HOW IT ALL WORKS: The March challenge runs for four weeks, from March 3 - 30.
Everyone weighs in weekly on their chosen day right here in the team chat. At the end of each week, the tallies are done to determine the team and individuals with the most weight lost. The best losers are announced with full fanfare every Sunday. The team competition is all in good spirits - may the most losing win, and may everyone else get to work on next week!
We also celebrate those small, steady losses. If you lose, however small an amount, you are in the green! At the end of the month, we celebrate everyone who lost at least a bit every single week. You are heading steadily towards your goal even if you aren't at the top of the weight loss leaderboard. In March we are aiming for every team to hit 50% green every week - let's do this!
To make your weigh-in easy to find for your team Captains, please put it right at the top of a message, and use this format:
Weigh In Day:
PW (Previous Weight):
CW (Current Weight):
If you miss two weigh-ins in a row without asking for a break, you will be dropped from the team, so be sure to inform your team captain if you are traveling, sick, or just need some time off. If you want a break, you can be excused for a week or two, or can be moved to the Support Team for as long as you need. You still participate in the discussions, you can weigh in if you want to, but it will not count in the weekly tally. Don't worry! You can always come back even if you get dropped.
Once you reach your goal weight, you join the Goal Zone. You continue to weigh in every week. If you have 2 weeks above your self-defined goal zone, you go back to the regular team to lose that amount before it builds up. You will have a chance to hone those maintenance skills and stick with your team.
In addition to your own team, there are weekly F2F Full Group CHALLENGES. You can do all or none - it's up to you. Participating adds a lot to your success, so we hope to see you there often! These can involve anything fitness, health, or nutrition - and they’ll get you moving, thinking, and learning about this journey. Check the Announcements section for full group challenges.
Let’s show our fellow challengers some F2F love Introduce yourselves right away, and let the March begin!

Hi everyone! A big welcome to the new team members, and welcome back to the returning members, I am so glad you are here!
I am one of your Mission Slimpossibles captains along with the fabulous @Katmary71! Our motivator is the hilarious and insightful @19shmoo69!
CHECK-IN PROCESS

MY INTRODUCTION
Hi everyone. My name is Chris. I live in Southern California with my husband, cute one-eyed pirate pug named Daisy (8 yrs old) and pug pup name Violet who is going to be 2 yrs old in June. Up until my mid-20s, I was a healthy weight but then the mid-20s hit and along with that came medications that made me gain weight as well as poor lifestyle choices. For exercise, I like to walk with my husband and friends.
I have about 65 lbs to lose. My hobbies: reading, making artwork and crafts, photography, and cooking. I do straight-up calorie counting of healthy foods with MFP Premium.
Now, it's your turn! Tell us about YOU!

I invite you to join me on a quest for a NO ZERO DAYS 2024! What is No Zero Days? There are 4 simple ideas behind this:
There are no more zero days. A zero day is when you don’t do anything towards your goals. But that doesn’t mean you have to go full-throttle on your goals each day, no, just do something small if you have to, do a single push-up, walk to the mailbox, drink one less soda…anything not to report a zero day. Do one thing to make your life better each day.
Be grateful to the 3 YOUs: the past you, the present you, and the future you! Be GRATEFUL to the past you for the positive things you’ve done. Did you do that push-up yesterday? THANK YOU YOUNGER ME. Second part of the 3 me’s is you gotta do your future self a favor, just like you would for your best friend. Tired and can’t get off reddit/videogames/interwebs? This one’s for future me, i’m gonna rock out p90x Ab Ripper X for 17 minutes. I’m doing this one for future me. Alarm clock goes off and bed is too comfy? This one’s for my best friend, the future me. I’m up and going for a 5 km run (or 25 meter run, it’s gotta be non zero). MAKE SURE YOU THANK YOUR OLD SELF for rocking out at the end of every.single.thing. that makes your life better. The cycle of doing something for someone else (future you) and thanking someone for the good in your life (past you) is key to building gratitude and productivity.
FORGIVE YOURSELF. Tried your best to have a nonzero day yesterday and it failed? so what. I forgive you previous self. I forgive you. But today? Today is a nonzero masterpiece to the best of my ability for future self.
Exercise and books: exercise is self-explanatory but the books, read a self-improvement book…reading gets you to the next level!
Here’s more detailed information and where I got the above info:

