@teresaw2024- Hugs! Hope you get some sleep tonight, some time with your friend and that Joe doesn't have a UTI.
@19shmoo69 - I think that you are bringing your own special sparkle to the motivator position and I'm enjoying it!

Hi everyone!
Let me reintroduce myself. I'm 36yr old, stay at home mom of three boys and happily married for 13(almost14) years. I started my weight loss journey June 2023. I've lost 40 lbs so far and have been stuck the past two months losing and gaining the same 2-3lbs. I'm excited to continue supporting one another and getting over this bump in the road I've hit.2 -
Ice breaker Thursday!!!!
What is your playlist?
You know what I mean, what's your jam?. What makes you shake your booty? @trooworld can I say booty now that I'm a motivator?
In the world of Spotify, Pandora and Amazon music it's so easy to find songs. So what gets you through the day? Maybe you have multiple playlists. Share them. Heck (pardon my French) maybe you don't listen to music. Share what you do listen to.
Have a blessed day.3 -
@buniphuphu thank you, it is very hard at times. It’s great that you are getting back to your healthy habits and focusing on steps to get you where you want to be. That is one of the main reasons I rejoined the Slimpossibles, too. I love Steve!

@Katmary71 I am very blessed that Joe is never angry. His personality has become much more childlike, which is great on one hand and just as frustrating on another.
I need some marijuana!
@Cornanda Tested Joe, and no UTI. Yayy!!! Thank you.
@trooworld Thank you for that virtual hug. I need all I can get. And it sounds like you need one, too. So sorry about your husband. I hope he starts feeling better soon. And I hope your job is understanding that life happens and it’s not your fault.
Good morning! My girlfriend did come over yesterday and bought me a heart-shaped box of chocolates. She is so sweet, and yes, I had a couple while we drank our blueberry coffee and had a wonderful visit. The sugar fast is almost over, and I gave it a solid 80%, which is good for me. Maybe next time, I can go for the full 100%.
Our new pastor also came by last evening and spent about an hour visiting Joe and me. I thought that was so nice of him! He is good with Joe and was very complimentary of my work and attention to detail. I told him that I was just getting started.
I am not working out again today because we had another long night, and I am just too tired. I have to run to the office and then to Aldi. I think I will buy some salmon for dinner. Have a great day!

What is your playlist?
Gosh, I have a lot of different tastes. If I'm doing something vigorous (walking, lots of housework) I like Panic! at the Disco, 30 Seconds to Mars, Halestorm, The Score, Fallout Boy, Linkin Park. I also like listening to the Welcome to Night Vale podcast, as I get caught up.
Spouse and I are sick (again), so taking it easy for a couple days. I did just get my brand new, size 20 jeans in, and they fit! Tiny bit tight at the waist, but wearable. I am fully confident they'll be a perfect fit in a couple weeks. My weight is still being stupid (big surprise).4 -
@morenin sounds like you got the listening enjoyment whooped. Sorry to hear y'all are sick and hip hop hooray on the NSV.
@askewcr congrats on half pound down
@TeresaW2024 chocolate from friends is always awesome. Good Pastors are awesome as well.

@trooworld Thanks! It’s a hard book to read fast when it’s about staying in the present, haha Your poor husband, I’m glad today is going better for him.
@19shmoo69 I think I’m up to 150 playlists on YouTube (not all music). Spotify isn’t letting me check out the first two unless I sign in but your last one has Skillet who I like.
@TeresaW2024 I’m so glad Joe doesn’t tend toward angry. LOL I’d be happy to share with you! I think you did more than 80% just having a couple chocolates! How wonderful the pastor stopped by and does well with Joe. Definitely get some rest in after you enjoy that delicious salmon! I’m with 19shmoo69 Any friend that comes with chocolate is a friend I want!
@morenin morenin I like your vigorous music! Oh no hope you two are feeling better soon, congratulations on the jeans!
Hi team! Another workout behind me. Work’s slow right now. I helped out a bit at a charity board member’s business as volunteers came there to pick up bags to take to homes. I have 7 and only got 3 delivered as it started raining and the routing apps were going haywire (driving up and down busy streets to go through a neighborhood for five minutes then back out where I started which makes no sense). My pain was going crazy so I came home and took a bath and am catching up here then reading.
No Zero Days- good with diet aside of a cookie, got in a great workout, and feeling pretty relaxed.
Hey any good ideas for a group of single (divorced/widows too) women on Valentine’s Day? A few of us talked about going out for heart-shaped pizza but I have to nail down the plan.

