@trooworld I am so sorry about your foot! Many hugs being sent your way, take good care of yourself!. I remember you talking about when you first got Violet and the nonstop with her. Do Violet and Daisy get along well now?
@AustinRaudhain our pets do keep us entertained don't they?
@txcritter69 sounds like you are all set up for success! Have a great time!
@TeresaW2024 i'm so sorry about Joe, I know this has to be hard for you. I have had a few nights in the hospital like that with my mom this last year, I know you must be exhausted. Big hug being sent your way
@Cornanda so excited for you, have a great time in Vegas!!
@19shmoo69 I agree agree with your wife, you have very cute bangs🤣
I made it to the gym today for a workout. I am not going to spin right now, I haven't done any cardio for a couple of weeks and think I wouldn't be able to make it through the class lol. I did 15 minutes on the treadmill and 15 minutes on the bike on my own this morning . Did some weight training and core and back.
When I got home I took Time out for a potty break, brought her back in and was gathering up toys to play fetch when she decided to launch herself onto the coach and try to jump off the back of the couch. Luckily I still had her leash on and grabbed it before she went flying. I brought her into the kitchen with me and shut the gate. I put her food down in a puzzle, assuming that would keep her busy for a couple of minutes, boy was I wrong! I had some thing in the oven, I opened the oven door pulled it out and Time launched herself onto the door and tried to jump in, I was able to grab her collar before she got all the way in😳. This one will keep me on my toes6 -
@AustinRuadhain Thank you! Great job exercising at the hotel! Good luck with the science team event! Wow 50lbs is awesome! You did great yesterday when you’re on track you do so well!txcir
@19shmoo69 Said a prayer for you too!
@AmbersWay Thanks! It’s a really good one, I can’t stretch my leg behind my head but do it on my side, here’s the video: https://youtu.be/BQhl0DBmIPw?si=76UV4c8A4VCAehds
@micaroo4 Glad you’re safely home!
@askewcr Yes you can, you got this!
@vegan4lyfe2012 Great job being in the green for all of Feb!
@trooworld That’s smart to put her in a crate, my brother had their dog in the crate by their TV stand and she chewed the bottom off, haha. The generic is diclofenac of Volteran (which is cheaper than Volteran). Lidocaine helps for numbing, I have a stinky cream with menthol that helps but I’d guess you don’t want to smell like that at work. I’m trying a new one called Penetrex and it helps a little too. Hugs I hope you feel better, You need time to get your exercise in, we want you to reach your goals too! I’m trying to learn balance here as well too so we can hold each other accountable k?!
@txcritter69 Thank you! Definitely check Sidney Cummings out, she’s a good one. Have a great time on your trip!
@buniphuphu Sounds like a good plan for this month! Your workout plan sounds great too, I hope it’s exactly what you need. How exciting being so close to your doctorate! I understand getting overwhelmed, doing what you can is smart. With the pain stuff I used to power through and be miserable at the end but if I actually take breaks my nervous system has a chance to calm down some. Let us know how it goes!
@ninyagwa Hadn’t thought of body doubling but it makes sense!
@laurelfit57 You did great at the gym, easing back into it sounds smart though you did quite a bit! Time sounds like a handful oh my goodness! Puppies and kittens are so overwhelming in the moment but it’s hard not to love them.
Hi team! On a little early, my neighbor is coming for dinner and I need to get it going. Had a ridiculous morning, I set off a grocery alarm on my cart in the doorway trying to go out (I'd changed my mind about shopping in 5 minutes and was putting the cart back) then my window was stuck down so I let PT know I was having car problems (no time to empty my car of valuables and I’m not leaving it down in the parking lot when it’s raining plus I was freezing by the time I got home). I DID get homework and work done and rescheduled PT for tomorrow before my allergy appointment.
Question- I was reading about how if you spent 10 minutes cleaning before bed how it prepares you to start the day off better the next morning which makes sense so I’m trying to do that now.
Have a great night and Tuesday!