Hello! My name is Teresa, and I was once a long-time member, but life got in my way, and I had to drop out and, in the process, gained all my lost weight back. So, here I am, trying to get it together! I’m a ministry assistant for my small church, caregiver to my much older husband who has dementia and other health issues, support manager to my crazy family, and mom dog to Maggie Mae, my 8-year-old Cavapoo.
Good morning! Joe got a clean CT scan, so no cancer! Yayyy! I had a staff meeting on Wednesday night, and my new pastor/boss seems to think I can pull off miracles and get these little Welcome Bags put together before Easter. This entails creating a brochure, a connect card, ordering pens and mugs with our church name, and ordering the bags. This is on top of the other things he wants me to do. Did I mention that he doesn’t remember our church is poor? In other news, tomorrow I turn 58. That is only two years away from being 60! Yikes, I’m turning into an old lady. I did go to Publix and pick up my free birthday cake that my app said I could have. I got a carrot bar cake and plan to indulge a little tonight and tomorrow. Mom offered to take me out, but it’s going to rain, and I don’t want to go out, so we will order pizza, and Joe and I will find a movie to watch. I just want it to be low-key and peaceful. OK, I’m off to create a brochure. *insert eye roll*

Question: Always coffee!! At least 3 to 4 cups. Sometimes Tea. I love Bengal Spice herbal tea. AND…I’ll never say no to a glass or a bottle of wine. :

I will be less present than usual for awhile. My cousin informed us last night she's known for 4 months she may be terminal if she doesn't get a liver transplant, and has just been waiting to die. After a family meeting, she's agreed to at least cooperate with treatment, so I will be exceptionally busy with medical appointments the upcoming weeks. My eating was abysmal (shocker) last night to the point I'm not even gonna track it.5

Hello, Austin here.
What @TeresaW2024 said applies to me as well! I was once a long-time member, but I let life get in my way. I dropped out and, in the process, gained some of my lost weight back. And all there is to do is -- get back to work! So here I am! This is month 2 of that renewed focus, and I am seeing differences that have me excited about improvements, even though there is a good way to go.
I am a teacher, a parent, and the keeper of a small menagerie.
How Thursday Went
🟢 Food on plan: vegetables & fruits, most of my G-BOMBS (missed mushrooms)
🟢 GtG Pushups: 4 sets (12+)
🟢 Steps: goal 6,000 ; did over 7900!
🟢 Floors: goal 5 ; did 5 floors
🟢 Tiny Habit: After I go to the kitchen to make coffee, I do a counter pushup. Then I celebrate (fist pump or maybe a dance move)!
Friday Plan
⚪ Food on plan: vegetables & fruits, G-BOMBS
⚪ GtG Pushups: Goal for today is 4 sets (12+)
⚪ Steps: 6,000
⚪ Floors: 5
🟢 Tiny Habit: After I go to the kitchen to make coffee, I do a counter pushup. Then I celebrate (fist pump or maybe a dance move)!
Tonight and tomorrow I am off coaching a science team event. My food goal is damage control! I picked up some fruit and protein bars at the store. It will be different, but hopefully good enough!6 -
Anddddd I forgot to post my intro. Sorry, I'm having one of those weeks.
Hi, I'm Morenin! I failed at losing weight for over a decade after gaining due to stress eating. When I finally hit 255 lb., I got some help from my doctor in the form of a stimulant to fight all the sleepiness and hunger from my various meds. I lost 30 lb. in 3 months, and am now working on whittling down to a better size, if only so my knees quit crying! Last month I finally got below the weight I was at my wedding 5.5 years ago, which was my original goal. Having this group to help and encourage me is helping me a lot, I'd say!
I love cats, the color purple, books, computer games, puzzles, and I am just trying cross stitch again!6 -