Have a fun Spotlight for you, enjoy everyone! Thank you Darren I loved reading your responses!

19Shmoo69 (Darren)- The Magnificent Man Behind Mission Slimpossibles Motivator Position
What made you decide to improve your health and join MFP? When I started this “journey” I weighed over 312. I say it that way because I stopped getting weighed when the scale said 312. One day after church a gentleman, who had just had a heart scare, came and said “the Holy Spirit told me you have a weight problem”. My first thought was the Holy Spirit did not tell you that, your eyesight did. I mean think about it, i wore a 3xl t-shirt and made it look like it was spandex. Well anyways, we agreed to be accountable to each other. That fell through quickly but I did not stop.
What makes improving your health worth doing? The stereotypical answer is being able to live a longer life. I could not grasp that concept until I became a Sofu to a handsome little Mago. Another bonus is not getting sick as often as I used to. I was one of those kids that got sick with every season change. That has changed and I praise God for that.
What have you tried in the past that hasn't worked? There are a couple things that have not worked for me. Fasting because it always led to binging and going vegetarian. While i wasn’t a meat and potato guy, i was a limited fruit and veggies guy. A place I used to work for had a health fair and the results made the nurse give me a list of fruits and vegetables. I went home and read them to my wife and son. They each liked about 50 or so items while I only liked 17. Most of those were the same, just different, red grape and green grape. Vegetables would make me hungry more often. Which led to me overeating and then binging.
What have you tried that has worked? As far as food, the carnivore diet works best for me. It can get boring but I feel fuller longer and the little aches and pains are not there. Is it too early to talk about activity? Running works for me. I say running. To me it is running others may call it walking but they are not in my running shoes. What form of exercise do you enjoy? Walking and /or running. It probably stems from my childhood. Walking was my form of transportation. Even after I got married I would walk at times to pay the bills. If i am only walking i can walk “forever” but if running is involved then there are limitations.
What goals did you achieve this past year? This is where the negativity may seem to come out. I am not a goal oriented person. I do not go looking for work or jobs to do. I know many people that are like that, some big and some small. If i am supposed to do something then I will do it. If I have options then it will depend on my mood. I never set food goals or fitness goals. I signed up for a marathon this past October. You might think that is a goal but the way I think it was not. I ran because God was going to talk to me, not necessarily because I wanted to run 26.2 miles. If you are curious, HE did talk to me before and after the race.
Are there things you didn't do before that you're able to do now? It all goes back to running. When I started I could not run the straight way down a track. Before my running hiatus I would leave work after a 12 hour shift stop along the way, run 3 miles before continuing home. My favorite time to run was in 100 degree temps in August. There was a time my wife got on to me for running 3 miles when it was 115 outside. I just don’t feel heat the way others do. We have since came to an agreement.
What is something non-weight related you have done or learned that you may not have if you hadn't started improving your health? Sometimes i can push further. Slowing down does not mean failure. It means you are taking time to breathe or reassess the situation. I may have learned it but i do not always live by it.
What are your favorite health and fitness blogs, books, or magazines that you have read/do read? I do not read. The only thing I read is stuff at work which I have to do and the BIBLE because I want to have to read it. Anything fitness or health related that i have read is on some random website that involves the topic I was curious about. With that said, if it did not show proof of the topic early on I would leave and go somewhere else.
What is your favorite healthy food aside of coffee? Bacon and beef
How do you manage to alter your eating patterns and accommodate the rest of your family? We make separate meals. I meal prep so when i am hungry I grab my food and eat. When a dinner is happening then my wife makes sure I have meat to eat. An example is the other day we were in the “big city” about dinner time. We went to a Braum’s. My family had the combo meals and I had the bag of burgers minus the bun.Which i would do anyways because i cannot have gluten.
Is your family understanding about your health goals? Understanding my needs and understanding the needs are two different points. They help because of my need but they may not understand how it works for me. Then again when I fire up the grill everybody wants something then. LOL
How do you continue and not give up? This one is simple. I throw a fit. A big ole’ walleyed fit. I vent, rant, get angry, yell, kick, scream and sometimes cry. Then tomorrow i start all over.
I really admire your drive at not stopping no matter how low you've been. This caught me off guard. I do not do well with compliments. I am unsure, if I am to say thank you then Thank you.
What is your goal for this next year? I do not have a goal. If I had to nail one down it would still have the mantle of motivator in this group.
What is your best piece of advice for those just starting their journey? Only call it a journey if you want it to be or if you want to call it that. The problem I have with calling it a journey is that to go on a journey you have to set a course, pack a bag, get a lay of the land, plan for accidents……etc. I don’t even like calling it a lifestyle or a life change. All of us have seen that it is too easy to change back. The plain and simple truth is this you. It is your life whether you lose, gain or maintain whatever you set your eyes on. You are not identified by your scale. You are identified by your love or lack of love. Either way if you need help I will help if I can. With that said you should be willing to help the same way.
What would be your last meal on death row coffee order? Finally a coffee question. I would need two drinks. 1) a large Americano using Guatemalan Antigua beans.2) a con panna made the wrong way. Two or three shots of espresso and the same shots of coffee with steamed cream added to it. Take note this is the only drink I do not drink black.5 -
Forgot to finish the question sorry about that! I mostly listen to metal when I work out, I listened to this band A LOT when I first started here and it's great for cardio, it's considered symphonic metal though they're the main one I like in particular this singer and their singer now who is my fav.
https://youtu.be/LUy8T_3kieI?si=TqyjJAPXIH6PFQB7
I'm still doing Mongolian Metal on Mondays and Thrash on Thursdays, Funk and R&B Fridays. I have 80s rap, 80s hair metal, 80s high energy, pop, and stuff like that. After metal my fav is R&B. Then I have an instrumental playlist with all kinds of fun music from heartbreaking Schindler's List to Middle Eastern metal and this beautiful piece:
https://youtu.be/iO7ySn-Swwc?si=TrunfUVChGWh045j I played the organ for 6 years as a kid so I'm familiar with a lot of classical. I have a Lindsey Sterling playlist too which is violin. Not a big current pop or current rap fan but I like the older stuff then also like some country. LOVE disco too! At night I tend to listen to hang drums or Native American flute like this that calms the nervous system:

@buniphuphu - I believe you're never to old to learn something new. You have a great weight loss plan, now to put it in action. Let's shed some pounds together!
@trooworld - I hope your husband feels better soon. I hope you don't get yourself in trouble at work either.
@TeresaW2024 - I hope things get easier for you with Joe. Try to not put your needs on the back burner. You are important!
@19shmoo69 - Thank you for sharing your story, it's inspiring. Great Ice Breaker Thursday topic. I love listening to music. Thanks for sharing your play list. I really enjoyed your workout playlist. I don't know a lot of those songs but I've been listening anyways. It's nice to listen to something different. I like music from many different genres. I don't have any playlists programmed. I just type in a song and/or band that fits my mood and let the app I'm using, continue randomly playing similar music.Oldies - like Thin Lizzy, Jim Croce, and Gladys Knight. Hair bands -like Tesla, Montly Crue, and Scorpions. Hard rock - like Iron Maiden, Godsmack, and Staind. Classic country- like Johnny Cash, Sammy Kershaw and Little Texas. Current Country - like Morgan Wallen, Kelsea Ballerini, and Lee Brice. Hip hop- like N.W.A, Naughty By Nature, and Eminem. R&B - like Marvin Gaye, Tina Turner and Beyoncé. New music - like Gracie Abrams, and Olivia Rodrigo and the list goes on....

Austin here, with a belated check-in! It's so inspiring to read all this!
Today was a good No Zero Day:
🟢 Food was on plan and under my calorie goal. I need to eat more veggies. Ah, well, I will get there. No zero!
🟡 Movement was under goal. I did get a little walking in and ran the stairs a few times, so not a zero!
🟢 I had a meeting where I was seated next to a huge platter of cookies. I skipped them and had a protein cookie afterwards. Yay!
Now off to do some meditation and get some good sleep!3 -
@19shmoo69 - I'm kind of an old rocker, so the music that moves me is likewise old. I don't have playlists. Well, I do have a workout playlist on alexa. Anyway, I'll offer up one of my favorite groups: The Cars. Here's "You Might Think"

I listen to a bunch of different things. I love 80's music (pop, punk, grunge, etc), classic Motown, 50's classics, jazz of many kinds, western classical. So much lovely music in the world.
Here are a few current favorites:
King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard
Bluesy jazzy piece by maybe the most amazing band going right now.