QUESTION
Design for relaxation. What is one change I can make to my environment that promotes mental peace and reduces stress?
I think getting rid of/donating some of the unused items in my house would greatly reduce my stress, as I don't like the excess, or the feeling that something is being wasted.5 -
@Jactop I am so glad you are back. You got this gurl!!!
@sleepygirl79 you brought back a memory when you said teeter totter. I loved those growing up. Do they still have those around? You will conquer the totter.
@askewcr YOU CAN A BSOLUTELY CAN DO THIS!!!!!!!!!!!
@trooworld take some time to rest!!! We appreciate all you do and have done.
@AustinRuadhain great loss. I need to do counter top push ups. Great idea.
@txcritter69 enjoy the travels! The funny thing about sodium is too little does a number and too much does a number. With that potassium and magnesium too. And they all go hand in hand.
@katmary71 Design for relaxation. What is one change I can make to my environment that promotes mental peace and reduces stress?
In my case mental peace is a struggle as my brain never shuts off. There have been many years of thinking I never slept because of constant thinking but my wife would tell me I kept her up with my snoring. There was a bible verse i would repeat until i fell asleep. I need to find it and do that again.
@buniphuphu planning is always good even if it is a bunch of small plans.
@ninyagwa I love the idea of body doubling. My wife does that for me when i do sunday pot-blessed meals. I have actually called her when she was gone just to have her there. I even shared at church how my wife sits and watches me cook. Everybody thought I was joking. One time the youth had a late event and needed to use our house to get ready Sunday morning. They were shocked when it came time to cook and I started preparing the food and my wife got her chair and a cup of coffee.
Have a blessed morning tomorrow. You have been prayed for this evening.

@laurelfit57 "our pets do keep us entertained don't they?" Oh, my, yes! I am making something with string this evening (a gadget for middle schoolers to experiment with the Doppler effect, of all things). It involves a string, and I am so delighting my kitten!
@KatMary71 - Ha! You are so perceptive. I do do well when I am on track. The work for me is staying focused, and getting back on track when things are going badly! And not to get overwhelmed when I feel like I am digging (or have dug) myself into a big hole. Eating well, eating the diet that works for me consistently seems to snowball. As I do more of it, I feel better and am more likely to interrupt myself when I consider eating things that don't work.
Your stretching thing looks cool. I am making a note to try it. I am sure I will be humbled!
@19shmoo69 - Yay to spreading the counter pushups idea. I feel just a little but fitter when I do those, like @buniphuphu and her great plan for not getting overwhelmed by how much there is to do.
Also - I like my husband to come do things with me, too. For me, it's errands rather than cooking!
I dropped back in in MFP to log my dinner, and also to share a cool thing I read today. @Katmary71 and @cornanda found that great James Clear piece. I loved the discussion of adaptability. I think it had me notice an inspirational email (I signed up for several and sometimes don't read them carefully.) I don't love the article title, but I appreciated this reminder to "Cultivate gratitude and resilience." It seemed related to what James Clear was talking about.

Hi all! Loving the energy in the group this month.
@AustinRuadhain congrats on the 50lb loss!!!
@ninyagwa doubling is a good idea, I have a friend and my mom that we clean together or I do my walking with while in the phone. The time and chore passes so quickly.
@buniphuphu nice tip on breaking up the tasks. I try to do breaks in between whatever I do. I clean a bit, rest some, clean some more. The days of trying to power through are getting less and less. Now it’s about being productive while not wearing myself down.
@Katmary71 for your question. Relax?? This is such a tough one that I go up and down. To get my breaks/rest times to chill, I try to organize my area and fluff my pillows, light my candle and just turn away from anything that doesn’t make me smile. This usually ends up with an episode of something funny to watch.
@askewcr YOU CAN DO IT!! Cheering for you.
@txcritter69 Enjoy your trip! Sounds like fun.
@trooworld I hope your foot is feeling better today. 💐
Well today I cooked for my friends children, while abroad on vacation, her husband had an accident and is hospitalized and in need of surgery. She sent her children home and is focusing on his care. This touched home, too soon. My husband is still recovering and I know how hard it is.
In other news, I got my 10k steps in and my calories were 79 over which isn’t too bad but hoping today is better. I’m hoping to get back to cycling this week.
That’s all for me folks5 -
@AustinRuadhain - Congrats on losing 50 lbs!
@trooworld - I love the bangs, Chris. I've been thinking about getting a light pink highlight in my hair. I hope your foot gets better soon.
@TeresaW2024 - I hope you and Joe have a better day and you're able to make time to take care of yourself too.
@askewcr - That's right, stay positive. Celebrate every accomplishment, big or small. You Can Do This!
@txcritter69 - I hope you have a great trip.
@laurelfit57 - How cute, you sure do have your hands full with Time.
@Katmary71 - Interesting, I clean up before bed. Everynight my husband just goes to bed and I stay up and put his socks in the laundry, his cup in the sink, fold the blanket and throw it on the back of the couch and shut everything off before I go to bed. But he does get up and go to work everyday too.
@ninyagwa - I like your body double suggestion. When I think about it, I do tidy up while talking on the phone...lol. I recently started decluttering, but must have got distracted. That reminds me, I need to get me back to it.
@AmbersWay - My ankles swell bad when I fly too. I like to burn candles too. I agree it's relaxing. Great job getting your 10k steps.
QUESTION:
Design for relaxation. What is one change I can make to my environment that promotes mental peace and reduces stress?
The weather here has been nice. Therefore, opening the windows and letting the fresh air in I feel will be beneficial in reducing stress and promote mental peace. I think by bringing flowers and plants into my environment can also make my environment less stressful.💪Mission Slimpossible Strong! 💪

Good morning! I’m back, and we are doing much better. Joe’s antibiotics have kicked in, and he is feeling better. Any kind of sickness kicks his dementia into high gear, and he is very needy. But today should be better, and I plan to work out, get back to my diet, and get some church work done. I have a huge to-do list for my new boss, who is very kind and understanding of what I’m dealing with. Have a good day!