Hi team! I’m Kathy, I’m a team captain along with the beautiful and brilliant @trooworld. We have @19shmoo69 as our magnificent motivator. I’ve been part of this team since 2019 and recently went from being the motivator to captain. Interestingly two of our current teammates were the captain and motivator when I joined, the awesome @TeresaW2024 and @AustinRuadhain ! I love them returning to our family.
I’m 52 and live in the Sacramento area with my two cats. I had my 5th back surgery at the end of October and am still recovering and have a condition called CRPS in most of my body (usually just say nerve damage as most people aren’t familiar with it). I’ve been dealing with pain and mobility issues for a long time, I’m currently trying alternative treatments to help. I file claims part-time, volunteer at the food bank farm, and am secretary with a local charity. I love reading, gardening, cooking, listening to music/going to concerts, and going to farmer’s markets and craft fairs.
@trooworld Well in that case GOOD RIDDANCE to him being your director then. I hope you’ll get a better director who will appreciate you.
@txcritter69 Hope you got out and enjoyed the weather. Thank you for the recipe! Way to go on conquering the night snacking and avoiding eating away, you’re doing wonderful.
@TeresaW2024 Reading your response to @txcritter I’m thinking we need a new challenge, what do you think? You’ll get back in those clothes, please don’t be too hard on yourself. It’s disappointing (I feel that way about gaining half of it back when my CRPS relapsed) but it’s behind us and we’re headed in the right direction.
@morenin Oh no I’m so sorry to hear this about your cousin, I’m glad she’s willing to do treatment with your family behind her. I hope we still see you here and there but do your best and get through this. Woot woot being under your wedding weight is so awesome!
@TeresaW2024 Yay so happy to hear that about Joe! Oh my gosh I guess you can’t tell a pastor something is impossible right? How frustrating I wish you luck and patience there. Happy Birthday! I’m so happy you’re back, I know it’s because you gained and wanted to lose but I missed your positivity!
@AustinRuadhain I’m glad you’re back too I missed you too! Good luck with the science camp event, smart thinking of the healthy food, you got this!
@Jactop Happy you’re back, take a seat and stick around! @19shmoo69 will make you some coffee or tea!
Hi friends! I had my gum cleaning the other day and one year of following her advice (two additional cleaning tools and mouthwash) my pockets are half as big and gums no longer bleed, she is SO proud of me I feel like teacher’s pet haha. She said she wouldn’t have believed my mouth was the same person’s a year ago. My Clarisonic toothbrush broke and I bought a cheap one and got a lecture so I went to Coscto this morning to get a two pack on sale this week. I had a gift card but there’s no room to add a second card online and it didn’t cover the toothbrush so I had to go in person. The storm going through is making my legs and feet real bad so I’m staying home and off my feet, all the garden club and farm stuff plus farmer’s markets are canceled because of the storm. Have a great Saturday!
No Zero Days
- Good food under calories
- Decent workout
Should we do a March challenge?

Hi my name is Tammy and I’m 56 years old. I’m the mother of two grown men and two teen step children. I also have two beautiful grandchildren. I’m very much a family person and love to be around loved ones. I’m a personal support worker and have been for over 15 years. I have been battling my weight for most of my adult life and been on every fad diet known to man. The result as you can imagine was more weight gain. I topped my weight at 260 at one point and knew I had to do something or I’d end up dead. My knees hurt I had trouble breathing even after just small things like going up five or six stairs. I came here the first time and lost weight but when the plateau hit I gave up again. Finally when I hit almost 250 again I came back determined. This time I stay through all of it and with you guys I have been successful for the most part since I joined again over a year and a bit ago. I have come to the conclusion that slow and steady wins the race not fast and furious. Today I finally broke the 190 mark. I have been bouncing around there for three weeks but this week I did it! I can’t wait till my hubby gets up so I can tell him. He has been soooooo helpful and supportive with me I hope you guys have a great day.5 -
@txcritter69 I am ready for warm weather, too! That's great you aren't snacking at night anymore. Sounds like you are doing great. The salmon looks yummy, thanks for the recipe!
@TeresaW2024 It does and you can't tell why they are special, you just know they are! Oh yeah, I forgot you don't do doctors lol. Dr. Google? I'm glad the wrist brace is helping. I'm glad Joe's CT scan came back clean. Yay! That sounds like a big job, oh dear. HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!! I already feel like an old lady lol. I think I felt that way since I turned 50. That cake sounds amazing. Enjoy!
@Jactop @gemwolf110 Congrats on the losses! Welcome back, @Jactop!
@morenin I'm so sorry about your cousin, that must have been hard to hear. Hugs.
@Katmary71 LOL that's what I say, too! Thank you. Oh that's great news about your gums. I have made great strides with mine, too: I use a Waterpik at night (that has made the biggest difference), I brush twice-ish a day, I use a mouthwash by the Dental Herb Company called Tooth & Gums tonic (that stuff is expensive but makes a huge difference and I only use about 1 tsp per day so it lasts for months), and I also rinse with hydrogen peroxide in the morning. That's what's helped me. Reducing your pocket size is amazing, yay! I'm glad you are resting. I hope the storm isn't too bad. Yes, we should do a March challenge. What do you want to do? We haven't done a tracking challenge yet, or a water challenge.
@tammymccrady6278 Congrats on the loss! That's exciting that you broke the 190s mark.
Hi all. I think we need to plant our tomatoes soon. That means I have to go to the store and get the seeds and soil. I'll probably do it next weekend. I've got stuff to do this weekend. Today, I have to get groceries and then at 8 am, I have a Spanish lesson. After that, I am going to a folk art museum with my old boss (not my director, my manager who retired a few years ago). That should be fun. I put a temporary color on my gray bangs yesterday (fuschia). I also made this floating teacup with book covers for a work display.