Gary Clark Jr
His remake of "Come Together" by the Beatles:

I'm really pleased to see the scale moving back in the right direction after falling off the wagon for most of December and all of January. With even the small changes I've made, I can tell I feel a bit better. Yesterday, my daughter was heading to the vending machine and asked if I wanted a Sprite, and I almost said yes out of recent habit, but I told her that I had plenty of water. Score one for NO ZERO DAYS!4 -
Check in and explanation. For those of you who have been around for quite a while you may remember that sleep has always been such an issue for me. I have tried meditation, sleep study, hormones, sleep apnoea test and just about anything else that anybody would suggest all to no avail. Last summer I decided to see a psychologist to see if that might help. After seeing her for about six weeks, taking care of some issues, it was discovered that I have ADHD. I started on some medication, it was not great, we switched to another one and after about six weeks I was sleeping better than I had in my adult life! I was actually able to complete tasks, I had always said I was the queen of multitasking, but never stayed on them long enough to complete them. My brain was so calm, it was lovely! That lasted for about two months, it was around that time I came back to this group. After two months I started getting tired during the day again and not sleeping as well. We have such a shortage of Dr's and psychiatrists here who deal with ADH and are taking new patients, finding someone with knowledge has been a real challenge. My GP started it, but she is not comfortable with these medication's at all, and was nervous about starting me on something else. I have been in limbo since the end of October. I finally found a nurse practitioner who is taking new patients and who specializes in ADHD. She has taken me off that medication and very very slowly started me on another one, hopefully I will not be so tired and be able to be a real contributing member here again:).
For that two months when I was doing great, the breeder where I do agility asked me if I would become a guardian Home for one of her litters coming up. I agreed, so 10 days ago I got a new puppy🤣. She is an absolute doll, Vannie is getting used to her and actually is enjoying starting to play with her.
I hope to be back soon and full on contributing :-). For now, here are just a few pictures of these two 🥰

Good Morning,
Just finished catching up on the reading since Wed.
@micaroo4 I love your pics my favorite is the Cordelia Tetherly.
@Katmary71 I spoke to soon on allergies, hubby mowed the grass Wed after we got home from dental appt. I am back to battling symptoms. But I will still say the congestion is not nearly as bad as it used to be.
@trooworld I am doing really well, giving myself a few more days with taking it easy then back to working around the house again. I am glad your hand is healing nicely.
@TeresaW2024 I am sorry you had a difficial night with Joe, but glad you got girl time with your friend. She knew exactly what you needed CHOCOLATE but your self control was awesome to only eat a few. I think you are doing amazing on the sugar fast.
What are your playlists?
I use the SiriusXM app to listen to music. I am not one to make playlists, I just love different types. I listen mostly to 80s pop or hairbands when I need a good boost in my mood and when I am mellowed listening to pure country keeps the mood set.
I am keeping this short, I have a few things around the house to do today with cleaning. Dental appt went fine. Can get back to normal routine. I am still taking it easy though. The right side is healing a little slower than the left so still having problems eating. The dentist said my gum ripped when he removed the part of the root that broke when extracting the tooth, so it will take a little longer to heal. I am still doing the food journal and it is helping me watch what I am eating.
I hope everyone has an awesome Friday!
"Today, I Choose To Be HAPPY!"

@Katmary71 - I enjoyed the Piano Guy's. I played the cello for a short time as a kid and I really enjoy listening to piano music.
@AustinRuadhain - Great - no zero day! There's a nice guitar riff at the beginning of King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard.
@micaroo4 - I like the Cars too. I listen to a lot of oldies like that.
@trooworld - Your Happy list is filled with alot of the music I listen to and I listen to a few from your Rip the Bandage off list too. But your Dog Beach Day playlist is hilarious. I'm never going to poop on the floor....lol. My dog follows me around the house too. When we leave the house, I put the doggie channel on for my dog.
@laurelfit57 - I'm glad your discovering your sleep issues and found a nurse practitioner to help with you ADHD. Vannie and the new pup are cute and look so comfortable too.
I reassessed my habits. I determined that I'm already at 1200 calories so I won't be able to reduce my calories. I do about 30 min of cardio and 30 min of strength training a day. Which is a really good workout for me. I could be more active by mindfully spend less time sitting around during the day. Mainly, I'm going to focus on adjusting my macros by eat more protein and watching the amounts of carbs and fats I eat. I've relaxed on my carbs and fats, when I started eating potatoes, whole grain bread, and dairy again. I could consider making some leaner meat choice. Maybe, eat less nuts and more veggies too. Try to cook more and eat out less will most likely make a difference. Then, for the past few days I've been going back to sleep for a couple hours after getting my husband off to work. This way I can get those 7 hours of sleep I need, without trying to fall asleep early and laying there awake. I'll work on these changes and do whatever works for me and hope for the best.🤞

