Not quite 3/4 of a million steps but super close! Way to go walkers! That means 2.23 million steps and we have two more weeks in the month (though that number includes some steps from this past week!

This week there was a lot of shifting at the top, but look at those steps!! Kudos to @Emilienewme for hitting 20K steps in done! And honorable mention to @andja87 and @purple1butterfly for almost kitting 20K! Way to walk!

Our bolded members set a step goal for the week and met it!

If you want to join the challenge for Oct:
Just post your steps by the end of Wendnesday after the week ends. I'm flexible and might wait a day or two for you. If we're 'friends', I may drop a personal note to you to check in. If we aren't, and you'd like a personal note, send me a friend request.
Part of the challenge or new and want to add or update a goal?
If you want to... be bold (heehee), let us know how many steps you want to hit every day on average and we'll keep track of it for you!
For anyone confused about where we are ...
This is post is for Oct 13-19. For those interested in joining the October step challenge (you can join any time!), the week of October 20 (10/20-10/26) steps should be posted by Wed, October 30.

    Awesome walking steps team!

@minstrelofsarcasm I’d like to be moved to support for the time being. I’ve been keeping to my workouts pretty well but I’ve been struggling with the nutrition side of things as evidenced by my weighins for the last month or so. I think I need some time away from the disappointment of myself struggling to keep up with it week to week.

We’re in the process of buying a house and packing up our current house so I’m looking forward to the much needed change and hopefully a new sense of motivation to get back to it like I know I’m capable of.

I’m aiming to be back before years end. I’ll still pop my head in from time to time.

Not sure if this is true...I didn't weigh in last week so I guess it's possible. 😭 I'm going in the wrong direction! I don't want to make any excuses, but I've been dealing with some type of infection in my belly button that my Dr. Just keeps throwing different antibiotics at me that don't work or work then don't work, and that's frustrating! It's the 27th and I haven't had my period yet, it's always been all over the place and I started birth control a few months ago so maybe that has something to do with it, idk. I've also been having a lot if back and sciatic pain lately so it's hard to stay moving, but I know not moving can make it even worse at times! I just need to do better with my food! I'm really tired of this weight loss battle. 😢

    My steps for the week

    Sunday 20th 12287
    Monday 21st 9622
    Tuesday 22nd 13106
    Wednesday 23rd 16404
    Thursday 24th 10440
    Friday 25th 7934
    Saturday 26th 8578

Less steps this week, my husband was away for work so with all the kids activities I didn't get much time to exercise or go for a run. This week is half term here so no school (or work for me) and my parents visiting, my daughter's 13th birthday, there will be a lot of food around and not much chance to exercise again but I will try my best

@CassieGetsFit2013 it can be so disheartening when the scale doesn't go the right way, but focus on the positives and try little changes at a time. You had some great loss before so you can do it! Have you tried pilates? Check with your doctor first, they sometimes do special classes for people with back problems, it helped me when I was pregnant and hurt my back

Not a problem, I will move you to Support, with a goal to return in December (we can change this at any time, so don't worry too much about the exact date). Keep us posted - we'd love to hear how you're doing!

    Welcome @Retrojoesales

    @melaniedscott
Sunday 2,194 poor steps today. Spent the day with my son watching Game of Thrones. He has gone back to his place.

I have managed an exercise that I couldn't due to week arms. I am unsure what it is called, I had my hands on a flat surface straighten my arms & lifted my knees up from the floor to my hips and the best bit was I managed 50 of them. This happened on Friday at work & yes I know it was not very health & safety.
It made my week & when I told my daughter she said "go Mum" with a big smile and gave me a high 5.

I have been getting a lot of steps this week on vacation. It is so hot and humid here though. With all the sweating I’m doing I should have lost 10 pounds. I know it didn’t happen but it should. Today is going to be a beach day and then we head home tomorrow. I have Wednesday off maybe I can get some more steps in. When we get home I want to try to make time for me. The walking is hurting my back and leg so I will just have to power through.