Good morning Team Mission Slimpossible!!!!!
I've been described as hilarious, insightful and magnificent motivator. I appreciate the compliments.
Our Team Captains @trooworld and @Katmary71 is where the true gold of this team lies.
My name is Darren. Married to an amazing woman. She is definitely my better half.
I'm an elder in our fellowship.
I've been battling my weight for most of my life. My heaviest was over 312. I got down to 229 once and managed to gain back to 280+. I eat the carnivore diet (mostly). I've cleared the space around my weight set so I can do some strength training. It's warming up where I live in Arkansas. Hopefully soon I can get back to running.
To all the new people, there's this nasty rumor that seems to never leave this group. The rumor is I that I have a massive addiction to coffee.
I just want to let all of you know that this is TRUE!!!!
Have a blessed day.

Good morning! I’ll do an intro here then weigh in in a separate post.
I’m Meg, I’m 41. I’ve recently had an epiphany:
Over the years I dropped every one of my coping mechanisms and things that bring me joy until all that was left was food. I need to dive back into all the other things that gave me peace and happiness. Hiking, swimming, reading, crafting, playing piano, singing.
This month I will set a goal to check in 5 days a week. And to walk (deliberate, not just at work) for at least 3 hours.
I have struggled to count calories and try to stay away from food but I think I need to keep food in its lane. It is fuel. It’s not a friend, not a counsellor, not something to give me a boost or calm me down. Not something to ease stress. I need other tools to cope with all those other needs.
Here’s to a good month. I’m looking forward to taking the time to really listen and get to know you all better!

@laurelfit57 Oh I know this well with Violet lol. I have corners of walls chewed up to prove it! LOL And everything else. Man, that sounds sooooo cold! Good job tracking. I'm glad you've been sleeping ok. She is sooooo cute.
@Cornanda Blast from the past, right? Thank you, Lisa!
@morenin I kind of figured you'd dig it! Thank you.
Hi all. I had a great time at the museum yesterday. My husband joined us for coffee and we then went to a second museum. It was fun. Afterward, my foot was killing me (the one with plantar fasciitis). I came home and iced it and took some Naproxen. It helped a tiny bit but I'm going to avoid the zoo today (I planned on going). I've got things to do and want to be able to do them.

@morenin I’m so sorry for your cousin and pray that she can receive treatment that will benefit her life. Be gentle with yourself, too.
@Katmary71 I definitely need a challenge to get myself going in the right direction! And thank you, I am very happy to be back. Great job on getting your pockets and gum in better shape. I also have a couple of deep pockets that my dentist keeps a close eye on.
@trooworld, your bangs are so fun! I might need to do something like that one day. I love that floating tea cup! Seriously, it's so stinking cute! Thanks for my Richard greeting meme! I used to do his Sweatin to the Oldies.
Good morning! So, yesterday Joe woke up more confused than usual and I knew something was up. I tested him for a UTI and ended up calling an ambulance to take him to the hospital. I have learned that having him taken by ambulance there and into a room so we aren’t sitting in the ER waiting room forever. It was bad enough that we had to sit in an ER room for eight hours before they let us go home. I could have kept him there and probably should have because he kept me awake most of the night. But the thought of returning to the hospital today was worse, so we did our best. I have to run to the pharmacy and get his antibiotic and then spend the day resting. No church and no church chili cookoff for us today. I am really hoping and planning that tomorrow, I can get back to working out and getting myself back on track with my eating. Have a good day!