HEY HEY HEY WHAT is your Name?! Funny you're doing it too!4 -
@Veta2018 I love most of the music you named, Tesla is a hometown band in Sacramento and one of the previous members played with his new band around the corner from my house, I’m bummed I wasn’t able to go. I’m watching a Run DMC show on Peacock right now!
@AustinRuadhain Now I’m curious to check out your diary, it used to be all produce when I would peek at it! Five high fives for all those “no zero days” win!
@micaroo4 Love The Cars, that song is stuck in my head just seeing that video posted!
@trooworld I saw the funniest painting for a sip and paint, it was a llama with glasses with two flowers in it’s mouth that is a sip and paint you can go do. I sent it to my brother and thanked him for the tree! I’m leaning toward the pizza just because it’s a little less expensive than a nice restaurant, I’m guessing most restaurants are booked now. I actually ended my workout today listening to another of those “Pass the Mike” Soul Train videos! You’re welcome, I loved Darren’s responses to our questions it was great to read, thank you for contributing most of the questions. I love Ice T’s (or Body Count’s) version of Institutionalized! There’s a Run DMC series on Peacock right now you might enjoy! I saw a Prince one but unless it’s new I’ve seen all of them. I hope your husband keeps feeling better and won’t need to go to urgent care. I love your rap and punk playlists lots of good songs!
@AustinRuadhain Oh love the “Come Together” remake! Mannenberg is beautiful, I don’t think I’ve ever heard it. Hearing it while reading the story is very moving, thank you for sharing it. Love seeing your plans, how did your day go did you hit your goals?
@buniphuphu Woohoo you go, you’re doing great! It always feels wonderful when you start seeing signs that your changes are working.
@laurelfit57 I hope once the dust settles and you adjust to this medication change you’ll be feeling a lot better. I’m so glad you and Vannie are enjoying the new puppy, what a beautiful pup! She’s obviously very comfortable at your house look at that belly pose! They’re too cute together. For the weigh-in would you like to be part of the cheerleader squad for now so you don’t have to worry about weigh-ins until you’re stabilized? Let me know when you get the chance so I can pass it on.
@txcritter69 Oh no shoot I’m sorry to hear that on the allergies! I’m glad they aren’t as bad as usual. I’m so glad the food journal is working out well for you. A ripped gum definitely doesn’t need a Dorito corner in it right now, wise to be careful!
@Veta2018 Oh perfect have you listened to 2Cellos? They’re like Lindsey Sterling as far as bringing an instrument into different genres, hard to pick just one song but here you go:
https://youtu.be/x8yymm3DtVA?si=Vljh5pHfvXK1GKp4 Eating at home does help a lot as you never know how much oil or butter is in other’s food. What are you trying to improve by reassessing your habits? Are you struggling with hunger or weakness? I hope the changes help! When I first lost I ate low calorie and worked out all the time, I didn’t realize going so low on protein was the reason I was weak and hungry constantly. A little extra calories and more protein made my workouts way better and I did way better with weight lifting and general energy.
Hi team! On a little early, have a meeting in two hours to learn a computer program and wanted to get all my night stuff done first. Had a good workout then dropped off bags of Valentine’s cards, I had 4 small homes and the first home gave me a tour and introduced me to their one patient (they’re new and they and the others were real grateful to be included despite their size which was cool). One of our board members has a senior placement business so I sent her my opinion of the home and owner. I went to the holistic place hoping to get my body calmed down but it only helped for a little bit, I’m planning to take it easy tomorrow. Had some drama with the charity board that will probably be dealt with tonight, our new vice president overstepped quite a bit on a project I’m involved with and got everyone upset as she tried to leave someone out and doesn’t know the steps involved as she wasn’t here last year. I tried to smooth things over but I’m annoyed at her questioning me about my computer experience to submit an article to the newspaper (told her she was welcome to do it herself). By the time I called the president I had heard from another board member and she already knew about it from one calling her. I volunteer for 4 places I don’t need to be micro-managed every time I say I’m willing to do something. She’s reminding me when I worked at an independent physician association the person I helped the most would leave out 1 step of everything so she’d get credit and I couldn’t “take her job” which the boss said is common in hospital administration and I'm sure elsewhere. Have a great night and awesome Saturday!
No Zero Days- Had a good workout this morning. Healthy food. Good heartwarming interactions with people at the homes and holistic clinic.
