also on my "hopeful" list of places to try this season, as well as Big Squaw which I think is further north in Maine.
Boston and the Northeast are due for possible snow and some kind of storm this Sunday so Saturday night I will be do an age-old trick we did as kids - wear my PJs inside out, throw an ice cube out the window, and put a spoon under my pillow at bedtime. It brings snow..?? Results not guaranteed but I'll try anything.
I felt really good waking up this morning, realizing that I had eaten well yesterday and was just feeling good in my body despite not getting back to any intense exercise (it will really just be walking and yoga this month, plus the occasional dance cardio session with my girlfriends!). So I kept that going - lots of good protein today, and I got yoga done before the workday was over + vacuumed my whole apartment. I took a nice walk before dinner and limited myself to 40 min total to not over-do my foot. I wasn't too hungry for dinner but made it anyway and ate slowly with TV. weigh in tomorrow and I am legitimately looking forward to it (possibly a mistake since, as we know, sometimes the scale is just kooky despite good decisions).
I got into bed nice and early tonight and I can hear the wind whistling through our courtyard. goodnight!6 -

I’ve been weighing myself every day following New Years and my scale went drastically up before coming down over the week, so I’m not going to bum myself out too much comparing to last Friday. I had quite a bit of charcuterie at the New Years Party I went to last week. 😆
No workout yesterday because I ended up working an 11-hour day. I’ll likely have to put in some work this weekend just to stay ahead. It’s not uncommon this time of year for my team to be putting in a lot of hours, but I am looking forward to a more regular work schedule again soon.
I’m looking forward to yoga and spin for this weekend, and I think I’ll be signing up for a strength class for Monday while I’m off from work.4 -
Yesterday was good, drs appt was non eventful, My bp was great it was 113/76 - so she said if I keep this up, we will talk about taking me off the meds all together, I got off the 2nd pill back in October. So only 1 more to go. Then I will have no daily prescription meds
YAY !!!
I have an appointment for a facial tomorrow... They are myself care to myself. other than that, no real plans for the weekend. We have our last regular season football game on Saturday, but we are sitting all of our starters because we already clinched the #1 seed, and the Division title, so we aren't really playing for anything.

I'll be doing yoga today, and see how I feel about another walk. Tonight is takeout night (probably from my favorite Indian place which usually means a good lunch of leftovers tomorrow, too) and I saw that National Treasure is on Hulu now so that will be movie night this week!
This weekend, I'm doing a little shopping - my favorite store in the world, The Container Store, is on the list for some new year's organization in my room, as well as REI for new snowpants. And anything I buy, I am using my winnings from (drumroll) - winning my fantasy football league!!!!! WOOOOOO. My Packers are on the opposite end of the stress spectrum vs @Gidgitgoescrzy 's Ravens - if we win this weekend, we are IN the playoffs!! So I will be glued to that game.

Got a little sloppy logging yesterday. Doing better today. Exercise is so hard when you work a full day and it’s dark.

Thanks for bringing up the idea of posting average weight. If anyone is having a wonky week, this is an option. Sometimes we're bouncing around, so it helps get a clearer idea of the general direction. Feel free to do that!We’ll see if I’m lower tomorrow. Michele - can you turn your statement about exercise after working around? Tell yourself that you get to exercise after a long day? A big glass of water, maybe a small snack, and some time on the mat just for you feels good when it's dark outside and you've been around all those kids all day. Walking outside? Yeah. A lot harder in the dark. I wish you longer days! They are coming but dang, they are slow getting here.

Happy Friday! I’ve had a great week with workouts. Tuesday was at home with live-time connection to the class at the gym (50-minute strength training session); Wednesday, I had 50 minutes in the therapeutic pool, which helped with tight glutes; Thursday in person at the gym, and another session this afternoon in the pool. I walked to work both yesterday and today. My food intake has improved to appropriate quantities most every day. Tonight, I had some lightly fried shrimp, coleslaw, and frites. The added crunch and salt tasted divine!
Now, I’m ready for wary sleep because I had a Covid booster this afternoon. Can’t wait to lie down and drift off!
I plan to do some more writing tomorrow.

@micki48 - I totally get what you mean. Leaving/logging off from work and it’s so dark outside makes me just want to change into pjs and go to bed. I’ve been signing up for classes at 6pm and treating them like an extension of my day so that I don’t let my brain psych me out from getting my workout in. I hope you find something to help motivate you!
Yesterday was another long work day. Out of 10 hours of work, I had only 1 hour of no meetings. Next week is also going to be busy, but it should slow down a little bit after that. My husband and I did a secret Santa with some friends and last night we all opened our gifts and guessed who our secret Santa was. I got a board game that I’ve been dying to own so I was so thrilled!
I have a yoga class in less than an hour, then we’ll go to the farmers market. I have my niece’s birthday this afternoon so I’ll only have a small piece of cake, and then dinner tonight with friends in an igloo. Have a great day everyone!5 -

It's a rainy day here today. Went to the gym this morning and did the elliptical. My knee seems to be doing a little better, let's hope it continues. I am going to donate blood this afternoon, but otherwise not much excitement planned for this weekend.6