@txcritter69 Thanks! It will be work, something to keep in mind. Thank you! You are going to have an amazing time!
@laurelfit57 Thank you. It's been going on for about 5-6 months but I've just been trying to push through it. The pups do get along now, I think it was a combination of Violet getting a little older and Daisy going on Prozac. They do fight occasionally but very occasionally now. How do your pups get along? LOL I have thought about getting a puzzle for Violet because she scarfs down her food. Oh gosh, Time! She is a frisky one, huh?
@Katmary71 Thanks for the generic name. Yes! I'm not doing so well with balancing my time in the mornings yet. It will take a while before I figure it out. Sorry about your morning drama.
@19shmoo69 Thanks, Darren!
@AmbersWay thank you! How's your husband doing now? Good job with your day.
@Veta2018 You should! It's fun! Thank you.
DISCUSSION QUESTION: What is one change I can make to my environment that promotes mental peace and reduces stress? De-clutter/organize/find a home for things. The clutter stresses me out!
Hi all. I failed at balance again this morning. I'll work it out. Have a great day!

Design for relaxation. What is one change I can make to my environment that promotes mental peace and reduces stress?
I thought of 3 changes I can make to my environment; each would serve a different purpose but all would promote mental peace and reduce stress:- Make the bedroom as dark as possible for sleeping.
- Play nature sounds. I especially like ocean waves.
- Clean up the clutter that stresses me when I notice it. It doesn't mean doing a whole-house cleaning. Just look around the room, and see what's there that is bugging me. A pile of stuff on the kitchen table or on my desk. Shoes and coats by the front door. Just identify the hot spot in the room and then take care of that. Not a big project; just like 10 minutes.

I’m a 50 year old single empty nester and I share my home with my American Blue rabbit (her name is Kismet). I have 3 children in their 20s – oldest is my son, Marcus (granddaughter Sophie is 10 months), then my daughter Sydney (grandson Oliver is almost 1 month), and my youngest daughter Hunter (grandson Byron is almost 9 months & due with baby girl Brayden on 6/15/24). I love to rubber stamp (I’m a Stampin’ Up demo) and make cards. I'm an active member of my church (Board member), and also love horror movies. I have worked in Community Development at my County for 19 years. I was diagnosed a few months ago with Inattentive ADHD and started medication in January. Hoping once I get to the therapeutic dose, it will help me with getting more prep work done with meals so I have things ready to go. Failing to plan is planning to fail…
I have always been a yo-yo dieter, but mainly up. When I lose weight, I can never seem to keep it off for longer than a year. Currently I am down 14 pounds and have about 50 pounds to go. I recommitted myself to eating whole, unprocessed foods about 90% of the time. I’m giving myself a little (10%) wiggle room for things like pasta and tortillas. I’ve also been soda-free for 73 days now. I’ve slacked off a little the past couple weeks because I haven’t planned meals appropriately since I’ve been doing a lot of running around and babysitting for my children. I have to get back to the whole foods. I ate 3 cookies yesterday and my body reacted violently. The sugar really hurt and my body made sure to tell me to not do that again. So here’s to a fantastic March (raises tea cup)!

Ugh I have the stomach flu. It's been a few days now, slowly getting better. The stomach pain is the worst part of it. This is the second time I've had it, last time it took to months to fully recover after a trip to the hospital, so I'm glad this is a milder case. I can't stand anything sweet; it makes me sick. I'm eating warmer foods, potatoes, eggs, stuff like that. It helps. If I don't move around, then it's not too bad.
I see my rheumatologist on Thursday. I'm looking forward to that. It's going to rain tomorrow so they will wash my car on Thursday or Friday. I love mobile car wash detailing.

@trooworld @Katmary71 I'm really sorry, but my cousin may be dying, and she no longer has the ability to do even the most basic self-care without someone at least watching. As the youngest unemployed person in the house, most of her care is falling to me. I need to go on inactive for at least a month. I can weigh in on Thursdays if you like, but I hate to drag the team down.3