I don't have any events or vacations coming up, so anyone who is having a tough time managing their diet - let's partner up for support.

I am going to be serious the next two weeks in particular. My goal for myself is 20 lbs by December 31st and I'd much rather drag someone along with me than see you quit the challenge altogether! Trust me, come January, it will be nice to have a head start on the New Years Resolution.

@Lizslonghaul - Oh wow, 20 lbs is ambitious, but doable. Do you have a particular plan for how you're going to get there? Are you making changes to your diet? Adding more movement? Getting more water and sleep? (Yes, that can make a difference!) Let us know - I am sure I am not the only one curious

Primarily being more diligent. I use keto gains to calculate my calories and macros. I'm going to be at roughly 1,400 calories for the next couple months, so less cheat meals and more planning/ weighing for accuracy purposes.

I am adding a small amount of exercise, I have a Peloton I just haven't been using it. My plan is to ride 5 days a week for 20 minutes and 2 days a week I'll do a beginner weightlifting video. If I feel up to it, a few of those days I'll walk the dog. I have not been doing any exercise.

Last couple months I've been averaging about 8 lbs per month, so this should get me to 10 lbs per month.

I eat mostly keto and one meal a day, or fasting with 20-4 window. I eat keto solely because it helps with cravings/appetite. I generally flex up to 50 net carbs which is more in line with low carb - but when I want to be serious, I'll do 3 meat and fat only days where I eat zero carbs. I'll usually do that right before a weigh-in, I'm planning on doing that tomorrow through Thursday because I haven't done it since August. That usually knocks off an extra 2-3 lbs and is more pleasant than a water fast.

As for what I eat in a typical day, today, I haven't eaten at all yet although I made myself a mocha earlier. When I get home around 5:00 p.m. I'll make dinner, 12 oz lamb leg steak cooked in a bit of butter and herbs, the last of my butternut squash/parsnip soup, an arugula salad with goat cheese, walnuts, and a bit of diced pear and prosciutto, oil/vinaigrette dressing, a coconut water smoothie with a scoop of collagen, kale, and hemp hearts, and a bowl of keto ice cream.

I also want to do a water fast, not sure if I'll do it in the next couple months. Probably January.

@Lizslonghaul - Most of this sounds great, but I tend to be wary of water fasts. Personally, the risks outweigh the benefits for me, although I have seen evidence of them helping in some cases. Have you found that they work for you?

It's nice to push through a plateau if you're already fat adapted and used to fasting because it doesn't feel any harder. It was much harder for me to commit to one meal day than anything else I've ever tried, took about a month to get used to it. I've only done 48 hours fasts, but would like to try 72 hours just to see how it goes.

Autophagy is really cool. I was in a bad car accident last Thanksgiving where I had burns all across my chest and lap from my seatbelt. The doctor said it was probably going to be about 6 weeks total for the bruises and necrotized fat to be reabsorbed into my body. I completely healed in 2 weeks, it was crazy fast. I've also noticed my immune system works really well, I never get sick. My family got COVID and I was sneezed on/coughed on etc. and didn't get it. You can get these benefits with one meal a day, you don't have to water fast, but I would like to see the difference with extended autophagy.

It is Wednesday and it is time to report steps! As of 4:30 am CST...I don't have steps from @OllieAndEd2021 and @ljdanny.

I don't have steps from @andja87 or @daria0919...but I'm not sure if I should expect them, as you both are on support. Feel free to continue, if you want, on step challenge but no pressure.

@Sillycat1974, I am missing Friday Oct 25 and Sat Oct 26.

    @Kyra_TB97, I am missing Wed Oct 23-Sat Oct 26.

@melaniedscott I am having a serious left ankle/foot issue and am seeing an orthopedic specialist and am currently in a walking boot. No walking as much as possible for me right now is the order, so I won’t be submitting steps through at least all of November.
